It's no secret and plain to see what the true cause of disease and most of all the problems we face today comes from Emotional Mismanagement. Our inability to control the only thing we actually have control over. Our response to the inconvenient obstacle course of challenges life throws at us.. Today, we're talking about one of the most critical skills in emotional self-mastery: protecting your peace by recognizing the people who quietly drain it. These people and their patterns show up so subtly that we often don't notice our energy leaking until we're already exhausted, frustrated, and combative. In essence, we all work hard to maintain consistency and reach the flow state where things start going our way. These people seemingly show up with the intention of stealing that flow. Therefore, I call them Flow Burglars, and I've identified five predictable archetypes, each of which disrupts your flow in its own way.  During today's playtime, we are going to learn how to recognize, disarm, and outsmart them BEFORE they drain your energy and burglarize your flow. Here are the 5 Archetypes: Comfort Clinger, who uses your support to avoid growth Ungrateful Goblin, who absorbs your kindness without a hint of appreciation Validation Vampire, who appears to want guidance but really wants your agreement Narrative Ninja, who manipulates through emotional storytelling Hard-Headed Hurricane, who chooses chaos again and again and invites you into it. Each of these patterns drains your energy differently. However, the solution to all of them is the same: discernment, the power to see people clearly and consciously, read their intentions accurately, and choose your response from a place of wisdom rather than reflex.  Discernment protects your peace because it keeps you from stepping into roles you were never meant to play. We'll get an inside look at the development of Schrödinger's Cat Burglar.   Schrödinger's Cat Burglar - Tell us a about yourself - I understand you're an animator turned game designer, so kind of walk us through your personal journey a little bit? (0:54) - When developing the game, did you start with the story and character animations, or did you jump right into the programming and let the game sort of build itself? (3:57) - Do you have any personal attachment to cats or animals in general that might have influenced the creation of Mittens? (5:23) - The game clearly suggest heavy use of quantum physics. Beyond the classic Schrodinger's cat example, did you find yourself really studying this topic to deepen your own understanding and then use that learning to create new challenges/ abilities? (6:18) - The demo gives players a taste of what's to come. What are you most excited about for players to experience in the full version of the game? (8:52) - Are there any other animals in the game like rats since they are common test subjects? Does lazy Susan have abilities for example? (10:31) - You started this project as a solo developer, but your team has grown over time. What were some pros and cons to working alone versus having a small team behind your work? (12:01) - So, you described some moments during the development process when you had to step back and rethink a design choice or direction. How did you approach making those tough decisions? (15:20) - *Schrödinger's Cat Burglar* allows for both couch and remote co-op. How did you approach designing the gameplay with multiplayer in mind, and what sort of challenges did that present? A Dallas ICE facility was shot up by 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, who ended up killing two detained migrants and injuring a third. He indiscriminately fired from a neighboring rooftop and was targeting ICE agents, none of whom were harmed. Jahn then fatally turned the gun on himself. Burglars like to look for an open bathroom window as their preferred method of breaking into a home. They also don't necessarily prefer to do the breaking and entering at nighttime, but during the early evening. Plus, they're mostly looking for jewelry and cash, anything easy to carry. The Harlem Globetrotters are coming to Cali next January and February! They've played over 27,000 games! 

My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Gregory Grosvenor, author of the book Second Pocket First. Author Gregory Grosvenor grew up in Ansbach, Germany. He moved to the US, earning an MFA from Old Dominion University. For two decades, he has taught writing and the art of the short story at various colleges in Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. Grosvenor currently lives in Somerville, Massachusetts with his three cats, Dinah, Theo, and Bramlet Abercrombie. Second Pocket First is his debut novel. Grosvenor is available for readings, interviews, podcasts, speaking engagements, and book signings.   In my book review, I stated Second Pocket First is humorous mystery that is heavy on the humor. The protagonist, Issey, is a thief. However, Issey is more concerned about the artistic and creative nature of thieving rather than the items themselves - which makes him a less than ideal crook. You see, he pays more attention to his hat, his gloves, and his lock pickers than to the items he steals. And he often breaks the items on the way home because he carelessly tosses them into a duffle bag.   Issey finds himself back in his hometown where the need to steal from people first began, offering the reader great flashbacks into Issey's early years, as well as getting to meet people who knew him as a child. And suddenly, through no fault of his own, he becomes a hero - and everything about his life changes.   He's respectable. He has a romantic partner. He has business cards.
