Fresh off an exhilarating two days at the Australian Real Estate Conference (AREC) on the Gold Coast, we're buzzing with insights and inspiration worth sharing. This wasn't just any industry gathering – we're talking about an event that drew 6,000 real estate professionals and featured speakers ranging from the Vice President of the United States to Olympic gold medalists.Steve Bartlett, host of "Podcast of a CEO," delivered one of the most actionable takeaways: implement small daily actions that compound into massive impact over time. Rather than sweeping changes, he advocated for consistent, manageable improvements that transform your business when practiced daily for 365 days. This beautifully simple approach resonated deeply because it's accessible to everyone regardless of experience level. The financial outlook provided unexpected optimism when renowned accountant Anthony Bell predicted a property boom within six months, suggesting Australian markets could see 12% growth. His data-driven analysis tracked global trends and international influences, offering evidence-based reassurance for agents concerned about market direction. Meanwhile, Olympic athletes shared stories of unwavering dedication that perfectly paralleled successful real estate careers – consistency, discipline, and the willingness to outwork competitors emerged as non-negotiable traits across all fields of excellence. What struck us most powerfully was the common thread connecting every successful speaker: relentless energy and refusal to compromise on their vision. Yet this came with crucial warnings about sustainability and preventing burnout. The conference emphasized finding your personal balance rather than mimicking others' work rhythms, ensuring longevity in this demanding profession.Have you been considering attending industry conferences but wondering if they're worth the investment? Reach out and let us know which speakers or topics from AREC interested you most, and we'd be happy to share more detailed insights from our experience.
When you want to get to know someone better, you ask them a lot of questions, right?Maybe not . . .This week, we pick up on an important point Elliott made last episode about avoiding questions to facilitate effective, authentic communication. It seems counterintuitive, but we can actually gather MORE information and cultivate DEEPER intimacy by communicating with statements. So, how exactly do we do this?Elliott and I share a foundational technique from Carl Rogers' Client Centered Therapy—reflective listening. It's a simple adjustment that dramatically alters communication. You can try it today and immediately experience the difference!Your friends, family, and romantic partners will feel seen, heard, and validated. They'll know how much you care about them through your reflections of what they're expressing. The best part? You don't have to try to figure out the right words to say or the right questions to ask.Because, as we noted above, it's NOT about questions at all!If you're ready to level up your communication skills to deepen understanding and intimacy, join us for some Counseling 101!Citation: Behavior Expert, Chase Hughes, from Steve Bartlett's Facebook page.Sponsor:The Wellness CompanyWebsite: https://www.twc.health/lovelifeCode: LOVELIFE for 15% off your order!Dr. Karin & Pastor Elliott AndersonWebsite: http://loveandlifemedia.com/Empowered Dating Playbook: smarturl.it/EmpoweredDatingBookInstagram: @dr.karin | @pastorelliottanderson

In this episode we embark on an inspiring journey with Barb De Corti, the visionary behind ENJO Australia, a brand that has redefined cleaning for the better. Barb's journey began with a personal struggle - her young son's severe asthma. Unaware of the harmful impact of cleaning chemicals on his health, Barb's life took a transformative turn when she discovered the wonders of ENJO during her time in Austria, a product extensively used in Western Europe and Scandinavia. Upon returning home, Barb introduced ENJO to her friends and family, sparking immense interest. Recognizing the potential to make a difference in people's lives, she invested her entire life savings of $40,000 to launch ENJO Australia. The direct selling method, which allowed her to demonstrate the product's effectiveness, proved to be the best way to share the ENJO experience. This method not only transformed the cleaning industry but also provided an opportunity for individuals to reenter the workforce and learn the ropes of establishing their own businesses. Throughout the episode, Barb shares some impactful book recommendations that have guided her on her entrepreneurial journey, including "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, "Find Your Why" by Simon Sinek, "Diary of a CEO" by Steve Bartlett, and the work of Brené Brown. She emphasises the importance of passion, purpose, and profit in driving her mission. Barb also touches on the ebb and flow of direct selling consultants, highlighting the impact of changes in the workforce, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. To adapt, ENJO Australia transitioned to e-commerce while still incorporating consultants into the process. Another great guest on ScaleUp Radio. This time I speak with Jenna Wilson, who is the founder of Little Dreams Consulting, and they help parents with young children to get sleep under control and get their life back. Probably all of us as entrepreneurs are familiar with what happens when we don't get enough sleep every now and then. And maybe some of us have had young children as well that haven't slept very well, so we can well understand the kind of benefits that Jenna and her team bring. Jenna was a solicitor beforehand for 12 years and then started Little Dreams when she was pregnant with her third child. We also talk about franchising, because Jen has moved into franchising her business. We uncover a lot of lessons around why you might want to franchise and some of the things you need to think about. But it's not all about franchising. To be taken seriously within sleep you need to build up that credibility just like we do with any other business, and we discuss how Jenna establishes that credibility. We also talk about building the culture and how to make sure that culture is maintained and as more people become involved. A really great interview and I encourage you to listen carefully to everything that Jen has got to say. The marketing world faces constant challenges, and leading an agency takes a lot. The ability to adapt and grow is a challenge for all businesses, particularly in marketing. So how can agencies keep up with the speed of change, help their clients, and keep their employees happy? The answers to these simple questions have big outcomes for agencies. In this episode, recorded during a heatwave in August, I chat with Alex Ayin. Alex is a former board member at Social Chain who was there with Steve Bartlett in the early days. He is now Marketing Director, and part of the leadership team at Wiser - a creative and recruitment agency. So, Alex had plenty to share from his experience working at Social Chain and Wiser, and everywhere else in between. Thanks for listening/watching.
The founders stepped into the boardroom this week and opened up about their experiences like never before. They reflect on Steve Bartlett's latest episode on his podcast (The Diary Of A C.E.O) where he featured grammy-award-winning South African DJ, Black Coffee. The founders unpack his successful journey and juxtapose his struggles with some of theirs- highlighting how uncomfortable it can be to be patient with oneself, extend grace and allow oneself to go through life's process of becoming who you are meant to be. Ash took time out his day to allow me to visit their Great Influence offices in Manchester. Conducting the podcast in a glass greenhouse, we spoke about his origin story from founding member of social chain with Steve Bartlett to founding his own company, Great Influence. From how culture works within a business to how success is perceived, Ash really got me thinking about my own journey. I hope he does the same for you. Our guest on this afternoon's episode of the Gentleman's Journal podcast is Steve Bartlett, the founder and CEO of Social Chain. Since its birth in 2014, Social Chain has gone on to become the most successful social media agency ever — it owns and controls some of the world's biggest social accounts, employs more than 250 people worldwide, and has been behind some of the biggest viral trends of the last several years. Our thanks once again to Mark's Club for playing host
Steve Bartlett is the 25 year old CEO and co-founder of the social media marketing agency Social Chain. At a young age he was forced to become independent and be creative to find food & new clothes. He attended 1 college course (because this is what society implemented as the norm) and dropped out to create a company of his own. @stevebartlettsc My interview with Steve on Diary of a CEO: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-diary-of-a-ceo/id1291423644?mt=2 nfwy79tm Learn more about your ad choices.
