Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan has, through the previous two seasons, provided broadly more questions than answers. But fear not, dear listeners! If you've stuck with us thus far, then you'll be proud to hear that Season 3 is the undeniably euphoric catharsis the gang has been waiting for. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together! Flashbacks galore! A return to Shiganshina! MANIFEST DESTINY! The development team, Studio Wit, and my boy Hiroyuki Sawano have come together and delivered an absolute masterclass in Season 3, expanding the story around Eren, Armin, and Mikasa to build the world like never before, with key focus on Eren's father, the Ackerman bloodline, the true history of the world and the ramifications of that history on the current royal family. Come for all of that, and stay for our end-of-episode Theory Wall Sina, where all three of Iris, Marcus, and Michael get some previous theories validated as we look forward to Season 4. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is almost here, so what better time to dive into this musically fascinating "side" tale from 2015? Many fans were surprised that the first Xenoblade Chronicles was not followed by a "2" (though that happened later), but by Xenoblade Chronicles X. The name and looks alone made it clear this was a different beast: XCX features some now-familiar Xenoblade components and scale, but the more "worldly" nature of its story outside of the "main" plot thread was almost as divisive as its soundtrack to some players. When your first game features music by Yoko Shimomura, ACE+, Manami Kiyota, and Yasunori Mitsuda, pivoting soundtrack duties to "Attack on Titan guy," Hiroyuki Sawano, makes people take notice. The whole Xenoblade series is packed with unforgettable music, but there's no denying that none of them sound quite like the sometimes weird, often catchy, and above all, wholly unexpected, Xenoblade Chronicles X.Featuring: Mike Salbato, Wes Iliff, Stephanie Sybydlo, Sean Cabot; Edited by Mike SalbatoTracklistUncontrollable Wes0:08:25 - ‌Uncontrollable0:11:05 - Don't worryZ5 Sean0:25:55 - ‌Black tar0:29:55 - ‌Z5 MiraWir Stephegen0:43:03 - ‌Wir fliegen0:46:25 - ManonMike X1:00:44 - Shiro no Tairiku1:05:44 - ‌Theme X1:32:44 - Everyone's Bonus TrackAlbum links for places to buy, stream, and more are available in our post on RPGFan.Get in Touch:RPGFan.comRPGFan ShopEmail us: music@rpgfan.comTwitter: @rpgfancomBluesky: @rpgfan.bsky.socialInstagram: @rpgfancomThreads: @rpgfancomFacebook: rpgfancomTwitch: rpgfancom

Widely considered to be one of the best anime series of all time (especially to Western audiences), Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan has action, gore, giant organic mecha, bureaucracy, and subterfuge all packed into a TV journey bolstered with great animation from Studio Wit and a baller soundtrack from my boy Hiroyuki Sawano. Given that resident weeb Alex has already watched the entire series, the rest of the gang gets to experience Season 1 at face value: it introduces characters, provides lore and information on Titans in little bite-sized nuggets, and has some really cool fight scenes...but what more is hidden behind the scenes? Stick around for a slightly different Theory Wall segment at the end of the episode, where Iris, Marcus, and Michael call their shots on how things might shake out in Season 2. Frank Tedesco (b. 1992) is an American composer for games, film, and other media. His compositional style often focuses on melodically-driven themes and ideas, strong percussive elements, and rhythmic electronics. He cites a few of his top musical influences as Nobuo Uematsu, David Wise, Koji Kondo, and Hiroyuki Sawano. Frank is also a classically trained pianist and a YouTuber. Frank is a graduate from The Hartt School of Music, where he majored in Composition and gained experience composing for games, film, commercials, and chamber ensembles. A highlight during his time at Hartt was composing and performing a piano piece for the current President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame. It was at Hartt that Tedesco began his creative partnership with composer/pianist Zach Heyde. After creating a four-hand arrangement of "Sleigh Ride" for YouTube, the duo was hired part-time by Alfred Music Publishing and has completed 3 other arrangements for the company to date. Over the years Frank & Zach continued their collaborations, creating the sheet music webstore Stems Up Sound and founding Frank & Zach Piano Duets--a YouTube channel with over 325,000 subscribers. Our best episode yet! (minus the tech issues lol) This episode is filled to the brim with awesome shit. Preston Hargrove is back at it, bringing some sick piano covers and very insightful lyric analyses. We also stumbled upon some of our own super interesting fan theories -- and we mean theories -- even though Preston has read the manga, neither Emily nor I have gotten any information past where the AoT anime left us. And he did a very good job not spoiling anything for us. Oh yeah! We even got to bash one of the worst anime OP's to date.We also touched on something a little closer to home -- Mental Health in the Anime Community -- and were blown away by the amazing non-profit business venture that Preston intends to start. You're a beautiful soul, friend. Keep up the wonderful work! We'll support you every step of the way!Enjoy the show!Intro and outro songs were performed by Preston. Here are some hard realities of life that we all need to accept: Tom Brady is an eldritch god living among the humans, Hunter x Hunter and Berserk both have the same billion-to-one odds of ever coming back full-time, and nothing that any other studio makes could match the avant-garde glory that is Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1995 anthology film MEMORIES. Try as they might, very little can even stand in its league, and we caught the Discotek Media global dub premiere of the film and had some high praise all around for it. Definitely more praise than a more recent film that may be the reason why Hayao Miyazaki will never stay retired – another hard truth for all of us to accept. And we also spend a rather sizable amount of time going over some fresh dub casts for some excellent shows of the winter season (and Hidden Dungeon, also), a small batch of Netflix projects to go over and also dissect one such project’s very questionable name and marketing, and even dive deep into why we can’t find the second Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution film *anywhere.* Sadly, there is no Metallica in this program. Known in Japan as "Shingeki no Kyojin," this anime might go down in history as the greatest anime of all time! This episode of Anime Noise was, without a doubt, our favorite and the most special one so far. Why? Because we had the pleasure to host an amazing guest! The very talented super weeb Preston Hargrove, or @mrmusicmajor as he is known in the social media world, joins us on this thrill ride that is the 1st season of AOT.While we frequently veered off the main topic, Emily kept us all mostly in check. It's just so easy to do when you have such a passionate guest! Between us being in awe of Sawano's masterpiece of a film score, talking about what actually makes an anime "great," and laughing at the variety of "Karens" around the world, our trio absolutely FANGIRLS over all things anime and music. We hope you all enjoy the episode as much as we did!IG: @animenoisepodcast @mrmusicmajorYouTube Playlist: AN-8: Attack on Titan [Season 1]Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/animenoise)

Just give it a listen and have a good time. As for ST3K, the latest progress report states that he should be back up and running by next week. We had to install a few new bits and bots, but he should be the same ol' ST3K. Hopefully. As always, be sure to follow us on Twitter @sutekijam, and rate and review us on iTunes!

Hey everybody, we're back. That's right, Spotty Translation is back, and it didn't take singing dinosaurs to make it happen. In fact, all it took was some simple social engineering to convince Whales are Whales co-founder Bryan Kelly to bring back the show, and he even agreed to come along for the ride! How exciting! Now, season two of Spotty T is gonna be a little different from when Stephen was sitting in the anime chair. First things first, we got rid of the anime chair and replaced it with a puppet chair like Chairy from Pee-Wee's Playhouse. We're also not gonna be watching an episode per series each week instead focusing on a single program through its entirety which brings me to my next point. We're not technically watching anime in season two instead opting for Taiwanese-Japanese collaboration Thunderbolt Fantasy that brings Pili's hand puppetry into the world of celebrated Japanese writer Urobuchi Gen. Zachary and Bryan recap the first episode, share some thoughts and discuss how the puppets are made and move. It's highly recommend that you watch the first episode if you haven't before listening, and you can do so over at Crunchyroll. Oh, and be sure to watch episode 2, Attack of the Xuán Guǐ Zōng!, before checking back in two weeks time when the next episode of Spotty Translation goes up. On a final note, here are all the characters who appear in the first episode of Thunderbolt Fantasy with their Chinese, Japanese and English names. It's important to keep track of in this multi-lingual (and cultural) series. Dān Héng (丹衡 Tan Kō, Vermillion Balance)Dān Fěi (丹翡 Tan Hi, Vermillion Kingfisher)Sēn Luó Kū Gǔ (森羅枯骨 Shinra Kokotsu, Bones of Creation)Cán Xiōng (殘凶 Zan Kyō, Vicious)Shāng Bù Huàn (殤不患 Shō Fu Kan, Unconcerned with Dying Young) Lǐn Xuě Yā (凜雪鴉 Rin Setsu A, Austere Snow Crow)Song: thunderBOLTfantasy by Hiroyuki Sawano

In this week's Suteki Jam, GK is doing this best impression of a member from Whales are Whales that you may recognize. It's still very obvious that it's GK though so don't be concerned with that. After all, we're here for the music, and what a doozy we have this week. Thunderbolt Fantasy is just about the best thing to happen to anime in years, and it's especially impressive as it's just a bunch of puppets murdering each other. The music is a perfect accoutrement composed by Xenoblade X and Kill La Kill composer Hiroyuki Sawano. It might just be his best work, however, which is why it's gonna be in two parts. If you can't wait to hear part 2, you can just go ahead and purchase the soundtrack from Amazon. We here at Suteki Jam highly recommend it.
