In this episode, we break down McLaren's surprising Formula 1 dominance (thanks to Zac Brown) and Ferrari's rare strategic win. Nick shares the best cars he spotted on a drive through Southern Utah, and we both drove some monsters — including the Ford Raptor R and the Tesla Cybertruck.Hunter bought a 2016 Range Rover Autobiography LWB, and Nick tries (unsuccessfully) to sell his ML500.We rant about the absurd size of the Bronco Raptor, the horror that is the new Subaru Outback, and debate whether new cars are too good compared to the raw, analog feel of old ones.#CarPodcast #Formula1 #Cybertruck #FordRaptorR #RangeRover #CarEnthusiast #McLarenF1 #SubaruOutback #CarCulture #AutoTalk

Bronco update -- previous guest James Steele waited for 2yrs for his 2023 2dr Ford Bronco Sasquatch, and he just traded it in. For what? A 2024 4dr Bronco Raptor of course. We discuss.... Mercedes has been fading in the US luxury sales race, finishing 3rd in 2023 behind BMW and Lexus. In fact, Audi is catching up, which is big news. Mercedes' plan for 2024? Start selling less expensive vehicles and throttle back on the BEVs that their customers seem not to want. Trauma surgeon safety -- our trauma surgeon Dr Stephan Moran gets into regional differences in car crash and fatality rates. Albuquerque is the least safe city. Which is best? Toyota, Stellantis, and Mercedes Benz are investing in Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) companies like Joby. Is that a smart move? CoC says yes. The average price of a new car or light truck in the US in 2023 was $47,000. Stephan and Steve-0 (and Jeff Bank) pick three vehicles they would buy for that much or less. #carsoncallpodcast #steveautos #broncoraptor #fordbronco #mercedeseqs #fordbroncoraptor #mercedeseq #traumasurgeonsafety #autosafety #joby #vtol
Friend of the show and former guest James Steele traded in a 2023 Bronco for a new Bronco Raptor Trauma surgeon Dr Stephen Moran talks about Lyme scooters and how unsafe they are. We spotted a Porsche Taycan Turbo S. It's quite a car, but OMG does it depreciate! Speaking of depreciation, collector car expert Adams gets into the cars that depreciate the most. Spoiler alert: the Taycan is on the list... Matt Scott and Scott Brady discuss the new class of travel vehicles we call Ultra Overlanders. This includes the Ford F150 Raptor R, Bronco Raptor, Ram TRX, GMC AT4x AEV, Jeep Rubicon 392, G-Wagen 4x4 Squared, Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, and Ram Power Wagon. This conversation is not an endorsement of Ultra Overlanders for international travel, but a discussion around their growing popularity for domestic grand touring and backcountry travel.
On this episode we talk customer service, Bronco Raptor parts and we have our good friend Moe as our special guest. Enjoy as he breaks down family, his job and a little about how his new setup is working.
On this episode of The Healey Brothers Show, Jason Healey and Nicky Paraggio are joined by Dylan Healey, proud owner of a Ford Bronco Raptor, and Sean Howarth, one of our client advisors specializing in the Bronco Raptor. Together, they dive into all facets of the formidable Ford Bronco Raptor. From Dylan's firsthand experiences of ownership and Sean's expert insights, to its impressive specs, pricing, and standout features, no aspect goes unexamined. But the conversation doesn't end there; the team also engages in a detailed comparison with its direct rival, the Jeep Wrangler 392. Tune in as they dissect performance, features, and address the intriguing question: Is the rumored Ford Bronco Raptor R a genuine possibility or mere speculation?
According to Travis Hill, SVTPerformance.com has been “the go-to place on the internet if you want to know anything about any Ford Performance vehicle,” and he would know: he's had his finger on the pulse of the entire landscape of Ford Performance-type stuff for well over two decades. As Willie says, “There's never been a better time to be a car enthusiast, just because of the capability of these platforms and what you're able to do with them now,” to which Travis adds that this latest Bronco model “is basically the ultimate expression of the Raptor model lineup from Ford.” Learn more about your ad choices. This week, our special guest on America on the Road is Marques McCammon, President of Karma Automotive. Karma is a California-based builder of high-performance electric vehicles whose very interesting plans include the imminent launch of the 1,100-horsepower Kaveya super coupe. Host Jack Nerad conducted an exclusive interview with the company's energetic chief exec, and they discussed the details of the Kaveya plus McCammon's plans to differentiate the American supercar brand from others in the space. The Karma Kaveya certainly appears to be worthy of further scrutiny. Its luscious super-coupe body equipped with butterfly doors is stuffed with four electric motors enabling four-wheel-drive. A 536-horsepower, rear-drive version of the car will be available by the end of 2025. The full-on 1,200-horsepower AWD version will arrive by the conclusion of 2026. As we first reported last week, Hyundai has announced a bold plan to remake virtually everything and change life as we know it during its press turn at CES. While that might seem like an exaggeration, it's really not. And we'll give you the startling details later in this segment. In somewhat less Earth-shattering news, Dodge has announced a new limited edition of its Durango SUV as it begins the phase-out of the HEMI V8. (Say it ain't so, Joe.) Honda wowed CES with some all-new electric vehicle concepts, as we'll have details on those. And not to be outdone, Hyundai also introduced a flying car at CES. We'll bring you the details and our reactions. In our road tests this week, Nerad had the opportunity to put the Ford Bronco Raptor to the test in blizzard conditions in the Midwest. Venturing far from his more weather-friendly home base, AOTR's host reacquainted himself with winter driving techniques at the wheel of the 418-horsepower twin-turbo V-6-equipped Bronco Raptor. At the same time, Co-host Chris Teague put the 2024 Mazda Mazda3 Turbo to the test, battling his own challenging weather conditions in New England. He discovered the 250-horsepower version of Mazda's compact car is a surprisingly good match for well-regarded hot hatches like the Volkswagen GTI. All that and more are coming up in this episode of America on the Road. America on the Road is brought to you by Driving Today.com, Mercury Insurance, YourTestDriver.com, and EMLandsea.com , the publisher of Nerad's latest book, Dance in the Dark, which is available HERE on Amazon.com

There's something wonderful about driving a vehicle that's the opposite of all the things you love. And for Jason, that's the Ford F-150 Raptor R. = This episode of the Carmudgeon show is sponsored by Lucid Motors, who has special lease and finance offers on available 2023 models of the Lucid Air Touring and Grand Touring. Visit lucidmotors.com for offer details. = Jason, lover of simple, lightweight, nimble sports cars, is enamored of the Raptor R — even more so than the Bronco Raptor. Why? Because it's unabashedly what a Raptor should be. And everything that Jason ostensibly hates in cars: It's heavy, it's inefficient, it's loud, it's an automatic, it has forced induction, it doesn't go around corners or stop, and it's huge. But it's also perfect. Jason's highway encounter with a Rolls-Royce Cullinan made for some of the biggest laughter he's ever experienced in a car, and this leads the boys to discuss cars they love that are out of sync with what they typically appreciate. The Ford Bronco helped expand Ford's offerings when it first hit the pavement in 1965. Over the years, Ford's Bronco changed its shape and role in Ford's lineup and became a pop culture icon in the process. Though, Ford eventually discontinued the Bronco in 1996 when the company focused its efforts on the Expedition. Ford revived the Bronco in 2020 to take on the Jeep Wrangler. Ford's reborn Bronco is available with two or four doors but both bodies offer the same off-road chops. Powered by either a 2.3-liter turbocharged I4, a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6, or a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in the Bronco Raptor, the Bronco has different powertrains for different needs. Ford even helps keep manual transmission fans happy, with a seven-speed manual available behind the 2.3-liter I4. On this episode of Quick Spin, host Wesley Wren hops behind the wheel of Ford's Bronco and puts it through its paces. Wren takes you on a guided tour of a 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak four-door to show off its features, styling decisions and materials. Later, Wren takes you on a live drive review to show how the Bronco handles in real-time. Patrick Carone joins the show to discuss Ford's Bronco, how it drives and the competitive set. This special edition of America on the Road includes interviews from two of the most important attendees at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show. With cool trucks the overarching theme of the show, Host Jack Nerad captured exclusive interviews with two men responsible for some of the coolest trucks on the show floor. Arie Groeneveld is the chief engineer of the just-introduced Ford Bronco Raptor high-performance desert runner. Direct from the show floor, Groeneveld and Nerad discussed the special qualities the Bronco Raptor has and detailed how Ford was able to develop it so swiftly. Far from the surf breaks of Southern California, Hiren Patel, head of Nissan's North American design operation, sat down with Nerad to describe the development of each of Nissan's three truck concepts unveiled at the show. The three concepts – the Project 72X, Project Hardbody, and Project Adventure – are all based on the 2022 Frontier mid-size pickup, a vehicle that Patel and his team at NDA played a primary role in designing. In the road test segment, this episode of America on the Road has some surprises for you. Our road test vehicle is the 2022 Volvo XC40 luxury SUV. The compact luxury SUV is one of Volvo's most popular vehicles and a big player in that growing segment. But that isn't the surprise. The unusual bonus is our test of the Airstream Pottery Barn Edition 28-foot travel trailer. Nerad and his wife Sandi recently had a chance to experience the top-shelf trailer in a funky Southern California retreat, and we tell you all about it.

The big, bad, off-road bruiser features a twin-turbo Ecoboost V-6 engine and 37-inch all-terrain tires, and it measures in at 9.8 inches wider than its base Bronco four-door brethren. With a projected output of more than 400 HP, it'll be the most powerful street-legal Bronco ever when it hits the tarmac and trails. Moving on, the talk centers on Ford's Maverick light-duty pickup and the reshuffling of the top three pony cars. For the first time, Dodge's Challenger surpassed both the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang in claiming the top-selling pony car spot. Up next, motorcycle expert, author and tv commentator Paul d'Orléans is in on the conversation, with Matt and John saddling up to hear everything from how Paul launched his site, the Vintagent, and his passion for tintype photography, to his role as a guest curator at the esteemed Petersen Automotive Museum.

The wait is finally over! Ford has spilled the details on the new Bronco Raptor that will be available to order in March of 2022. The Bronco Raptor is based on the 4-door model but heavily modified. There's over 400 horsepower from the twin turbo V6 EcoBoost engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, standard 37-inch tires and a beefed-up… well, everything is toughened, improved and reinforced. Tom Voelk has all the details on the Ford Bronco Raptor and why you might want one. Especially if you want to catch some air.

Ford has just introduced an ultra-high-performance version of its Bronco off-roader called the Bronco Raptor. And we'll have all the details in this episode. The 2022 Ford Bronco brings a 400-horsepower turbocharged V-6 engine and a heavily altered, fully-boxed frame to the task of desert running. With a significantly wider track and added ground clearance, the Bronco Raptor seems ready to do battle with the Ram 1500 TRX. But does it have the horsepower to catch up? Electric vehicles continue to grab attention, and we have the inside line on one of the most exciting new EVs, the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Our special guest is Ryan Miller, manager of electrified powertrain development at Hyundai Kia America Technical Center. Host Jack Nerad had a chance to sit down with him recently on the initial Ioniq 5 press drive event, and he and Miller had an in-depth discussion about the fascinating vehicle. Miller says that it represents a new start for Hyundai in its transition from a maker of cars to a provider of sustainable transportation. In the road test segment, Co-host Chris Teague got behind the wheel of the new 2022 Acura RDX. One of the first crossover utilities to put an emphasis on performance, the Acura RDX has seen its position threatened by other imports recently. Teague will tell us how the new 2002 version matches up versus the competition. Also in the road test segment Jack Nerad evaluated the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT, the newest version of the brand's midsize five-passenger crossover. The XRT has off-road-oriented looks but can it act the part? Nerad and Teague will discuss that in this episode. Finally, in the news, a very familiar name in consumer electronics -- Sony -- is taking steps to enter the electric vehicle market on a worldwide basis. Do they have a chance to succeed? Or is the attempt doomed from the start? We'll give our opinions.

Chris, from Frontier State Overland, and I compare the newly released Ford Bronco Raptor to the Jeep 392 Wrangler as overlanding vehicles. There is still a lot to learn about the new Bronco Raptor, but from what we've seen so far, it's going to give Jeep a run for its money as the best stock off-road SUV. We have a lot of fun digging into these two rigs and comparing where each manufacturer invested their time and attention, and we then related it to what it means for those of use who are overlanding. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/venture2roam/support
