Hello and welcome to episode 123 of the Still Spinning Podcast. Happy Thanksgiving Week to everyone! Dan and Nicole are very thankful for you all. A story out of Wisconsin about a woman who cut off her ankle monitor at her group home and escaped. Isn't the whole point of the ankle monitor to be fairly sturdy and impossible to remove? Dan has some great information and a recap of her case, as well as some info about her “escape.” No need to be frightened about this one, she has been caught (again). In this day and age, you have to assume someone is ALWAYS listening. A Campbell's soup executive found out the hard way when a direct report recorded him saying some VERY unflattering things about both the product AND the customer. Oh boy. Also Dan and Nicole hate tomatoes. It comes up in this segment so consider this a spoiler. And finally, the best cheese in the world has been named and no it is not from Wisconsin. Nicole, for one, would love to be a cheese judge but only for cow. Sheep and goat cheese are both disgusting. You can watch the live taping most Mondays at 7 PM on Facebook, YouTube or Instagram OR wait until the official podcast release on Wednesday morning. Visit your usual podcast subscription service to add us to your list. Visit our website for more details on becoming a sponsor and buying merch. All of this at stillspinningpodcast.com. Have a wonderful holiday! Spinners, we will talk to you the day after Thanksgiving.
------------------ SHOW NOTES ------------------ Episode Number: 400 Episode Title: Happy Thanksgiving Week & A Heartfelt Thank You As we celebrate Episode 400 of The Everyday Life Balance Show, this special Thanksgiving week episode is a heartfelt love letter to gratitude, growth, and you. In this conversation, Pascale honours the journey so far, explores the three levels of gratitude (for blessings, for what works, and for what doesn't seem to work yet), and gently invites you to see your life through a more loving, appreciative lens. You'll be guided to notice not only the obvious gifts in your life, but also the hidden blessings inside your challenges, and to let gratitude become a daily practice that soothes your nervous system, lifts your spirit, and reconnects you to the Creator and the people you love. Podcast Highlights: [00:54] Warm welcome, celebrating Episode 400 and Thanksgiving week [01:53] Why gratitude is such a powerful antidote to fear and negativity [02:27] The 3 levels of gratitude and how they show up in everyday life [03:33] Level 3 gratitude: finding meaning and growth in challenging experiences[04:30] Simple daily gratitude rituals you can start today [06:30] Invitation to deepen your practice with The Gratitude Experiment series [08:10] Closing blessing of love, peace, and appreciation for you Resources: The Gratitude Experiment Series (Episodes 366–372) – 7-part guided journey into gratitude on The Everyday Life Balance Show: https://www.theeverydaylifebalanceshowpodcast.com/episodes/?page=2 (The Everyday Life Balance Show) The Everyday Life Balance Show – All Episodes https://www.theeverydaylifebalanceshowpodcast.com/episodes (The Everyday Life Balance Show) Connect with Pascale: Website: https://www.pascalegibon.com (youtube.com) Email: www.pascalegibon.com/contact Happy Thanksgiving Week & A Heartfelt Thank You In this tender, milestone episode, Pascale celebrates 400 episodes of The Everyday Life Balance Show and invites you into a gentle exploration of gratitude as a way of living. She shares her personal love of giving thanks to the Creator, family and friends, and to the quiet helpers who cross our path and she introduces the 3 levels of gratitude: Gratitude for what we receive Gratitude for what works Gratitude for what doesn't seem to work yet You'll discover how each level invites you deeper into trust, inner peace, and emotional freedom. Through heart-centred reflections and simple practices, this episode encourages you to see how life is not happening to you, but for you — even when it's hard. Pascale also extends a special invitation to continue your journey with her 7-part series, The Gratitude Experiment, so you can keep cultivating gratitude long after Thanksgiving week has passed. Table of Contents Celebrating Episode 400 & Thanksgiving Week The 3 Levels of Gratitude Gratitude for Challenging Experiences Everyday Gratitude Rituals for Midlife Women Extending Love, Appreciation & Peace The Gratitude Experiment Invitation Conclusion Celebrating Episode 400 & Thanksgiving Week Pascale opens the episode by welcoming you, beautiful soul, and acknowledging the sacred milestone of reaching Episode 400. She shares her heartfelt appreciation for your presence — whether you've just discovered the podcast or have been listening for years. This opening sets a tone of warmth and reverence, reminding you that you are part of a living, breathing community of women choosing love, growth, and inner peace. With Thanksgiving week as the backdrop, Pascale reflects on how easy it is to get swept up in fear, comparison, or negative news, and how consciously practising gratitude can gently bring us back to centre, to hope, and the truth that we are supported. The 3 Levels of Gratitude In the heart of the episode, Pascale introduces a simple yet powerful framework: the 3 levels of gratitude. Gratitude for what we receive The obvious blessings: a warm home, food on the table, a loving message, a body that carries you through the day. This is the "thank you" we offer for the visible gifts in our lives. Gratitude for what works The projects that go well, the nourishing conversations, the new habits that support your well-being. Here, Pascale encourages you to pause and notice what's flowing, instead of rushing past it or taking it for granted. Gratitude for what doesn't work so well The setbacks, disappointments, and confusing seasons. This level invites you to open your heart and ask: "What is this here to teach me?" "Where might I be growing through this?" By walking you through these levels, Pascale helps you see gratitude not just as a list of "nice things", but as a spiritual and emotional practice that transforms how you relate to life itself. Gratitude for Challenging Experiences This section focuses on Level 3 gratitude, which is often the most stretching and the most liberating. Pascale gently acknowledges that it's not easy to feel grateful when things seem to be falling apart or when your heart feels heavy. She doesn't sugarcoat the reality of pain, grief, or uncertainty. Instead, she invites you to shift from: "Why is this happening to me?" to "How might this be happening for me?" By approaching your challenges with curiosity and compassion, you start to see: Hidden strengths that were awakened in you Old patterns or beliefs that are ready to be released New directions or deeper alignment that emerge from the disruption This is where you move from victim to victor, not by denying your feelings, but by allowing gratitude to shine a small light in the dark corners of your experience. Everyday Gratitude Rituals for Midlife Women Pascale then shares simple, sustainable ways to weave gratitude into your everyday life, especially if you're a busy midlife woman juggling many roles. She suggests practices such as: A 3-line evening gratitude journal : Write down three things you're grateful for before bed — they can be tiny, ordinary moments. Heart-centred morning moments : Place your hand on your heart when you wake up and whisper, "Thank you for this new day." Pause-and-thank breaks : Throughout the day, when something kind or supportive happens — even a stranger's smile — silently say, "Thank you." Pascale reminds you that gratitude is energy, and what you focus on expands. When you choose to notice what's working, what's beautiful, and what's loving, you begin to feel lighter, calmer, and more supported from the inside out. Extending Love, Appreciation & Peace In this section, Pascale widens the lens of gratitude beyond the personal and invites you to: Give thanks for the people who support you — family, friends, colleagues, and quiet angels in your life. Appreciate the peace of your immediate environment, especially if you live in a country free from war or major upheaval. Remember that the ability to love, to give, and to appreciate is itself a profound gift. She gently anchors you back into the awareness that gratitude and love are deeply connected — and that every time you consciously appreciate something, you are contributing to more peace, within yourself and in the world around you. The Gratitude Experiment Invitation As the episode nears its close, Pascale invites you to deepen your practice through her 7-part series, The Gratitude Experiment (Episodes 366–372), available on The Everyday Life Balance Show. She briefly describes how the series guides you through: • Unlocking everyday happiness • Offering gratitude as a gift to yourself and others • Harvesting hope in difficult seasons • Practising mindful gratitude in the present moment • Adopting an attitude of gratitude as a way of being • Writing your way to a more grateful mindset • Reflecting, renewing, and rejoicing in your growth You're encouraged to either binge-listen over a week or savour one episode per week, allowing gratitude to become a gentle, ongoing journey, not just a seasonal practice. Conclusion Pascale closes this milestone episode with a heartfelt blessing, letting you know how deeply grateful she is for you, your presence, your willingness to grow, and your commitment to choosing love in a world that often forgets it. She invites you, this Thanksgiving week and beyond, to: Notice what is working Honour the lessons in what is not Keep your heart open to the gifts of love and gratitude You're left with a sense of warmth, connection, and possibility, and a clear reminder that you are not walking this path alone. With love, light, peace and joy, Until next time…

Happy Thanksgiving Week, everyone! Today I'll be reading a Thanksgiving story titled "Two Thanksgiving Day Gentlemen" by the legendary short story master O. Henry. It's a funny and thoughtful tale about two men bound by tradition… but I won't spoil anything! After the story, I chat a bit about our own traditions and ask an important question: Is it okay for some traditions to come to an end? I also share a Christmas book recommendation and talk about Words Christmas Gave Us by Grace Tierney. You can listen to my interview with her in last week's episode! Listen, Patience is the real flex when you're playing the long game in life and wealth. Think of it like planting a seed—you don't dig it up every day to see if it's growing. Nah, you water it, you nurture it, and you trust the process. Whether it's your investments, your goals, or your hustle, patience is what separates the wealthy mindset from the broke mentality. The reward? It's not just the growth you see—it's the discipline you build, the wisdom you gain, and the freedom you create. Real wealth takes time, so stay locked in and let time compound your greatness. Happy Thanksgiving Week!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Week! It's a week full of rivalry games, College Football Playoff implications and most importantly Turkey Bowl games in your backyard. Anyone else already claim “all-time QB”?With that said, we bring you a special Thanksgiving episode of Y-Option, thanks to our founding partner 76, with a unique guest in Big Sky commissioner Tom Wistrcill.Commissioner Wistrcill is in his 5th year leading the Big Sky and this weekend they kick off their postseason with 5 of his schools in the FCS Playoffs. He shares insight into his leadership philosophy, the impact he thinks the CFP will have on college football, the state of roster management, the trickle up & down effect in college football, the Pac-12 rebuild and what the next move should be in the chaotic world of college football. It's a powerful discussion from someone who is in the rooms where meaningful decisions are made. As FBS football changes shape in a matter of weeks, Commissioner Wistrcill offers a lens from someone who has worked in the Big Ten and been an FBS Athletic Director and is now leading the top conference in FCS.In addition, Jim Thornby and I explore some hot topics with a thoughtful lens. For instance, did Travis Hunter get snubbed for the Thorpe Award? What's happening in the Big 12? Will Cal take down SMU and how would that impact the ACC's standing in the CFP? Will UW roll with true freshman Demond Williams at QB against the top team in the land, Oregon? A reminder that the CFP is not an invitational and if you lose 3 games you are not given a pass. Plus, I give some major takeaways from my first season in the B1G and my thoughts on the massive showdown in Columbus with Ohio State hosting Michigan. We finish off by sharing what we are thankful for (spoiler, it's YOU!).Pre-Thanksgiving I'm about to embark on baking a few pies and post-Thanksgiving, I'm off to the Rose Bowl to call one final game this fall alongside our phenomenal Big Ten Network crew. If history suggests, it's going to be another close one as our crew only calls tight games! Or as our group text thread states, #BangersOnly!Much love and many thanks to all of you and if you're playing in your Turkey Bowl, I fully expect to see a version of what Cal and Illinois ran for their 2-point plays last weekend or if you dare, bust out this end around from the Dolphins.Much love,YogiThis episode is executive produced by Jim Thornby and edited by Victor RenThis podcast is a Best Coast Media productionY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication. Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. In scripture, the Greek word "χάριτι" "phi-ti" refers to the quality of showing appreciation and returning kindness Once you realize that God is working in your life, you'll show gratefulness in how you live. The Bible mentions the word "gratitude" (χάριτι and other variations in Greek) 157 times. It does not appear as frequently as "fear not" (which is said 365 times), but it appears more than "thanks" or "thanksgiving" (mentioned 72 times). Colossians 3:15-17 NIV: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Happy Thanksgiving Week, Cranberry Sauce fans! See? It's red. So it works. Although we left the month of October behind, we still thought it would be a good time to talk about October - or at least an October - as we discuss the 1990 film, The Hunt for Red October. As the Dave, Chris, Mikey and the rest of America get ready to celebrate and give thanks on this Thursday (aka, eating and watching football), a certain sub captain (with an incredible wig) was very thankful that a certain CIA agent (with incredible hair) figured out that all the captain wanted to do was....eat and watch football on Thursday. Sunday November 19 to 26 Psalm 107:17-22 20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing. Happy Thanksgiving Week! Because of my schedule this week I will not be making my daily Pastor Chats the rest of this week. This afternoon I will be flying down to Florida to help move one of my grandchildren from Florida back to Roanoke Virginia on Monday. I will be driving a moving van, towing a car for over 900 miles. I covet your prayers for safe travels. My wife and I will spend the rest of the week with our children and grandchildren in Virginia celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday with them. I hope to resume the chats next Sunday the 26th. I am so thankful for all my friends and everyone who “tunes in” to this daily chat with me seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and live for Him every day! This is a good week to remember that Psalm 107 begins with an exhortation for us to give thanks! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever” (v. 1). The rest of the chapter gives us several reasons why we should be thankful. We have already mentioned two of them. Four times in this chapter we read: “Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses.” And four times we are told: “Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!” In verses 4-9, we are described as someone who is lost and wandering in the wilderness in a desolate condition. We are hungry and thirsty and in a state of distress and hopelessness. But we cry out to the LORD and He delivers us out of our distress! For this we should be thankful! In verses 10-16, we are described as someone who has rebelled against God and have despised His Word and His counsel. We become slaves in bondage to our sins, the flesh and the devil. We fall down and there is no one to help us! But again, when we cry out to the LORD, He hears us and delivers us out of our distress! For this we should be thankful! Now in verses 17-22, we are described as someone who has not only wandered and lost in the wilderness, in bondage to our sin because of our rebellion, but we have now lost our health because of our foolish living and our sins. This almost sounds like someone who has become addicted to drugs and alcohol and has lost their appetite, wasted away to nothing and at the “gate of death”, about to die. But once again, “we cry out to the LORD in our trouble, and He saves us out of our distresses”! I love what it says in verse 20. “He sent His Word and healed them”! The only place in the world we can find true healing for our soul, our mental state, our emotions, is in the Word of God! The Word of God is the Water of Life! The Word of God is the Bread of Life! The Word of God is the Living Word of Life Who is Jesus Christ! John 1:1-2 tells us that: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” Then in verse 14, John proclaimed, “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory…” God sent His Word, Jesus Christ to bring true healing to our weary souls and set us free from our sin! Jesus Himself proclaimed: “And if the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed' (John 8:36). So, today and all this Thanksgiving Week, may the LORD help us to: “sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing. Have a wonderful day and a great week! God bless!
