WOW what a disaster. Trump was the clear winner. It was incredibly sad to see both men arguing over their golf game when families are arguing over what essentials to forgo this week. It was equally infuriating to see Joe Biden haphazardly mentioned the rape and murder of 12 year old Jocelyn Nungaray as he tried to somehow compare that with Abortion. Doubly, it was also infuriating to hear Biden claim he had no military deaths under his administration, clearly forgetting the 13 US Service members killed in action during the final hours of the Afghanistan withdrawal. Here we are again, just the two of us. After last week's heavy topics, and a week full of fun and important events, we thought we would sit down again and chat with each other about something that is very important in our lives ... service to your community. We've spoken a lot about the value we place on giving your time and so for this week's episode we dive a bit deeper into the subject of service. We're just coming off of the annual Distinguished Service Awards, a long standing tradition of recognizing people in our community who have made service a priority in their lives. It's always an inspiring event and we're left with hope for the future of our town and an immense appreciation for all who have given in such meaningful ways. We also give a recap of the concert we threw at The Bindery last week (thanks for coming out!) and end with the message to get out and VOTE, because today is election day!

The absolute best service rifle the US military has ever fielded is the M16 family of weapons. This is a fact that really isn't debatable unless you're a contrarian, so today the boys are trying to figure out what rifle is the "best of the rest." Is the M14 the second best service rifle? Or perhaps the M1 Garand?

Twelve members of the US military were killed and at least 15 more were injured in the attack at Kabul's airport, Gen. Kenneth "Frank" McKenzie, head of the US Central Command, said at a briefing. An official with Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health told CNN on Thursday that more than 60 people were dead and 140 wounded. McKenzie said there are roughly 1,000 Americans left in Afghanistan. While the "threat from ISIS is extremely real," troops are still assisting with bringing people onto the airfield, he said.To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy

A two-year investigation by the group Vietnam Veterans of America has concluded foreign online trolls are persistently and systematically targeting US service members and veterans. Troll farms backed by the Russian government are some of the biggest malefactors, but they're far from the only ones. VVA said stopping the campaigns is going to require serious work by both the government and social media companies. To talk about some of those steps, Federal Drive with Tom Temin was joined by Kristofer Goldsmith, VVA's associate director for Policy and Government Affairs. He's also the lead investigator on VVA's troll report.
