Everyone is struggling in their own way, and it can often come out as negativity on social media. I work really hard to not let the negative thoughts last long. If my mindset is off, I know I'm not the best person to be around. If I get down, worried, or anxious, things don't operate well. It shows up in work, my marriage, how I'm a mom. I've learned that about myself and I am very self-aware. If I'm acting out in a way that isn't who I want to show up as, I dig deep and figure out what is causing the stress in my life. Snuggling the little one + working at the same time doesn't sound too bad!Stop multitasking. It's BS. Close the tabs, start time blocking your priorities.Sleep better, work better.Hire someone. Help isn't something to be ashamed of. Bonus points for hiring someone to do something that is better at the thing than you are!Always batch process. Think of it as an assembly line. One person doesn't build a whole car. Instead, they make one part over and over because it's much more efficient. Apply this same principle to your business.Have self-awareness. What works for one person may not work for you. Speaking of to-do lists, don't add too many tasks. Try to focus on just one to three things a day. If you finish those then you can add more.Shift your mindset. Are you always thinking about how little time you have? How busy you are? How frazzled you are? What does that thinking do?Let's talk technology. I know it seems like there are new headlines every day about how bad using screens and technology are for your kid, but let's get real for a minute. It's not the end of the world if you give your kid the iPad for 20 minutes while you finish some work. Right now, I am giving you permission!Don't be too hard on yourself. We're learning how to discover satisfaction and respect while honoring our bodies and their signals.Intuitive eating is an evidence-based framework and a non-diet approach to promoting health. It's focused on attunement with your body's signals. Simply put: it's eating when you are hungry, and stopping when you are full. Seeing food as fuel, not filler. Confidence is not manifested through the number on a scale! There is so much more to being happy with yourself; ask yourself what you're really trying to gain and remembering it's okay to want to lose weight, but it's not okay to focus on the number. The scale is limiting. It doesn't take into consideration how many inches you've lost, your body composition, how much muscle you've gained or body fat you've lost, how your clothes are fitting, or how you feel on the inside. What you see on the scale is just one number, and it should be considered as such. Let's unpack the basics today and shift our perspective towards our goals outside of the number we see in front of us.

Morgan sits down with her good friend Lauren Nelson to break down their commonalities and some of the most frequently asked questions they receive as Moms, entrepreneurs, Franchise Partners, career-driven women, and more.Lauren, Franchise Partner of Bethel Park, PA, had been a long-time Burn member before learning of the opportunity to open her own location. She just didn’t see herself as a business owner or think it was possible. She started asking questions - none of which were ever received as silly or inexperienced. The more she learned, the more she could see herself in the shoes of a Franchise Partner. Burn’s mission was her true North throughout the entire opening process, which she trusted completely. In 2015 she found out she was expecting her first child, and by 2016 she had signed on to become Franchise Partner of Bethel Park.Lauren fought the mental battle of feeling torn between her dream of being a SAHM and becoming a business owner. She’s an innate lover of people, a goal-setter, and a team player, which comes from her collegiate athletic background and competitive edge. Throughout the onboarding process, she kept waiting for a sign not to move forward with the business, or a red flag telling her it would take time away from her family - but that flag never waved! To learn more about all of the opportunities waiting on the other side of self-doubt, check out this podcast and Lauren's full story.Enjoy this episode?
