Through personal experiences, insights from clients, and powerful reflections, Susan explores how we can recognize our "crazy," shift our mindset, and stop letting stress consume us. She discusses the importance of staying present, finding meaning in struggles, and reclaiming confidence in difficult times. With wisdom from Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning and a dose of humor, this episode will help you unpack the emotional baggage and move forward with clarity and resilience. I AM BACK after 4 months out! I missed being here, but tbh I just wasn't ready. 2024 may have knocked me a lot harder than '23 (!!?)–because boy was it full of change and uncertainty–so much so, I took time off podcasting to refocus on getting well and clear. So here's my life update. The theme is: Rejection + Reflection = Redirection. The end of the year is usually the time for taking stock of impactful events, so here are mine, my self-observations along the way, and what I'm taking into 2025. Themes in this episode: -Being laid off work -When it rains it pours (a series of unfortunate events) -Having an unexpected healing period and starting again in my early thirties  -Living in alignment with my values -Life choices... What did this period teach me? -Knowing yourself, your limits and capacity – and when to ask for help! -Doing what feels authentic, not doing what you “should” do -Reframing periods of ‘not achieving' to something that's kinder to yourself -Living from a place fear vs. from a place of love -Taking a new work direction and considering a career change -Change hits harder the older I get… -Self-compassion Expect a Part 2 – the 6 key learnings and tools that got me through. Changing Lives, Building Strong Families and Impacting Our Communities For Jesus Christ."To everything there is a season." Eccl. 3:1 NKJVWhen change happens in the workplace, we often feel threatened. We get used to the personalities of our co-workers and bosses, and we want them to remain in place, stay the same, and require nothing more from us than what we have given in the past.Out of our desire for stability, security, and predictability, we fail to prepare for instability, uncertainty, and surprises. How ironic! If we were willing to adjust our expectations and be more realistic, we wouldn't be so traumatized when change comes. Things can change overnight. It may be the loss of a parent, or a job, or your health.Change is the only constant in life. And it has the potential to move you on to better things or flatten you like a steamroller. The choice is yours. "To everything there is a season." The truth is, God is your only secure anchor in life, so if you're wise, you will build a strong relationship with Him. Ultimately, He will never allow you to depend on anything but Him. Here is Elijah's story: "The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, ...and he drank from the brook. And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land" (1Ki 17:6-7 NKJV). Elijah may have panicked, but God didn't. "The word of the Lord came to him, saying, 'Arise, go to Zarephath...and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you'" (vv. 8-9 NKJV). Notice what God used to provide for Elijah: ravens, a brook, and a penniless widow. So enjoy your job, excel in it, but depend only on God!I Instability, uncertainty, and surprisesSupport the show

It's Thursday and that means it's time for the REALEST TALK on the internet, REAL TALK with Jimmy Moore! Join Jimmy today as he welcomes William Branum to talk about his Navy SEAL experience and how he uses that now to handle change. “Focus on one area of your life to improve and then master it!” - William Branum   In this episode, Jimmy has the pleasure of speaking with a former Navy SEAL and CBD business owner named William Branum (@nakedwarriorrecovery). In his intense training as a SEAL, William learned some invaluable lessons in life about how to best deal with stress and change in real time. For him, adding in quality CBD products has helped calm his mind from the anxiety of day-to-day living and implementing his NAKED mantra (an acronym for his philosophy on every aspect of your life) is helping veterans, first responders, and virtually anyone to recover from pain, stress, anxiety, and sleep issues. What a great conversation with a true American hero. A former US Navy SEAL with 26 years of service, William Branum is the founder of NW Recovery. At an early age William knew he wanted to be part of a team that would push him beyond whatever limits he thought he had and still enjoy the outdoors and all it had to offer. He charged forward and became an Eagle Scout and joined the Navy immediately after graduating High School. After graduating from SEAL Training (BUD/S Class 208) he was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA then San Diego, CA, and finally Oahu, HI where he served on multiple SEAL Teams, taught SEAL Sniper School, and deployed around the globe. The only constant in life is change, so wouldn't you say that having a healthy relationship with change is an important life skill? Instead of fearing, dreading, or doing your utmost to postpone inevitable changes, these affirmations will help you find comfort and perspective amidst the changing seasons in your life. Affirmations for Handling Change: The season of change is upon me, and I am making the intentional choice to embrace it. I am calmly breathing into change, and leaning into it with ease. Change is good. It is good for me, even if I don't see how so in the moment. I don't need to have all of the answers right now, I just need to trust the process and that what's happening right now is ultimately for the highest good. I am choosing to embrace change, because I know that each NEW chapter of life is full of its own special blessings. Each new chapter of life that change brings forth, has its own unique purpose. There is a reason for every season, and I am excited- I am waiting with joyful anticipation to see what amazing experiences this next phase of life has to offer me. When change feels like the closing of one door, I remind myself that it is also the opening of another. And that puts a smile on my face. That relaxes and reassures me. I feel my whole body release tension as I breathe deeply now, and find faith in the greater plan- the bigger picture. I trust that everything is unfolding as it is meant to, for the highest good. Everything is going to work out and turn out beautifully. So I am going with the flow of change. I am finding support and encouragement throughout the transition process. I am taking advantage of the ways that change requires me to grow and evolve, and I am becoming a stronger person because of it. Change is not the enemy; only my resistance to change has the power to hold me back. I am grateful for the diversity of experience and wisdom that I glean from change. From this day moving forward, I am viewing and treating change as a welcome friend.
