Nelson G from Average Home Theater Reviews and I are joining forces to discuss our favorite episodes from each season and both movies. In our premiere episode, we'll discuss all 6 episodes from Season 1. "The Man Who Was Death" - Niles Talbot (William Sadler), a prison executioner, is laid off from his job when the local legislature abolishes the death penalty. From there, he becomes a vigilante, administering his own style of justice to acquitted murder suspects. "And All Through the House" - Elizabeth (Mary Ellen Trainor), a greedy, philandering housewife, kills her second husband (Marshall Bell) for his insurance money. Upon getting rid of the body, she is unexpectedly attacked by an escaped mental patient (Larry Drake) dressed as Santa Claus who has been going around killing women. She soon fears that her young daughter may be the psychotic Santa's next victim. "Dig That Cat… He's Real Gone" - A carnival daredevil known as Ulric the Undying (Joe Pantoliano) is buried alive for his grand finale. Through a series of flashbacks, he tells the viewers how he was formerly a homeless vagrant who had undergone a doctor's experiment in order to transfer a cat's gland into his brain, giving him its nine lives and the ability to temporarily resurrect a number of times. However, during his final stunt, he suddenly remembers that he may have miscounted just how many lives he has left. Also starring Robert Wuhl. "Only Sin Deep" - Sylvia Vane (Lea Thompson), a young, narcissistic prostitute, "sells" her beauty to a voodoo-dabbling pawnbroker (Britt Leach) so that she can use the money to snag a rich bachelor, Ronnie Price (Brett Cullen), but she soon regrets it when her face begins to unexpectedly age at an accelerated rate. "Lover Come Hack to Me" - Peggy and Charles (Amanda Plummer and Stephen Shellen) are a newlywed couple who, after a car accident, end up settling for the night inside a decrepit mansion belonging to Peggy's aunt. While inside, Charles plans to kill Peggy for her inheritance, but he soon learns that Peggy's family has a dark past, and that Peggy herself is not who she seems to be. "Collection Completed" - An uptight elderly man named Jonas (M. Emmet Walsh) is forced into retirement, and soon discovers his wife Anita's (Audra Lindley) obsession with adopting animals into their home, leading him to use the animals for a hobby of his own. It's usually hyperbole to say that someone does it all, but in the case of Larry Fessenden, it just so happens to be true. An award-winning actor, producer, writer, director and editor - Fessenden is a genre filmmaker with a real skill in delivering works that entertain but also have a fair amount of nuance and sophistication. Fessenden's latest film is Blackout, a werewolf horror with a top-notch cast that includes Alex Hurt, Addison Timlin, Marshall Bell and Barbara Crampton amongst its number. The film is not only a fantastic old-school horror pic, but it also features plenty of added social commentary - and this makes it a cut above other modestly budgeted genre films. Larry Fessenden joined the Movies In Focus podcast to talk about the Blackout, the inspirations behind the film and his love of werewolf movies.

A story about a house a geek, a hobo, a house, and a whole lot of psychosis. Listen in as me and my guest, Pete, talk through this strange mind trip of a film. Directed by two-time helmer Chris Walas (The Fly II & The Vagrant) and written by Richard Jefferies (14 Going on 30, Cold Creek Manor, Bloodtide), The Video Vacuum called it a "painfully unfunny black comedy," and Entertainment Weekly said it was a "moronic, ineptly directed bummer." Ouch. Look, it's not a good movie, but that's what you're here for, right? It is profoundly strange and uneven, and that makes for a fun watch - especially under the influence of your preferred substance. It tells the story of milquetoast businessman Graham Krakowski (played by the awesome Bill Paxton) as he buys a house that unbeknownst to him was a frequent haunt of a scarred and oozy vagrant (played sleazily by Marshall Bell). As Graham tries to rid himself of the vagrant he finds himself mixed up in a string of murders, excessive house makeovers, and eventually on the run from the police. Ever see Bill Paxton with a mullet? You will. The film is currently available on Amazon Prime and Blu-ray.

Baltimore's "Eye in the Sky" Program: What's Next?

Last May, an Ohio-based company called Persistent Surveillance Systems was granted permission to conduct a six-month trial program in Baltimore -- paid for by a foundation in Texas -- to determine if an Aerial Investigation Research (AIR) program was an effective way to help local police and prosecutors in their efforts to solve crimes. The trial period ended on October 31st. Final data from the trial program has not yet been released, but since it was first revealed in 2016 that planes were flying over the skies of Baltimore and recording the goings-on below during a previously unpublicized surveillance trial, the "eye in the sky" program has been controversial. Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison was initially a skeptic about the efficacy of the AIR program, but after consulting with community members he agreed to the trial run... Last week, a federal appeals court ruled that the planes do not violate privacy rights. But activists and opponents worry that the program can easily be abused, and Mayor Elect Brandon Scott has expressed little confidence in the program. With the 6-month trial period and unsuccessful court challenges behind it, the AIR program has reached an inflection point, as new data on its effectiveness as a policing tool becomes available, and as new city leadership prepares to take office with serious reservations about the aerial surveillance plan. On today's Midday, a range of perspectives on the AIR program. Tom talks first with Marshall Bell, director of the Community Support Program for Perpetual Surveillance Systems, the AIR program contractor. Next, Tom is joined by Rev. Duane Simmons, the long-time pastor of the Simmons Memorial Baptist Church in West Baltimore. Pastor Simmons is also the founder of a community and business coalition called Community With Solutions, whose 70+ members recently called on city leaders to proceed with the surveillance program. Then, Tom welcomes Lawrence Grandpre to the Midday conversation. He’s the director of research for Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle, a Baltimore community-action group that opposes the roll-out of the AIR program, and last April filed suit in federal court to stop it. The LBS suit, which was unsuccessful, was joined by the ACLU of Maryland, whose senior staff attorney, David Rocah, joins us on Zoom as Tom’s final guest.

In this podcast:Sandtown-Winchester is the West Baltimore neighborhood where the late Freddie Gray was arrested last April, and it’s where he grew up. It's within District 7 of the Baltimore City Council, and that’s the focus of today’s show. The 7th District is central-west Baltimore City -- Sandtown, Hampden, Reservoir Hill, Matthew Henson, Walbrook, Druid Heights, Ashburton. Today, we offer interviews with six of the Democratic candidates campaigning to replace Nick Mosby, who decided to run for mayor this year instead of re-election to his council seat. 1:54: David McMillan is an official in emergency management for the city of Baltimore; he comes with an interesting family history and a desire to make the municipal government work better.21:31: Kerry Davidson is a Harvard-educated lawyer who turned a Penn North crack house into his home; he thinks the 7th District, like the city generally, is full of potential that’s being missed.44:55: Marshall Bell is a policy analyst for the City Council whose brother, Lawrence Bell, was once the council president. Marshall Bell has a criminal record from years ago and a powerful personal story that informs his candidacy.1:00:37: Shawn Tarrant is a former state delegate who served the west side in Annapolis and who says the 7th district's most pressing issues are jobs, quality affordable housing, crime and blight.1:18:46: Antonio Asa has an interesting idea about what the city could do with the hundreds of vacant houses on the sprawling west side.1:30:23: Ahmed Royalty says that, if he's elected, he will use his $66,000 annual council salary to fund programs that he thinks will improve city life.Next episode: On Monday -- one more candidate interview to offer: Richard Douglas, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Tuesday’s primary election.

In this episode Wayne and Tim interview actor Robert Rusler. Robert is well known for his roles in A Nightmare on Elm St. part 2, Weird Science, Vamp, and Thrashin'. We get to get a little inside info on his life as a teen actor, working with some of the biggest names in the biz, and how he managed to overcome the pitfalls of a young actor lifestyle. We also talk about the upcoming and completed films he is writing and producing including Black Asylum. Robert Rusler - actor, athlete, writer, and natural performer - was born on September 20, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He soon moved to Hawaii, where he lived on Waikiki Beach and started surfing and skateboarding on a semi-professional level. At a young age his family moved to Los Angeles, where he began his martial arts career and entered many competitions. Then the bug struck to become an actor and Robert, right out of high school, met his manager and began taking acting classes at the Loft Studio with Peggy Feury and William Traylor. Soon thereafter he landed his first starring role, opposite Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Downey Jr. in John Hughes Weird Science (1985). He then starred opposite Marshall Bell and Robert Englund in A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985) . Later projects included Thrashin' (1986) opposite Josh Brolin (and all of his top professional skateboarding idols) and _Vamp (1986/I)_ opposite Grace Jones and Chris Makepeace, for which he received the award for Best Actor in a Science Fiction or Horror Film.
