[7:41] The five SEAL secrets: NAKED [27:58] Just doing it and taking action [34:08] On CBD [46:59] Where to find William [50:44] Outro Who is William? A former US Navy SEAL with 26 years of service, William Branum is the founder of NW Recovery. At an early age, William knew he wanted to be part of a team that would push him beyond whatever limits he thought he had and still enjoy the outdoors and all it had to offer. He charged forward and became an Eagle Scout and joined the Navy immediately after graduating High School. After graduating from SEAL Training (BUD/S Class 208), he was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA, then San Diego, CA, and finally Oahu, HI, where he served on multiple SEAL Teams, taught SEAL Sniper School, and deployed around the globe. As with too many veterans, William suffered from numerous physical injuries and psychological symptoms that negatively impacted his well-being and quality of life. Migraines, severe anxiety, chronic pains, difficulty focusing, difficulty sleeping/falling asleep, and depression are some of the symptoms he struggles with on a daily basis. He tried many prescription medications to help and eventually started to “self-medicate” with alcohol to help with pain and sleep issues. During his last few years of military service, William started hearing more about the promising benefits of cannabinoids like CBD. Ultimately, he chose to wait until his retirement from the military before exploring this new world of plant-based benefits to help aid in his physical and psychological recovery. Determined to maintain his Top Secret Security clearance after the military, he sought THC-free options of CBD. Since his discovery of CBD, William has reduced anxiety, improved sleep, less joint pain, and an overall improved quality of life. Today William is focused on sharing the recovery benefits he has experienced through premium quality (THC Free) CBD in hopes that other Veterans and First Responders can also experience their own recovery. It's Thursday and that means it's time for the REALEST TALK on the internet, REAL TALK with Jimmy Moore! Join Jimmy today as he welcomes William Branum to talk about his Navy SEAL experience and how he uses that now to handle change. “Focus on one area of your life to improve and then master it!” - William Branum In this episode, Jimmy has the pleasure of speaking with a former Navy SEAL and CBD business owner named William Branum (@nakedwarriorrecovery). In his intense training as a SEAL, William learned some invaluable lessons in life about how to best deal with stress and change in real time. For him, adding in quality CBD products has helped calm his mind from the anxiety of day-to-day living and implementing his NAKED mantra (an acronym for his philosophy on every aspect of your life) is helping veterans, first responders, and virtually anyone to recover from pain, stress, anxiety, and sleep issues. What a great conversation with a true American hero. A former US Navy SEAL with 26 years of service, William Branum is the founder of NW Recovery. At an early age William knew he wanted to be part of a team that would push him beyond whatever limits he thought he had and still enjoy the outdoors and all it had to offer. He charged forward and became an Eagle Scout and joined the Navy immediately after graduating High School. After graduating from SEAL Training (BUD/S Class 208) he was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA then San Diego, CA, and finally Oahu, HI where he served on multiple SEAL Teams, taught SEAL Sniper School, and deployed around the globe. In this episode, I sit with my friend, Meredith Viguers, and we talk about becoming empowered you. Meredith and I connected over dinner while we were in Dallas a few weeks ago during an event. And I had one of the best conversations I've had with anyone very long time about leadership, entrepreneurship, and showing up for your people in about living life on your terms. As many of you know, I'm an entrepreneur, Think Unbroken is a business; I run multiple other businesses as well, and often in the entrepreneurial space, it can feel lonely, for lack of a better term, but being in community is so important and so practical. Meredith Viguers was born and raised in St Petersburg, FL, and relocated to Central Texas when her husband Jonathan received orders from the Army to Fort Hood. After years in the Insurance, Banking, and Real Estate world, she was ready to take a huge risk, and start her own business. She is the Owner of the Award Winning Central Texas catering company Let Us Do The Cooking and a Certified John Maxwell Speaker, Trainer and Coach. Meredith's years of experience in the Corporate and Customer Service world have led her to become passionate about empowering others to discover, believe in and act on their full potential. That passion had led to her most recent endeavor with the start of Mpowered You. Here, she equips Entrepreneurs to smash through the ceiling of their limiting beliefs, and develop the right team to put systems and processes in place that allow them to grow more profitably with less of their own time. Let's get into the show; I guarantee that Meredith will bring us massive and tremendous value today to develop the right mindset for true success in life! In this episode, I am joined by Vince Warnock as we dive into Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and Shame. This conversation hits home for me in many different ways, and I think it will work for you as well. We all face shame, guilt, self-criticism, and judgment in this idea of imposter syndrome where we don't feel like we're enough and undeserving of wealth, status, love, happiness, contentment, whatever thing, maybe. Vince shares some incredible insights, not only from his journey of stealing food when he was a child to build a multi-million dollar businesses, but facing the shame, the guilt, and the Imposter syndrome along the way and the power of stepping into what he's decided to be in his life while still combating this idea of maybe, do I, or do I not deserve it. Such a profound conversation because I see so many parallels in so many of our journeys when facing shame and facing this idea that we're not enough. So if you feel like you're not enough, if you feel like their shame, if you feel like there's imposter syndrome in your life, in your experience right now. I want you to listen to this episode and honor yourself with some vulnerability and honesty that maybe you deserve the life you want to have. In this episode, we have featured guest speaker, Alan Lazaros and we talk about the quality of your life is the quality of your choices. I understood something really important, and that is if you're always the smartest person in the room, you're the dumbest person in the room. And so, I forced myself to go on this personal growth and development journey through self-education. Also, Alan shares with us about the power of choice and how it affects our lives. Alan and I met a few years ago at one of Brendon Burchard's events influencers, and it wasn't that long ago. Well, maybe it was at this point 10 years ago, I was like sitting and looking at Brendon Burchard, Tony Robbins, you know, these guys used to be self-help gurus quote-unquote, right? Alan Lazaros hosts the former Hyper Conscious Podcast and now Next Level University Podcast. He also has business coaches, podcast coaches, speakers, and entrepreneurs. Alan is an Engineer with an MBA who now runs his own business consulting firm. Remember, there's a sacrifice on the backside of moving towards your dream, but it all starts very simply in your belief about what you believe! In this episode, I talk about setting yourself up for success during the Holidays. I think it's more pertinent than ever to acknowledge that we need tools right now, especially in 2021; towards the end of it, Christmas is around the corner. For some, Christmas was not filled with trauma and abuse, and I am not envious of them. No, quite the opposite. I am thrilled for them because that means that someone in their lives took the mantle of peace, understanding, communication, and love. For the rest of us, I only hope that we can step further into our truth and seek not only safety but hope that one day we will no longer be on the backside of holiday cheer but instead be at the forefront of happiness. We all have different trauma experiences in life, but this will not be the barrier to Becoming the Hero of Our Own Story. How do you put yourself in a position to be successful along with setting yourself up for success in the future in a time, which you are being set up to fail? In this episode, I sit with my friend Dave Hollis and we talk about his journey to where he is today, you know, it's a really fascinating conversation and a story about not only facing your fear but what it means to have your identity disrupted and have to put yourself back together. And this conversation has hit home with me in a really intensive way, going through the backside of these really difficult experiences in life breakups, changes of jobs, moving, losing friendships, it's so much a part of the human experience and the conversation that Dave brings to the table and I think it's one that is going to be beneficial for everyone regardless of where you are because we're always in this shift, we're always in change, were always an evolution and what Dave talks about with me today is something that was profound for me and, not only because of my own extenuating circumstances, but because I think in general, we are always in this position of discovery at depth whether we want to be or not, and that really hit home with me. Dave is a New York Times best-selling author, host of the popular Rise Together podcast, keynote speaker, and life and business coach. Dave's history includes CEO of a media start-up, President of Sales for the film studio at The Walt Disney Company, talent manager across film, TV, and music, along with work in publicity, research, and technology in the entertainment sector. He is the father to four kids, a four-time foster parent, an avid runner, a sports memorabilia enthusiast, and the proud owner of a 1969 Ford Bronco. Dave was faced with this really intense, not only identity crisis but kind of a coming to a self moment in which he had to rediscover, who, he truly was in his power, through the scope of not only change and challenge but facing fear. Also, I wanted to tell you; you can get a copy of Think Unbroken Understanding and Overcoming Childhood Trauma for free. If you just cover the shipping, if you go to book.thinkunbroken.com, you can get a paperback copy of Think Unbroken as well as information on other programs and things that are available and I have 1,000 copies of the book that I'm giving away for free. So if you just go to book.thinkunbroken.com, you'll be able to find out more information about that. And again, I have a huge amount of gratitude for you. In this episode, we have guest speaker Dr. Rachel Reinhart Taylor; we talk about navigating religious trauma and recognizing who you are to build your identity and learn to do the hardest thing that we ever do to love ourselves. I asked Rachel to come on the podcast to talk about a few things. One is that she's a Doctor who's overcome some tremendous trauma to look at the science behind the research, what happens to the body in a literal way, in a literal sense of a shift in the DNA from CPTSD, PTSD, and traumatic experiences. Rachel Reinhart Taylor MD is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician, certified meditation teacher, intuitive health educator, and author of Medication Detox: How to Live Your Best Health. She is passionate about ways to be healthy both mentally and physically in ways that are accessible to anybody and are free! She loves underserved population work and has gone through many traumatic experiences, and is unafraid to talk candidly about them and the growth that occurred during them. I'm going to tell you this; it's really important; we are not going to rain down on religion; that is not what we're talking about here, but we aren't talking about the negative impact and ramifications of religious trauma. So we have a back and a forth here to an extent, I've never really gone in-depth about the religious trauma that I've had on the podcast, and that's not what's happening here. Still, instead, just like anything, we're trying to identify how we got to where we are, so we can get to where we want to go. So, Dr. Taylor came on and helped have this fascinating conversation with me. I'm very excited to share it with you today! In this episode, I read a chapter of my book Think Unbroken Understanding and Overcoming Childhood Trauma and share fear and excitement with you. We find ourselves scared to ask for our wants and needs due to the fear of punishment or persecution. We pretend that everything is all right, despite knowing the truth is the opposite. We tell people what we think they want to hear to avoid being vulnerable. We avoid our potential to know, love, happiness, success, freedom, health, peace, understanding, and the chance to be whole. What do you think would happen if you took the fear that embodies you and switched it into excitement? Remember, you have to be in control of every action and decision to shape your life into what you want it to be. Find out more and listen to this episode! This week's adventure is taken in the company of William Branum, a former US Navy SEAL with over 25 years of military service. As with many war veterans, William has suffered from numerous physical injuries and psychological symptoms that negatively impacted his quality of life and wellbeing. He founded the Naked Warrior Recovery company to assist veteran s and first responders who also experience problems with anxiety and joint pain and provide cannabinoid solutions. On the show William talks about Five SEAL Secrets, a short book that he’s written that allows people to learn to think like a Navy SEAL. KEY TAKEAWAYS I was having a hard time getting on with life and I discovered CBD as a modality to help me turn off some of the noise in my brain rather than drinking myself to sleep at night. As I went down this road of self-discovery I found a lot of baggage, like armour, and I had to take it and my ego off and set it aside, get naked and be more vulnerable. Hell week, the most famous week in military training: five and a half days of no sleep, you’re cold, wet and miserable the whole time. But there’s one thing that’s constant: They’re going to feed you four times a day, no matter what’s going on or how much it sucks you just have to get to that next meal. In life, if you’re thinking about quitting you just have to break things up into small, bitesize, attainable pieces and all you have to do is get through each piece to the next piece. It may still not be easy, but as long as you have a plan and you begin planning and executing that plan you’ll achieve it. NAKED – Never quit, Accept failure, Kill mediocrity, Expose your fears, Do the work. Competing doesn’t mean going out and fighting people, you can compete in kindness, gratitude, giving and then compete against your own ego that makes you afraid to smile and say “hi” to someone in the street. Make that a goal every day. There are leaders who I know don’t know how to do something but are afraid to show weakness, and I’ve been there. But, once I became brave enough to say “hey, I don’t know how to do that, what do you think?” I also figured out some more strategic ways to not look like an idiot if I didn’t know something, I might ask “How would you attack this goal? I really value your input” then you’re talking from a leadership aspect and you’ve allowed the other party ownership. BEST MOMENTS ‘If you don’t take care of yourself no one else is going to.’ ‘Green Berets wanna be Navy SEALs!’ ‘Failure is a great teacher. If you’re not failing, you’re not trying.’ ‘Innovations that are making our lives easier are making us more mediocre.’ ‘Fear is a vampire that lives in a deep, dark place in your brain sucking the life out of you and you kill it by exposing it to the light.’ VALUABLE RESOURCES The Adventures Of Self Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the.adventures.of.self/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/The.Adventures.of.Self ABOUT THE GUEST A former US Navy SEAL with 26 years of service, William Branum is the founder of NW Recovery. At an early age William knew he wanted to be part of a team that would push him beyond whatever limits he thought he had and still enjoy the outdoors and all it had to offer. He charged forward and became an Eagle Scout and joined the Navy immediately after graduating High School. After graduating from SEAL training, he was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA then San Diego, CA, and finally Oahu, HI where he served on multiple SEAL Teams, taught SEAL Sniper School, and deployed around the globe. As with too many veterans, William suffered from numerous physical injuries and psychological symptoms that negatively impacted his well-being and quality of life. Migraines, severe anxiety, chronic pains, difficulty focusing, difficulty sleeping/falling asleep, and depression are some of the symptoms he would struggle with on a daily basis. He tried many prescription medications to help and eventually started to “self-medicate” with alcohol to help with pain and sleep issues. During his last few years of military service William started hearing more about the promising benefits of cannabinoids like CBD. Ultimately, he chose to wait until his retirement from the military before exploring this new world of plant-based benefits to help aid in his physical and psychological recovery. Determined to maintain his Top Secret Security clearance after the military, he sought THC free options of CBD. Since his discovery of CBD, William has reduced anxiety, improved sleep, less joint pain and an overall improved quality of life. Today William is focused on sharing the recovery benefits he has experienced through premium quality (THC Free) CBD in hopes that other Veterans and First Responders can also experience their own recovery. In this episode, I am joined by Casey McGuire Davidson. We take a deep dive and talk about alcohol, sobriety, and indoctrination of marketing and alcohol consumption, and how to start to understand whether or not alcohol is impacting your life. You know, I've spoken about it before at length, but in my mid-20s, it was all about alcohol and partying and drinking and not taking care of myself. I used to drink myself to sleep for a very long time, not having the right coping mechanisms, not having the right tools to manage and navigate stress, social pressures being filling like I'm too far gone dealing with the shame and guilt of it. In cases, approaches are really interesting because it's practical in that we can start to step into creating massive change in our lives around the way that we understand alcohol from a consumer perspective and the marketing that we see every day, especially geared towards women. I'll say this right now, if you are a woman, if you are a mom, if you are a wine mom, you will want to listen to this episode, there's no shame, there's no guilt or anything here. But it's just an interesting conversation that she and I have about this idea of understanding that the social norms of alcohol in the years that we are in right now may be detrimental in ways that we don't even understand. If you're in this place in your life, you're contemplating, or you're in precontemplation about this idea of like is drinking problematically in your life. You may want to take some time and listen to this episode. There were a lot of parallels in the conversation I had with her in thinking about my own journey with alcohol over the last 36 years of my life. And so this episode, I think, hits home for me, particularly in many ways because I think about where my life would be if I did not change the established relationship that I had with the adult beverages. Let's get into the show and listen to this episode! Learn more about Casey Davidson at: Learn more about Coaching Program: Learn more about NW Recovery at:

Think Unbroken with Michael Unbroken | CPTSD, TRAUMA and Mental Health Healing Podcast
In this episode, we have a guest speaker, Danna Olivo. I love this episode; I love this conversation. As you know, I am a huge proponent of Entrepreneurship. I believe that, honestly, it is the tremendous sense of freedom that we can have. When I think about this, and people are always, like – how to parlay with trauma like how do trauma and entrepreneurship go hand in hand? What I think about is this, when we're growing up, when we're coming up, when we're experiencing trauma, when we had our rights effectively taken from us when we're in this position, we're trying to figure out who we navigate the world. Someone's always telling us who we can't be, entrepreneurship is the thing that we can be, and that's why it's so important to me, that's why I love it, there's freedom, there's trust and learning yourself, there's the ability to connect with other people. Its community, goal setting, and entrepreneurship are literally everything that Think Unbroken is about. And I mean that in the sense of, in a very simplified way, it is stepping through trauma and coming on the other side and living life on your terms. Let's be clear if you're like – I want to go to a corporate job and at the end of the day, when I come home and watch Netflix with the family, respect, do that. That's the only thing I ever want anyone to do, is live life on their terms, but if you're like, I hate my life, it sucks, I have to wear this suit and tie or this dress I don't want to wear, and I can't stand my job, and my boss is a dick and every single time they take taxes out, I'm like – why do I work here? You know, maybe there's something about entrepreneurship for you, maybe there's a sense of freedom in that, and so having this conversation with Danna is a beautiful reminder for me about why I started doing this and her journey and her mission is really powerful and potent. Danna is a Business Growth Strategist and CEO of MarketAtomy, LLC. Her passion is working with small first-stage entrepreneurs to ensure that they start out on the right foot and stay on the path to financial freedom. Known as the Business Birthing Specialist, Danna understands the intricacies involved in starting and running a successful business. Her efforts extend beyond the initial strategic planning process into the implementation and monitoring phase. She has recently launched the first eLearning environment specifically targeting small micro-businesses called MarketAtomy.Academy. I hope that you'll take some time to listen here today. In this episode, I sit with my friend, Collin Mitchell, who talked about tapping into your superpower after trauma. Many people would share their stories, their experiences, triumphs, failures, and all the things in between because, ultimately, it is a continuation of a conversation about trauma, success, and failure. Listen in to this episode, it's profound, but the one thing I will say is this; I believe in what he says, we all have a superpower within us, we all have the ability to be great, we all have the ability to tap into what is next in our life to create it to passionate it and to bring it to fruition, but we have to be willing to tap into that superpower, we have to be able to own it, we have to be willing and most importantly to knowledge that we can be successful. I hope that you'll find that in this episode and lead you to the place of being Unbroken. Learn more about Sales Cast at: Learn more about Coaching Program: Learn more about NW Recovery at:

In this episode, we have guest speaker Kelly Gores. And we talk about the body's innate ability to heal itself, which, if you know my story and many of us as trauma survivors, we carry a lot of pain, a lot of suffering, a lot of the past and our body. It was a fantastic conversation. Kelly is the writer, director, and producer of HEAL, a documentary feature about the mind-body connection and our body's innate ability to heal. She also authored the follow-up book HEAL and is a host of the new HEAL podcast. A Los Angeles native, she grew up in front of the camera, acting on and off in commercials, TV, and film from the age of 7. Kelly is a seeker, meditator, and investor who enjoys traveling, sports, reading, and writing. Today's episode with Kelly is really empowering and powerful, especially if you come from this place and try to figure out how to take care of myself? How do I navigate going to the doctor? Or what's the deal with eastern medicine? I don't know how to trust myself. A lot of the questions that we have about our physical and mental health. We dive into this idea about Placebo, which I think is powerful. So, let's get into the show! Listen and I guarantee you, this episode will give us a massive change in our lives! In this episode, I sit with my friend, Ashley Ryckman. Ashley and I have connected quite a bit over the last few months, and our collaboration of having some powerful conversations around creating massive change in the world. I particularly enjoyed this conversation with Ashley because it's just such a great reminder, even to myself, that no matter where we come from, we can create the life we want to have. We create, whether it's the business or the family, or whatever that vision is we have for our life no matter what we come from. Ashley is a wife and Mompreneur of six beautiful humans! She is passionate about what she does and committed to helping women worldwide believe they deserve a life of love and abundance. Ashley's story is harrowing, and it's daunting at times, but it's beautiful and powerful. We need some time to understand that anything is possible. We are all on this planet together, whether going through this journey together. And in this conversation, we're going to dive into many different topics, not only becoming the hero of her own story but choosing to put herself first and identifying ways in her methods that she's been able to empower other people to do the same. I'm looking forward to you listening or watching it today! -Be Unbroken. In this episode, I read the chapter of my book Think Unbroken Understanding and Overcoming Childhood Trauma. And I read one of the chapters about Hard work, Time, and Patience. There are bits and pieces that you can compile from the world around you to create your protocol, but at the end of the day, you have to be patient with yourself, and you have to give yourself time to heal even if it takes the rest of your life. When I decided to take the first step, I realized that the hard work ahead could not be measured against metrics or timelines. No one can determine what that thing is except for you. In this episode, I want to share that the hardest aspect of being a trauma survivor is learning what you should have been taught. Did you know that you are worthy of love without an exchange of value? I didn't understand that reality at all until this weekend. I literally became a different person. Today I am a different person. I can't explain it in the text, but if you have ever struggled with love, I think you should watch this. Every aspect of my life feels different today. I'm still trying to understand this, but I believe in teaching what I learn. So here goes. In this episode, we have guest speaker Nick Nanton. We talked about the power of storytelling to create hope in your life. There are certain times where you come across people in your life, and you get the opportunity to have a conversation with them, and it matters in a profoundly impactful way, and that's how I felt about this conversation. I came across Nick a couple of years ago after watching his documentary film dreamer, and I was moved by the fact that someone would be willing to tell stories about people that we would never hear otherwise. Then, I watched a documentary he did with Tim Ballard of Operation Underground Railroad. Nick Nanton has created over 60 films and one sold-out Broadway Show. He directed and produced documentaries on people like Rudy Ruettiger of Notre Dame, Peter Diamandis founder of the X Prize, and the first private space flight and organizations, like operation Underground Railroad, folds of Honor, canines for warriors, and more. Nick has over twenty-two Emmy Awards impact 100 at the United Nations, three gold records. He's a 40 under 40 and one of the best bars since he also is a lawyer, as if he didn't have enough accolades on his plate. And I think that's so much about this journey is just leveraging that understanding that we can look towards people who are just in front of us to follow, learn from, be guided by, and create massive change in our lives. And that's why I created the Think Unbroken Coaching Program; that's why I created the six-week immersive program. I was hoping you could come into this program to learn, to grow, to change, to transform, and to take what I understand and adapt it to your life in a way that can be practical. Now, of course, I always tell people that if you listen to this podcast, you never have to buy a program, read a book, or come to an event, but if you want to go to the next level, come and join the Think Unbroken Coaching Program. I will read about “Understanding Panic attack, Flashbacks, and Triggers as a trauma survivor.” Today, I will share breathing practice in our daily lives with you, learn to control your breath, and understand what triggers you and why those triggers cause you to have a flashback. Your mind is the most powerful tool you have because when you learn to work with it, you can control how you respond to everything that happens in your life. As we know and continue to learn, the breath is one of the important human functions for regulating the flow of chemicals released in the brain; learning to control our breathing can help you navigate anxiety, depression, panic, and fear. Have you ever had a panic attack the moment that you found yourself alone, undistracted, and not shifting your attention anywhere else in particular? Think Unbroken with Michael Unbroken | CPTSD, TRAUMA and Mental Health Healing Podcast
In this episode, I share another chapter of my book, Think Unbroken Understanding and Overcoming Childhood Trauma. How do you navigate flashbacks when you can't control when they happen? Listen as I dive into this episode because it is important to understand how the mind works and navigate triggers as they arise! 791- A former US Navy SEAL with 26 years of service, William Branum is the founder of NW Recovery. As with too many veterans, William suffered from numerous physical injuries and psychological symptoms that negatively impacted his well being and quality of life. Migraines, severe anxiety, chronic pains, difficulty focusing, difficulty sleeping/falling asleep, and depression are some of the symptoms he would struggle with on a daily basis. He tried many prescription medications to help and eventually started to “self medicate” with alcohol to help with pain and sleep issues. During his last few years of military service William started hearing more about the promising benefits of cannabinoids like CBD. Ultimately, he chose to wait until his retirement from the military before exploring this new world of plant based benefits to help aid in his physical and psychological recovery. ________ Want your customers to talk about you to their friends and family?
