This week Tee welcomes Lauren Nelson, a traditional naturopath and health coach, to educate listeners on how your blood work may be sending confusing and perhaps false signals about your overall health. After 16 years of coping and managing her own chronic illness, which left her home and bed-ridden for many of her best years, Lauren took healing into her own hands. After diving into her blood work Lauren realized that many of the answers were clear if only she knew how to read them. It turned out that she simply needed to interpret the information and charts differently. After spending years self-diagnosing and studying her symptoms, Lauren regained her health and now helps clients determine the root cause of their health issues, in part using her own expertise and experience. Lauren points out some of the key signs to look for when examining your bloodwork and some of the lifestyle changes that you can apply to your everyday life to start feeling good and living life to the fullest. Have you ever experienced waking up tired even after sleeping for 12 hours? Do you constantly feel terrible for no apparent reason? Then you may have chronic fatigue syndrome. If you're trying to figure out what's causing it, there's a simple test you can do. Get out of your house, take a vacation someplace else, and see if you feel better. If you do, it's almost certain that your environment is causing your sickness. Shocking but true! That's exactly what Lauren Nelson experienced, and she's here to share her story.Lauren struggled for years with chronic illness. When she went to several doctors, they said everything “looked normal.” So she took healing into her own hands, went back to school, and learned everything she could about blood work and the emotional side of healing. Her determination and desire to heal led Lauren to become certified as a health consultant, blood work specialist, and MBSR Practitioner. Lauren talks about her journey to uncovering the root cause of her illness and her 3-step healing process to healing it in today's episode of the Beyond the Diagnosis Podcast with Dr. Kylie. If you've been suffering from chronic fatigue or any illness but you've been told that your blood work is normal and you want to know your options to heal completely, this episode is for you!“I'm not going to let anybody–my family, friends, whoever I may come across–go through what I've gone through. So now I work with clients, I work with them to make sure their environment is clear, I assess their blood work, I assess their emotional healing. I think that emotions are 50% of what we go through with illness.”- Lauren NelsonIn This Episode:- Is your house making you sick? About Lauren Nelson Ludwig: Lauren struggled for 16 years with unexplainable autoimmune issues and when she went to the doctor, they said everything “looked normal”, and that maybe she just needed more sleep. She took healing into her own hands, went back to school, and learned everything she could about blood work and the emotional side of healing. This led her to get certified as a health consultant, blood work specialist, and MBSR™ practitioner.Lauren believes that the key to solving patient health concerns lies not only in taking the right lab tests, but knowing how to interpret the results all while releasing stored emotions. In this episode Adam and Lauren discuss:Why you should get your bloodwork checked?Take a look at your environment and get out of the moldLow-grade infectionsEat whole foods. Key Takeaways: It is important to get your blood work checked if you feel like crap even though your bloodwork has always been told that it is "normal". The test involves checking for heavy metals, mold, and other environmental toxins, or checking if you have parasites, all of which can help you discover the root cause of your health problems.People are exposed to mold on a daily basis, so make sure you look at your surroundings as your environment can play a huge role in your health, and get rid of this mold to live a healthier life.Millions of viruses can cause low-grade infections and different health issues, so make sure to have your bloodwork checked - normal doesn't mean optimal.Eat vegetables, fruits, avoid processed foods, and avoid gluten as much as possible. Consider the ingredients in the food you eat, and if you can't pronounce them, don't eat them. "Go through your bloodwork, make sure your vitamin D is good, make sure your iron is good, make sure you don't have any of these low-grade infections. And just by fixing a few of those things, you're going to be feeling like a completely different person.” - Lauren Nelson Ludwig Connect with Lauren Nelson Ludwig:Website: https://www.medellahealing.com/Instagram: http://instagram.com/medellahealingTiktok: http://tiktok.com/medellahealingFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/508975247886721 Connect With Adam Weber:Website: https://meditationnotmedicine.com/about/Email: adam@meditationnotmedicine.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/easytomeditateInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/meditationnotmedicine/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPnbji9rDrCfxhY0W8sHL9ABook: Meditation Not Medicine Show notes by Podcastologist: Angelica Rayco Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. How many times has fear paralyzed you into not taking action? In March 2020, I was paralyzed with fear, and this was before the Covid lockdown. At the same time, I still worked for a company in NYC. Although it seemed, I was hugely successful from the outside; I was terrified that my life did not mean anything beyond my fancy title of Chief Innovation Officer and my work. It was during that time I was reading the book Get Out of Your Own Way by Dave Hollis. When I read this quote, "I am responsible for finding fulfillment in my job, for being happy with what I do, for knowing my value regardless of my title, the company I work for, the salary I make, or the way anyone looks at all of it." I found myself catastrophizing and being all in my feeling. Over the next year, I was laid off and began to redefine my life. I participated in coaching with Dave Hollis and got to learn from him how he redefined his life and its meaning after leaving a successful career with Disney Studios. I have often heard it said, "People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime." I will forever be grateful to Dave Hollis for helping me navigate my story and learn how to deal with my fear and internal dialogue that was not serving me. In this episode, Dan and I begin paying tribute to Dave Hollis, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 11th. Here are other key points from this episode: What did Dave Hollis say to me regarding what legacy he wanted to leave in this world and what I think about the legacy I want to leave behind. How fear fuels our cognitive distortions or the internal mental filters or biases that increase our misery, fuel our anxiety, and make us feel bad about ourselves. We met our guest Lauren Nelson. Lauren wrote a children's book entitled "SHEROES of the Bible," which tells the stories of 26 heroic women from the Bible who pushed past their fears and watched God do miraculous things because of their faith.Lauren says that fear has always been her greatest foe. She was sexually abused as a child, which left her with pronounced fear in her life. Because of her childhood trauma, Lauren has a deep passion and desire to minister to children and women who have been abused. Her book, SHEROES of the Bible, will help women and children conquer their fears and learn to intimately trust God, who loves them and who alone can heal their hearts. You can find Lauren HERE: https://www.laurenlnelson.com/If you want to learn how to overcome fear and the cognitive distortions that prevent us from living fully, download my mindful CEO Journal here:https://www.goconfidentlycoaching.com/quicklinksSupport the showThank you for listening to our podcast. Does God care more about boys than girls? This is the question Lauren's then seven-year-old daughter raised. Not long after, Lauren Nelson would delve into the bible to discover the sheroes that existed and, in return, change the lives of her seven-year-old and many other girls who would find that girls certainly mattered to God. Join us for this interview as she unfolds her story and shares the impact her book, Sheroes of the Bible, has made.

In the previous episode we focused on Kissed By Cancer with Lauren Nelson and Joni Carlson. Today we go into the details of an incredible cancer surviving story with Joni Carlson. Lauren Nelson and Joni Carlson are a mother and daughter team living the Kissed by Cancer mission. After Joni (mother), was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer, we were shocked and scared. We so badly wanted to do treatment and go back to living life as it was before, but we realized that was not what this experience was about to teach us.Lauren and Joni lead a community guided by an optimistic perspective that a diagnosis is a new relationship with life. One that is finding joy in renewed relationships, love, and a refreshed lease on life to honor the body, mind and spirit. Knowing that you, they, them are never going through this alone.Everything around cancer is rightfully negative and overwhelming. However, Lauren and Joni knew to face this they had to change everything from their mindset to nutrition, stress, and everything in between. This doesn't mean that they danced around the pain or ignored the existence of Joni's cancer, it meant that they decided to start embracing living life, in this moment. They took back their power, looking at this journey as it is happening "for us, not to us." No one is promised tomorrow. Today, and everyday, is a special occasion to treat our body and spirit right. Cancer is a terrible and devastating disease, but like attracts like. People need to choose to look at it as a way to love ourselves and others, because love always wins.Find the mission here https://www.kissedbycancer.com/Integrative Cancer Solutions was created to instill hope and empowerment. With the 1825 completion of the Erie Canal, which linked the Great Lakes to the Hudson River and the Atlantic Ocean, maritime traffic in the Great Lakes increased dramatically. As the canal was being completed, Congress appropriated funds for a light station near Fort Gratiot, in the southern portion of Michigan's thumb. When the light station was established at Fort Gratiot in 1825, it was the first light station in the state of Michigan. The original 32-foot-tall tower fell after being damaged in an 1828 storm and it was soon rebuilt, with the new tower first lighted in the spring of 1830. Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, Michigan. USLHS photo. The Coast Guard vacated the light station with the construction of the new Coast Guard Station Port Huron, built in 2004. In 2010 ownership was transferred to St. Clair County Parks and Recreation. With funds from the City of Port Huron and other sources, some restoration work was completed and the light station was opened to the public in 2012. Port Huron Museums operates the site, and the Friends of Fort Gratiot Light also work for the preservation of the lighthouse and other buildings. A recent grant from the Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program will enable St. Clair County Parks and Recreation to hire a consultant to rehabilitate the lighthouse tower's watch room and lantern room. Lauren Nelson's mantra is “Let God's love be greater than your fears.” A mother of two and wife of a pastor, she shares her triumphant story of overcoming years of childhood trauma that had brought fear into her life. She also shares how her life changed when her 7-year-old daughter asked her a profound question about whether God thought boys were more important than girls, as all they learned about in church was about boys. That led Lauren to write a children's book titled Sheroes of the Bible, telling the stories about women whom God used in many ways because of their faith. These stories impact girls of all ages as they learn that God can use them to demonstrate His power and love.Website: www.laurenlnelson.comBook: Sheroes of the Bible

Lauren Nelson is the author of "SHEROES of the Bible," and is passionate about sharing the stories of these heroic women to inspire young and old with the faith to overcome their fears. Lauren understands personally how the power of faith can overcome deeply rooted fear. She was four years old the first time she was kidnapped from her bed in the middle of the night and abused physically, mentally, emotionally, and sexually in satanic worship rituals. The experience was so overwhelming horrific that she repressed the memories for many years, but eventually they resurfaced and the memories filled her with fear. She understands firsthand the power of faith to conquer fear. She has learned that Jesus is stronger than the enemy, and that God loves us and will help us through our trials. Lauren wrote "SHEROES of the Bible" to share the stories of strong women who let God's love be greater than their fears to help encourage each of us to do the same. You can reach Lauren at her website laurenlnelson.com and on Facebook and Instagram at @sheroesofthebible. Many have heard of the remarkable men in scripture but lesser known are the dynamic women who trusted God and did astonishingly courageous things when they chose faith over fear. Fear has always been Laurens greatest foe . She was sexually abused as a child, which formed a spirit of fear in her life that only Jesus could free her from. Because of her childhood trauma, Lauren has a deep passion and desire to minister to children and women who have been abused. Lauren knows that her book, SHEROES of the Bible will help women and children on their journey to conquering their fears and learning to intimately trust their Father in Heaven, who loves them and who alone can heal their hearts. I wholeheartedly endorse Sandra Bankes, Al Loma and Lauren Nelson for Colorado Springs School District 11 School Board. They oppose critical race theory and other divisive teachings and they support parental involvement in education. They will finally do something about the school district failing 85 percent of black students grade 3-6 who are not proficient in math in D11. It is time to focus on results, not funding. Here is my interview with these three remarkable candidates. Please vote for them and spread the word.
"Mom, how come God likes boys more than girls?" Lauren was stunned when her daughter asked her this question. Her daughter's explanation of her question led Lauren on a journey that has shifted the trajectory of her life... to make sure her daughter and other children around the world understand that God does NOT love boys more than girls, he loves them all. Listen in to hear the details of how this came about, learn how the shocking trauma of her childhood has been so turned around by the goodness of a God who heals and redeems, and how that all played into her writing of the book, "Sheroes of the Bible". Morgan sits down with her good friend Lauren Nelson to break down their commonalities and some of the most frequently asked questions they receive as Moms, entrepreneurs, Franchise Partners, career-driven women, and more.Lauren, Franchise Partner of Bethel Park, PA, had been a long-time Burn member before learning of the opportunity to open her own location. She just didn’t see herself as a business owner or think it was possible. She started asking questions - none of which were ever received as silly or inexperienced. The more she learned, the more she could see herself in the shoes of a Franchise Partner. Burn’s mission was her true North throughout the entire opening process, which she trusted completely. In 2015 she found out she was expecting her first child, and by 2016 she had signed on to become Franchise Partner of Bethel Park.Lauren fought the mental battle of feeling torn between her dream of being a SAHM and becoming a business owner. She’s an innate lover of people, a goal-setter, and a team player, which comes from her collegiate athletic background and competitive edge. Throughout the onboarding process, she kept waiting for a sign not to move forward with the business, or a red flag telling her it would take time away from her family - but that flag never waved! To learn more about all of the opportunities waiting on the other side of self-doubt, check out this podcast and Lauren's full story.Enjoy this episode? The problems we face are simply opportunities to make something better. This is the mindset of the entrepreneur. This is the mindset required to create something out of nothing. This is the mindset possessed by Lauren Nelson. Only a few months ago, Lauren noticed that there should be a better way to align willing volunteers and donors with organizations in need of their support. So, she did something about it. She saw the opportunity from the problem and created something better. The product of her imagination and hard work is Roar Philanthropy—a Milwaukee-based organization on a mission to make volunteering an easy, accessible, diverse and enjoyable experience while providing Metro-Milwaukee nonprofits and organizations with respectful, optimistic, accepting and reliable volunteers and donors. The idea may have came to her in a flash, but, as you'll learn, Lauren's life had been steadily building to this moment. ++ For more on Roar Philanthropy and to see how you can get involved, visit roarphilanthropy.org! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/helium-books/support

Riding Shotgun With Charlie #076 Lauren Nelson This what one of the things I love about the 2A community is how easily we connect with others. I met Patrick Collins in Phoenix. He was able to connect me to Lauren Nelson when I asked about finding someone in Vermont to be on the show. I met Lauren and we headed to her local gun shop in Wells River, VT, called Gateway Sports. They have a nice little shop that was recently redone inside. While we were there, the store was busy with people looking to trade in some handguns, buying new handguns for some women, and even a few people with their young kids. Lauren shares a story about trading in a pink BB gun to buy her first gun at Gateway, too. Lauren grew up south of Boston in a non-gun household. She became interested in getting a handgun after she was married. Her husband is mostly into long guns. Since they live in Vermont, they have their own range on their farm. They mostly shoot outdoors and usually in fair weather. We get into how Vermont is a unique state politically. There are residents on both sides of the aisle and it keeps the state on top of things. Vermont has been the longest state with constitutional carry. As a matter of fact, we used to call it Vermont style carry before it was constitutional carry. We also spend time talking about how the laws vary from state to state and how it affects small New England states more than some larger states in the west. We also talk about the 80% lowers and the story that was on one of the major networks. I’ve got a story about an “Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself” 80% lower that I may have. And there’s a photo of my friend’s “Murder Hornet” AR style. We finish up talking about the looks that people get when they stereotype people. Whether they are gun owners or motorcyclists, we’re all good folks that are doing something we enjoy. Even if it takes us to Vegas for the SHOT Show, the kitchen and bath show, or the AVN awards, all in the same week. Thanks to Patrick Collins for connecting us! Favorite quotes: “I bought it because it was cute” “I went to my first gun show a few years ago. It was like a flea market or craft fair for guns” “I’m pretty lucky that I moved to a state that when I decided to own a gun I could just go in with my squeaky clean record and buy one” “We don’t shot for the month of May, until the ground gets tilled. We don’t shoot because of the manure issue” “Respectful gun owners and hunters are a good thing” “There’s no cell service. There’s nothing. There’s moose, then you come into the downtown area” “If you want to own a gun, you should have the right to do so, if you’re not a felon and you pass a background check” CBS Story from 60 Minutes about ghost guns https://www.cbs.com/shows/60_minutes/video/mgn3I4VK0t0JgbzEBMyz43XS6LWpBSL5/how-build-it-yourself-firearms-skirt-most-federal-gun-laws/ To get a face-mask from A Girl & A Gun, please visit their website. https://www.agirlandagun.org/category/store/ Please support the Riding Shotgun With Charlie sponsors and supporters. COVID-19 is making life harder for people around the world, including for women with unexpected pregnancies and children in unsafe homes. But they also share how the Holy Spirit is moving.
How often do the needs of orphaned children around the world come to your mind? Patrick and Lauren Nelson are dedicating their lives to the needs of these orphans by rescuing them from sex trafficking and helping them with trauma and healing. As the parents of two young sons, the Nelsons live in Dallas but travel to Haiti several times each year through work with their non-profit, I’m Me, which began in 2012. In this episode, Patrick and Lauren explain how the seed of compassion for Haiti was first planted, and how they felt God’s calling as an “assignment” for their lives. They explain the differences they see in people’s lives when Jesus is encountered and how they are challenging the Enemy’s stronghold over the country of Haiti and its people. The Nelsons share how they’ve learned humility through the trying circumstances of hitting rock bottom and finally handing everything over to the Lord. Patrick and Lauren tell about the coffee business and leather goods that they are using to help the kids in Haiti, and how you can get involved and help support their endeavors. The Nelsons wrap up our conversation by giving their advice about facing trials, obstacles, and having really big dreams in your work for Jesus. Maneater is Dan Awng, Lindsay Stewart and Lauren Nelson. They played a live, somewhat unplugged set in the CiTR lounge back in February, (shoutout to the crowd of students that gathered :) They talk about Hell, which man they would actually eat and how, writing pop songs with sadness, and how they're a good band, not an evil band (with the exception of Dan).
In this episode of the ARCHITECHT Show, IBM Cloud general manager Don Boulia and Forrester analyst Lauren Nelson share their insights into how enterprises and mainstream companies are adopting technologies such as cloud computing, containers and artificial intelligence. I suspect that it is a nearly UNIVERSAL problem faced by new mothers: when do I find time to pray? Many of us had pretty good prayer lives before that first baby arrived. We had a routine and a set time that we prayed. Perhaps we had adoration hours or a nightly routine that involved prayer. And, if you are like me, you had no idea that having a baby would change everything, including prayer. But then the baby arrived and somewhere amid learning to breastfeed and sleep loss and becoming a mother our prayer life died. This is pretty much exactly what happened to me. In fact, it has taken me YEARS to figure out that as a mother prayer will just be different. Sure, I would love to enjoy hours of quiet, solitary prayer, but that just isn't going to happen now. Maybe at some point in the future, maybe from time to time, but not reliably now. Because of this all I am THRILLED to share the wisdom of Lauren Nelson on the podcast. Lauren is the Momma behind GATHERING MANNA, a new site for Catholic women struggling to pray amid the demands of life and motherhood. And Lauren's answer to this struggle is rather simple. WE NEED TO RETHINK PRAYER. Prayer does not have to be something that fits into a specific pocket of time. Prayer does not have to be an entire rosary or full hour of scriptural meditation. Sure, those things are awesome, but they are not the only way to pray. And, most importantly, prayer will never be something we "master" or something we graduate from. The more we pray the more we will want to pray and the closer we get to God, the more we will want to be with Him and share with Him. Prayer can simply be the rhythm of our lives. And, prayer is, at it's core, little more than a returning to the Lord, a glance, a thought, a look toward heaven. An acknowledgement that He is gazing lovingly at us at all time. So, go listen in. Her wisdom will change with way you think about prayer. And, make sure to connect with Lauren over on her new site, Gathering Manna (launching the end of January). Until then, go join the conversation on her Facebook page. A BIG thanks to Lauren--and thanks to all of you wonderful ladies! Branding and Marketing Your Podcast: Lauren Nelson Interview Today on episode 543 we talk with fellow podcast Lauren Nelson who is the Marketing Manager for Crowdspring.com She produce the audio drama podcast "The Box" and share her insights on how podcasts ban boost their marketing efforts to stand out. Realize there are no rules to podcast. For Lauren she takes as much as she needs to tell her story, and that's it. Your iTunes artwork is your first impression, have someone who is a graphic person create yours. Consistency can boost your brand by never missing an episode, or by announcing (if you take a break) your planned absence. People may want t-shirts, mugs and other "Swag" items, so keep this in mind when making your artwork. The Apple company broke the rules in their advertisements (so have companies like All Spice) Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Blue Yeti - A Hands On Review The Blue Yeti is quoted WAY TOO MUCH as a great podcast microphone. It is a condensor microphone, and if not used properly can make really bad sounding recordings. It can pick up what is right in front of it, what is behind it, or everything around it. You want to "Cardoid" setting for your best recording of a solo podcaster. To avoid sounding like you’re in a tunnel you need to turn the gain down, and get close the the microphone. When you do this, you will have what most people call “popping p’s” when you say worse that start with P’s, B’s, H’s, etc as the from your mouth goes into the microphone. The solution is to purchase a pop filter. Due to it’s unique size you need a specialized pop filter. You can purchase the Blue Pop Filter for $59, or you can grab a perfectly good one for $22 from Auphonix . The other thing you need is a shock mount. The reason for this is ANY touching of the desk that the Yeti is sitting on will pick up the vibrations. So you can purchase the shock mount from Blue for $56, or this one from for Auphonix for $30. So the price of a Yeti goes from $89 to somewhere between to $$141 to 204. The shock mount is going to need a stand so I recommend either the Rode PSA1 ($99) or the Heil PL-2T ($130) This is why the Audio Technica ATR2100 is the Best Podcasting Microphone NOT the Blue yeti. The Audio Technica us a dynamic microphone (which means it will pick up less noise than the yet) While the stand that comes with the ATR2100 is very simple, it will pick up less thumping (but I would still recommend a shock mount. This unit is a shock mount and pop filter in one for $9. Because its more of a “traditional” microphone you are a little more open to pop filters and shock mounts. The ATR2100 works via USB and XLR ( can work with a mixer) so if you’re flying solo, or need to plug into a mixer you’re good to go. So to get the same features you would need a Blue Yeti ($199), Pop Filter ($22), Shock Mount ($30), so would be out $251. Where is the ATR2100 is $77, the pop filter shock mount is $9, so you would be out around $86.
