This week I managed to grab 3 members of the fast up and coming and Wildpath's favorites Home Counties - back stage at the UEA after their set opening for the sold out Franz Ferdinand gig. Home Counites are known for their satirical lyrics, angular guitars, synths, mixed vocals and for having a damn good time. A terrific watch live and with a couple of belting albums in the can - it was ace being able to get a few mins to talk about their origins - life on the road with a band like Franz and what's next . I hope you enjoy it - back soon with more :) Don't forget to check out the ever evolving Spotify playlist of Norwich bands material compiled by pod producer Reuben Andrews called La musique de Norwich.chin chin

In recent conversations, General Dan Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, raised alarm bells in the Oval Office, warning President Trump about the United States' military readiness for a potential conflict with Iran. His focus was clear: the critical shortages of munitions and the lack of international backing are putting U.S. personnel at risk and could hinder operational success.Let's unpack that a bit. The U.S. military's stockpile has faced severe depletion lately, not from lack of effort, but due to ongoing commitments. Right now, we're heavily invested in defending Israel and providing support to Ukraine in their ongoing conflict, which has stretched our resources thin. Just to give you a picture, while U.S. supplies are dwindling, Ukrainian forces are expending an alarming 6,000 to 8,000 artillery shells daily. That's a consumption rate that far outpaces what the U.S. can currently produce.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/conspiracy-theories-exploring-the-unseen--5194379/support.

A-Side Breaks Vol. 3 marks another chapter in a series I'll be dropping on a regular basis — a steady stream of break-heavy selections designed for dancers who live in that space where rhythm meets instinct. This volume leans into the raw, percussive energy that powers the breakin' world: those stripped-down drum sections and groove pockets that DJs stretch out to keep the floor alive. These are the moments breakers train to, build on, and lose themselves in — the fuel behind the footwork, the shapes, the creativity, the flow. For Vol. 3, I went crate-deep again, pulling out joints that shaped different generations of movement culture. It's a nod to the roots, a salute to the dancers, and a reminder that the spirit of the break is still beating strong. And since this series is dropping continuously, expect more heat soon — more rhythms, more textures, more reasons to hit the floor. Back to the raw. Back to the groove. Back to the break.

On 30 January 1649, the unthinkable happened: for the first time in history, a reigning monarch was tried and condemned by his own people. But how did a kingdom that once believed in the divine right of kings arrive at this unprecedented moment? In this second special explainer episode, Professor Suzannah Lipscomb guides us through the final and most dramatic years of the English Civil Wars. With contributions from leading historians drawn from the Not Just the Tudors archive, Suzannah traces the pivotal events that shattered the monarchy and gave rise to the emergence of parliamentary government.MORE:Prelude to the English Civil Warhttps://open.spotify.com/episode/0er6EmZ1cfwxTLAMwO2aO1Oliver Cromwell: Massacres and Manoeuvreshttps://open.spotify.com/episode/4n7d4Rm9YXzStJBSL2TVpsPresented by Professor Suzannah Lipscomb. Despite this being the week that Kemi Badenoch finally showed some steel in PMQs, it's Robert Jenrick who has been stealing the headlines. That's for lots of reasons – mainly his comments about a potential Tory Reform pact, which he clarified on Good Morning Britain this morning, saying: ‘Kemi Badenoch and I are on exactly the same page. Kemi has been very clear there won't be a pact with Reform, and I've said time and again that I want to put Reform out of business. I want to send Nigel Farage back to retirement.' This follows leaked footage which surfaced this week from a student event in late March, where he appeared to suggest that he would back a pact to join forces with Farage. Elsewhere, he had a big win when Yvette Cooper announced that the government will publish migrant crime league tables – a policy he has pushed for. Is he the prince across the water? Or do we need to give Kemi a break? Oscar Edmondson speaks to James Heale and Henry Hill, deputy editor at Conservative Home. Produced by Oscar Edmondson.

Former DA leader Tony Leon has emerged mightily relieved to get his life back after two weeks spent in the political cauldron he left behind more than a decade ago. He tells Peter Bruce in this edition of Podcasts from the Edge that DA ministers in President Cyril Ramaphosa's are not going to be hogtied and will be able to make their presence felt. Though dominant, the ANC nevertheless has "negative power" in the GNU in that while it can stop policy initiatives it doesn't agree with, it can't stop alternatives surfacing.

After North Korean balloons delivered trash to South Korea, we explore balloons of all kinds, why they can be useful, and when they're not.Scientists have been using balloons for a long time, from pig bladders dropped from great heights, to Michael Faraday inventing the rubber balloon. Floating through the air seems like a great, energy-efficient way to fly. So why isn't the sky full of airships? And party balloons are fun… but do we want to waste our precious helium on parties? What is this limited gas worth saving for? Also, why you're likely smarter than your grandparents were at your age, why snails climb up walls, and scientists looking at clouds from space. This week I'm reading from Robert Powell's book 'UFOs: A Scientist Explains What We Know (And Don't Know)'.Robert Powell, a founding Board member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies, has studied the UFO subject for 17 years. His work is encapsulated in UFOs: A Scientist Explains What We Know (And Don't Know) which provides a scientific rationale for the reality of non-terrestrial craft that are intelligently controlled.Powell begins his book by familiarizing the reader with the history of UFOs and he identifies the more enigmatic and interesting UFO sightings. He examines the characteristics of these sightings that argue against a prosaic explanation: extreme acceleration, electromagnetic interference, bending light, no obvious propulsion mechanisms, and a lack of interaction with the atmosphere. Powell discusses the recent events that have caused our government to change the term from UFO to UAP. Included is information never before released indicating the government possesses not just two videos but five videos from 2015 of UFOs operating in the vicinity of the USS Roosevelt nuclear aircraft carrier.Powell's later chapters in the book discuss the extraterrestrial hypothesis considering the thousands of exoplanets that have been discovered in the last twenty years. Powell challenges the reader to consider all the implications that must be considered if intelligent life discovers us first. He looks at how we as individuals and as a society react to UFOs. He documents actions taken by our military that include instances when we have fired on UFOs.Powell argues that it is time for a change in the study of UFOs. The phenomenon has been with us for 75 years and we have learned very little as the decades have passed. The author makes the case for what needs to be done going forward. The solution he proposes will require a paradigm shift in our thinking and his book provides the information needed to understand that paradigm shift.BioRobert Powell was born in La Rochelle, France in 1953 and moved to the U.S. when he was 3 years old. He has a BS in Chemistry and is a former collegiate debater. He has 28 years experience in engineering management in the semiconductor industry. He helped Advanced Micro Devices develop its first flash memory technology that is used in today's flash cards for cameras, PCs, video cameras, and other products. His experience includes managing a state-of-the-art chemistry laboratory and managing a Research and Development group that worked on nanotechnology using atomic force microscopes, near-field optical microscopy, and other techniques. Robert is also a co-holder of four patents related to nanotechnology.Robert Powell was the Director of Research at the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) from 2007-2017 and also founded MUFON's Science Review Board. Currently he is on the Board of the Scientific Coalition for the study of UAPs. He is also a member of the Society for Scientific Exploration, the UFODATA project, and the National Space Society. He enjoys researching, writing and making presentations related to the UFO phenomenon.
