In this episode, I explore the concept of leverage in your business, focusing on strategic time management and maximizing efficiency through automation, delegation, and smart decision-making. Using practical examples, I demonstrate how business owners can optimize their time by targeting warm leads, choosing the most effective social media platforms, and prioritizing outreach strategies. The key is asking, "Where will I get the most leverage?" rather than spreading efforts thin across multiple channels. I emphasize that strategic thinking prevents overwhelm and helps entrepreneurs make more impactful choices by focusing on existing networks, identifying high-engagement platforms, and being intentional about time allocation. How Do We Get The Jeff To Declutter?Corey's in-laws are coming in town on Saturday, and she is desperately trying to get the house in order. She has her areas maintained, but Jeff's stuff is everywhere. He has a million pairs of Nike shoes, his hot rod tires, a tire jack, miscellaneous stuff everywhere, etc. How does she approach the subject without treating him like a child? She doesn't want to feel like his mom.How Much Would You Spend For Peace & Quiet?According to the poll of 2-thousand U.S. adults, the average American would pay $2,521 for just one day of peace and quiet. Sure, that's a huge amount of money, but parents would be willing to shell out even more - $1,147 more, on average. The average person only gets 9.5-hours a month to themselves. The biggest things standing  are work (50%), family commitments (32%), financial constraints (24%), and social obligations (22%).But 13% admit they actually feel guilty when they finally get free time.More than half (53%) say they need more alone time than they're getting now, and it turns out, they're not above being dishonest to get it.More than a third (38%) confess they've lied to friends, family, or even their partner to get some time to themselves.“I'm not feeling well” is the most common lie told (54%), followed by “I have a lot of work to do” (40%), “I have a headache” (33%) and “I have an appointment” (33%).To have just a lazy morning to themselves, parents would pay an average of $325, and people would be willing to spend $339.80 just for one extra hour of sleep.Crazy Wedding Dress MomEveryone knows that only the bride should wear white to a wedding. It seems one mother of the groom didn't mind making this major faux pas when her son tied the knot, but she took it to the next level and showed up in a full bridal gown and veil to match. A now-viral Reddit post from someone claiming it happened at their cousin's wedding."Everything was going smoothly until the groom's mother walked into the hall in a full-length white gown. Lace sleeves. Sparkly belt. Veil," the guest writes. “She looked like she was about to walk down the aisle herself.” As you'd expect, everyone was shocked by her attire, even the bride and groom, and the mom reportedly told people it was “tradition” in their family for the mother of the groom to wear white.“To make things worse, the groom's mom tried to stand next to the bride and groom during the vows, and even held the bride's bouquet at one point,” the post explains. During the reception, the mother was introducing herself to people as “the first woman in his life.” Despite her mother-in-law's fashion choice, the bride managed to remain calm and her new husband reportedly kept telling her, “I'm so sorry” over and over. Let's just hope this mom let the newlyweds go on their honeymoon alone!Second Date Update: Amber calls us about Craig. She says they had a lovely meal together and now he's ghosting. I offer practical techniques for interrupting negative thought cycles, including pausing to question the validity of negative thoughts, using thought challenges to examine limiting beliefs, and practicing visualization and thought journaling. Hear your own voice remind you that you are not broken, just navigating.Practice radical self-forgiveness: Release the shame and blame for how you've coped. Embrace compassion and remind yourself that growth takes time.Tidy your sanctuary: How cleaning your physical space can literally shift your mindset and invite the emotions you desire into your life.Embrace the tears: Why crying isn't weakness, but a powerful release that sets you free from trapped emotions.Do one thing just for joy: Break free from the need for productivity and indulge in an activity that simply feels good, no reason required.Lira underscores that healing isn't a tedious chore; it's a gentle, playful, lifelong journey found in the small, everyday acts of self-love. Your mental health isn't just important; it's relying on you to be human, to set boundaries, to detach from the external noise, and to embrace freedom.Don't miss this essential guide to prioritizing the most important person in your life: YOU. Send us a textDecluttering isn't just about tidying up—it's about creating space for peace in a chaotic world. Hitting 1 million downloads calls for celebrating with a powerful guest, and Connie Graf delivers with compassion and wisdom that will transform how you approach your environment.Connie, founder of "From Chaos to Peace," reveals why most of us struggle to implement organizational systems despite knowing what to do. "The information is not necessarily the problem," she explains. "The problem is why aren't we doing what we often know we need to do?" This question unlocks a fascinating exploration of procrastination, fear, and the hidden barriers to creating supportive environments.Drawing from her Swiss background and years helping entrepreneurs, Connie shares her framework of four personality types—fire, earth, air, and water—each with unique organizational challenges. Fire types start enthusiastically but struggle to follow through. Earth types get trapped in endless planning. Air types overthink everything. Water types become emotionally overwhelmed by their possessions. Understanding your type provides targeted strategies that actually work. The conversation takes a vulnerable turn when discussing why change feels so threatening. "I think I will not recognize myself if I change and I'm afraid of that," one client confessed. This fear keeps many stuck in chaos despite craving peace. Connie's gentle advice? "A few minutes a day keeps the chaos away." Small, consistent actions build momentum without triggering resistance. We also explore the cultural pressures on women to "do it all" without seeking help, and how setting boundaries—though initially uncomfortable—creates the foundation for genuine peace. As Connie wisely notes, "We can only create more peace in the world if we have peace within us and within our families."Ready to transform your environment from chaotic to peaceful? In this chat, we dive into Sarah Horgan's journey toward intentional living and minimalism, which was sparked by her battle with stage four cancer. She talks about how perfectionism and people-pleasing shaped her life, and how mindfulness and emotional health became key in her transformation. Sarah explains how minimalism became a deeply personal journey, not just about physical stuff, but about self-awareness, emotional healing, and simplifying life for more fulfillment. We also discuss her experience with the challenges of motherhood, highlighting the importance of self-forgiveness, the impact of consumerism, and how minimalism plays a role in parenting.Sarah Horgan of Simple + Intentional is a coach, teacher, wife, and mom to a 6-year-old, passionate about living simply. Her journey to simplicity began in 2014 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, which led her to deep self-reflection. Over time, she realized that perfectionism and people-pleasing weren't serving her, sparking a shift toward simplicity. Becoming a mom further pushed her toward minimalism out of necessity, as she navigated the challenges of parenting without family support. By decluttering her home, she found it easier to maintain a calm, organized space, which allowed her to focus on internal growth. Sarah's mission is to help others simplify their lives, let go of unnecessary clutter, and prioritize what truly matters.Guest Links Web: https://www.simpleintentional.com/IG: http://instagram.com/simpleintentional/Chapters00:00 The Journey to Intentional Living08:51 Mindfulness and Emotional Health18:10 The Deeper Meaning of Minimalism23:59 Practical Steps to Declutter and Simplify29:40 Navigating Body Image and Self-Care34:16 The Journey of Self-Forgiveness39:39 Minimalism and Motherhood44:15 Spring Cleaning: A Fresh Start48:29 Rapid Fire Reflections-----------------CONTACT US: sustainthispodcast@gmail.comJOIN OUR PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/SustainThisPodcast SIGNE HANSENYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@UseLess_dkWebsite: https://www.uselesswardrobe.dk/IG: https://www.instagram.com/useless_dk/TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@useless_wardrobeCHRISTINA MYCHASYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@ChristinamychasWebsite: https://www.minimalist-ish.com/IG: https://www.instagram.com/christina.mychas/TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@christina.mychasALYSSA BELTEMPOYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@AlyssaBeltempoWebsite: https://msbeltempo.com/IG: https://www.instagram.com/msbeltempo/TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@msbeltempo If you loved this episode please share it on your stories and tag us! In this second half of last week's discussion, Kelly and Lauren open up about the messy, real side of living a minimalist lifestyle. You will continue to be reminded that living a Minimalist lifestyle is about surrounding yourself with what you need and love and letting go of the rest. And since excess will always come and go, this lifestyle requires regular check-ins and mistakes are part of the process. If summer's approaching and you're already feeling behind—hello, cluttered counters, mystery sunscreen stash, and overflowing school papers—this episode is your roadmap to reset. In this episode, I'm walking you through 5 specific things to declutter now that will make your summer feel easier, more peaceful, and way more manageable. No massive overhaul. No organizing binge. Just small, powerful wins that help you create the margin you're craving. Because here's the truth: You don't need more bins or a color-coded summer calendar. You need space—for joy, rest, fun, and being present. What You'll Learn in This Episode: 1️⃣ How to Clear the End-of-School-Year Dump Zone (Without Guilt) Tired of stacks of artwork and random folders piling up? I'll show you how to quickly process school papers—and how to make one decision that eliminates the overwhelm for good. 2️⃣ The Easy Way to Declutter Last Year's Summer Gear No more moldy towels, broken goggles, or expired sunscreen hanging around. Learn how to create a quick “maybe” bin to make decluttering painless and kid-friendly. 3️⃣ A 10-Minute Pantry Reset for Summer Sanity Toss the stale snacks, organize your overflow, and create a grab-and-go summer snack bin your kids can actually use—without asking you 47 times a day. 4️⃣ How to Let Go of Your “Maybe Someday” Summer Projects This is the pep talk you didn't know you needed. You don't have to organize your whole house or start a garden to have a meaningful summer. I'll help you pick one thing—and release the rest with zero guilt. 5️⃣ Breaking Free from the Pressure to “Do Summer Right” This one goes deep. I'm sharing what shifted for me when I gave up being the Pinterest-perfect fun mom and chose presence over performance.

Did you hear about the mortgage broker who always ate lunch alone? Yep—it turns out he was a loaner.Okay, a bit of levity to start the program today, but you know what's serious business? Buying or selling a home. Are spring and summer still prime seasons to jump into the market? Dale Vermillion joins us for insight on today's real estate and mortgage trends. Dale Vermillion is the author of Navigating the Mortgage Maze: The Simple Truth About Financing Your Home. This book covers everything you need to know about securing a mortgage—all from a biblical perspective. Is Spring Still a Seller's Market? While spring and summer are still active seasons, seasonality in real estate isn't what it used to be. The rise of online listings means people shop for homes year-round. However, warmer weather, the end of the school year, and a desire for fresh starts still push many families to buy and sell during this time. There's a lot of activity right now. Listings are up over 700,000—33% more homes than last year. And new home sales? Up to 76,000 in just the last 30 days. With more homes on the market and fewer buyers competing, this may be the best opportunity to buy a home since 2021.Selling a Home? Stand Out With These TipsIf you're on the selling side, you'll need more than a “For Sale” sign. Here are a few key steps to rise above the noise:Price your home right from day one. Use recent comps, a professional appraisal, and work with a local agent who knows your area. Stage your home well. With more buyers relying on online home tours and 360° walkthroughs, curb appeal and clean, well-lit interiors matter more than ever. Declutter and simplify. Remove excess items and ensure the space feels open and welcoming—both inside and out.Buying a Home? Here's How to Prepare WiselyFor starters, you need to understand that pre-approval is not the same as pre-qualification. Pre-qualification is often based on unverified info. You want a full pre-approval, where your application, income, credit, and down payment are all verified. This not only makes your offer more attractive to sellers but also helps you understand what you can realistically afford. And that's the other key point—know your budget. Don't rely solely on what a lender says you qualify for.Create a detailed budget based on your actual income and expenses.Consider your long-term financial goals, not just your current desires. Most importantly, pray about your decision. Ask God for wisdom and peace before making such a significant commitment. What About Mortgage Rates in 2025?Many are still waiting for interest rates to drop—but experts say don't hold your breath. The Fed rate may drop a few times this year, but that mostly affects short-term debt like credit cards and auto loans. Mortgage rates, on the other hand, are driven by the 10-year Treasury note.As inflation eases, mortgage rates may follow, but they're expected to remain relatively stable for now.If you're a buyer, now could be the right time to act, with high inventory and lower competition. But as always, make sure your decision is rooted in financial wisdom and prayerful dependence on God. Only buy what you can afford, and trust the Lord through the process. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I just retired and received a $20,000 check. I'm not sure what I should do with this money. I have a Roth, some savings, an annuity, and a 401(k), but I haven't talked to a financial planner about my current financial status. What should I do with this $20,000?I write one check every Sunday to tithe to my church. If everything goes electronic, I don't know how to track it.As I get closer to having my home paid off, I would like to know if it's better to keep an outstanding balance on my mortgage to maintain the mortgage credit and homestead credit for property taxes, or just pay off the home and deal with increased taxes.Years ago, when we were leading classes with Howard Dayton, our group discussed how collecting offerings at church feels very personal. When the offering basket is passed and a deacon holds it, we almost see it as Jesus' hand holding out the basket. It becomes a very personal act of giving, almost like giving directly to Jesus himself. I'm curious how many people over 65 still write a lot of checks.Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's New Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)Bankrate.comChristian Community Credit Union (CCCU)An Uncommon Guide to Retirement: Finding God's Purpose for the Next Season of Life by Jeff HaanenNavigating the Mortgage Maze: The Simple Truth About Financing Your Home by Dale VermillionWisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on Money (Pre-Order)Look At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. Be inspired to embrace minimalism as an ongoing, perfectly imperfect practice! In this first part of a two-part discussion, Kelly and Lauren open up about the messy, real side of living a minimalist lifestyle. You will be reminded that living a minimalist lifestyle is about surrounding yourself with what you need and love and letting go of the rest, whatever form that clutter takes. And since excess will always come and go, this lifestyle requires regular check-ins, and yes, mistakes happen! Kelly and Lauren each answer the following questions:  Can you share something that you decluttered that you later regretted? Can you share a recent story of an impulse purchase that you regretted and what you learned? What's one minimalist principle you admittedly haven't perfectly followed? Has a minimalist lifestyle ever felt unattainable to you? Can you share a moment where you felt like Minimalism didn't fix everything? I've never considered myself a person who cares about fashion or "style" so when I first stumbled across Julie Allen on Instagram, I didn't expect to stick around. But something about the way she talked about clothes felt different. It was kind, approachable, and freeing. Julie teaches women how to embrace style tools instead of style rules, and as I listened to her, I realized how much that philosophy overlaps with how I think about motherhood. There's no one right way to be a mom—or to get dressed. It's about finding what fits you and building a life you love from there. Julie is a mom of six and a style educator who's passionate about helping women reconnect with themselves through the way they show up each day. In this episode, she shares three style principles that double as beautiful life lessons for moms—and they might just shift the way you think about both your wardrobe and your parenting. We'll talk about: ✨ How to use style (and motherhood) tools instead of rigid rules ✨ Why you're allowed to express different parts of yourself—on any given day ✨ The importance of building your motherhood on a foundation of your core values Whether or not you've ever cared much about fashion, this episode will help you feel more confident in showing up as you.
