Dr. J. Warren Smith is Professor of Historical Theology at Duke Divinity School. Professor Smith is a great guide in helping us to see hope for the future in listening to voices of hope from the past. We talk with him about how some sayings, perspectives, and experiences of those who lived many centuries ago can be resonant in the midst of the challenges of our time. Besides being compelling and interesting, and at times upsetting, encountering theology in history can be a lot of fun. Enjoy.
Can LGBTQ-identified individuals rediscover faith amid religious trauma? What paths are open for queer people who hold onto Christian beliefs despite facing rejection? And what the heck does ontology have to do with gender and sexuality? On this episode, Rev. J.J. Warren and I explore these issues and more through the lens of Paul Tillich's theology.

Toronto Raptors vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Pick Prediction 11/26/2021 by Tony T. Raptors at Pacers—Indiana has gotten healthier with only T.J Warren on the injury report. On the Toronto side OG Anunoby missed his fourth straight game on Wednesday and questionable with a hip injury. Raptors have not been able to win consecutive wins since November 3rd. In that ten game period between back to back wins the Raptors sit last in defensive efficiency by allowing 117 points per 100 possessions. Caris Levert has been in minute restrictions the past four games and played 27 against the Lakers. Pacers finally play back to back home games after two straight one game home stand which wears out team from the travel in and out after a single home game. It was a four game road trip then one at home. Then three on the road one at h

Alex and Facci kick off the show discussing the NBA Trade Deadline, and how the moves impacted the Pacers. The guys look closely at the Victor Oladipo trade and compare it to the deal Indiana made for him, potential buyout candidates with the departure of Jalen Lecque and what the T.J. Warren injury means for the current Pacers team. Later, Alex is joined by Derek Schultz to discuss the news of Oshae Brissett, the Pacers inactivity at the deadline, the reason Derek said this team was "boring" in a tweet a few weeks ago, the missed draft picks that have set this team back over the last 4 seasons and why Pacers fans should give Bjorkgren a longer time to prove himself with a healthy roster + the reason you should be monitoring this team closely down the stretch of the season: Caris LeVert.

Beheaded by Duck Last week's director's lottery came out with Jonathan Glazer, so this week Rob, Aidan and Graham sit down for the British maverick's sci-fi psych-out "Under the Skin". Scarlett Johansson, white transit van, Glasgow - you know the drill. A special Off the Shelf, meanwhile, sees them taking selections from Indicator's Norman J. Warren box set, to wit "Terror", "Bloody New Year" and "Satan's Slave". What kind of exploitation is this? Everything. It's Everythingsploitation. As Kent State University President Dr. Beverly J. Warren prepares to depart the university, we sat down with President Warren to discuss her time as leader of the university. Dr. Warren became the 12th president of Kent State University in July 2014. She will be suceeded by current Kent State Provost, Dr. Todd A. Diacon.

“We are called to go and to untie, to set free and not to exclude. This story reminds us that the lowly, even those that society and the church ties down, will be used to do the work of God in our world today.”How have you seen churches and our society constrain and tie people down? What does it look like for you to work to help set these people free?//Luke 19:29-36When he had come near Bethphage and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples, saying, “Go into the village ahead of you, and as you enter it you will find tied there a colt that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say this, ‘The Lord needs it.’” So those who were sent departed and found it as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” They said, “The Lord needs it.” Then they brought it to Jesus; and after throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. Summer is here and Pride season is in full swing! I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this year’s inaugural UNITE! Music Festival at San Diego Pride; a weekend that’s gearing up to be what feels like is going to be the biggest pride celebration on the west coast this summer. On Saturday night, I’ll be playing at OVERDRIVE at Spin Nightclub, alongside three absolute legends: Ivan Gomez, Nina Flowers and Dawna Montell. I hope you enjoy this podcast. It includes remixes and production work by many fellow UNITE! DJs, including Gomez, DJ Grind (Fri. night), GSP (Fri. night), and Tom Staar (Sat. afternoon), along with amazing new remixes by J Warren & Bret Law, Barry Harris, Johnny Bass, Thomas Solvert and many more. It's been hard not to think about anything other than Orlando lately. And now, more than ever, it's important that we continue owning the gay dance floor as a place to feel safe and to express ourselves. Our music and our celebrations of Pride must not be silenced. I end this podcast with one of the most special remixes in the world to me, my idol, Junior Vasquez’s, 1998 Pride mix of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” – it’s not your typical modern circuit fare, but it’s a very powerful musical journey (in and of itself) which I hope to be able to introduce for the first time to many of my podcast listeners. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s beautiful smiles on the dance floor for UNITE! (re-updated, Jan. 2016!) We're midway through summer and it's time for my latest podcast. It's been an amazing past couple of months for me, as I've traveled across the U.S. several times to play everywhere from Pensacola to NYC, New Orleans to Atlanta, and Vegas to Vancouver. If ever one of my podcasts plays like a bell curve, it's this one … a true journey of sound that builds up with a tech house intro, peaks in the middle with a high-energy circuit set, and then slowly cools down with some future house and one of my favorite throwback classics! My last deep house podcast (Deep Spring House Part 2) was the first podcast that I didn't record live at home – rather I switched to using Ableton. And this is my first circuit podcast that I've made using Ableton. You'll notice fewer effects, but more smooth transitions. Catch me this Saturday night in Vancouver, British Columbia, where I'll be headlining the ONYX Pride event at club XY on Davie Street. The Tracklist: 1) I Wanna Be Disco (Dosem Remix) – Chicco Secci & Benny Benassi feat.
