British author J.R. Hensby joins us from the U.K.WAS ELVIS MURDERED?AND OTHER TRUE CRIMES FROM THE DARK SIDE OF DIXIEThe shock was felt around the world when it was announced on August 16th 1977 that the world's biggest superstar, Elvis Presley, the King of Rock-n-Roll, had died at the age of only forty-two. Since then there has been much speculation about what actually happened on that fateful day. Did he die of natural causes? Did he commit suicide? Did he die of a drug overdose? Did he not die at all? Or was he murdered? The author, a massive fan of Elvis, examines in great detail all the available evidence relating to these possible scenarios and gives an opinion about what did happen to Elvis all those years ago. That is the main story in the book, but additionally there are detailed true accounts of twelve horrible crimes committed in the beautiful Deep South of America: Young black boys who were electrocuted without any fair trial, women who murdered family members with impunity for years, a Baptist Minister who murdered the church handyman....... and much more.Illustrated with 20 full page photos.https://www.amazon.com/WAS-ELVIS-MURDERED-OTHER-CRIMES-ebook/dp

ABOUT AMERICA YOUNG America Young was awarded the 2020 Humanitarian award by UCSD for her work promoting women in the film industry. America Young is currently working in Film, TV, Animation and Video Games, as a Director, stunt coordinator and stunt woman.  To date, she has directed for Network TV, two features, a season of an animated show, a video game and four digital series. She has stunt coordinated on projects for Warner Bros, Netflix, Lifetime and Cannal Plus.  And worked on 65 video games. Having stunt coordinated for years, America transitioned to directing seven years ago. While having a solid foundation in action, she is also known for her ability to bring out the best performances in actors, both drama and comedy, while translating subtle and rich story points visually on screen.  The projects she has helmed have a wide range from a drag queen comedy to sci-fi action to fantasy action to coming of age drama to exploring domestic violence in a superhero universe. Her first feature, “The Concessionaires Must Die!!” executive produced by Stan Lee, (www.cmdthemovie.com) is now available on Itunes, Amazon and other VOD platforms. Her most recent digital series, “Whatta Lark”, that pairs a quiet, introverted woman with the fiercest and loveliest of Drag Queens can be watched on Amazon. “Protectress”, a Xena-inspired fantasy, winner of several awards including Best Action, Best Director and Best Fantasy on the festival circuit, is being developed into a feature.  She has several features she is attached to in deveoplment.  She also directed the cinematics for Resident Evil: Shadows of Rose which was name #8 video game of the year by Time Magazine. America was pivotal in the rebranding of Barbie with the Barbie Vlog in 2015 and directed the critically acclaimed season of the Barbie motion capture animated series for Mattel which was featured on VICE, Vogue, Glamour and Newsweek among other publications.  It has been viewed on youtube over 150 million times and went from 500k subscribers to nearly 11.6 million in the time she has been working on the Brand. Her second feature, “Back to Lyla” which is Alice in Wonderland meets Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind inspired, was acquired by 1091 and released June 2022.  Upon completion of the Warner Bros directing program, she successfully entered the TV world, directing an episode of Blindspot (aired May, 2020) and Legacies (aired 1/23/20) with glowing feedback from both teams.  She has now directed 17 episodes of TV since for Netflix, Amazon, Blumhouse, Warner Bros, CBS, BET+ and at the end of 2021 she directed the pilot of Surfside Girls for Apple TV which got a full season order and released in 2022. She is a proud founder of The Chimaera Project, a nonprofit that gives opportunities to women in the film & media arts (www.chimaeraproject.org). When America's not kicking the crap out of Super-Heroes that support the Superhuman Registration Act, jumping off buildings, teaching actors how to fight or setting herself on fire, she enjoys telling stories, sipping herbal tea and sharpening her pair of Sai. https://americayoung.com/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theworkingdirector/message

The Young Americans were New York’s next generation of artists, intellectuals, and activists, and reformers, many of whom were inspired by the Loco-Foco movement, which challenged Tammany Hall for supremacy in the Democratic Party from 1835 to 1837. Their philosophies generally came from the great classical liberals, radicals like Tom Paine and William Leggett, equal in stature to most Young Americans, and they shared a deep faith in America’s world historical destiny. A Young American might have been in either party, but their philosophy [00:03:00] was almost always some strain of Loco-Focoism.Further Reading:Comegna, “Art as Ideas: Thomas Cole’s The Course of Empire” and “The Artist as Exemplar: Thomas Cole’s The Voyage of Life”John L. She had her first major publication in her local newspaper's entertainment section while a sophomore in high school, a publication in another state paper followed. Aisha has been contributing to various paper, magazines and textbooks for over 15 years. In addition to her time as an instructor of social sciences in higher education, Aisha has served as a director of education and policy research centers, and on the staff of legislative commissions. Aisha previously served on the Executive Board of the CT Young Democrats Women's Caucus and has remained active in politics and public policy. She is an alumni of Albertus Magnus College and Fisk University where she earned Bachelor's in Communications and Master's Degree in Psychology, respectively, and completed the Education Policy Fellowship Program in 2008. Currently, Aisha is Senior Editor for BookTrib, a division of the literary public relations firm, Meryl Moss Media and a HuffPost contributor. This is our first attempt at incorporating listener feedback in our programme, and one of the lessons that we learned is to ask just one question per episode. The discussions became too long, thus, we had to split this episode into two parts.Majority of Part 1 is about the Twilight DVD and the New Moon Casting Rumours. Part 2 contains our 2008 Year In Review. For Part 1, once again, we'd just like to say that we love Edi Gathegi and all the jokes in this episode were made in the spirit of fun speculation. You know, when they finish filming for the day, sometimes they go to one of the cast's trailer to just hang out, play instruments and sing. I think it will be interesting to watch them perform music.Sheri: Probably the auditions. It would be nice to see the first time Kristen and Rob kissed. And also for us to have a glimpse of those who auditioned for Edward's role.Anna Nicolette: The "Lion and the Lamb" part wherein Esme was the one to utter the quote not Edward. The delivery would've been more fitting rather than just being blurted out by Edward.Alex Jo: I wish it also have an audio commentary by the author of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer. And I wish that it has lyrics of "Bella's Lullaby". And I also wished that the cover has an autograph by Miss Stephenie Meyer.Riyah: Maybe most of the fans would also like the BLOOPERS portion while making the movie to be included in the DVD as well. And also for me specially, I'd prefer if they include the video where Rob pattinson audition for the role of Edward.Jacq/Amala: I know this sounds crazy but I would have wanted to have the DVDs signed by the cast. ahaha Well, aside from that, I would want them to at least have an exclusive interview of the cast and everybody behind the movie. More behind the scenes maybe...Rome: A Blooper or Gag Reel, More BTS footage: the ones shown in Rome and Madrid comes to mind, hope it's included in the 7-part docuPrezeuz: i really want to see how the stars auditioned for the roles.. haha!Melissa: For the Twilight DVD, it would be nice to include a feature on the Rome Film Festival when Twilight debut the 8-minute clip. It would be a blast to hear those Twilighters screaming, maybe even see our very own Amala Thea, our official TCP correspondent from Rome. Also, maybe clips from the LA movie premiere and other premieres from other parts of the globe (Madrid, Italy, etc.) and just basically capture the craziness and the cast/director's reactions to it.Kai: I'm not really sure if there's a blooper reel on the DVD ( -- is there?) If there's none, then, I'd like that. Mainly because I would like to see Rob and Kristen loosen up a bit, you know? I think fans would like to see them out of their "Why so serious face/s". ;)) I also would like to see alternate endings / cuts or whatnot. You know, the same scene but from a different angle or camera shot or clip. It'll be interesting to see what shots were not used and could be used for that scene and compare it.Liam: Ge, Xin, Rome, Echo, and I were talking about the Tagalog translation of Twilight lines. As what Rome posted in the Tagalugin Mo thread, it's quite interesting to see a Tagalog dubbed Bella-Edward Kissing Scene. Plus, I think it should be dubbed by 2 of the most promising members of the TCP Forum. It will be totally cool (and hilarious hehehe) to have that in the DVD.Elizabeth: The Audition. (not sure if this is part of the documentary: "The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen", which is among the special features) I would want to see how the actors convince the Producers, Meyer and everyone that they are good for the role. plus, i kinda think that they try on different roles before 'landing' on their final role. I think it's fun...seeing another actor play somebody's role...Miami Ink - Official Website | About Ami JamesMusic Used This Week:Opening Credits - Immortalize Me by SalientIntro Spiel - Excerpt from Charlie's Angels Theme (2000) by Apollo 440 | Buy AlbumSegment Transitions - Excerpts from Dinner With His Family by Carter Burwell and I Would Be The Meal by Carter Burwell from Twilight: The Score | Buy AlbumEnd Credits - Excerpt from Cold Ground by Mark Seliger's Rusty Truck | Buy AlbumEpisode Edited by: Clair de LuneDanag Logo Artwork: Paul MendozaThank You: Rome, Echo, and all the listeners who sent in their answers for this episode's questionsIf you want to participate in our discussions or if you have topic suggestions, comments, and questions, please send them to:twilightcoven(at)gmail(dot)comFor the latest news in the Twilight Saga, visit our blog:twilightcovenph.blogspot.com
