David Faucheux will join us again on 8/5/25 at 8pm Eastern to facilitate the discussion of The Colony Club: a novel DB127808 by Shelley Noble. NLS annotation The Colony Club: a novel DB127808 Author: Noble, Shelley Reading Time: 11 hours, 42 minutes Read by: Hewitt, Caroline Subjects: Historical Fiction, Women, General Fiction “When young Gilded Age society matron Daisy Harriman is refused a room at the Waldorf because they don’t cater to unaccompanied females, she takes matters into her own hands. She establishes the Colony Club, the first women’s club in Manhattan, where visiting women can stay overnight and dine with their friends; where they can discuss new ideas, take on social issues, and make their voices heard. She hires the most sought-after architect in New York, Stanford White, to design the clubhouse. As “the best dressed actress on the Rialto” Elsie de Wolfe has an eye for décor, but her career is stagnating. So when White asks her to design the clubhouse interiors, she jumps at the chance and the opportunity to add a woman’s touch. He promises to send her an assistant, a young woman he’s hired as a draftsman. Raised in the Lower East Side tenements, Nora Bromely is determined to become an architect in spite of hostility and sabotage from her male colleagues. She is disappointed and angry when White “foists” her off on this new women’s club project. But when White is murdered and the ensuing Trial of the Century discloses the architect’s scandalous personal life, fearful backers begin to withdraw their support. It’s questionable whether the club will survive long enough to open.Daisy, Elsie, and Nora have nothing in common but their determination to carry on. But to do so, they must overcome not only society’s mores but their own prejudices about women, wealth, and each other. Together they strive to transform Daisy’s dream of the Colony Club into a reality, a place that will nurture social justice and ensure the work of the women who earned the nickname “Mink Brigade” far into the future.”– From publisher. Chicago's Wrigley Building, constructed in 1921, is the “whited sepulcher” of Michigan Avenue, gleaming in terra cotta like the rows of teeth ostensibly cleansed by Wrigley's Chewing Gum, the company that built the Beaux-Arts edifice. Retired FBI agent and criminal profiler Candice DeLong explores the case of Harry Thaw, the wealthy heir who gunned down architect Stanford White in front of hundreds of witnesses. The motive? A toxic mix of jealousy and vengeance over Thaw's wife, Evelyn Nesbit, a young model and actress who had been sexually assaulted by White years earlier. The case ignited a national scandal, revealing a world of exploitation, obsession, and privilege among New York's elite. Candice examines how Thaw's deep-seated insecurities, violent temper, and fixation on revenge collided in a deadly way.Be the first to know about Wondery's newest podcasts, curated recommendations, and more! Episode originally aired on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 9:30 am, on WRCR Radio 1700 AM.The topic of conversation was the Lawrence–Tonetti Waterfall in Palisades, NY. Also known as Peanut Leap Cascade, this natural waterfall was beautifully enhanced by sculptors Mary Lawrence and Francois Tonetti in the early 20th century by creating stream-fed pools, sculptural fountainheads, and a Roman-style pergola on the shore of the Hudson River.John Ratcliff, the grandson of the sculptors, joined host Clare Sheridan to share memories of this extraordinary place, which was once part of the larger Lawrence property in Snedens Landing. The property is now contained within the Palisades Interstate Park, where thousands of hikers pass by its ruins as they descend the Shore Trail to the Hudson River. Today, I'm thrilled to share an episode of a wonderful podcast, ArtMuse. This is part one of a two-part episode about Audrey Munson, sometimes referred to as "America's first supermodel." She inspired more than a dozen prominent statues throughout New York. After reaching the height of her fame, she got roped into one of the early twentieth century's most sensational homicide trials, right up there with the trial of Harry Thaw for the murder of Stanford White. You can learn more about ArtMuse here: https://www.artmusepodcast.com/. If you'd like to suppor The Art of Crime, please consider becoming a patron at www.patreon.com/artofcrimepodcast.
In 1901, Broadway chorus girl Evelyn Nesbit met Stanford White, the fabulously wealthy and influential architect who designed Madison Square Garden. They formed a relationship that ended in murder six years later, right in the middle of a crowded performance at Madison Square Garden. In our 17th season finale we discuss a clash of the titans that took place at the turn of the 20th century when coal and transport magnate Harry K Thaw shot famous architect Stanford White on the rooftop of Madison Square Garden in front of countless witnesses. But the real victim was the young woman caught up in the mix, Evelyn Nesbit, Harry's wife.
On this Friday Follow-Up, we tweak one of our earliest episodes after Amber's later research uncovered that an aspect of this case has been wrongly reported for decades. It was one of the most salacious stories the country had ever heard: A famous architect had been gunned down in front of an audience of hundreds by a man who said he was defending his wife's honor. It so happened the wife was the world's first supermodel. The love triangle among architect Stanford White, model and showgirl Evelyn Nesbit and millionaire unhinged man Harry Kendell Thaw reached its climax on June 24, 1906. With hundreds of witnesses, the case was never a whodunit. Rather, it was a gripping tale of sex, lies and murder. "Crimes of the Centuries" is a podcast from Grab Bag Collab exploring forgotten crimes from times past that made a mark and helped change history. Carl Raymond of The Gilded Gentleman podcast and his guest Keith Taillon invite you into one of the most historically exclusive spaces in New York City -- the romantic and peaceful escape known as Gramercy Park. This small two-acre square, constructed in the 1830s, has been called “America's Bloomsbury”. Taking the reference from London's famous neighborhood once home to many great writers and artists, New York's Gramercy Park has similarly included noted cultural icons as architect Stanford White, actor Edwin Booth and the great politician Samuel Tilden. Wandering along the park today it's easy to gain a view back into the past — many of the original Greek Revival brick townhouses and brownstone mansions remain, some still in private hands. The park in the center is one of the most unique places in America — it is a private park, not a city property and its upkeep has been managed since its inception in the early 19th century by the property owners around the park itself. Writer and historian Keith Taillon joins Carl for this episode to look back into this hidden pocket of New York City's past and unlock its history. Warren - THE LAST MAN STANDING: Is Jack Daniel McCulloughJune 4From the archives we bring you Alan R. Warren and a case which is a conundrum inside a riddle It was a shattering death bed confession by a heartbroken mother. But would it solve the oldest cold case murder case in American jurisprudence? In January 1994, Eileen Tessier told Jack McCullough's half-sister Janet Tessier that he, her son, kidnapped 7-year-old Maria Ridulph from their neighborhood in Sycamore, Illinois and killed her in December 1957. It was a case that tore the child's family apart, as well as dividing and terrifying the town as the days, then the months, and finally the years passed with no arrest. In 2008 the Illinois State police reopened the case against Jack after receiving an email from Janet Tessier about their mother's deathbed confession. After the Illinois State police interviewed Janet and learned that Jack had also been accused of raping their other sister, Jeanne Tessier, they reopened the case. But would reopening the case solve the question of who killed Maria Ridulph? And was McCullough the killer? In THE LAST MAN STANDING, true crime author Alan Warren writes in exacting detail about the kidnapping, murder and subsequent investigations—both in 1957 and 2008—that eventually led to the murder conviction of Jack McCullough. But the story doesn't stop there as it delves into the years McCullough spent in prison and the efforts to have his conviction overturned. Was McCullough the brutal killer of a little girl? Or was he the last man standing when the justice system decided he needed to pay for the crime? You decide.BookAlan R Warren0:00Change progress43:07Vassili MironovJune 3The heroes of European Village can call themselves heroes again (thought they don't).The battery and disorderly conduct charges they got slapped with three days after foiling what could have been a bloodbath at European Village in March were all dropped—charges that, in the men's view, should never have been leveled at them to start with. The evidence supports their claim.Vassili Mironov, Joshua Auriemma and Roman Dubinschi were the young Palm Coast residents who jumped on Daniel Noble before he could use his assault rifle—an Uzi he was threatening to use against patrons. Mironov and Auriemma sustained stab wounds in the process. Noble, 38, has since been hauled off to a state psychiatric hospital, having been deemed incompetent to stand trial.Three days later, Mironov, Auriemma and Dubinschi were themselves arrested. Their arrests after a fight at Finn's bar in Flagler Beach on March 19 appear to have been the result of shoot-first, ask-questions-later policing based on the apparently false testimonies of that evening's assailants, who never faced prosecution. Not that the questions were ever asked.0:00Change progress51:01Thomas Maier - Mafia Spies: The Inside Story of the CIA, Gangsters, JFK, and CastroJune 3From the Bestselling Author and Television Producer of Masters of Sex, a True Story of Espionage and Mobsters, Based on the Never-Before-Released JFK Files, and Optioned by Warner Bros.Mafia Spies is the definitive account of America's most remarkable espionage plots ever—with CIA agents, mob hitmen, “kompromat” sex, presidential indiscretion, and James Bond-like killing devices together in a top-secret mystery full of surprise twists and deadly intrigue. In the early 1960s, two top gangsters, Johnny Roselli and Sam Giancana, were hired by the CIA to kill Cuba's Communist leader, Fidel Castro, only to wind up murdered themselves amidst Congressional hearings and a national debate about the JFK assassination.Mafia Spies revolves around the outlaw friendship of these two mob buddies and their fascinating world of CIA spies, fellow Mafioso in Chicago, Cuban exile commandos in Miami, beautiful Hollywood women, famous entertainers like Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack in Las Vegas, Castro's own spies in Havana and his double agents hidden in Florida, J. Edgar Hoover's FBI snooping, and the Kennedy administration's “Get Castro” obsession in Washington. Thomas Maier is among the first to take full advantage of the National Archives' 2017–18 release of the long-suppressed JFK files, many of which deal with the CIA's top secret anti-Castro operation in Florida and Cuba. With several new investigative findings, Mafia Spies is a spy exposé, murder mystery, and shocking true story that recounts America's first foray into the assassination business, a tale with profound impact for today's Trump era. The raid by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents on February 28, 1993, which resulted in the deaths of four ATF agents and six Branch Davidians, precipitated a 51-day siege conducted by the FBI. The FBI tank and gas assault on the residence at Mount Carmel Center on April 19 culminated in a fire that killed 53 adults and 23 children, with only nine survivors. In A Journey to Waco, survivor Clive Doyle not only takes readers inside the tragic fire and its aftermath, but he also tells the larger story of how and why he joined the Branch Davidians, how the Branch Davidian community developed, and the status of survivors. While the media and official reports painted one picture of the Branch Davidians and the two assaults, A Journey to Waco shares a much more personal account of the ATF raid, the siege, and the final assault that details events unreported by the media. A Journey to Waco presents what the Branch Davidians believed and introduces readers to the community's members, including David Koresh. Taking the reference from London's famous neighborhood once home to many great writers and artists, New York's Gramercy Park has similarly included noted cultural icons from architect Stanford White to actor Edwin Booth to the great politician Samual Tilden. Wandering along the park today it's easy to gain a view back into the past - many of the original Greek Revival brick townhouses and brownstone mansions remain, some still in private hands. The park in the center is one of the most unique in America - it is a private park, not a city property and it's upkeep has been managed since its inception in the early 19th century by the property owners around the park itself. Writer and historian Keith Taillon joins Carl for this episode to look back into this hidden pocket of New York City's past and unlock its history. The Gilded Gentleman website
This week, Sarah presents the first in a series of episodes covering some of the court cases that were dubbed "The Trial of the Century" in the 1900s. First up, the murder of architect Stanford White by Harry Thaw, the heir of a coal and rail baron. This story had all the earmarks of a sensational public scandal including a gorgeous young woman, passion, jealousy, and folks being super messy in the press. A millionaire shoots an architect at the premiere of a really bad musical in 1906. And yeah, it's probably because that millionaire has terrible mental health. But he says that he did it for his wife, Evelyn Nesbit. Listen to learn about how this murder came to be! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Christmas traditions evolved over the 19th century, combining influences from the days of the Dutch settlers with British practices inspired by the work of Dickens, and along the way, they became something truly American. In this special holiday episode, the Gilded Gentleman visits with Ann Haddad, House Historian of New York's 1832 Merchant's House Museum, and takes a look at how the well-to-do Tredwell family and their servants would have celebrated the holiday around mid-century. We then travel outside the city up to the Hudson Valley for a visit with Maria Reynolds, curator of the Mills Mansion in Staatsburgh, New York, a grand Stanford White designed country house right out of the Gilded Age. For the Mills family, the holidays of 1899 and 1900 in the country included many outdoor winter activities, including sledding and skating and even, with a great greenhouse on the estate, some special items served on holiday tables. And through some unique archival material, we'll even get a sense of just who may have come to visit for a holiday dinner.

Czerwiec, 1906. A special bonus episode from the Bowery Boys archives! Join Tom and Greg for an in-depth look at the architect that, as some have said, gave the Gilded Age its look. In the years before the great firm of McKim, Mead and White with its star architect Stanford White, another American born and Paris trained architect was translating European style with uniquely American taste. Richard Morris Hunt was one of the very first to establish architecture as an art form and his work included such iconic structures as the base of the Statue of Liberty, the grand facade and entrance hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as mansions for Mrs. Astor and the Vanderbilts. Join Tom and Greg for this uniquely fascinating look at Hunt's life and influence and how he brought a refinement and sense of art into American architecture. The Garden City Hotel in Long Island, New York with its distinctive cupola originally designed by Stanford White atop the structure, has been a landmark hostelry in New York for over 125 years. Here was the ground zero center of the global aviation universe for a couple of days in 1927, situated at the exact spot from where a young air mail pilot and soldier of fortune named Charles Lindbergh spent his last moments sleeping fitfully upstairs, resting his head on a pillow for a few hours, while downstairs the press corps plugged in the rest of the world to the news that an attempt was about to take place for one man to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone. Soon enough “The Lone Eagle”, as Lindy was dubbed, emerged from his slumbers and took the short ride over to Roosevelt Field in the early morning mist. The flight that changed the world took off in a tiny monoplane, heavy with fuel that caused it to barely skim over the tree tops at the end of the runway. From that point, the world held its breath and followed that flight. The next evening when Lindbergh landed at Le Bourget Field in France, the Garden City Hotel had hosted the first flier to cross the Atlantic. Today that Garden City Hotel no longer looks like it did in 1927: it was lost in a fire. In its place, The Garden City Hotel in 2022 is a big beautiful modern hostelry. It radiates opulence and success with few traces of its glorious past, aside from the one that has mattered for about 100 years. Surely this is the best place to celebrate reaching a milestone, with the greatest credentials tied to world avOn October 1st, EMO Trans Global Logistics people celebrated the 50th Anniversary of service to the U.S. In this place so hallowed to aviation the spirit and the finely crafted traditionalist hand of EMO U.S. founder, the late Joachim “Jo” Frigger was fondly remembered by Mr. EMO himself, Eckart Moltmann, who today at 84 travelled to honor and celebrate 50 years of service in the U.S. of the company now branded EMO Trans Global Logistics. EMO, an endearment attached to Eckart's name as a young man, ended up being used as an "easy to remember and pronounce" branding device for the company he created in Stuttgart in 1965 as a one-man shop. EMO on this past Saturday night fondly recalled his friendship with Jo and admitted that he never dreamed that eventually the company he began, “would end in 2022 as a global power.” But this night's celebration belonged to the visionary and inspirational leader of EMO Trans, Jo Frigger, his loss keenly felt in an outpouring of affection by those who knew him well. Today there is no doubt where the heart of EMO Trans beats: the EMO Trans World Headquarters, the seat of the global enterprise, is just down the street from the Garden City Hotel. Jo Frigger, it can be said without hesitation, is the person that put it all together in the U.S., half a century ago. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/geoffrey-arend/support
What a CreepSeason 17, Episode 4The Murder of Stanford WhiteArchitect Stanford White was one of New York's most revered architects who built the second Madison Square Garden & the Washington Square Arch, which stand today. In public, he was a bon vivant who moved with old school wealthy and the nouveau riche. He was also a creep who participated in the sexual assault of several young women as part of a group of entitled men in New York's high society. A Creep, Harry Thaw, killed him on June 25, 1906, because of one such assault on actress Evelyn Nesbit who was 16. The trials of Harry Thaw caught the nation's interest and are a part of NYC lore. In this episode, we will discuss the major players and what happened to Evelyn after she outlived the Creeps. In the heart of Greenwich Village sits the Jefferson Market Library, a branch of the New York Public Library, and a beautiful garden which offers a relaxing respite from the busy neighborhood. But a prison once rose from this very spot -- more than one in fact. While there was indeed a market at Jefferson Market -- dating back to the 1830s -- this space is more notoriously known for America's first night court (at the Jefferson Market Courthouse, site of today's library) and the Women's House of Detention, a facility which cast a gloom over the Village for over 40 years.Almost immediately after the original courthouse (designed by Frederick Clarke Withers and Calvert Vaux) opened in 1877, it was quickly overburdened with people arrested in the Tenderloin district. By 1910 a women's court opened here, and by the Jazz Age, the adjacent confinement was known as "the women's jail.”When the Women's House of Detention opened in 1931 -- sometimes referred to as the world's only Art Deco prison -- it was meant to improve the conditions for women who were held there. But the dank and inadequate containment soon became symbol of abuse and injustice. In this special episode -- recorded live at Caveat on the Lower East Side -- Tom and Greg are joined by Hugh Ryan, author of The Women's House of Detention: A Queer History of a Forgotten Prison to explore the detention center's place in both New York City history and LGBT history. How did the "House of D" figure into the Stonewall Uprising of 1969? Crime Fam, we're sorry to do you dirty this week, but we both have stories without happy endings. But we hope you'll forgive us, because this set of bloopers is my favorite yet!For the first story, Bailey brings us the hideous William Bradford Bishop, who had everyone in his life, as well as the United States Government, convinced he was an overachieving, trustworthy, top-notch guy. They were all wrong, and Bailey will tell you what he did to reveal himself. If you already know anything about the second story, you also know it's also not a happy one. Not for the murder victim, not for the perpetrator, and especially not for the pawn in the middle of their childish rivalry. This is the seventh Architect Mayhem (!!) and it focuses on the 1906 murder of Stanford White, and how Evelyn Nesbit was the most innocent victim in the tug-of-war between White and millionaire Harry Thaw. But really, the bloopers were fun. Stick around. We've been waiting for you, and we're glad you've made it. Get comfy, here we go.

So, why not bring them on to introduce the episode. Mary, from "True Crime in Academia," joins Andrew to deep dive the murder of Stanford White with author Simon Baatz. Simon wrote The Girl on the Velvet Swing: Sex, Murder, and Madness at the Dawn of the Twentieth Century (2018). A few hard hitting questions that Simon helps us answer include: Why did Harry Thaw murder Stanford White? What led Evelyn to the vaudeville stage? Why do so many erroneously think that Evelyn had a love affair with Stanford White? Simon explains why Evelyn's story is so relevant in our current moment and why Stanford White's predatory behavior connects to the #MeToo movement. Simon gives his opinion on how Evelyn, Harry, and Stanford have been represented in pop culture, including Ragtime (the novel and musical), The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing, and the new Gilded Age TV series. If you've never heard the name Stanford White and you've spent any time in NYC, you certainly know his work. Him and his firm McKim, Mead, and white designed many things in NYC from the Washington Park Arch to the Original Penn Station. But this is not a story about his creativity. It's a story about his toxic relationship Evelyn Nesbit which ultimately led to his murder at the hands of Harry Thaw. *Please note this story contains sexual assault and rape. On June 25th, 1906 Harry Kendall Thaw fatally shot renowned architect Stanford White on a rooftop in New York City. The trial that followed was deemed the trial of the century and revealed numerous scandals that had been kept behind closed doors for years. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Harry Thaw. Both Thaw and White fell in love with a girl named Evelyn Nesbit. Nesbit was called by some the Marilyn Monroe of her time. The feud between Harry Thaw and Stanford White escalated and ultimately ended in Thaw shooting White to death. The trials that followed introduced the public to a lot of information that was extremely scandalous in the early 1900s. There seems to be a running theme with this week's episode- and it's love triangles! Well, one might be more of a rhombus, not sure, let's just say, It's Complicated. Because how could we have Crimes of Passion without first having the passion? And who drives you more crazy than your significant other?? Evelyn Nesbitt was sometimes called the Marilyn Monroe of her times- a beautiful, photogenic and charming lady that had wealthy men falling at her feet. Kelsey pulls us onto the rollercoaster of life; her rise to fame, the drama of her love life, and her never-ending resilience. There's enough stories in her life to fill SEVERAL books (and it has). Love triangle #2 is more your standard variety- Boy meets girl, meets another girl, doesn't give up first girl. Chaos ensues. Parachutes are involved, it's not good. To complete the trifecta of terror, Alanna ends it off with a Simpsons-centric crime. You might remember him from such roles as Troy McClure, it's the murder of actor Phil Hartman. However, his legacy has been overshadowed by his shocking murder and the critical role that he played in the Gilded Age's “trial of the century.”

Her married life was a gothic misery. She lived with Harry in her mother-in-law's mansion, constrained by their small-minded small town Presbyterian values. They looked down on Evelyn, feeling that Harry had thrown himself away on this worthless show person, while Evelyn found them mindless and anti-intellectual, with no interest in books, music or art. Just money and their narrow view of Christianity. In other words, she was bored senseless, and in one of her memoirs wrote that she prayed that she might have "the patience to bear the burden of her spiritual friends". One day a minister friend of Mrs. Thaw's was annoyed by one of Evelyn's little dogs, so he kicked him. Evelyn swore at him like a fishwife. Harry was increasingly obsessed with White, grilling Evelyn about him obsessively for hours. Years before, White has paid to have Evelyn's teeth fixed. Harry took her to a dentist and had all the work (fillings, everything) taken out - and redone identically. He also had a photographer come to the house and had him take pictures of Evelyn in which she posed as Bluebeard's dead wives (Seriously. You can't make this stuff up). In June 1906, Mr. and Mrs. Thaw traveled to New York en route to London. They planned to take in dinner and a show at Madison Square Garden (an odd choice, considering Thaw's obsessive hatred of Stanford White). They had dinner at Café Martin, where they saw White across the room, who was there with his son. Evelyn began to panic, worried about what Thaw would do. They proceeded to Madison Square Garden to see a new show called "Mamzelle Champagne". The show wasn't very good and Evelyn said she would have been bored had sh not been so apprehensive about what would happen when White inevitably arrived, and sat at the table that was permanently reserved for him. The Architect arrived at the rooftop theater, a teenaged chorus girl on his arm. As the song "I Could Love a Million Girls" was sung, Harry got up from the table. A moment later, a gunshot was heard and pandemonium broke out as people realized Stanford White was dead, shot through the skull, and Harry Thaw was the killer.

It's a story worthy of a modern-day soap opera: Successful millionaires fight for the love of a young, beautiful, popular actress, creating a love triangle filled with luxury, social status (and the occasional meddling mother-in-law.) But it's also a story that we've seen recently, and in real life - wealthy, older men raping and trafficking underage girls, a murder of a ringleader, and millionaires going without punishment for committing various crimes. In a story filled with Jeffrey Epstein parallels, in this episode we talk about the murder of New York architect Stanford White; Harry Thaw, the man who killed him, and Evelyn Nesbit, the girl they fought over - and how this killing uncovered a disgusting part of the underbelly of the New York high. society scene of the 1900s.

Evelyn Nesbit was one of the great American beauties, a Gibson girl who captured many hearts. Two in particular, famed architect Stanford White, and Harry Thaw, bon vivant and heir to a massive fortune, found themselves in a shocking triangle of violence, madness, obsession and, ultimately, murder.
The Comics Alternative is excited to have Rick Geary back on the show. The guys had last talked to him two years ago, after the publication of A Treasury of Victorian Murder Compendium, Vol. 1, and now Rick is returning to the podcast to discuss his brand new book, Louise Brooks: Detective (NBM). Although similar in tone to his historical murder mysteries, this is a very different kind of narrative for Rick. Here he uses the biography of silent film star, Louise Brooks, as a springboard for a fictional tale set in Depression-era Kansas (a setting with familial roots for Rick). After her heyday as a silent movie star, the toast of both America and Europe society, and a divorcée from two unsuccessful marriages, a still-young Louise returns to her family home of Wichita to regroup and assess her life. There, she attempts to readjust to small-town living, tries her hand at becoming a writer, and eventually becomes embroiled in an elaborate and seemingly indecipherable mystery involving a once-famous playwright. Andy and Derek tell Rick that this is one of the most tightly wrought narratives they've read this year, with the kind of pacing and art that define his best Treasury pieces. They even ask him if this is the beginning of a new series of tales, one where Brooks becomes a sleuth in the mold of Miss Marple or Nancy Drew. (There are no plans yet, but the very end of the Louise Brooks:Detective definitely leaves that door open.) The guys also talk with Rick about his other projects, including his previous book, Madison Square Tragedy: The Murder of Stanford White, his adaptation of classic works of literature for both Eureka Productions' Graphic Classics and Seven Stories Press' Graphic Canon series, his fascination of architecture and period dress, and his plans for future historical murder mysteries. Rick tells the guys about a few of his upcoming projects, including a new work based on the 1947 Black Dahlia case and his soon-to-be-launched Kickstarter campaign, "Murder at the Hollywood Hotel." Unfortunately, the guys didn't have the time to ask Rick about everything they wanted to discuss with him -- e.g., his upcoming appearance at the SDCC and his work on last year's A is for Antichrist: Obama's Conspiracy Alphabet -- but there is nonetheless a lot packed into this interview. It is a fun and informative conversation, and the guys look forward to the time that they can have Rick back on the show for a third interview.
