In episode #133 Chris sits down with Sanni Paljakka and Tom Stone Carlson, authors of So You Want to Do Narrative Therapy? Letters to an Aspiring Narrative Therapist. Together, they discuss the inspiration behind their innovative book, which blends real client transcripts, personal reflections, and practical guidance into a heartfelt conversation for therapists in training. This week's roundtable will include New Afrikan Brothas Sangu, Sanni and Scorpion speaking on the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and how his radical legacy informs our work forward in the Black Liberation Struggle. Our conversation is guided by various Dr. King quotes chosen by each of our guests. Prison Focus Radio centers the voices, stories and commentary of our People in California experiencing penal slavery, a crime against humanity. We intentionally and purposefully highlight New Afrikan California former and current Political Prisoners who organized the Historic California Hunger Strikes, authored the Agreement to End Hostilities, developed Black August Memorial/Black August Resistance and survived decades of torture in solitary confinement in Pelican Bay and Corcoran state prisons euphemistically called “security housing units- SHUs, meant to break the revolutionary mind. We will not let up on exposing the terror and genocide plaguing our People in prisons throughout amerikkka inc., nor the powerful show of revolutionary love and unity to resist it. Kan't stop, Won't stop All Power to the People Liberate Our Elders Free Em All! Free Palestine!
It's a new year, and also another day. But if we allow, let's make space for deep breaths, deep reflection and deep connection – we gotta got each other and hold tight… This week we “round table” with New Afrikan Brothas Sangu, Sanni and Faruk, formerly and currently experiencing legal slavery and racial injustice. Covering various topics including the, yet again, filmed murder of a Black Man, Robert Brooks, captive in a NY prison by prison guards. And also an excerpt of Against the Grain podcast which aired on KPFA 94.1/KPFA.com, Dec. 31, 2024, interview with Rachel Leah Klein, about her article, “Surviving Domestic and State Violence…” We won't let up on exposing the terror and genocide plaguing our people in prisons throughout amerikkka inc., but especially in California. Kan't stop, Won't stop All Power to the People Liberate Our Elders Free Em All! Free Palestine!
We continue our roundtable discussions with New Afrikan former and current Political Prisoners, Brothas Sangu, Sanni and Ghais. Together these New Afrikan men represent close to a hundred years of captivity in California's penal plantations and still count themselves among the unbroken. We will center our conversation around the impending implications of the passing of Proposition 36 in the 2024 election cycle which seeks to criminalize poor, houseless and desperate community members to funnel them into prisons, jails and detention centers, and what we can do about – because we can always assert our power and do something about these continued assaults on our humanity. We won't let up on exposing the terror and genocide plaguing our people in prisons – and on the streets – throughout amerikkka inc., but especially in California. Kan't stop, Won't stop All Power to the People Liberate Our Elders Free Em All! Free Palestine!

2080-luvulla, Sanni

Yksilöiden työllistyminen on kaikkien etu. Mitä hyötyä niistä on? Missä Suomessa mennään metaversumin kehittämisessä verrattuna kansainvälisiin toimijoihin? Vieraina jaksossa ovat Business Finlandin Immersive Digital Life -mission johtaja Sanni Siltanen sekä Stereoscapen Industrial XR Solutions -johtaja Kenneth Korhonen, jotka kertovat, mitä uusia liiketoimintamahdollisuuksia immersiivisen teknologian alueella on näköpiirissä.
Sanni McCandless Honnold has built a career at the intersection of life design and the outdoors. She started her professional life at an energy efficiency-focused tech startup in Seattle called EnergySavvy. Outwild hosts three day experiences where participants learn how to reprioritize their values and push their comfort zone in the outdoors. When she's not living in her van, Sanni can be found in Las Vegas, Nevada where she enjoys year-round rock climbing and endless desert views. She's there to plan with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable.

Why is the idea of earning 6 figures of revenue so coveted? And why are we willing to make *so* many sacrifices to get there? In this episode of Mistakes That Made Me, I interview self-transformation coach LaYinka Sanni about how she dropped thousands of pounds on a coach that promised her she could make 6 figures A MONTH...when she wasn't even making £1000 a month. LaYinka quickly realised she wasn't ready for this programme, and she was left feeling worse about her ability to run a successful business. You'll hear how LaYinka came to terms with her mistake and how she eventually achieved business success. We also break down why she was so focused on earning 6 figures, so early on in her career. I first encountered Sanni probably the same way you did - watching the Oscar-winning documentary Free Solo.Dating legendary climber Alex Honnold, Sanni struck me as a beautiful and brave soul as she supported the man she loves as he climbed El Capitan (2.5x as tall as the Empire State Building!) with NO ROPE. In this episode, Panu and Thomas are joined by Finnish therapists Sanni Saarimäki and Taneli Saari to discuss the Finnish “scene” around eco-anxiety and climate emotions. After discussing their own paths towards working with climate emotions, Sanni and Taneli introduce both the Finnish National Project and Tunne ry (an organization focusing on eco-emotions), whose work is apparently the first such project funded at a national level in the world. Together the four discuss the Shouting Man project as a unique and cathartic way to express climate emotions and also explore the role of therapy methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in a climate and environmental context.
Diversity is a critical factor for many job seekers nowadays. Not knowing if the company you're applying for is really committed to diversity, equity and inclusion can lead you into a trap. In this episode, we are talking to Ekow Sanni-Thomas, the Founder and CEO of Inside Voices. He also shares: His first-hand experience with racial discrimination from his previous work The discriminatory patterns from co-workers that you should watch out for The emotional and mental impact of racism Why it's difficult for victims of racial discrimination to specify race as the motive behind the treatment How Inside Voices works - what it does to empower job seekers and the change it hopes to achieve in the workplace The difference in terms of workplace experience of people of color in the UK vs the US What do companies, and the society, need to do to increase workplace diversity and inclusion Hit play to hear all these and more. This week we have storytelling about inside voices with Ekow Sanni-Thomas. During this episode, Ekow and I talk about how practitioners make the business case or the use case for purchasing inside voices.Ekow is an expert in all things DEI and incentives. Before founding inside voices, Ekow spent 13 years in corporate finance, largely in real estate, in London and New York. Initially, inside voices was started due to exclusion and racism he experienced firsthand at companies with active diversity initiatives in place. His experience was that they walked the talk, but they did not perpetuate practice through culture and had no accountability to prove this.Founded in 2020, inside voices is a platform in which employees can anonymously report company racial DEI performance. This gives candidates a place to review these companies from the inside, protect their safety and make more informed choices before joining a team. His passion to expose racism and inequality within businesses and protecting marginalized individuals really comes through during the podcast.
