Super Luck's Tale might be a sequel but many will never of heard of this Fox's first outing since it was VR exclusive. Super Luck's Tale looks to bring its platforming cuteness to the Xbox and PC crowd but the question is, how good is it? On this episode of Game Pass or Pass Cory and Basher take a look at this platform and discover that a weird camera system and lack of challenge might just make this a pass for Xbox Game Pass Subscribers. Super Lucky's Tale is available on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/game-pass-or-pass/message
Welcome to Geekscape’s newest gaming podcast, Xbox Game Passengers. Every other Wednesday, host Derek and a guest will dissect and discuss just one game available on Microsoft’s Game Pass service, which was chosen for them completely at random. Whether it’s a magical or a horrible experience, they’ll force themselves through it, share their thoughts, and let you know whether or not the game is worth your time! At the end of each episode, they’ll also randomly select the game for the following show. We're super excited for this episode. Geekscape Games (RIP) alumni Shane O'Hare joins Derek to talk about, well, a lot of things. The duo dish about the old days, tell some inside jokes, the Divergent series, and of course, Xbox Game Studios' surprisingly entertaining platformer, Super Lucky's Tale. Shane also tells us about his initial Xbox Game Pass impressions, and naturally this episode was recorded just before Xbox Game Pass for PC was officially announced, so if it sounds a little out of date, it's because things have changed a lot with Xbox Game Pass in the past couple of months! "A delightful, playground platformer for all ages that follows Lucky, the ever-optimistic, energetic, and lovable hero, on his quest to find his inner strength and help his sister rescue the Book of Ages from Jinx. Jinx is the scheming and mysterious villain trying to reshape the world, but for what reason?" We’ve had a blast making Xbox Game Passengers so far, and we really hope that you’re enjoying it too! If you have any feedback for us, we’d love to hear it at derek@geekscape.net. Anything you listeners can do to help spread the word about the podcast would be immensely appreciated — from sharing it on social media like Facebook or Twitter, to leaving us five stars (or even a review) on Apple Podcasts, to sending it to a single friend, it can all make a massive difference! Thanks again for coming along on this ride! You can also follow us on twitter @XGPPodcast Theme Song: I Adore My C64 by Nicolai Heidlas from HookSounds.com
Hey everyone! After the onslaught of information that was E3, we are finally back with the show, and BOY do we have a lot to talk about. We kick things off with Bally who has been hopping and bopping around Zelda land in Cadence of Hyrule, which was recently released on Switch. He also checks in with some Star Wars VR, takes the stage for his Kingdom Hearts minute and closes thoughts on Steam World Quest. Nbz meanwhile has been in the Game Pass afterglow and has been checking out a bunch of games on the service, including Super Lucky's Tale (which is headed to Switch), Forza Horizon 4 and finally The Gardens Between. But that's not all folks, as Nbz backed Bloodstained Ritual of the Night years ago he finally gets his hands in the game and is more impressed that he expected to be! After the break we do a big old E3 discussion, chatting about the Treehouse as well as our predictions and some of your thoughts on E3 overall. I also take time to chat about my picks so far for Game of the Year if it ended today!

In our news section, we talk about the Burnout Paradise Remaster, Warcraft rumblings, both Sonic racing and movies, Doom's patch on Switch, and the Megaman Legacy Collection ports. We also take a look at copyright laws for online games and finish up with a small haiku session, where we describe different games via haiku and try to guess what they are. Come pause with us!

143: Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Evil Within 2, And Ruiner Here we are already in the month of December. It's hard to believe. The gang is all together ready to bring you the games we'd played this week. First up, Anthony. He's here to give you the lowdown on Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Yeah, you may have heard the reviews online about the game. Some good, some bad. Yet, no review is complete without the Tangent review, and Anthony brings just that. Then he's got a bit more Pokemon Ultra Sun. He beat it and the horse dead, as he still brings up the painful text in the game. Next up, Gary. He's playing The Evil Within 2. And when he's not crapping his pants from the mannequins, he's generally having a good time. Be sure to check him streaming the game over at our Twitch. Then he's on to Ruiner, a top down twin-sticks shooter. Think 80s. Gary's week isn't complete without Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed. The game is a mouth-full and it's very Mario Kart-like. We also have Stephen, and him and Brian talk Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Leaf tickets, man, they're a racket. Lastly, Brian hits kindergarten with Super Lucky's Tale. He finds it hard to believe they even released this game. If you have kids the game could be for you. What week is complete without some drunk news? As always, we bring it to you. Microsoft delayed Crackdown 3 to next year, and the publisher doesn't have a lot of other releases to fill in the gaps for its upcoming holiday season. On this week's episode of the GamesBeat Decides podcast, managing editor Jason Wilson, reviews editor Mike Minotti, and I (PC gaming editor Jeffrey Grubb) try to figure out what the hell Microsoft is doing. The Xbox One X is launching November 7 for $500, and Microsoft is focusing on what the upgraded console will do for your current library. The company doesn't have a choice when it comes to that pitch because it is only publishing 4 games in all of 2017. Those include Halo Wars 2, Forza Motorsport 7, Super Lucky's Tale, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for Xbox One. We explain some of the reasons why Microsoft has retreated from making its own games, and we talk about why it is probably still important to have a strong first-party lineup. Additionally, we talk about the news and how Sonic the Hedgehog was never good regardless of Minotti's confusion.
