Lawrence Yee, Senior Editor of People Magazine, joins Kate to discuss one of the most infamous scandals in sports history, which occurred on January 6, 1994. Seven weeks before The 1994 Olympics in Norway, figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was attacked and struck in the knee with a baton, rendering her unable to participate in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The attack put Kerrigan's Olympic dreams into doubt, and focused suspicion on rival skater Tonya Harding. Within days, Harding's estranged husband Jeff Gillooly was arrested, along with three other men, while Harding proclaimed her innocence. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the scandal. He had three different names before he was three months old. He said, “The first name I ever had was Jeremy Jones… In the foster homes … I was Toby … Now my given name, Aaron Parchem…” For Aaron Parchem, silver medalist at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, adapting to new environments was not an option, but rather a necessity. It is a skill that not only helped Aaron Parchem during his early childhood years, but also during his time as a figure skater. He said, “In skating… when I tell people that I was a figure skater for the first time, you get kind of a blank look like, ‘Is this guy messing with me?' … I've come to expect it and that is what it is … I don't look like a figure skater … I didn't even when I did it … I am a straight, black male in skating… When you're unique, you're going to elicit unique responses…” Embracing his identity and surrounding himself with giving people were the only ways to break through some of the remarks Aaron had received along the way as a figure skater, a profession that has taught him life lessons that cannot be replaced. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, “Am I happy with who I have become?” EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: On Challenges: “People rise to the occasion when they're challenged” On Empowerment: Live in the service of others On Support Groups: Find people who'll support you no matter what On Self: Develop a good understanding of who you are on the inside (feelings, values, and tools that you can use to accomplish your goals)

'First runner-up' at the 'People's Choice Award' of the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. In real life, Margot is not considered "white trash". Wrapped filming on March 10, 2017 according to Margot Robbie's Instagram account. First film where Margot Robbie says "Suck my dick!". Offscreen, Margot Robbie cannot perform a triple axel. Kaiser Permanente provided the oxygen tube and canister for Allison Janney's character. At the time of this "article", it is unknown if Jeff Stone (Gillooly) has seen I, Tonya. This film breaks the fourth wall. Margot Robbie took several of the scrunchies used throughout filming. The Lloyd Center Skating Rink in Portland, Oregon offers a Platinum Birthday Party Package starting at $225. Allison Janney had seriously trained to become a figure skater throughout her childhood and adolescence. However, when she was 17, she accidentally walked into a sliding glass door and gravely injured her right leg. In 2014, during an interview on "Fresh Air," Janney told interviewer Terry Gross that her leg came close to being amputated. "I lost like three-quarters of my blood. I lost an artery and cut tendon....I was in the hospital for like seven--seven, eight weeks. I missed my first year of college. You know, and after that, of course, I didn't really--I didn't skate for a very long time." To prevent damaging her hair, Margot Robbie wears wigs as Tonya Harding. Surprisingly, the hair team used beer to achieve the "crunchy" permed look when regular hair products didn't produce the desired result. This Week's Featured Topic: Dr. Brian Mather is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. During our 15 minute interview, Dr. Mather and I discuss the latest findings on the #1 cause of low back pain among people who are physically active, and the exact steps that can be taken to eliminate the pain related to sacroiliac joint issues (SI joint syndrome). For more information on Dr. Mather, just visit Spokane Sports Chiropractic. In the second interview, I speak with a gentleman named Jim Dragon about a brand new nutritional supplement that is showing a great deal of promise for bone health and stress fractures. It is called "lactoferrin", and is found in an impressive dietary supplement called Osteodenx, which you can find by clicking here. The ingredients include a cocktail of many of the effective bone-building supplements we've discussed on this show, such as Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol), Folic acid, Zinc (from zinc oxide) , ELF (RNAse enriched-lactoferrin), hyaluronic acid, bromelain, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, Chondroitin sulfate 100 mg and Turmeric root extract. Also in this podcast: Listener Chuck asks: I had a couple questions I was hoping you could answer for me for my race next weekend.  On Sunday I will be racing Montclair Olympic triathlon in Virginia.  The race is on Sunday and I was curious about your recommendations for tapering the week before? Also, what is the best way to train the week after the race - take a day off, get right back into it? Listener Jane asks: Now that we're in the middle of the summer, I'm finding myself absolutely craving more calories in between meals, especially from "crunchy" foods, like cracker mixes and banana chips. Are these type of foods healthy for snacking? I have also received a couple questions about  online personal training. So I've answered them in a video.
