If you've been feeling resentful in your open relationship, this episode is for you.In Episode 147 of Nope, We're Not Monogamous, I break down why resentment in non-monogamy is rarely about jealousy or bad communication. It's usually about boundaries.Specifically:The boundary you didn't setThe boundary you didn't enforceOr the agreement your body never truly consented toSo many people in ethical non-monogamy confuse boundaries with rules, agreements, or ultimatums. When that happens, resentment builds quietly under the surface. In this episode, we explore the difference between:Personal boundaries and relationship agreementsBoundaries and ultimatumsAutonomy and self-abandonmentIf you've ever tried to be the “cool partner,” agreed to something you weren't actually okay with, or said “I'm fine” when you weren't… this conversation will help you see what resentment is really pointing to.Because resentment isn't random. It's information. And it might be telling you it's time to stop bulldozing yourself in the name of being evolved.

Ethereal Encounters Unveiled welcomes Maria Toso Thursday, November 13th, 2025 LIVE 11-13 at 5 PM EST Topic: Heal What Hurts: The Process That Gets Results When Therapy Fails Bio: Yoga Teacher, Author, and Energy Guide, Maria is sparking a movement to remember the healing power of loving presence as the Divine within. Fed up with the endless cycle of lashing out, numbing out, or checking out, thousands of people turn to Maria's Heal What Hurts method to heal emotional triggers at their root. Her approach is based on a profound truth: the dynamics we find ourselves in are precise manifestations of the programming held in the energy field of the body. Just as a projection on a screen can only be changed by clearing the lens, our painful life stories will keep repeating until the energetic contractions in the body are dissolved. Maria's method teaches us to meet these contractions with loving presence. In doing so, we clear the energy field, realign with the Divine Light we truly are, and remember our original wholeness. Being triggered becomes not a trap but a sacred opportunity to return to love, flow, and authentic connection. Originally from Denmark, Maria has lived in Minnesota since 1998. She has taught Yoga Teacher Training in the Minnesota College system since 2015 and has led retreats across the U.S. and Europe. Her new book, Heal What Hurts: How to Heal Emotional Triggers (Llewellyn Worldwide, September 2025), introduces her eight-step process for transforming emotional pain into a path of spiritual growth and embodied presence. She now teaches Heal What Hurts in small group settings online, through retreats, and in private sessions. Book: Heal What Hurts: Get it on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4nRfeoZ https://www.mariatoso.com

Can tech stave off a surge of synthetic spokespeople?  That is one question we discussed when I had Nick Toso on the podcast. He's the founder and CEO of Rolli, an AI-powered platform that provides state-of-the-art tools and resources for newsgathering.Nick began his career in newsrooms (started at Voice of America, eventually becoming a bureau chief at CNN) and saw the need for a better way to find expert sources, leading him to launch Rolli six years ago.The subject should be of greatinterest to journalists, and PR pros who want to increase success with Tier 1 and 2 media, especially broadcast. We had a wide-ranging conversation, covering these points and others:The challenges of finding expert sources for breaking news. How is Rolli different (do we need another news source matching service)? Why email pitching your spokeseople has low odds for success. How AI amplifies email pitch spam, and fake info and profiles.Rolli cuts through the AI fog, connecting busy newsrooms with just the right source on demand. Thanks, Nick, for coming on the podcast and sharing your insight.Check it out at https://rolli.ai/You can find Nick on LInkedInhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/nicktoso/

You'll learn why meditative and somatic practices can soothe your nervous system, release cycles of pain, and support you to reclaim your inner freedom.About the Guest:Maria Toso is a Danish-born author, yoga teacher trainer, and somatic healing coach with more than fifteen years of experience teaching therapeutic yoga and trauma-informed practices. She is the creator of the Heal What Hurts method, an eight-step process that unites the physical and spiritual dimensions of healing to help people move beyond trauma and transform emotional triggers into pathways of growth.Maria teaches that triggers are not just thoughts but energetic knots stored in the body as the very negative patterns we unconsciously repeat until they are healed by being held in loving presence within the body's energy system. Through meditative and somatic practices, she guides people to calm their nervous systems, release cycles of pain, and reclaim inner freedom. Her debut book, Heal What Hurts: How to Heal Emotional Triggers (Llewellyn Worldwide, 2025), shows how meeting emotional pain with loving presence will gradually dissolve fear-based contractions and deepen our inherent connection to the Divine, restoring vitality and manifesting as more authentic relationships. TranscriptThis morning I downloaded and logged into InstagramSomething I haven't done in a month or twoI mostly got off of the platform because I don't really think it's doing good things for humanityThe problem is so many people use itTheir communication and time is used up on itAnd many people have a picture of their reality from itAnd so to not participate is somehow to not exist as a creative personThis is something I've been ruminating on for yearsBut this is just such a short note because what I saw on there this morning, after I made a post about possibly selling some prints to support my schooling, was the two of the most extreme directions that humanity participates in, which are death and birthDeath and birthAnd I saw them in extremely gross expressionsI saw an explosion on a roadwayI saw a giant fireball engulfing cars in a place that I have no idea if I've ever been to or will ever go to or know any of the people or even if it's realBecause it very well and even likely could have been something that an application generatedI don't even like to use the word, but artificial intelligenceIt was probably thatIt probably wasn't even realAnother thing I saw was a video of someone getting slapped so hard that they passed outBut it wasn't only thatIt was an AI-generated image that showed his face collapsing in an unbelievable wayBut it wasn't realBut if someone's just scrolling and they're not paying attention and they see these things, they think, oh, this is realThat just happenedSomething I thought could never happen just happened in front of my very eyesAnd so that's deathThat's actually the death of the human spiritThat is complete collapse and destructivenessBasically to be creating fear through falsehoodAnd then on the other side, I saw a picture of a woman in a dressCould have been AII don't knowI don't know the contextI didn't click on the imageBut she was standing in a shimmery dressAnd so these images..I guess I should add that the dress was very tight-fittingSo basically what I saw was extreme violence and pornographyThat's what is being shown in the algorithmic feed on Instagram that people in general are just being subjected toSo what do we do with that? Well, I reported every single post that I sawIt's not going to change anythingIt's not going to do anythingBut it made me feel better to at least do somethingIn fact, it might make it worseIt only took me about five seconds to do these thingsBut I think it was worth itThe point of this, though, isn't to blame the Instagram platform and the creators for being evil, even though they areEven though the platform is destructive and horrific and terrible and uselessIt's also useful and creative and profound and abundantThe fact is, everything in the world ends up being related to these thingsTo skate along on the surface and believe that these experiences won't touch us is impossibleBut by interacting with the world through a screen, it seems like we can have some distance from the realitiesAnd we can just entertain ourselves by watching them instead of engaging with our livesAnd I think that this is extremely dangerous, and actually more dangerous than being shown violenceI think what's more dangerous is complacency and lack of connection and engagement with life, which is what these platforms really wantThey want you to just feel fear, feel lust, and then not do anything about itJust to consume more fear and more lustThat's the goalBut there's something profound beneath all of this, which is that the reality of fear and desire is inescapable in lifeBut the fact is, we have to be in control of our fears and desiresAnd it doesn't matter what the world shows us or serves us, what the algorithm displays, if we can't keep a center, there's no hopeRight now, it's election day, and the political stratum is basically birth and deathNot a positive form of birth and death, but the most deranged formsIs one better than another? I don't knowIt's all part of a cycleThe cycle doesn't want to endSo, we have to be the endI don't really know what that means, but I'm going to keep engaging with my internal world, with my internal workStaying true to what I know is important and what mattersI'm going to keep focusing on what is beautiful, and what seems powerful to meAnd I won't let my center be swayed by violence and lustThank you for listening.
