Real invitations for us around allowing ourselves to be our own best experts and attendants and advocates and around our receptivity to the good and supportive things that are available for us. It's the reminder that while we all deserve to be seen and supported and cared for by a community and loved ones, we are the only ones that can know ourselves best.
This week I share some thoughts around and tips for creating our own altars and sacred spaces. This links in really nicely with our Coaching and Tarot considerations for this Aquarius Season. I share about why so many of us a drawn to creating something like this for ourselves, what kinds of items and things we may like to add to our own (and why) and my own journey towards creating my altar space. Please note that this Audio is taken from my YouTube podcast so I may be referring to visual things that I am showing over there. I mention a concept called my 'well council' which is what I call folks/guides/spirits/beings who surround me in an unseen way and who I connect to and who support me in this life. This term was shared by Lindsay Mack from Wild Soul Healing. Love the imagery and feel of this term so much. This episode is almost three years in the making! I finally get the opportunity to sit down and chat with my biggest spiritual mentor and teacher, Lindsay Mack of Wild Soul Healing. In this episode, Lindsay and I step back from the powerful healing tool that is the Tarot, and direct our gaze towards the larger burning questions most new practitioners run into as they begin their own Tarot journey. Through a macrocosmic, microcosmic, and even a deeply personal lens, Lindsay and I seek to answer the question: "What is the Tarot, and better yet, why does it matter?" When quitting drinking is a catalyst to deep soul healing, a massive awakening, and a whole new career! In this episode, Ruby talks to tarot reader and healer Lindsay Mack about how sobriety was a gateway to the breakdown / breakthrough that helped her finally confront the ghosts of the past and step into her healing gifts. A survivor of childhood abuse, Lindsay acknowledges how she turned to medicating with alcohol as a stand-in for more profound healing modalities—and how this prevented her from moving forward. In this episode we also discuss: -What our body is telling us when we have an allergic reaction to alcohol. -Using alcohol to mask misunderstood intuitive, psychic, and empathetic healing gifts. -Being the only sober person in a family of “passionate drinkers.” -The breakdown / breakthough that led to her addressing her childhood trauma and PTSD. -Emotions and feelings as signposts for how to use our power and our gifts. -Alcohol as a way to perpetuate abuse and self-harm when it's all we know. -Using the tarot to understand addiction and as a tool for self-healing. You can learn more about Lindsay and her work at Lindsaymack.com and check out her podcast, Tarot for The Wild Soul, for more mystical wisdom. June is a gateway month, presenting us with radical opportunities to receive, inviting us to trust in the space, alignment and sweetness that will present themselves to us. What is our relationship to space? To the idea of “doing nothing?” What are our beliefs about productivity? We are cultivating greater comfort with ease and grace, allowing our nervous system to get used to that alternate rhythm of life. Although our cards and medicine for the month are very sweet, June might feel contractive to some of us. This is appropriate, since we are most certainly building new paradigms with this work. Our stories about what is valuable or superfluous might get shaken up. The invitation of the month might contradict our beliefs about what we believe we have to accomplish/get done. The truth is that we are heading into the zenith of this Empress/Hanged Man year, a year that is here to teach us to become more comfortable with spacious receiving. This is an energetic invitation that will be with us through the summer, that is most definitely ramping up now. We are clearing out the heaviness, and calling in all that fills our cup, embracing radical spaciousness. (And on the topic of radical spaciousness, Tarot for the Wild Soul will be going on summer break! We will be back with Season Two of the podcast on September 1st!) May is a powerful and complex month. We are both growing and pausing, moving and surrendering, clearing and receiving. It is a cycle full of new beginnings, big completions, activations, and spiritual homecomings, as we journey further into reclaiming our bodies and stepping into deeper alignment in our relationship with this planet we call home. We are invoking a new world with every decision we make, every action we take, and with our willingness to be with what is — the discomfort and the joy, all wrapped up in one. We are going to be served with some profound invitations to change and grow this month, opening doors to new opportunities along the way. I have found them very supportive along with the life coaching strategies in this area. Enjoy!
April is a powerhouse of a month, bringing with it the opportunity for huge energetic upgrades, and enormous transformation. This month, we are being invited to surrender to some big releases, allowing old patterns to be shed, and room to be made for the new. We are also going to be called to open our arms to receiving, welcoming in bright opportunities, and space in our lives for growth. We will be called to check in about how we are relating to this work: Are we clinging onto things, unable to let go, because we are afraid? If so, why? What are our beliefs about releasing? Are we comfortable with receiving? We will be drawn into the heart of these inquiries again and again this month, as we expand our lives in amazing directions, flowing in the infinity loop of releasing what no longer serves, and receiving what nourishes our soul. On today’s episode of Tarot for the Wild Soul, we have the amazing, brilliant, and divine Jack Ferver as our embodiment of Queen of Wands! Jack Ferver is a New York based writer, choreographer, and director, and the co-host of the podcast, “Dance and Stuff.” His genre defying performances, which have been called “so extreme that they sometimes look and feel like exorcisms” (The New Yorker), explore the tragicomedy of the human psyche. Jack’s works have been presented in New York City at the New Museum; The Kitchen; The French Institute Alliance Française, as part of Crossing the Line; Abrons Arts Center; Gibney Dance, and Performance Space 122, to name a few. His work in film and TV includes “Outside Providence,” “Gayby,” and “Strangers with Candy,” among many other credits. Queen of Wands is the witch of the deck. Ruled by fire and water, this being is the embodiment of alchemy, creating magic, ceremony, ritual and channeled medicine wherever they walk. When we embody Queen of Wands, life becomes ceremony, and we allow ourselves to be a living vessel for Divine to come through us, regardless of what medium or method we are practicing with. As the creator of such fierce and intense channeled works, Jack is truly a witch before all else, desiring for their work, writing, and theatrical pieces to be of highest service. Jack also has a beautiful embodiment with The Magician, Seven of Cups, and Knight of Wands. The Magician because of Jack’s creative, channeling process — how he brings things that are within him, out of him into the world; Seven of Cups because of Jack’s amazing ability to rest in the deep dream space, allowing ideas to form from different varieties of media and medium; Knight of Wands, because Jack truly is a living embodiment of moving through the world as yourself, in a way that only you can. Topics in this episode: • How Jack connected with Michelle Pfieffer’s performance of Catwoman in his most recent theatrical piece • Jack’s process of creation, and allowing the muses to come in • How his experience training in Martha Graham technique opened his eyes to the kind of work he wanted to create • The kind of self care he needs to utilize before his immense performances • Psychic dramaturgy • How Jack’s experience of being an abused, bullied kid has inspired him to create work that helps and heals, and so much more! March is a POWERFUL cycle. This is the month of newborn energy, the miraculous emergence of life, a time in which a whole new world can be borne within us. March holds within it a Mercury Retrograde, a New Moon in Pisces, a Full Moon in Libra ON the Spring Equinox, and, perhaps most significantly, the shift into a new zodiacal calendar. We complete our journey in Pisces, and transition into Aries season in the month of March, carried on the wings of the Equinox — the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and of Fall in the Southern Hemisphere. Life is birthing anew as the spark of creation illuminates from within us. March is a month for inward looking and profound emotional depths, and also delicious expansion. It is death and life, ending one cycle and beginning another. March is a month that invites us to Tend the Flame, to expand without exhaustion, to explore without burnout, to create without fear, to keep the flame lit within us, even as we travel deeply into the waters of our being. It is a powerful month of creation, joy, and new beginnings, and will ask us to clear everything that no longer serves, including anxiety, overwhelm, and old patterning. “The spark of creation, is flickering within me The spark of creation, is blazing in my blood A bit of the fire that lit up the stars And breathed life into the mud, the first inspiration The spark of creation I see a mountain and I want to climb it I see a river and I want to leave shore Where there was nothing let there be something Something made by me There's things waiting for me to invent them There's worlds waiting for me to explore I am an echo of the eternal cry of Let there be.” —“Spark of Creation” from Stephen Schwartz’s “Children of Eden” Topics: • Mantra for March: Tend the Flame (3:55) • March as a portal (7:17) • March is a powerful cycle: the end of Pisces and beginning of Aries season in the Spring Equinox (11:29) • The internal work we’ll be asked to do this month (19:11) • Astrological Tarot cards of the month: The Moon and The Emperor (41:40) Wild Soul Collective Tarot Reading for the month of March: MEDICINE OF THE MONTH: Ace of Wands (23:55) WHAT WE ARE BEING INVITED TO PAY ATTENTION TO: Nine of Swords (28:26) LESSON OF THE MONTH:Seven of Pentacles (31:09) WHAT WE ARE RELEASING: Ten of Wands (33:13) THE SEEDS WE ARE PLANTING/NEXT CYCLE: Ace of Cups and The Moon (35:15) TEACHER: Ten of Cups and King of Cups (38:11) ASTROLOGY FOR MARCH: • March 5th: Mercury Rx in Pisces • March 6th: New Moon in Pisces • March 21st: Full Moon in Libra/Spring Equinox/First day of Spring/Aries season • March 28th: Mercury Direct Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-march-tending-flame Enrollment for TAROT FOR THE WILD SOUL: An 8 Week Journey Into the Art of Soul Centered Tarot Reading www.tarotforthewildsoul.com TRAUMA AND THE TAROT: www.lindsaymack.com/traumaandthetarot ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. On today’s episode of the podcast, we have an extraordinary interview with Mari Andrew, who is our beautiful embodiment of The Tower, Strength, and Death! Mari is a prolific writer, artist, speaker, and author of the New York Times best-selling book, “Am I There Yet?” The Tower is a deep and intense clearing of everything that no longer serves us, and in doing so, often elevates us to the next evolutionary cycle of our lives. Mari’s Tower experience came in the form of a sudden onset of an autoimmune disease that temporarily paralyzed her, and set her off on an unexpected journey of healing, grief, and transformation. The medicine that she shares around this (and her whole journey) is truly potent, vulnerable, and beautiful — a must listen for anyone who wants to understand not only The Tower, but the life that can blossom on the other side of painful and difficult experiences. Happy New Year, Wild Souls! It’s a brand new month, which means a brand new Monthly Medicine (and some brand new artwork for the podcast, created by the amazing artist, Chelsea Iris Granger!) This is an extra special episode, as we are also transitioning into a new year, from the energy of High Priestess/Justice to Hanged Man/Empress — the first half of today’s episode is dedicated to a download on the energies of 2019 from a Numerology and Tarot perspective (if you wanna dive deeper into the new year, consider purchasing The Threshold: A Guided Journey into 2019! In today’s Tarot for the Wild Soul episode, we’re talking to doula, breathwork facilitator, and herbalist, and co-founder of Birdsong Brooklyn, Erica Livingston. The core understanding of The Empress is that it’s an invitation to receive, and receiving one of the hardest things we do on this planet. In this episode, Erica embodies this receiving energy of The Empress by sharing how to dilate so we can become more comfortable with receiving from others as well as ourselves, and how we can begin to plug in our threshold journeys. This episode also touches on embodying Death. Embodiment of Death card energy is someone who is available to the cycles of change that come with deep release and transformational rebirth. It is truly about a turning over and a transition from one form to another. So we’ll see the meeting of The Empress and Death because as Erica shares, that receiving energy is often most needed after big transitions and transformations. Topics in this episode: • A shift in how interview episodes will be focused for this Tarot for the Wild Soul podcast (0:25) • Introducing Erica Livingston, this episode’s embodiment of The Empress in the Tarot (1:25) • What is the Empress in the Tarot? Welcome to a new month, Wild Souls! Good news: the podcast is back from fall break! I’ve got big news about changes and shifts to the podcast is shifting, and I’m so excited to share them with you at the top of today’s episode! Our Monthly Medicine for December is THE COCOON, welcoming us into a space of inner work and sacred pausing in this space between death and rebirth. We cleared so much in Scorpio season specifically, saying goodbye to everything that had to be released. It is a time where we cannot return to where we came from, but have little clarity on the next steps of our lives — or how they will present themselves to us. We may not have clarity on where we are going right now, or how we will transition from the space we are in to the one we long to take root in. But rather than strategize, manipulate, force, or burn ourselves out trying to manifest our next step, we are invited to come into The Cocoon, to take a sacred pause. When anxiety about the future, or discomfort in this moment arises, we will be asked to return to our center through pausing. The Cocoon brings us from identification with the ego’s contraction to a space of embodied intimacy with ourselves. In doing this, we are available to presence, caretaking and nurturing whatever is coming up for us. Topics: • Some Tarot for the Wild Soul podcast announcements + the evolutions you can expect (2:06) • The energetic shift of this month and the powerful duality of the winter + summer solstice (17:17) • December’s monthly medicine: The Cocoon, the idea of doing some deep inner work in an energetic cocoon (23:16) • Shifting energy from an 11 year to a 12 year, from an energy of going within and honoring that alignment to an energy of completion (28:41) • Building a shelter to keep ourselves more intimately within after the deaths we’ve experienced in Scorpio season (32:09) • Preparing to meet The Hanged Man for 2019 (38:40) • The slowness and internal integration of Temperance in this Sagittarius season (39:44) Wild Soul Collective Tarot Reading for December: MEDICINE OF THE MONTH: Page of Cups Rx (48:45) WHAT’S UNDERNEATH: Six of Swords Rx (55:13) GENTLE MESSAGE FROM DIVINE: Four of Pentacles (58:10) LESSON: Seven of Swords (59:56) OVERALL ENERGY: The Moon (1:03:46) Astrology for the month: December 6th: Mercury in Sagittarius goes direct; New Moon in Sagittarius (1:07:13) December 21st: Solstice (1:07:59) December 22nd: Full Moon in Cancer (1:08:02) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-december-cocoon ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. Happy Samhain! Welcome to November, Wild Souls! To honor the new cycle ahead of us, we have a brand new Monthly Medicine on Tarot for the Wild Soul. Our Monthly Medicine for November is LIFE/DEATH/LIFE. A term coined by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, author of Women who Run with the Wolves, Life/Death/Life is a journey of inner transformation and transmutation, the spiral of rebirth. This is the energy and the invitation of the month ahead. The feel of November is very different from that of the past few months. That isn’t to imply that there won’t be huge frequency waves — some of them intense and some of beautiful and expansive — but overall, there has been a shift. Welcome to another month! Another month means another Monthly Medicine episode of Tarot for the Wild Soul, and this one is a download of epic proportions. The season of Eclipses, Retrogrades, insanely intense Moons, and cosmic laboring has come to a close. Even though we will be in a few Retrogrades this month and next, we have made it through the birth canal of the Great Void, and are ready to transition into a new cycle, a new season, a new opportunity to utilize our energy. We are ready to put all of the wisdom we have gained in the last few months into actionable steps forward. Our Monthly Medicine for September is Open Your Eyes. Opening our eyes is a choice, a moment of willingness to see something clearly, something that’s ready to be seen. What is working? What is not working? What is ready to transform? We are invited to willingly look, notice, understand and shift from a place of maturity, personal responsibility, and wisdom this month. No story, no blame, no victimhood. To make lasting, impactful changes, we must be willing to be with what is here. We are truly in a position to make some epic changes in September. We will only be able to do so by deeply seeing what is present, and the medicine it brings — even if it’s uncomfortable. One of the many ways humans throughout history have consulted with the numinous, the All, or God is through divination with sacred tools. Whether you’ve been steeped in the occult practices for years or if you’re a newbie, divination is a way to begin exploring our intuitive self, a container to develop a language, a relationship, and way of working with a wisdom that is reflected back to us. As the founder of Tarot for the Wild Soul and Wild Soul Healing, Lindsay Mack shares how she works with tarot as a divination tool personally and how her health changed and shifted by working with tarot around some of her health issues. She gives advice around giving your power away and steps you can take to gain back your power working with tarot. Lindsay shares the keys to having a tarot practice that best works for you and gives us an epic break down of the Death card, busting the biggest myths and misconceptions about tarot. Lindsay also gives sage advice for anyone interested in getting into tarot to support their own healing journey, as well as how she got through her severe complex PTSD from childhood trauma and the various modalities and practitioners that have helped her along the way. If you are seeking out your beloved, your twin flame, or your soulmate, look no further than your own reflection. You are the one you’ve been waiting for. In this episode of Tarot for the Wild Soul, I’m diving into the soul core of the “love” cards of the Tarot (The Lovers, Ace of Cups, Two of Cups, Four of Cups, and Ten of Cups), inviting listeners to explore them from an evolved, inclusive, and self-empowered perspective. In this episode, we explore: • Looking at the soulmate in the mirror and the importance of examining your marriage with yourself (2:45) • How looking for love will only create more distance from it (8:40) • All the ways in which we rob ourselves of the deep and beautiful intimacy that exists within our being — and how we can shift that (16:19) • Examining the Lovers card in the Tarot through a soul-centered perspective (24:05) • The shadow of the Lovers card as the Devil in the Tarot (31:15) • Examining the Ace of Cups card in the Tarot through a soul-centered perspective (36:30) • Examining the Two of Cups card in the Tarot through a soul-centered perspective (40:43) • The relationship between the High Priestess and the Fool in the Tarot (40:48) • Examining the Four of Cups card in the Tarot through a soul-centered perspective (43:05) • Examining the Ten of Cups card in the Tarot through a soul-centered perspective (45:13) • How important it is to begin to shift out of the paradigm that these traditionally held cards are always about the fact that a partner is coming (51:40) vHolding a space of ethics and inclusivity for everyone’s experience of love and sexuality, including those who do not date, or choose not to date (53:38) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/love-cards-tarot ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. It’s Monthly Medicine time again, an intuitively channeled forecast for the month of July. The sacred mantra for this month ahead is REBIRTH. Rebirth is the only word to describe the heat, intensity and profound energy that the month of July will be inviting all of us into. It’s a transformative month, sandwiched by two Retrogrades and two Eclipses. We are shedding, changing and clarifying on a staggering level, personally and collectively, allowing everything that’s ready to die to die. Without death, there is no rebirth. Our work will be to create the new foundations, to rewire, making and carving out space within ourselves for the new to bloom — and to do so with as much compassion and gentleness as possible. The entire month is a dilation, asking us to surrender, to trust, to allow and to make way for the massive expansions and evolutions that are on their way to us. Prepare to dive deep and transform in the month of July. In this episode, Lindsay shares and dives deep into: • Grounding and clarifying medicine from the Full Moon in Capricorn (1:15) • July’s channeled monthly medicine of rebirth, offering us a powerful chance to clear, reset, and prepare to both shed and expand profoundly (4:30) • Moving from Cancer Season (The Chariot card in the Tarot) to Leo Season (the Strength card in the Tarot) (16:12) • Wild Soul Tarot collective reading for the month ahead: Two of Wands, reversed (38:23) • What we’re leaving behind in June: King of Pentacles (42:08) • What we’re moving into in July: The Empress (44:46) • July’s gentle message from divine: Death (50:30) • The Medicine of The Emperor reversed, The Tower reversed, and Death reversed for Mars Retrograde (55:23) • Mercury Retrograde in Leo (1:02:03) • New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer and Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius (1:02:45) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-july-rebirth ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. This episode is a Wild Soul Lesson about how to utilize the Tarot for mental health and healing trauma. In this episode, Lindsay dives deep on how she worked with the Tarot during her darkest days with her PTSD (and her not so dark, still difficult days), using it to help her to determine what her brain was believing in moments of trauma, and what the truth of the soul was underneath the contraction. This episode offers ways to begin considering Tarot as a profound ally and anchor for mental contraction or brain chemistry, helping us to identify our brain from our soul, and then how to wisely respond to our circumstances from a centered place. Using Tarot in this way also helps us to safely honor and bow to the “brain stuff” and the trauma, rather than trying to push it away. This is the foundation of Lindsay’s work with the Tarot, and she is very honored to be able to share this with anyone who it could serve. In this episode we explore: • Lindsay’s own history with trauma and abuse (1:44) • How the Tarot came into Lindsay’s life as an anchor during her darkest days with her PTSD (7:19) • Finding an anchor and the practice of anchoring using the Tarot (9:26) • Feelings vs. facts and how the Tarot can help us find clarity (24:21) • How to use the Tarot to process trauma, trauma-friendly questions to ask the • • Tarot + a suggested Tarot spread for working through trauma (53:30) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/trauma-tarot ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. This episode is a Monthly Medicine episode, an intuitively channeled forecast for the month of June. The sacred mantra for this month is ALIGNED EXPANSION. June is a profoundly powerful month on the wheel of the year. It splits the year in half, takes us from Gemini to Cancer, moves us through the Summer Equinox, and offers us a mid way point. It is a big review month. What have we done with our year thus far? What have we learned? Most importantly, how have we personally shifted or changed since January 1st? Since March 1st? The transformations and upgrades that we have been moving through, personally and collectively, have been enormous — layers upon layers are flaking off. Why? To support us in a long term expansion, one on solid ground with deep roots. We are shifting our relationship to success, fame, money, and desires, evolving into a place of deeper alignment. Last month, we were encouraged to begin to “let the light in” — now, we get to do work on all of the places that the light is showing up in our lives, preparing us to expand in a way we never have before, completely aligned with our truth, and our soul path. In this episode, Lindsay shares and dives deep into: • The energy of June and building off of May (0:52) • June’s sacred mantra: Aligned Expansion (7:57) • An example of this aligned expansion from Lindsay’s own life (19:00) • The medicine of Litha, or the Summer Equinox — a day of total balance (34:41) • A Wild Soul Tarot collective reading for the month of June — the medicine of the month: Six of Wands (35:36) • What we’re leaving behind in May: The Fool, reversed (40:40) • What we’re moving into in June: Queen of Cups (43:13) • Gentle message from Divine: The Hermit, reversed (45:32) • Moving from The Lovers (Gemini) to The Chariot (Cancer) in the Tarot (47:07) • The medicine of the Full Moon in Sagittarius (May 29th), New Moon in Gemini (June 13th), the Summer Solstice, and Full Moon in Capricorn (June 27th) (51:34) To sign up for the June 1st THE SACRED WHEEL: https://www.lindsaymack.com/thesacredwheel Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-aligned-expansion ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. Jolene and Aidan talk about how social media and Instagram initially brought them together to start this podcast. They discuss how online platforms have played a role in changing how we think about drinking. It has become easy to quickly form online alcohol-free communities and the alcohol conversation is shifting because of podcasts, blogs, Instagram, and FaceBook groups. There is a sense of accessibility that is powerful and good. People can dabble and be "sober curious" at a distance. They can listen and participate at their own comfort level. The community of people becoming interested in this alcohol-free lifestyle is growing. But then there is a flip side to social media as well. Are we hiding behind our computer screens? Face-to-face interaction is an important ingredient as well. She Recovers provides a great in person conference once a year. But do we need more on-going in-person alcohol-free conversations in our local communities? There can be a powerful connection, story, and vulnerability within social media, but we also filter aspects of our lives on social media too. Jolene and Aidan end by sharing some of their favorite Instagram handles - TheSoberGlow, Tammi Salas, Cleo Wade, Wild Soul Healing, Tell Better Stories 2018, and The_Numinous who also hosts the in-person NYC Club Soda events. In the end, look at the balance between your in-person and online communities. Follow and unfollow in whatever way feels good to you. This episode is a Monthly Medicine episode, an intuitively channeled forecast for the month of April. The sacred mantra for this month is THE MIRROR. April is a month of clearing, of releasing, and of immense, bone-deep reflections. We are looking into our very core this month, opening our eyes to changes, to new opportunities, and to letting go of things that are not serving us. The “letting go” in April is massive, and is connected to the great medicine of Mercury Rx — April, and the sign of Aries (The Emperor), represent great expansion, birth, and new growth. What needs to die in order for us to bloom forward? There is some very significant weeding going on in our gardens in the early part of April. We might get no’s when we were hoping to hear yes. We might have to keep waiting. If that’s the case, it is the beginning of a great shift. Life is lifting us out of situations, commitments and paradigms that are not in alignment for us, that our ego might want, but our soul doesn’t. This is a powerful reset. Looking in The Mirror will help us to see new opportunities, to seize our freedom, to get clear on what we want and what we don’t want, and to see who we are becoming, what we are growing into. We get to ask ourselves whether we need to polish our mirror, or whether we keep wishing our mirror reflected something different to us — no matter what, it is a month ripe with opportunities to see, to focus, and to look deeply into ourselves and our lives, all so we can get clear on where we are being guided with deep medicine from the King of Swords, the Devil, the Empress RX, and the Five of Cups. In this episode, Lindsay shares and dives deep into: • Transition from March to April, from Pisces to Aries and how this month’s channeled mantra came through (3:03) • The sacred mantra for April is THE MIRROR. How to “look in the mirror” this month, honoring the reflections that are being presented to us during this cycle for our growth, awareness and knowledge. (5:43) • The medicine and gifts of the Mercury Retrograde in Aries (13:08) • April might be a month of active rejections that are actually gifts—letting go and allowing examination in the mirror (15:39) • A Wild Soul Tarot collective reading for the month ahead—the medicine of the month: King of Swords (32:34) • The medicine of the Full Moon in Libra on March 31st, the New Moon in Aries on April 15th, and the Full Moon in Scorpio on April 29th (33:21) • The medicine of the month: King of Swords (39:40) • What we’re moving through in April: The Devil (41:54) • What we are leaving behind in March: The Empress reversed (47:55) • Gentle message from Divine: Five of Cups (49:31) • The significance of moving from Aries (THE EMPEROR) to Taurus (THE HIEROPHANT) in the month of April (54:10) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-april-mirror To sign up for the April 1st THE SACRED WHEEL: https://www.lindsaymack.com/thesacredwheel ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. This episode is a Monthly Medicine episode, an intuitively channeled forecast for the month of March. The sacred mantra for this month is TRUST AND ALLOW. March is a month of deep changes, of birth and death, of going from seed to tree. In this month, we experience two Full Moons, one New Moon, a Mercury Rx in Aries, and the Equinox, our first Solstice of the year. We move from Pisces to Aries in March, essentially starting our new year through a deep, nature centered lens. We are moving through a contraction/expansion process, and a massive detoxification process, shedding old forms of ego, identity and people pleasing. We are becoming more of ourselves, continuing to do so in relative mystery. We are learning to Trust and Allow through listening to ourselves, examining our relationship to our intuition, to our body’s communication, and to our growth and willingness to evolve through what we are handed. We are letting go in a big way, opening ourselves to greater opportunities, and lovely surprises. In this episode, Lindsay shares and dives deep into: • The mantra of the month: Trust and Allow. How we can begin to Trust ourselves, our intuition, our decisions, and our bodies more than we ever thought possible, and how we can begin to Allow more fully, letting go of control and the need to know where we are going (0:59) • Astrology of the month: Full Moon in Virgo (20:36) • The significance of moving from Pisces (THE MOON) to Aries (THE EMPEROR) in the month of March (24:37) THE MEDICINE OF THE MONTH: The Moon (26:29) WHAT WE ARE LEAVING IN FEBRUARY: Four of Cups (32:56) WHAT WE WILL BE MOVING THROUGH IN MARCH: Ace of Wands (38:25) GENTLE MESSAGE FROM DIVINE: Queen of Cups, Rx • Astrology of the month: The New Moon in Pisces, Mercury Retrograde in Aries, and the Spring Equinox (43:04) • Aries and The Emperor of the Tarot as an ungendered sacred masculine + an invitation to take up space and be seen (47:39) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-march-trust-allow To sign up for the new THE SACRED WHEEL: https://www.lindsaymack.com/thesacredwheel ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. This episode is a Wild Soul Interview with Courtney Alexander, the creator of Dust II Onyx: A Melanated Tarot! The cards feature 78 mixed media collage paintings accented with metallic and holographic foils, featuring cultural myths, symbolism, history, and icons within the Black Diaspora. The guidebook features multiple keyword lists (numerological, elemental and astrological) and full color images of the artwork with titles and art descriptions. Each card has been carefully researched, with nearly 75 resources cited, providing a wealth of educational material. The entire deck, from the paintings to the research to the design was created and birthed by Courtney. In her Courtney’s own words, here is what this deck has meant to her: “Dust II Onyx...uses tarot divination to merge the multitude of intersections within black culture. I was inspired by my own spiritual journey deconstructing, decolonizing and disconnecting from my Christian heteropatriarchal foundations. As an African-American unable to trace my ancestry beyond a few decades, this work has helped me gather the shards of my identity that once felt scattered. I felt conflicted about jumping into other African spiritual traditions within the diaspora to find myself. I wanted to be conscious of my desire to appropriate traditions without forethought to how they connected to my own cosmology—considering the thousands of ethnic groups that exist within this expansive continent that is my soul's original home.” In this conversation, Courtney and I dive into: • Courtney’s search for Tarot decks that represented her as a person of color, and how that fueled her journey to creating her own: the Dust || Onyx: A Melanated Tarot (8:00) • The EPIC story of how Dust II Onyx Tarot came to be, and how Courtney went on a profound experience of soul death and rebirth on the way to making it (20:39) • Working on the Death Tarot card and working through fears surrounding death (31:12) • Some astrology talk + the placement of some of Courtney’s planets (44:21) • Creating a Kickstarter campaign for the Dust || Onyx Tarot deck + the creation & production process (46:55) • Where the name Dust II Onyx came from (1:04:57) • The second edition of Dust II Onyx + the sponsor a deck program (1:08:45) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/creating-representarepresentation-in-tarot-courtney-alexander-dust-onyx Follow Courtney at: https://dust2onyx.com/ To pre-order the 2nd edition of Dust II Onyx!: https://dust2onyx.com/products/preorder-dust-ii-onyx-2nd-edition-second-print To sponsor a deck: https://dust2onyx.com/collections/decks/products/sponsor-a-deck ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. In December, we crossed many bridges of the soul, leaving behind old patterns and cycles for more aligned landscapes. That work continues in January, in an even more rooted way. We are ready, collectively and individually, to upgrade. We are ready to ask for more, for better, for what we are truly worth. It will no longer work to make our choices from lack, fear, or desperation — we must trace our steps, look at any areas of our life where we are compromising, or believing that we cannot do better, and choose differently. Doing so will drastically alter the course of our year. It is a powerful step, a perfect one to bring us into 2018, year of the High Priestess. In this episode, Lindsay shares and dives deep into: • The sacred mantra of January is UPGRADE: How we can work with the theme of upgrading in our lives, both individually and collectively (8:48) THE MEDICINE OF THE MONTH: Eight of Cups (26:08) WHAT WE ARE LEAVING IN DECEMBER: Five of Pentacles (30:44) WHAT WE WILL BE MOVING THROUGH IN JANUARY: Strength (35:15) GENTLE MESSAGE FROM DIVINE: Justice (39:55) • How 2018 is a High Priestess/Justice year, and how we can connect with this for our deepest expansion (47:57) • The Full in Cancer & New Moon in Capricorn of January (57:28) • The significance of moving from Capricorn (THE DEVIL) to Aquarius (THE STAR) in the month of January (1:00:35) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/tarot-medicine-january-upgrade To sign up for THE SACRED WHEEL: https://www.lindsaymack.com/thesacredwheel ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. In moments of life that are unexplainable, unfathomable, how can we stay awake? How can we stay present through hurricanes and raging forest fires, or times in life when we might experience deep helplessness and overwhelm? When we stay awake during difficulty, we become a force for collective transformation, ensuring that history will not repeat itself, allowing ourselves to be available for service and support when it is needed. If we can stay soft in the midst of discomfort, present in the moment, committed to moving through whatever arises within us, we will remain awake in this life. In this episode, Lindsay dives deep into: • The importance of staying awake in moments when we feel helpless (5:31) • The medicine of The Hanged Man, how it prepares us for an egoic death, and shatters the spiritual illusion that enlightenment is a linear narrative (15:40) • The deep and beautiful work of The Sevens in the Tarot, how they all bring us from an external desire to an internal investigation (29:20) • Seven of Wands (31:37) • Seven of Cups (34:06) • Seven of Pentacles (39:10) • Seven of Swords (40:42) • The gifts of Reversals, how to understand them, and what they offer to us as readers when we receive them (45:33) • How to come home and be with ourselves in moments when we would prefer to just stay asleep -- and how these three aspects of The Tarot can help (57:47) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/hange-man-sevens-reversals-tarot ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons. In this episode of Tarot for the Wild Soul, we’re talking about how to weave the Tarot into relaxing and softening into the medicine of Mercury Retrograde as we see more need to step into sacred activism. Personal responsibility is really important now, in these times—more than ever—to not respond from pain and fear, but from a desire to show up in our values, to take actions for a sense of peace and equanimity. What we say matters. What we do now matters. We need to dive really deeply, step forward, and speak when it is in alignment. We’re also talking about the medicine the Swords of the Tarot offer. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that we begin to look at the swords—not as problems, but as opportunities. Any fear that we look deeply in the eyes at becomes a deep ally to us. This episode is another solo episode with Lindsay, where she talks all about: • Honoring Charlottesville, and how to begin to step more deeply into sacred service for the planet and in activism (3:37) • Mercury Retrograde and the Magician Rx in Virgo (the Hermit) in the Tarot (10:49) • How the Swords suit is a crucial and beautiful tool for evolution of our brain chemistry (39:18) • What is a good starter Tarot deck? (53:22) • The unexpected ways Tarot card reversals manifest and what to do when you don’t want to believe your cards or if you don’t like your Tarot card pull (56:26) Find full show notes for this episode: https://wildsoulpodcast.com/blog/mercury-retrograde-tarot-swords-spiritual-activism Links to donate to support Charlottesville: Fundraiser for Dre Harris: https://www.gofundme.com/i-was-beaten-by-white-supremacists NAACP (Charlottesville Chapter): http://www.albemarle-cvillenaacp.org/ Black Lives Matter Charlottesville Chapter: https://www.paypal.me/blmcville/ ABOUT THE PODCAST Hosted by intuitive tarot reader, holistic counselor and teacher, Lindsay Mack, Tarot for the Wild Soul is a weaving of deep conversations with folks who use Tarot in their lives, channeled energetic offerings, intuitive readings on the months ahead, and mini Tarot lessons.
