Valentine's Day: Is it accurate to say that love that's true expresses itself in sacrificial and constructive means? We pause for a moment of Prayer on this Valentine's Day. We took a break from News Commentary and Academia to pray, promote love and perform a music that may inspire irrespective of denomination or religious affiliation, although the music is in gospel. We are not seeking to proselytize or privilege any particular faith. We find all faith provide a basis to connect with The Ultimate and man must work out their own salvation. With background instrumental, I sing "How Excellent is thy Name Oh Lord," then praying for the peoples of the world: Ukraine, poor and vulnerable peoples in the world that the Ultimate would intervene in a way that empowers them and remake them into dynamic competitive beings. This can only happen in Love, one that is sacrificial. We pray for those whose socioeconomic realities continue to affect their lives and hold them down. We pray against violence and human pride and privilege steeped in position and the violence of strategy that promote position. We pray for CARICOM that they will unite and become a stronger body and intervene appropriately in the Haitian crisis. We pray for Haiti and the crisis they are experiencing. That they will find resolve and realize the true nation that had made them independent. We pray for leadership that values everyone and for understanding in the world.
