Happy Wine Wednesday!  We are leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe and heading to Palmetto, Florida for another installment of our special pilot project series.  Special guest Candi joins us to discuss the pilot episode of TNT's Claws.Our discussion kicks off with the Candi/Jocelyn origin story, which began thanks to Twitter and the ill-fated Universal Fan Con.  We then get into the main discussion and share how we became acquainted with the TNT dark comedy, Claws.  We share the sh*t we liked about the pilot and call out a few questionable writing decisions that we did not like in an otherwise solid episode.As always, we get into the Qs that need some As, which includes an examination of some very questionable decisions by Roller.  We discuss nail shop rituals, whether Virginia can be trusted, and the fun fashions worn by the ladies.Claws is a cast of heavy hitters, so of course we shared our thoughts on the performances that grabbed our attention in the pilot.  And no episode of I'ma Need More Wine would be complete without getting a little thirsty.  We had lots of thoughts on who from the cast we would like to dig our claws into during some sexy time.As always, we love you for listening.  Find and follow Candi on Twitter here.Follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @MoreWinePod! Black folks literally debating slavery and how folks could've gotten out of it due to what Kanye West said) * how folks felt about the Childish Gambino "This Is America" music video and song * various TV folks have watched lately (including CW's "Black Lightening") * various news stories of note (including the young Black ladies who entered a NASA contest and got racists mad online; the Native American students who were discriminated against at Colorado State University during a college tour and then some) * our mini-reviews of Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War" (full of spoilers) * And more! You'd think after Universal FanCon spectacularly crashed and burned, co-founders Robert Butler and Jamie Broadnax would keep a low profile and not say anything. Particularly since every time they speak on the issue, they make it worse. You'd probably think that because you have the intelligence to know that the more you speak the more you make yourself look bad. You probably also have an ounce of shame that's apparently completely absent from anyone involved with ScamCon. Late Monday afternoon, Vulture posted this piece The Story Behind FanCon's Controversial Collapse and it makes everyone involved look even worse.  First there's Butler inexplicably blaming a "lack of support" from the blerd community as the cause of the collapse and not the fact that he used 80% of the Kickstarter funds as a deposit for the Baltimore Convention Center. Then there's Jamie claiming she's the one who informed the hotels that they couldn't pay their $70,000 bill even though she previously claimed she had no idea how or why the hotels canceled reservations. It quickly becomes clear that Universal FanCon was all about rubbing elbows with celebrities and not building and serving the community.
