If you're a leader at any level, at any organization, thinking about important topics like burnout, employee well-being, diversity, hybrid and remote work, there is a wealth of knowledge dropped in this 45min episode with the research backed best practices for redesigning work to be more flexible, inclusive, and connected.MORE ABOUT BRIANBrian Elliot is an Advisor, Speaker, Builder, Best-Selling Author, Co-founder of Future Forum and former Exec at Slack & Google. Over the past two years, the response to the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant acceleration of a set of trends impacting how we work. Many organizations dealing with these forced changes simply took the approach to ‘retrofit' their office-bound existing habits and practices to accommodate remote working. However, some companies have gone further by rethinking and redesigning core operating principles such as onboarding, innovation, or creativity to re-engineer the business for greater flexibility. For episode # 48 of the World Class Leaders Show podcast, I'm very happy to bring you a fascinating conversation I had on LinkedIn with Brian Elliott, the executive leader of Future Forum. Brian has an amazing track record of leading teams and building companies, as a CEO of several start-up firms, a product leader at Google, and a senior vice president at Slack. Brian's new book “How the Future Works; Leading Flexible Teams to Do the Best Work of their Lives” was co-authored with Sheela Subramanian and Helen Kupp. By listening to this podcast episode, you will learn more about Brian Elliot's experiences at Slack and with the Future Forum. Brian shares the learning: What type of work flexibility is most important? The impact on talent — building competitive advantage through work model redesign. Steps to take in defining the rules of the game – one size does not fit all. Potential pitfalls to be aware of, and how to move the process forward, with guidelines and examples for team agreements. If you'd like to learn more about Brian Elliot's work, visit the website https://futureforum.com/. Brian can also be followed via LinkedIn, at https://www.linkedin.com/in/belliott/. On today's episode of Dream Day Radio we're joined by Brian Elliot, co-founder of Wove. Wove is on a mission to help you create the world's best engagement ring by bringing you a personal, customizable experience. Couples can get a one-of-a-kind replica to try out their design before they buy. This high-touch experience between couples and designers is collaborative and fun. While individuals are encouraged to shop with Wove, there is a growing trend for couples to go through the design process together. There's flexibility, so you can approach the ring design and purchase whatever way works best for you. The number-one mistake couples make when choosing an engagement ring is not bringing a team effort. This can cause unwanted stress on both sides. It's important to lean into working together, not just on the ring design, but also as they move forward in life. An interesting benefit of working with Wove is that you get to keep the replica you're provided to test drive your ring style. This is perfect for bringing when you travel or in any other situation where you may want to keep your more expensive ring at home. Their bespoke engagement rings are similarly priced to brick-and-mortar stores. They accomplish this by offering made-to-order rings rather than holding inventory. Ethical sourcing is the most important pillar of Wove as a business. Everything has to go through a rigid set of standards to ensure they meet fair labor and ethical requirements. Every step of creating these hand-crafted rings is fairly compensated for. It's an old school notion that a single individual needs to choose the ring alone. Elliot loves watching the stress roll off of couples as they realize they can design their ring together. https://yourpocketweddingplanner.com/free-7-days-trial https://wovemade.com/?rfsn=6686686.403153&fbclid=IwAR03uNkHA1IWkYs20DaQyeteKRbiyXtIPuOAS3GeBJLRYiZ6bRuAjfmKlLE&fs=e&s=cl

EAB’s Chief Partner Officer, Sally Amoruso, is joined by Brian Elliot, the head of the Future Forum, a consortium launched by Slack to help companies reimagine work in the new digital-first world. The two discuss key takeaways from a recent virtual gathering of more than 125 university leaders EAB hosted to explore the future of work on college campuses. They share tips on ways to offer campus workers greater flexibility, a change that will be critical to schools looking to attract and retain talent in a tight labor market. Sally and Brian also urge managers to shift away from being attendance monitors and spend more of their energy inspiring employees to stay connected, build camaraderie, and bring their best selves to work each day, regardless of whether they are working remotely or onsite.

What a crazy month it has been; sorry for the delay in our podcast this month. We are working on our schedules, and I think we have it all straightened out. We are also still working with our sound; I have not perfected the over cell phone recordings, and this segment is not the quality that I was hoping for, but this is all a learning curve for us. Brian Elliot is a local performer here in the tristate county of Montgomery, PA, and we are so pleased to have him. We hope that you enjoy him as much as I did. You can find Brian Elliot on Facebook @brianelliotmusic and find his upcoming performances. Thank you so much for joining us, and as always, we look forward to your messages and feedback. The Philadelphia Eagles, Howie Roseman, and the entire NFL stayed quiet during the trade deadline. It was obvious to me that GMs just have no clue what the market is right now so everyone is asking for way too much for specific players. I am not mad at Howie Roseman for not acquiring anyone. It is not worth giving up the future for someone who will be here for more than the rest of this season. It's not worth a second round draft pick for 8 more games.... The Philadelphia Sixers stole a win against the Atlanta Hawks by winning 105-103. Joel Embiid dominated with 36 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He dunked on John Collins and it was beautiful! Embiid was also 10 for 10 at the charity stripe, where he came up clutch to take the lead thanks to a great play design by Brett Brown. The Sixers had a high low play set up between Al Horford and Embiid which lead to his clutch free throws. Prior to that, when the Sixers were up three points with nine seconds left, Brett Brown wanted to foul Trae Young on purpose so he would not drain a three. He hit the first free throw and the second rolled out of the rim, tipped by Collins, and the Hawks tied the game. Things were very funky down the stretch. The Sixers did this all shorthanded, without Mike Scott who was ejected for a bogus flagrant two call and Shake Milton after leaving the game with an injury. The Philadelphia Flyers lose their second straight game by falling to the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-1. This was an embarrassment. The Flyers looked absolutely lost in the defensive zone, threw pucks everywhere, and came out flat. How is that possible against the PITTSBURGH PENGUINS?!?!?! Brian Elliot was pulled after the second period when the score was 6-0. The blame doesn't go on him as the team was in shambles in the d zone. There are too many players that have a confidence issue at the moment. Alain Vigneault sure has his work cut out for him.
The Philadelphia Sixers start the season against the Boston Celtics down at the Wells Fargo Center. There is no other way I would want the season to kick off! I can't wait to watch this 82 game regular season and the playoff journey! How will Ben Simmons be with the addition of his jump shot? How will Joel Embiid dominate this year? What will Al Horford's veteran presence bring? How about Matisse Thybulle's defense!! It will be so much fun to watch this team grind every game!! The Philadelphia Flyers dominated the Vegas Golden Knights 6-2 to snap their four game losing streak. Alain Vigneault switched up the lines up front and it worked out tremendously. James Van Riemsdyk moved to the first line as Claude Giroux moved to center. Joel Farabee made his NHL debut and hopped on the third line with Kevin Hayes and Scott Laughton. Couturier moved to the second line to play with Oskar Lindblom and Jakub Voracek. The fourth line was huge with Michael Raffl recording three points. This was an example of having four lines rolling! Brian Elliot was a stud in between the pipes and the Flyers just came out and took care of business from the jump. Record: 3-3-1
the Philadelphia Eagles miss out on Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey gets traded to the Los Angeles Rams for 2 first round draft picks and a 4th rounder. Would you do it? I would have, but I also understand not doing it.Also, Doug Pederson guarantees a victory in Dallas? I feel a weird tone out of Doug lately......... The Philadelphia Flyers drop their first game in regulation to the Calgary Flames by a score of 3-1. This game was dreadful. The Flyers had zero energy and looked lethargic. I hate to admit it, but this reminded me of the Dave Hakstol era. Due to a back to back situation, Carter Hart did not play and Brian Elliot was in between the pipes. He did a fine job as the third goal was an empty netter. Travis Konecny recorded another point as he assisted Matt Niskanen's goal. They did show fight in the third period, but the first two periods were awful. I think they iced the puck 5,693 times.
Another emergency session! With preseason coming to a close, Nolan Patrick still MIA, and the roster cuts a plenty, Jack from HW Radio breaks it all down. What will the starting lineup look like? What do you think of the coaching so far? How bad has Brian Elliot played? And do you agree with the latest round of roster cuts? --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/hwradio/message
The Flyers have been busy at the start of Free Agency. They trade for 2 veteran defensemen, and sign Kevin Hayes to a 7 year $50 million deal! Is this too much money for Kevin Hayes? Brian Elliot came in solo but sounded like a complete band. Brian has an amazing pedal/looping board and he creates a whole band sound one instrument at a time. Quite facinationg.
The Blues fall behind 4-0 to the Flyers and try to make a come back, but fall short 6-3. Former Blues goalie Brian Elliot makes 25 out of 28 saves for the win. (If the homies can't have none) In this case, it ain't fun that Tryamkin don't want none (of a Utica Comets Roster Spot) Dave, P Mac and Ryan get together this week to talk about the podcast's stance on fancy stats, their thoughts on the analytics and why the show is formatted the way it is. They move on to Brian Elliot's rough start with the Calgary Flames. Until Monday's shootout win against Chicago, he was winless in 3 with a GAA over 4 and a SV% under .900 ... basically Tom Barrasso numbers. The gang talks about the Canucks' injury troubles, their rough weekend in California and their new problems with Nikita Tryamkin. What will the Canucks brass do? Will they convince the Russian giant to play in Utica? Or will he return to the KHL? They also look at Ryan Miller and whether he's on the move while goalie injuries plague the NHL. They also compare the starts to the season for PK Subban and Shea Weber and more particularly, their plus/minus ratings. The gang also talk about the 2016 Heritage Classic in Winnipeg and take a look at the lead blowing Toronto Maple Leafs! Ryan provides a smug update on Jared McCann's season totals in Florida and is concerned he's not funny on the podcast. Is he? Enjoy!
The NHL regular season is finally here! Auston lives up to the hype (for at least one night) and McDavid continues to impress. Meanwhile, the Canucks win two in a row with a lot of new faces in the roster. Ryan, Dave and P Mac get together this week to talk all about the first few games of the regular season. They look at Evander Kane's terrifying looking fall into the boards the subsequent injury. They also talk about the Oilers and Flames polar opposite starts to the season. They talk Canucks. From Etem clearing waivers, to the positives that came out of the first weekend of the season. From a stable defence, to a great game from Ryan Miller, there are some positives for sure to start the year for the Canucks. They also talk about PK Subban's first game in Nashville and his first goal celebration of the year. They also look at the shaky play of Brian Elliot and ask who the worst starting goaltender in the NHL is. They also try to figure out Sidney Crosby's concussion mystery. Enjoy!
