He honed his skills and quickly became known for his unique style and innovative approach to choreography.   His breakthrough moment came when he joined forces with Lady Gaga. Richy played a pivotal role in shaping the elaborate, boundary-pushing visuals synonymous with the art. Their collaboration resulted in some of the “Born This Way” performer's iconic pop culture moments, including the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show, the 2019 A Star is Born film, and both the Monster Ball and Born This Way Ball tours.  His choreography appeared in Lady Gaga's “Stupid Love” and Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's “Rain on Me” music videos. On this week's Talkhouse Podcast, we've got a pair of multi-hyphenates who have recently joined music-world forces: Justin Tranter and Jake Wesley Rogers. Tranter first found music-biz fame with the band Semi-Precious Weapons, which had a decade-long run starting in 2004, and whose biggest claim to fame—besides their music itself—was opening for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour. But Tranter pivoted after Semi-Precious Weapons split up, and started writing songs for and with other artists—but not just any artists. Tranter has written for and/or with Justin Bieber, Imagine Dragons, Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, and many, many more—chances are good you've heard a Justin Tranter composition on the radio, even if you didn't know it. Tranter has also written a bunch of songs for the upcoming Grease prequel series, Rise of the Pink Ladies, and seven songs on the brand-new album by the massive Italian band Måneskin. Tranter has also been an incredible activist in the LGBTQ+ community and beyond, and their next move is becoming, as you'll hear in this chat, a mogul.  That's where the other half of today's Talkhouse Podcast comes into the picture: Jake Wesley Rogers recently signed on with Tranter's new record label, Facet, and the two have plans to conquer the world together—I wouldn't bet against them. Rogers is from a younger generation, having grown up with the instant gratification of social media. He even appeared on America's Got Talent at 15, and started writing songs even earlier than that. But Rogers really finds his voice with a couple of recent EPs, Pluto and Love. Tranter and Rogers also recently co-wrote a song called “Hindsight,” which plays over the end credits of Bros, the first gay rom-com ever released by a major studio—they talk about that here a bit as well. Check out that song below. In this conversation, Tranter and Rogers talk about their daily processes, including The Artists' Way, they talk about great pop songs, great middle school teachers, destroying the patriarchy, and the dangers and joys of social media. Enjoy. Thanks for listening to the Talkhouse Podcast, and thanks to Justin Tranter and Jake Wesley Rogers for chatting. If you like what you heard, please check out all the goodness on Talkhouse.com and subscribe to our weekly e-mail newsletter. Interview with Frederic Aspiras Master wigmaker and hair stylist FREDERIC ASPIRAS has earned his reputation as one of the leading artists in the industry. The son of a hairdresser, Frederic grew up in salons and began learning the trade by age thirteen. In 2004, Frederic moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a hairstylist. There, industry professionals quickly realized his unique, fashion forward looks were created to inspire. Five years after his move, Frederic was introduced to Lady Gaga. She was immediately fascinated by Frederic's unparalleled ability to transform hair into glamorous works of art. Soon after, Gaga knew she couldn't go on her Monster Ball tour without Frederic. Creating an equally unique and impressive look for every performance, Frederic instantly became Gaga's go-to for all things hair. Frederic has worked exclusively with Gaga since November 2009, creating some of today's most memorable hair looks. Conceptualizing a wig made with a mix of human hair and fiber optics to make the hair illuminate with color is just one example of Frederic's expert abilities. Frederic's work has been featured in several major publications such as Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Allure, L'uomo Vogue, Billboard and Parade. https://www.instagram.com/fredericaspiras/?hl=en (https://www.instagram.com/fredericaspiras/?hl=en) https://twitter.com/HairByFrederic (https://twitter.com/HairByFrederic)  https://www.tiktok.com/@FredericAspiras (https://www.tiktok.com/@FredericAspiras) https://www.youtube.com/user/faspiras (https://www.youtube.com/user/faspiras) News from TheTease.com https://www.thetease.com/all-of-our-favorite-hairstyles-from-the-2022-sag-awards/ https://www.thetease.com/olivia-gardens-og-brush-collection-just-got-a-sustainable-facelift-and-they-look-so-cute/ https://www.thetease.com/green-circle-salons-announces-the-first-industry-wide-carbon-neutral-salon-certification/ Find More from TheTease: Instagram: @https://www.instagram.com/readthetease/ (readthetease) Instagram: @https://www.instagram.com/kellyehlers/ (KellyEhlers) Instagram: @https://www.instagram.com/eljeffreycraig/ (eljeffreycraig) Web: http://www.thetease.com/ (TheTease.com) Email: VolumeUp@TheTease.com Credits: Volume Up is a Tease Media production. Yr girls are fresh from the cliffs and ready to slay some fey. This week, Morgan and Isabeau are back at the Ball with another selection from The Monster Ball Year 2; Assassin’s Match by Everly Frost. Our heroine Tanzanina (yikes) is a born-witch whose power and love have been stripped from her by an evil curse. But when her only hope of lifting the curse, a special spellbook, is stolen, our heroine must put herself in danger for a night of thrills and passion at the Monster Ball. Are magic-at birth-narratives ultimately trojan horses for eugenics? Is Paradise Lost just Bible fan fiction? How do we cope when our love is not reciprocated? All that, plus musings on birth order, gargoyles, and the perfect hot buttered rum. Happy spooky season y’all. This week, Morgan and Isabeau crash a party with a selection from The Monster Ball Year 2, an anthology of works imagining that self same soiree, titled “Turning The Tides” by Wendy Higgins. In this telling, a malevolent beast known as the Magpie is throwing the Ball, and this once who’s who of the otherworldly has taken a sinister turn. Our heroine is Ada, a selkie (for brevity: shapeshifting seal people of yore), who in order to return to the sea, must retrieve her pelt from among the patchwork monstrosity adorning the Magpie. But with a little help from a dryad and a conniving necromancer, Ada just might get her wish. What makes for a memorable party? Is good sex just attentive sex? How young is too young for necromancy? Dust off your best frocks y’all - it’s game time. Whoa!mance is a part of the Frolic Podcast Network.

RuPaul's throwing a monster mash this week for this season's ball challenge. Most of these queens tend to serve more beauty than beast—and we're not sure how half of them are trick-or-treating in those outfits—so it's a runway big on ooky, but not quite spooky (besides Scarlet, who is somehow just safe this week). Ariel, like most mermaids, isn't great on her feet, but was swimming away with that lip sync until that flip of the fin, and Brooke Lynn is, believe it or not, the only mummy on pointe in RuPaul's Drag Race history. In this week's episode, we break down the literal thousands of Monster Ball runway looks, wonder if anyone is getting a villain edit, and pitch ideas for next week's episode. League Standings: Charles (Nina, Vanjie, Honey)- 95 Daniel (Silky, Yvie, Shuga)- 106 Rebecca (Brooke Lynn, Ra'Jah, Scarlett)- 115 Robert (Ariel, A'Keria, Plastique)- 79 League Rules: Each player chooses three queens for their team for the entirety of the season. These queens are awarded points for winning a maxi challenge (10 points), winning a mini-challenge (3 points), surviving a lip-sync (5 points), and just appearing on the episode ("The Naomi Smalls Rule" 1 point). If a player has less than three queens on their team after an elimination, they can purchase an unclaimed queen for 10 points. In addition, each player completes a weekly draft card in which they guess the maxi challenge winner (10 points), the two lipsyncing queens (5 points each) and the eliminated queen (10 points), as well as a weekly bonus question (3 points). Total your points each week to play along or just listen to us forget the rules!

Katie, Stevie and Bethany discuss a Coldplay rebrand, Shawn Mendes’ unnecessary sexuality clarification and Bruce Springsteen on Broadway. We also grill Robin Hood star Taron Egerton over his action hero credentials (he doesn’t reckon he has any), Rachel Weisz on why she’s sick of being asked THAT question and Channing Tatum on his love for Amanda Bynes. Plus we go back in time to when Lady Gaga maxed out her budget on the Monster Ball.

We’re kicking this episode of Snacky Tunes off with a bong (that’s not a typo)! Greg Bresnitz is joined in the studio by Phillip Gilmour of Momo Sushi Shack. Phil funnels a beer and talks about his work at New York City restaurants like Diner and Roberta’s. Oddly enough, Phil didn’t have much chef experience before starting Momo, but his restaurant has flourished and is celebrating its two-year anniversary! Hear about how the restaurant’s menu ranges from vegan omakase to a Japanese take on haggis. Also in the studio are Breedlove and Dres (Evitan and former Black Sheep). Tune in to hear Dres and Breedlove talk about their collaboration with Chew Fu. Breedlove talks about the origin of his name, as well as his time at Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball. Dres is chatting about his new project with Jarobi from A Tribe Called Quest called Evitan. Check out some of their upcoming tracks live on Snacky Tunes! Today’s episode has been brought to you by S. Wallace Edwards & Sons. “The kitchen, the waiters… Everyone is loyal to me, it’s like a family at Momo. I don’t really know where to go from here.” — Phillip Gilmour on Snacky Tunes
