Our daily choices can have a huge influence on the way we experience and redefine midlife. Today's guest, Megan Martin, is a university qualified nutritionist who is passionate about supporting women during the menopausal transition by reframing self care so that they can future proof their health and approach a non-diet approach to their health and wellness. She is a wealth of knowledge and understands the importance of supporting our bodies more mindfully during these transition years. Listen as Megan and I expand on our thoughts and talk about: The difference between dietitians and nutritionists, keeping it simple and how nutrition also includes lifestyle choices and a wholesome well rounded approach. The physiological impact of diet culture and social influences within our past, such as counting calories, fad diets and the bombardment of food messages we were exposed to. Food choices in regard to specific nutrients, perimenopause and menopause. Looking at the Mediterranean diet for this stage of life and how that can minimise inflammatory issues and decrease other risks such as osteopenia. How the body absorbs certain nutrients such as calcium, iron and vitamin D and importance of estrogen levels in midlife. Megan's passion and enthusiasm for nutrition shines throughout this conversation and I hope it gets you thinking about differences you can make through putting things in place and becoming an advocate for your own health and well-being. Just three short years after furnishing home number one, the Central Oregon non-profit, Furnish Hope, recently furnished home #1000.  Furnish Hope, whose mission is to Furnish empty houses for those in need, was established in 2019 by long time Central Oregon resident Megan Martin.  On episode 31 of The Circling Podcast, Megan shares the vision of Furnish Hope, a vision where marginalized families in our community have a place to call home by transforming empty houses into warm, welcoming homes for those in need of furniture and household essentials.  Recently Furnish Hope opened a new retail boutique in the Old Iron Works Art District in Bend. Through the resale of community donated upscale home furnishings and décor, this brick-and-mortar storefront aides in supporting the mission and is proving to be a unique way for Furnish Hope recipients to choose the finishing touches for their homes. Thanks Megan. Thank you for taking the time to share your story and the story of Furnish Hope. To say the work that you and your team are doing is changing lives, well, that would be an understatement. www.furnishhope.com Support The Circling Podcast:Email us at: thecirclingpodcast@gmail.comJoin the Circling membership: patreon.com/Thecirclingpodcast Visual Show Notes: https://nota.fm/thecirclingFollow us on Instagram @thecirclingpodcastCover Art: petealport.com Remember, the health of our community, relies on us!

Ready to create and launch a profitable passive income digital product? Tune in to find out more!    Episode Introduction:  Our guest today built a six-figure business solely through passive income digital products and then went on to teach her followers how to do the same. Megan Martin is a passive income educator who helps business owners set up their digital products from scratch along with teaching them innovative marketing strategies to help them sell them.   Episode Summary:  Megan Martin walks us through her journey of trying to DIY her own website to being a booked-out web designer within a few months and how that led her to create a business where she enables entrepreneurs to achieve financial freedom and mobility by building a sustainable income through passive income from digital products. You're going to want to make a note of all the gems she's dropping in today's episode.   Main Takeaways: Before you rebrand your business, ensure that you want to stick to that messaging long-term. There is no one way to sell your digital products. You just have to try different strategies before you can find one that works for your business. Email marketing yields great results for a digital product-based business if you do it the right way. Long-term marketing strategies will help you gain traffic years after they've been executed as opposed to short-term marketing strategies that work on getting instant results.   Fun Facts About Megan Martin: One book that she would recommend to our listeners is Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely.   Resources:  Laura Foote's Podcast Interview: https://www.gbplaw.com/season-one/53   Find Megan Martin: Website: https://jeremyandmegan.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyandmegan/ Podcast: https://talkingsmallbusinesspodcast.com/ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/jeremyandmegan Get the visual experience, watch the videocast for the episode here: https://youtu.be/M2_36paCWl0   Connect With Girija: Website: https://www.gbplaw.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/gbplaw/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GBPLaw/   Help us mentor other entrepreneurs through the power of storytelling by rating us and leaving a positive review on Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/law-chat-with-girija/id1528580730   Get the FREE Five Day Legal Audit: https://yourcontractbuddy.com/5-day-free-legal-audit-challenge/   Join Law Chat for Entrepreneurs Free Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lawchat   Get Ready To Use Contract Templates At: https://yourcontractbuddy.com/

Dr. Megan Martin is focused on providing a safe space for Women to find answers and solutions to their sexual health and wellness questions. Nothing is too taboo or embarrassing to ask. She believes in shame-free education about our bodies throughout the different stages of our lives. Penetrative heterosexual sex is normally associated with virginity, but that's not the only kind of sex there is. Most of us were taught about Virginity in some sort of religious context (growing up Catholic, I heard it a lot and even prayed to the Virgin Mother). Then marketing from Disney's Jones Brothers and others sold society this idea of purity culture (complete with special rings) that made people even more fixated on the concept of virginity. The virginity myth perpetuates a sexist story where women are damned if they do and damned if they don't. What if we're wrong to recognize virginity in the first place? And how do we stop buying into the notion of virginity?

Certain people exist in our little world, people who push the buttons and massage the infrastructure and leave fingerprints in every nook. These revolutionaries will never receive recognition from the wider climbing galaxy, let alone the average climber clipping bolts at the local crag. They are the people behind the scenes; providing jobs, building the gyms in which we train, constructing the ballast upon which the sport relies. So, let's talk about Kynan Waggoner. In one of my favorite climbing conversations, podcast or otherwise, Kynan takes us through his history in the sport, dropping our jaws as we begin to understand the reach of the branches he has extended into climbing history. Kynan hung his first shingle in '98, opening X-Treme, a "version 1.0" gym in Florida (out of which sprung such crushers as Matt Segal, Megan Martin, and former guest Cesar Valencia). Who should walk through the doors shortly after opening but a representative from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Fresh off opening a gym he didn't know how to open, Kynan launched a company building climbing walls for cruise lines that he didn't yet know how to build. He eventually made his way to Boulder, yearning for proximity to outdoor climbing. He became a Level 5 routesetter, imagining routes for 10 World Cups. He slid into a USA Climbing coaching position. Eventually, 15 years of industry experience percolating, he took over as CEO of USA Climbing. After righting the ship, he left the organization to take over as COO of Movement Climbing and Fitness. Finally, eager to get back on the front lines, Kynan departed Movement to open his own climbing gym, Gripstone Climbing & Fitness in Colorado Springs. Kynan has built an unparalleled resume in climbing. In this freewheeling and wide-ranging conversation, we touch upon Tony Yaniro's mentorship as a setter, opening an early gym in an aviation hanger in Florida, and the behind the scenes machinations of USA Climbing, from the deal with ESPN to the sport's eventual entrance into the Olympic Games. Sit back and enjoy, my friends. And especially you climbing nerds...this one is for you (us)! Have a question, feedback, suggestion, or pitch? @iambillieleigh was born Megan Martin on August 18,1993 in North Wilkesboro, NC. She was raised in Clingman, NC and is the youngest of two children.  Music was introduced to her at a very early age through church and tv.  Singing was always something that she loved to do and as she got older she began to write also. Around the time she was entering high school is when she began writing and it was an awkward time in her life. She had trouble expressing herself and it seemed like writing was one of the only ways she could. Throughout high school she was in an audition choir called Madrigals all 4 years until graduation. She went to community college for a year or so, but says it wasn’t for her. Music was always something that she wanted to devote her time to, so she left college to get a job so she could afford studio time. She soon found out that she was expecting a little boy, who would be born in July 2014, with some lifelong health issues. After finally giving birth to her son and getting him squared away, landing a better job, and getting a good support system, she was finally able to locate a great studio in March 2017 and would go on to record her first single called "It Hurts to Be a Girl.“ From there she completed her 7 song EP called “As I Am,”  which is on iTunes and Google Play. The EP officially released back in September....    She says: "When I feel like giving up, sometimes I will play one of my songs in my car and my son literally knows my songs by heart and that in itself tells me I have to keep going, This has been a lifelong dream and now that I have a small child I have to chase my dreams, so that one day he can chase his."
