(STINGER: WWE) The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on last night's RAW in an apparent backstage dispute over booking plans. Last night's show opened up promoting a “6 Pack Challenge” to decide the #1 contender for the Raw Women's Championship…with Banks, Naomi, Becky Lynch, Asuka, Nikki A.S.H., and Doudrop. But less than an hour into the show, that match was changed during a backstage segment where Lynch said Banks and Naomi had left the building. Reports soon surfaced that this had actually happened…and WWE released a statement that stated that Banks and Naomi went into John Laurinaitis' office during the broadcast, put their title belts on his desk, and walked out…claiming they were ”uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents”. Banks and Naomi were repeatedly referred to as “unprofessional” during the remainder of RAW. The main event saw Asuka beat Becky Lynch in a one-on-one match. She will challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship at Hell In A Cell. Also now set for that event, Cody Rhodes will face Seth Rollins inside Hell In A Cell. Bobby Lashley beat Omos in a steel cage match. Omos threw Lashley through a panel of the cage and Lashley was able to walk away with the win. Veer Mahaan got a submission win over Mustafa Ali. The Miz was once again the special guest referee. And United States Champion Theory was also there to cause trouble for Ali. A post-match attack was interrupted by Rey & Dominik Mysterio's return to RAW. RAW Tag Team Champion Riddle beat SmackDown Tag Champ Jimmy Uso. Roman Reigns became the longest-reigning Universal Champion in WWE history over the weekend, eclipsing Brock Lesnar's 503-day reign. The Viking Raiders are the #1 contenders for the SmackDown Tag Titles. They earned that by winning a 4-way on Friday's SmackDown. Also, Aliyah got a roll-up win over Natalya. WWE said the match time of 3.17 seconds is a new record for the fastest women's match in company history. As of Sunday night, there are no matches announced for tonight's RAW. Jon Moxley is returning to the ring. GCW announced he will defend the GCW Title against Homicide at GCW's big show at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on January 23rd. Moxley stepped away from the ring last November to enter an inpatient alcohol treatment program. There's been no announcement on when Mox will return to AEW. Also announced for GCW's Hammerstein show…The Briscoes will hold an open challenge for their GCW Tag Titles. At GCW's show in Detroit on Friday night, Matt Cardona won the ECW TV Title from Rhino. Lynch now heads off to join the Raw roster as the Raw Women's Champion. Charlotte is now the SmackDown Women's Champ. Brock Lesnar showed up to go after Universal Champion Roman Reigns...and anyone who dared to get in his way. After the dust settled, Adam Pearce announced that Lesnar is suspended indefinitely. So, Lesnar came back out to give Pearce a pair of F5's. Also on Friday's SmackDown…Happy Corbin beat Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match. (STINGER: WWE) Roman Reigns' road to a seemingly inevitable SummerSlam showdown with John Cena...took an unexpected detour on last night's SmackDown. Cena opened the show and demanded Reigns answer his challenge for the match. Reigns didn't show up to face Cena in person. But Reigns eventually showed up at the end of the show...and announced that the answer is “no”. Cena was not present for this. But Finn Balor entered...and issued his own challenge. This time, Reigns agreed...and that's when the show faded to black. Earlier, Balor pinned Sami Zayn with the Coup de Grace. Part of last night's SmackDown was broadcast from the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in Miami. A massive crowd of music fans got to see two matches. Bianca Belair beat Carmella to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship...and Angelo Dawkins beat Chad Gable. WWE had been promoting Big E vs. Apollo Crews as the second match at Rolling Loud. Instead, those two were in Cleveland...for a segment that also included Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura - with Rick Boogs - and Cesaro...who said he wants a shot at Crews' Intercontinental Title. Toni Storm's SmackDown debut was a win over Zelina Vega. She pinned her with her new Storm One finisher. Also, Jimmy Uso stole a pinfall win over Dominik Mysterio...with a little leverage assist from Jey Uso. WWE announced it will be running a pay per view on New Year's Day - that's Saturday, January 1st - at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan has a major show on Sunday. It's Wrestle Grand Slam in Tokyo Dome. But as of Friday night, there's still no guarantee that Kota Ibushi will be there for his main event title match. Ibushi is scheduled to challenge Shingo Takagi for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. But Ibushi is recovering from aspiration pneumonia.
