Listen in to learn what you'll find in this new series of novellas (all available in one book!) note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you.  "Flowers are in the business of happiness." Isn't that the most delightful picture?  If that doesn't make you want to read more about flowers, nothing will.  And then there's... Capture the Moment-- a national park series coming in MAY!   A Year of Flowers by Suzanne Woods Fisher  In this collection of four heartfelt novellas, three former friends have found success in the floral industry, but happiness--and love--remain elusive. In An Apology in Bloom, wedding florist Jaime Harper is on a meteoric rise, working for an event company led by a successful and way-too-handsome boss. When a letter arrives from her past mentor with an offer too good to pass up, will she stay or head back to her hometown? In A Bouquet of Dreams, Claire Murphy has always dreamed of owning a flower shop, and when her employers hint at retirement, she believes her moment has arrived. But first she must confront her past--and the man who caused her to flee her hometown years ago. In A Field of Beauty, Tessa Anderson has found an acre of farmland to start her flower farm and forget the past. She's grateful for the help of two men--her boyfriend, Tyler, and a quiet soil specialist named Dawson. But as the farm finally starts to bloom, Tessa will discover something that challenges everything she's built. In A Future in Blossom, Jaime, Claire, and Tessa return to their hometown, finally ready to face each other and their beloved mentor, flower shop owner Rose Reid. As they unite to pull off an extraordinary wedding, amid the flurry of preparations they just may find their way to forgiveness. In this book, Fisher and her "Dok" show how healing isn't just about medicine and diagnoses--sometimes it's deeper and comes from within--from the heart.   A Healing Touch by Suzanne Woods Fisher  Ruth "Dok" Stoltzfus is the kind of doctor who still believes in house calls, addressing not just her patients' physical needs but their emotional ones too. When newly widowed Bee faces a breast cancer diagnosis, Dok connects her with Fern Lapp for support. When her painfully shy assistant Annie finds herself drawn to a new calling, Dok goes to great lengths to help her achieve her dream. And when an abandoned newborn mysteriously appears at her office one frosty morning, Dok's world takes an unexpected turn as ripples of change touch several lives. A Healing Touch is a captivating tale of compassion, resilience, and the bonds that form in surprising places. Josephina Harris wouldn't mind if her family still had a few of their own after a lawsuit tarnishes their name. When an opportunity opens to become a temporary keeper of a decommissioned lighthouse on a North Carolina island, she jumps at the chance to escape her small town to oversee its restoration.     As the work begins, "Joey" discovers strange notes tucked deep in the crevices of the old stone walls--pages torn from a lighthouse keeper's log signed by someone named Mae who recounts harrowing rescues at sea. Fascinated by a woman lighthouse keeper, Joey digs into the past only to discover there's never been a record of a lighthouse keeper by that name.   When things start to go amiss on the island, locals are convinced that it is the ghost of the lighthouse keeper and his daughter who were lost at sea during World War II. As Joey sifts through decades of rumors and legends and puts together the pieces of the past, what emerges is a love story--one that's not over yet.   Multiple Christy Award winner Amanda Cox is your guide upon the raging seas of young love, heartbreaking loss, and learning to risk it all for a chance at happiness in this timeless novel. Everyone knows I LOVE a good play on words, and when I listened to the audio sample of The Gardins of Edin, I was so excited that it really was a perfect one. But that's nothing to the story that unfolds in this book. Listen in to discover why Rosey Lee wrote this book. note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you.   What could be cooler than four women of the Bible inspiring characters in a contemporary novel--four women who weren't ALL contemporaries of each other!  You have Ruth and Naomi "types" and... Mary and Martha "types.  Whoa.   A huge, multi-million-dollar business and a matriarch and a family who doesn't accept a daughter-in-law.  Wow.  It sounds amazing, and I can't wait to read it. My copy is here (Thank you, Rosey Lee!) and my audiobook is on my phone.   The Gardins of Edin by Rosey Lee When the bonds in their family begin to fray, four Black women fight to preserve their legacy, heal their wounds, and move forward together in this heartwarming contemporary debut novel with loose parallels to beloved women from the Bible. The four women of the Gardin family live side-by-side in Edin, Georgia, but residing in tight proximity doesn't mean everything is picture-perfect. Ruth runs the family's multimillion-dollar peanut business, a legacy of the Gardins' formerly enslaved ancestors. But tensions have intensified since the death of her husband, Beau, and she feels like an outsider in the very place she wishes to belong. Sisters Mary and Martha fuel the family tension. Martha's unfounded mistrust of Ruth causes her to constantly seek ways to undermine Ruth's decisions with the business, while Mary, trying to focus on her new restaurant that serves healthy comfort food, is dragged into the family fray by Martha. For years, Naomi, the matriarch who raised the sisters after their parents' death and supported Ruth in her grief, has played peacemaker. But as she decides to take a step back, hidden truths, life-and-death circumstances, and escalating clashes finally force the Gardin women to grapple with what it means to be a family. A heartwarming Southern story of family and all its many complexities, The Gardins of Edin delivers a thoughtful portrayal of four women trying to hold on to their secrets. Women who just might—if they can only let go—find the peace they seek by holding on to one another. Learn more about Rosey on her  WEBSITE and follow her  on GoodReads and BookBub. He recommends listening to the Special Edition episodes for a deeper understanding of the topic—in the second one he tackles the 10 Reasons to Read (Fiction.) I had a delightful chat with Katie Powner about writing, characters, her love of pigs, and even the Bible story about the demoniac of Gadarenes. Learning where she got the idea for a garbage-collecting prodigal and a pig named Pearl was only the highlight of the conversation. She also talked about her favorite kinds of books to read (she likes those that are still popular after the newness has worn off) and gave us recommendations for which of her books to start with based on the kind of book you're looking for. The Wind Blows in Sleeping Grass by Katie Powner For the first time in his life, Pete has everything to lose. After years of drifting, fifty-year-old Pete Ryman has settled down with his potbellied pig, Pearl, in the small Montana town of Sleeping Grass--a place he never expected to see again. It's not the life he dreamed of, but there aren't many prospects for a high-school dropout like him. Elderly widow Wilma Jacobsen carries a burden of guilt over her part in events that led to Pete leaving Sleeping Grass decades ago. Now that he's back, she's been praying for the chance to make things right, but she never expected God's answer to leave her flat on her face--literally--and up to her ears in meddling. When the younger sister Pete was separated from as a child shows up in Sleeping Grass with her eleven-year-old son, Pete is forced to face a past he buried long ago, and Wilma discovers her long-awaited chance at redemption may come at a higher cost than she's willing to pay. If you've seen the cover of He Should Have Told the Bees by Amanda Cox, you know why women's fiction lovers are all drumming their fingers for Tuesday's release.  If you haven't seen it, you should go check it out right now. Because this stunning cover is just beautiful wrapping for what promises to be a beautiful (but heartwrenching I suspect) story. Listen in for more about it and a hint at what's to come!   Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. How Can Family Secrets Both Damage Relationships & Unite People? Having just finished The Keeper of the Bees by Gene Stratton-Porter last month (great book. Probably a wonderful companion to this one. Rich faith, too!), I am even more excited to read He Should Have Told the Bees. Who doesn't love a surprise inheritance story--especially when part of the surprise is to the one who assumes she's inheriting her father's legacy only to discover she's got to share it--with a stranger! I don't know about you, but that sounds pretty good. As a beekeeper herself, Amanda Cox brings some experience to the table, which I'm confident will result in a story that will resonate with readers.  Just the story of how she chose this one as her next book is enough to bring a smile to anyone's face. We also got a hint of what's coming next, so don't miss that. He Should Have Told the Bees by Amanda Cox Uncovering long-held family secrets may sting at first--but the result can be sweeter than honey. Beekeeper Beckett Walsh is living her dream, working alongside her father in their apiary until his untimely death sends her world into a tailspin. She suddenly finds she must deal with a new part owner of the family business--one who is looking to sell the property. Beck cannot fathom why her father would put her in the position to lose everything they built together. When Callie Peterson is named in the trust of a man she's never heard of, she's not sure what to do. Her fledgling business has just taken wing and her mother has reentered her life asking for help getting into rehab for her lifelong substance abuse issues, making Callie's financial situation rather . . . precarious. She's sure she has no right to someone else's farm, but the money from the sale could solve her problems and give her the stability she's always craved. As these two women navigate their present conundrum, they will discover a complex and entangled past full of secrets--and the potential for a brighter future for both of them. How Two Sisters Change Their Lives and Forge New Relationships Siblings are important people in our lives--after all, the Lord even refers to His people as His children, as siblings.  And there is something extra special about sister relationships, but when those break down, things can get a little dicey.  Enter Ashlyn Mikayla Ohm and her Climbing Higher series. Where the Wings Rise continues the characters' growth and boy. Am I excited!   Head off to Colorado and see what hawks have to do with this sister bond, our characters' growth, and the continuing romance in this series! Where the Wings Rise by Ashlyn Mikayla Ohm The flight of freedom begins with letting go. After years of disastrous choices, Addisyn Miles has a second chance with the person she once betrayed—her older sister, Avery. Moving from Whistler, Canada, to Avery's home in the Colorado Rockies seems like the perfect opportunity to not only rebuild her fragile relationship with her sister but also distance herself from the past she can't forget. But adjusting to Avery's life is harder than she expected, especially with her heart drawing her back to the chance at love that she left behind in Canada. When she begins helping her sister care for an injured hawk, Addisyn is forced to confront the fears that have left her just as wounded—or to allow her darkest enemy to sabotage her future. As Avery Miles tends to the hawk's broken wing, she prays for her sister to find healing as well. Her goal has always been to keep Addisyn safe, but her every attempt to hang onto her sister only drives them farther apart. As the common ground between the sisters continues to shrink, they're suddenly blindsided by a looming threat from Addisyn's past. Now, they must discover what it would truly take to find healing—before the broken edges of their stories separate them for good. The second book in the Climbing Higher series, Where the Wings Rise is a story of the scars that keep us earthbound, the choices that lead to healing, and most importantly, the faith that allows us to always fly free. Author Hedi McCahan has a new book coming out on Tuesday--one you won't want to miss. One Southern Summer is Heidi's first foray into women's fiction and with Love Inspired's wonderful trade line (read: full-length novel, baby!). So, listen in to find out why I preordered that sucker faster than lightning on a bug... Okay, it's not a Southern saying, but don't you think it should be? Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Why I Can't Wait to Get This Fabulous New Book Okay, Hope Floats is one of my favorite movies. Harry Connick Jr.'s line about the American Dream...  You're talkin' 'bout the American Dream. You find something that you love, and then you twist it, and you torture it, try and find a way to make money at it. You spend a lifetime doing that. At the end, you can't find a trace of what you started out lovin'.  I mean, with lines like that... And when I read the synopsis for One Southern Summer, it reminded me of that movie. Then it hit me. This is a Christian Fiction novel. It's going to have a new twist (because it's not the same story!) on a general idea I loved AND... faith!  What more could I ask for? Heidi McCahan talks about how she got the idea, how long it percolated, how her editors worked with her, and more!  She even talked about her Home to Hearts Bay series! If you're looking for an Alaska read this July (sounds refreshing to me!), then you'll want to check those out. She also has another book coming out next month. Her Alaskan Companion is part of the K-9 Companions series. One Southern Summer by Heidi McCahan It's her second chance summer…if she's ready for it—in this warm and utterly irresistible Southern small-town novel. When Avery Lansing Crawford left her hometown of Camellia, Alabama, she was the darling of the town. A beauty queen. Now she's come back a disgraced and divorced mom who's lost almost everything—her home, her husband, even her design TV show—all while the public watched. And if the humiliation wasn't bad enough, Avery and her two small children are moving in with her mama…just in time to give everyone in Camellia something to talk about.   And oh, they're talkin'. Especially when Avery reignites her old friendship with Cole Whitaker, who's offered Avery the opportunity to do something real: a redesign project that would help survivors of human trafficking. It could kick-start both her career and her confidence—not to mention give her a chance to spend more time with Cole. With three generations of strong Southern women around the family dinner table, coming home to Camellia could be the perfect fresh start. Even if Avery is the topic of salacious gossip over sweet tea and her grandmother won't stop interfering in her love life. But the bonds of family and the promise of second chances just might lead to a future that looks nothing like she expected. Love Inspired is having a big sale, so you can go to the WEBSITE to find out more about that. You can learn more about Heidi McCahan on her WEBSITE. There's nothing better than a book that focuses on friendship and faith, and Hallie Lee has a great series, the Shady Gully Series, that kicks off in Paint Me Fearless and goes through the series dealing with all the difficulties of young adulthood and into all the "adulting" that comes the older you get. A Reader's Favorite winner, this book dives into the past and uncovers a lie that threatens everything.   Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. In Order to Be Fearless, Two Friends Have to Confront the Past I don't know why Hallie Lee makes me think of a contemporary(ish) Anne and Diana in Louisiana, but... there you have it. This award-winning book/series offers a look into the community of Shady Gully and all that goes with it. Meet folks who have known each other for decades and new people who shake things up, and in the end, a lie from the past shakes the foundation of a friendship forged in those turbulent teen years.  You'll love Hallie Lee's writing--almost lyrical without being cumbersome. And whooeee... there are three books available (on audio, too!) but it sounds like Hallie has plans for more in this series.  And remember when I said it had four FIVE-STAR reviews?  Yeah, in just a month it's at 88 reviews and 95% of those are FIVE-STAR REVIEWS! Paint Me Fearless by Hallie Lee It's the spring before high school, and Desiree (Desi) and Robin have little in common. Robin has lived in the small town of Shady Gully, Louisiana her whole life, while Desi comes from the big city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Robin's family is devout, reserved, and dedicated to church. Desi has never been to church, her parents are divorced, and her mom, Sunny, is as flamboyant as they come. When Desi is introduced in class, Robin hates her on sight. But fate draws these two alienated girls to one another, and an alliance born of necessity soon evolves into an affection that endures. Together they become a force strong enough to overcome mean girls, weight hang-ups, and disturbing family dynamics. As their paths diverge and they raise families of their own, rumors of a shocking betrayal ignite old insecurities, and the three-strand cord of their friendship begins to unravel. Just when it seems they have lost everything, the truth brings them full circle … to Desi's long-buried trauma, and to Robin's obsessive quest for perfection. In their brokenness, they come to realize there is only one true way to fill the emptiness inside, to quiet the lies, and to ultimately become… fearless. Listen in as we talk about music, our dads, my weird reading habits, and how the Lord uses fiction to teach us. Note: Links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Isn't There Just Something Inspiring and Encouraging about Music? If you enjoy Christian fiction with a lot of heart, a whole lot of soul, and deep relationships (both romantic, friendly, and family), then Erin Bartels is the author for you.  In her January release (next week on the 17th!), Erin Bartels tackles relationships, old and new, in a book set in an unusual time--1989/1990! Add music to that scene, and you've got something pretty special. Usually, I share author information after the book information, but Erin Bartels wrote actual music FOR Everything Is Just Beginning. So, if you read the book and find the QR codes, don't forget to click on the link to her WEBSITE, you can go there and hear a playlist of the book, the music she wrote, and all kinds of cool stuffness.  I mean, come on! Me, I'm drumming my fingers... just drumming my fingers... Additionally, Erin has a dual timeline book coming out next year, and she's in the middle of all the writing and all the things. In fact, she has a whole stack of books she mentioned that she shared a photo of with us. Everything Is Just Beginning by Erin Bartels An Immersive Story of Music, Struggle, and Starting Over from an Award-Winning Author Michael Sullivan is a talented lyricist and a decent guitarist, but since he was kicked out of his band (and his apartment), he's not sure he'll ever get a record deal. Living with his loser uncle in a beat-up trailer and working a dead-end job, Michael has little reason to hope for a better future. Until the invitation for a swanky New Year's Eve party shows up in the mailbox. It's for his uncle, with whom he shares his name, but his uncle is going out of town... On the effervescent night of December 31, 1989--as the Berlin Wall is coming down, the Soviet Union is inching toward democracy, and anything seems possible--Michael will cross paths with the accomplished and enigmatic young heir to a fading musical dynasty, forever altering both of their futures. Award-winning novelist Erin Bartels enchants with this story of two lonely souls who have exactly what the other one needs--if they could simply turn their focus from what is ending to what is just beginning. According to her husband, she's written over three hundred books, she has a movie out there and another couple on the way, and oh... every genre from Biblical fiction to suspense to romance to women's fiction and youth fiction!  If you want to read it, she's probably got it! Listen in to find out why A Quilt for Christmas should be your next read! Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Community, Quilts, & Christmas Love: What More Could You Want? When I read about a "rag-tag" group of quilters, I knew I would love this book. I mean, quilts, Christmas, kids, and older folks--especially a curmudgeonly old gal. YEAH! Let me have it! This story about a retiree who finds herself living in a new condo with no family nearby and helping out neighbors... well, it had me hooked from the synopsis, but chatting with Melody Carlson about the story, the characters, and her own love of quilts and quilting made the interview extra fun. Getting a bit of insight into Melody's upcoming projects was a lot of fun, too.  A home store "Romancing the Home" in the book Second Time Around, as well as a royal Christmas story for next year (psst... MOVIE, too!). We also chatted about a few of her other books, and can I just say I'm in love with the storylines from Your Heart's Desire, Once Upon a Winter's Heart, and Love Gently Falling?  I didn't know they existed before a couple days before the interview, but they're all mine now! :D A Quilt for Christmas by Melody Carlson Christmas should be celebrated with family. But for Vera Swanson, that's not an option this year. Widowed and recently relocated, she is lonely in her condo-for-one--until little Fiona Albright knocks on her door needing help. With her mother seriously ill and her father out of town, Fiona enlists Vera's help, and when she finds out her new neighbor is a quilter, she has a special request--a Christmas quilt for Mama. Vera will have to get a ragtag group of women together in order to fulfill the request. Between free-spirited artist Tasha, chatty empty nester Beverly, retired therapist Eleanor, and herself, Vera has hopes that Christmas for the Albright family will be merry, after all--and she may find herself a new family of friends along the way. Bestselling and award-winning author Melody Carlson invites you to cuddle up this holiday season with this cozy story of giving, forgiving, and a little bit of romance. The Dust Bowl. The Trinity Project. No one would accuse Jennifer L. Wright of sticking to fluffy topics! But man, the stories she has to tell! When I started reading If It Rains, it felt like I'd found a kindred spirit in Kathryn. But then Jennifer started talking about Come Down Somewhere. Oh, wow. Two women, two decades, converging in an explosion of experiments and faith?  Well... sign me up! Listen in to hear how this story came to be.  Note: Links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. It Helps to Explore the Hard Stuff to Reveal the Good Stuff Author of what I'm going to call "gritty" women's fiction, Jennifer L. Wright isn't timid about tackling the hard stuff. From the dust bowl of Oklahoma to the home of wealthy folks seemingly untouched by the Depression, all the way down to what is supposed to be an "uninhabited" area of New Mexico where the government needs to test a new bomb, she writes of people and places that definitely endure that hard stuff.  Her latest release, Come Down Somewhere, tackles the Trinity Project and the far-reaching consequences of one terrible mistake. Told through the stories of two friends whose lives converge, diverge, and rejoin a decade later, Wright explores the intricacies of friendship, faith, and disillusionment in the wake of tragedy.  I for one, can't wait to read it. Come Down Somewhere by Jennifer L. Wright For fans of WWII fiction comes a powerful novel by Jennifer L. Wright about two young women coming of age during the Trinity nuclear bomb test in 1945. Sixteen-year-old Olive Alexander has lived on a ranch in the Jornada del Muerto region of southern New Mexico her entire life. But when World War II begins, the government seizes her family's land for the construction of a new, top secret Army post. While her mother remains behind, Olive is forced to live in nearby Alamogordo with her grandmother and find a place in a new school. When Jo Hawthorne crosses her path, Olive sees a chance for friendship—until she learns that Jo's father is the Army sergeant who now occupies her beloved ranch. Already angry about her new reality, Olive pushes Jo away. But as she struggles to make sense of her grandmother's lapses into the past and increasingly unsettling hints about what's happening at the ranch, she slowly warms to Jo's winsome faith and steady attempts at friendship . . . until one devastating day when the sky explodes around them and their lives are torn apart. Seven years later, Jo returns to Alamogordo, still angry and wounded by the betrayals of that fateful day. Determined to put the past behind her once and for all, Jo hunts for answers and begins to realize the truth may be far more complicated than she believed, leading her on a desperate search to find her friend before it's too late. Nothing says good, Southern women's fiction like a feisty granny or a family secret, and Robin W. Pearson's got you covered on both fronts. Stir in a pot of faith, and well... you're bound to find a story you'll never forget. And isn't that a blessing? Award-winning, bestselling, and aspiring yodler on the other side of the Rockies, Robin writes stories of faith, family, and it sounds like some seriously delicious food. Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. What's Better Than a Great Women's Fiction Novel on a Summer's Day? New-to-me (or she was!) women's fiction author, Robin W. Pearson writes God-centered, family-focused fiction. Robin is a delightful homeschooling mom of seven and if that wasn't job enough, her debut novel won a Christy award! I mean, that takes some serious skills! Not to mention, it has a killer kick-off synopsis on Amazon. I was hooked from the first paragraph. Robin says she wants people to see love in her books--how to love well even when we don't know how. How to see each other as God does.  I think that sounds pretty amazing. Her debut novel, A Long Time Coming, is more than just a great-sounding book, it really deals with family issues and I'll just say I fell in love with the narrator of the audio. The next book, Till I Want No More, rips your heart out with the synopsis, stomps on it, and says, "There. Now what'll you do about that?  Well, I don't know what I'll do, other than read it of course! And her latest novel?  Oh, my gravy. It released just last week and it's amazing.  Well, the part I've read already is. Walking in Tall Weeds promises to keep your heart on tenterhooks as it takes you through a family's pain and trauma.  And what more could you want? Walking in Tall Weeds by Robin W. Pearson From award-winning author Robin W. Pearson comes a new Southern family drama about one family who discovers their history is only skin-deep and that God's love is the only family tie that binds. Paulette and Fred Baldwin find themselves wading through a new season of life in Hickory Grove, North Carolina. Their only son, McKinley, now works hundreds of miles away, and the distance between the husband and wife feels even farther. When their son returns home, his visit dredges up even more conflict between Fred and Paulette. McKinley makes it no secret that he doesn't intend to follow in his father's footsteps at George & Company Fine Furnishings or otherwise. Fred can't quite bring himself to accept all his son's choices, yet Paulette is determined McKinley will want for nothing, least of all a mother's love and attention—which her own skin color cost her as a child. But all her striving leaves Fred on the outside looking in. Paulette suspects McKinley and Fred are hiding something that could change the whole family. Soon, she's facing a whirlwind she never saw coming, and the three of them must dig deep to confront the truth. Maybe then they'll discover that their history is only skin-deep while their faith can take them right to the heart of things. You can learn more about Robin W. Pearson on her WEBSITE. Once again, I got to chat with the lovely Susan K. Beatty about her latest release, The Fragrance of Violets. It's a powerful book about forgiveness--both from the forgiver's side and from the side of one who doesn't see that anything needs to be forgiven! Listen in as we unpack where Susy came up with the idea and what she learned as she wrote it. You can listen to her first interview HERE. Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. You'll Find the Power of Forgiveness in the Pages of This Book Talking with Susan K. Beatty is always a lot of fun. Her passion for the Lord and sharing it through story comes through every time, and this was no exception. Our conversation gave a very real glimpse into what it's like to be with authors as they get ideas from one thing and turn them into another. Susan said she got the idea for The Fragrance of Violets from seeing a situation handled all wrong and wondering what would have happened had it been approached in a Biblical manner. As usually happens with these things, by the time the story was done, there was no resemblance to the original story. Welcome to the life of an author. But after the lessons she learned while writing The Fragrance of Violets, she began telling us about her upcoming books--the novella in the Christmas collection, Keeping Christmas which are all Christmas stories that take place in castles (fantasy/historical/contemporary), she also told us about her next book. Relinquished. Guys. This book. I've not read a word and it's my new favorite book by her.  How stunningly amazing is this story idea?! The Fragrance of Violets by Susan K. Beatty Life crushes us with its weight sometimes. Fiona's father abandoned her when she was twelve. So when she learns that he's the groom's father in the wedding she's been assigned to manage, all the old hurts resurface. Maybe if he'd just explain himself and ask forgiveness, she'd get over the pain he left her with—pain she obviously hadn't left behind after all. When Nason discovered he wasn't Fiona's biological father, and when her mother tried to sabotage his marriage, he felt like he had no other option but to leave and never look back. Running into her again—awkward to say the least. And he can't understand why she feels betrayed—why she expects him to seek forgiveness. As if life weren't complicated enough, Fiona meets Trevor, which sparks a possible romance. New faith, an overdose, and revelations combine with Trevor's discipleship and shows her how forgiveness really works. What will it take for Nason to swallow his pride and see how his actions hurt an innocent child? The Fragrance of Violets—as Mark Twain once said, “Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” You can learn more about Susy, her books, and upcoming releases on her WEBSITE. Debut author, Autumn Lytle bursts onto the book scene with an eye-opening, timely novel, All That Fills Us, that really addresses an issue that has become almost an epidemic during this difficult time--eating disorders.  This book comes at the issue by taking a woman through tough places to work out tough issues in her heart, and I can't wait to read it! Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. Who Knew an Eating Disorder Could Inspire a Great Book Full of Adventure? I don't know about you, but the idea of trekking two thousand miles from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Mt. Ranier does not fill my soul with joy.  Not only that, roughing it along the way, and using it as a way to confront her personal struggles and demons?  AAAK! But Autumn Lytle doesn't just give you a researched book full of pat answers in this story. She offers a perspective from someone who has faced these same issues herself. Autumn (#notAmy) tells how so many of the thoughts and introspections are quite personal, learned from experience and shared with others. The pandemic saw a surge of people struggling with eating disorders, especially among teens, so the timing of this book's release seems handpicked by the Lord. But that's not all. Autumn has another book that I'm dying to read--one about a young college girl who gets pregnant and what the Lord does in that girl's life... and this story is also quite personal to Autumn--inspired by her parents' lives (and therefore hers as well).  I'm DYING to read this book, guys. So here's the deal. We NEED to read All That Fills Us. It's imperative that she get lots of readers and as many reviews as possible so a publisher will offer a contract for this other book.  I'm begging everyone to read this book (after all, it sounds amazing!!!) and leave a review... literally everywhere. If you loved the book, PLEASE end that review with, "I cannot wait for more from this author" or some equivalent.  Let's show the publisher just how great we think Autumn and her books are! Hey, they've even made it EASY.  Until release day, this book is on sale for just 9.59 with FREE shipping from Baker Book House. That's nearly the price of a Kindle book these days.  Beg your library to get it. Listen on Hoopla or something. Let's get the word out about this awesome book so we can get the next. I'm seriously begging here, folks! All That Fills Us by Autumn Lytle Mel Ellis knows that her eating disorder is ruining her life. But she can't bring herself to go to rehab so someone else can fix her mess. Broken and empty in more ways than one, Mel makes one last-ditch effort to make hers a story worth telling. She will walk her own road to recovery along the lesser-known trails of the North American wilderness. Though she is physically and mentally unprepared to face the difficulties that lay ahead, she sets off on foot from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and heads toward Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State. During the long journey, she meets strangers with their own stories, as well as ghosts from her past who can no longer be ignored. But though the land she travels threatens her success at every turn, it's her own dark thoughts she'll have to overcome in order to find peace in the life and the body she has been given. With pitch-perfect timing and delightfully witty self-awareness, debut author Autumn Lytle masterfully leads readers on a journey down the hard path toward healing. Seriously, what could be better than a curmudgeon with a pampered cat and more shoes than Imelda Marcos? And what about dealing with life-long issues? Liana George has written a compelling book about life, secrets, and overcoming personal demons. Book one of a three-book series, Perfectly Arranged will keep you riveted from the first page.  Ask me how I know. Note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission at no extra expense to you. 3 Reasons You Won't Be Able to Put Down This Hysterical Novel Obviously, I liked the book. I was a bit annoyed that I had to stop reading long enough to do the interview, but Liana George is a whole lot of fun to talk to, so I got over myself pretty quickly. That kind of gives away that I liked the book but um... will you?  I thought it would be fun to share why I think you will. First, characters.  Seriously. This woman knows how to write complicated people without making the writing complicated. That takes skills, folks! Second, emotions. From the first page, Liana George takes you on a wild emotional ride. Not only that, but each tug at your heartstrings, each flare of anger, each confused moment makes SENSE.  Shocker! And third, story.  This book took me to places I'd never have expected from the cover (which we'll talk about in a second).  I loved that twist of the unexpected and a deeper story than I'd anticipated. Liana George does a lovely job of providing a rich reading experience. and that cover... I'll be honest. Until you read the book, it doesn't make a lot of sense.  It gives off strong, nonfiction vibes.  However, once you've read the book, you can't help but smile at it.  And that's kind of cool!
