HAVEN / Beat The Street Inc. is a non-profit organization that is designed to assist all categories of people in need ie. homeless families, singles, the impoverished. Focusing on solutions such as rental assistance and subsides, utility assistance (not cable), transportation, emergency shelter, nutritious food, information and referral (INR). We are the last option but often the first solution. Our faith is the reason for our existence Matthew 25:31-38 To remember that we can always do something for a person in need. We never run out of options because there is always a solution. It just may take time to find and/or create. To always seek God for help in our efforts and to treat those we serve as if they were our Lord Himself. We are working toward securing a site to work with people in Ocean and Atlantic County and to develop a shelter system. Ocean County at present has a total of 25 shelter beds with a census of over 500 homeless in need of shelter each and every day. Our hope is to overcome the public sentiment of, Not in my back yard, to a front yard experience in which the homeless are helped visibly, immediately and provided with a safe warm place with a roof and four walls. What We Need We need the cooperation of each locale’s citizenry, its government and its society. Once we establish our community connections the next major need is funding to be cultivated, secured, to create projects that become solutions to the homeless condition of every individual. No more than 12% of donations will be spent on non direct services of those we serve. Thank you for considering us to partner with you to be your homeless advocates and missionaries in Ocean County, Monmouth County and Atlantic County. Help us help the homeless take back their lives. Donations are tax deductible. No more than 10 percent will be used for overhead We are dedicated to helping the Least of our brothers and sisters. in and out of Christ. The bible says we are the salt of the earth what good is it if we lose our saltness? Can we be made salty again. Carolyn Coburn, along with her daughter Megan, started Spread the Love Foundation after losing Sami Coburn in 2014. Sami was 19 years old when she took her life. A year after her tragic and stunning death, Carolyn and Megan decided it was time to honor Sami's life by promoting character education and raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of mental illness as well as the warning signs for suicide. It is their goal to end the stigma of mental illness, so that more children can get the treatment they so desperately need, while spreading love, understanding, empathy and compassion in schools. info.spreadthelove@gmail.com www.spreadthelovefoundation.com
My name is Jeanette Suros, I’m 7 Years in Recovery from Anorexia Nervosa. I work as a Co-Leader for Project Heal NJ Chapter, National Advocate Speaker for The National Eating Disorders Association. An Author, A photographer, A Writer for NEDA, Training to be a Yoga Instructor/Therapist for kids through adults. As well as Recovery Yoga. Finishing school for Social Work to be a therapist specializing in Eating Disorders. I have always been a gymnast. We are put in pressure to be what society says we should be. I wanted to fit in more than anything because I know I was different and I didn’t want to be different. My real self was, A child who loved to be in nature and looked at nature as my home. I loved listening to The Beatles and Stevie Nicks. But that is not what was in as a kid in the 90’s and early 2000’s. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child because of how hyper I was and couldn’t focus. At five years old I was comparing myself to others. Age 10 I began looking up diets and took my gymnastics from a love to a job. I began over exercising and restricting food. I felt good doing this and told myself to be a better gymnast I had to be thin, to get people to like me I must be thin and have the perfect body because all those other girls have perfect bodies. I would be accepted from friends and family. So, I went full out on these restricting and over exercising behaviors. It wasn’t until I began passing out in high school, being diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa. I continued with the behaviors and my weight was what a little child would be that led me to a heart attack at 17. Eating disorders are not about the food and weight it is what we use to cope and numb ourselves. We feel we can’t control what’s happening around us but we can control food and weight. I am here to show others that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am NOT my eating disorder. I told myself that every day as I began my journey really into recovery. We are human, but no matter what happened in the past its time to let it go and we don’t know the future yet, so what we are left with is now. What we do today is what will contribute to how we shape our future. We have the answers deep within us but until we remove what no longer serves us we won’t be able to reach them. With eating disorders our issues only get worse because our bodies are not being taken care of. We miss out on so much and enough is enough. Let’s all stand together and support health bodies, love ourselves for who we are, treat our bodies right so we can enjoy all the great things in life and learn from all the struggles for they make us stronger. Too many lives have been taken from this terrible disease so let’s put an end to eating disorders together. It is amazing and free to be able count the number of years in recovery than the number of calories or the numbers on the scale. There is a light for each darkness and like a lotus flower we too can rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world. This is not saying that following what I am saying will bring you rainbows and sunshine’s every day or that no issues will arise, but what this will help you with, is to keep these words in mind and remember that you are strong enough to get through anything. You are here today and you are here for a reason. You matter and recovery is possible. It is not easy and some days will feel as if it is impossible but if you can remember one word or one sentence to take with you to help get through please do. We all are enough and have an importance in this world, there is only one you and that is powerful. jeanettemarie29@yahoo.com https://www.facebook.com/jeanette.marie.100 Instagram: jeanettemarie827

Who is G Diesel? Greg Santarsiero is an artist, author and filmmaker. A husband, father and only son. Born in the working-class confines of Scranton, Pennsylvania and raised in Brigantine, New Jersey, Santarsiero was nurtured by two loving parents with a passion for the creative arts, athletics, history and politics. Falling in love with hip-hop music, fashion and training as a young man, Santarsiero turned an obsession with the practice and dedication necessary to becoming a standout ballplayer into a lifelong commitment to the weights—a permanent part of his daily lifestyle since the age of fifteen. Penning multiple feature lengths scripts before moving to short-format prose starting in his late teens while an English Literature major at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, his writing eventually garnered him an underground following under the pseudonym “G Diesel” where he has covered all topics from inspiration, aspiration, spirituality and social justice to the nuts and bolts details of weight training and bodybuilding nutrition. This ability afforded him an opportunity to get his foot in the door with one of the premier companies in the sports nutrition industry where he enjoyed a long and productive tenure as a marketing jack-of-all-trades, content creator, and eventually, brand director. Always finding time in his complicated life to pursue his dreams, Santarsiero combined his passions for rap music, street fashion, the written word and the iron into an anti-establishment lifestyle brand known to a select few as #GoHard. His exploits with #GoHard included dozens of limited-edition clothing drops, re-fashioning vintage garments and eventually yielded “The G Code” series of motivational books, sub-titled “Lessons for Living an Extraordinary Life in the Real World.” The ambition and vision behind #GoHard opened the doors for Santarsiero to pursue a lifelong dream, building from the ground up and being at the helm of his own lifestyle and supplement brand—GCode Nutrition. G is the father to four beautiful daughters and two dogs, and husband to his muse and confidante, Tara. They have been together for seventeen years and live a stone’s throw from the Garden State Parkway near the Central Jersey Shore. gcodenutrition.com Instagram @gcodenutrition facebook.com/gcodenutrition
**Watch the video live on here --> https://youtu.be/atpLeIIwfhs From birth Connor loved the water, it soothed him, drew him in and was always his happy place. At 10 months the instructor of his swim school said he had never seen a kid so comfortable underwater. At 5 years old a rare underwater encounter with an endangered Monk seal in Kauai lead him to start his extensive beach clean ups. He was invited to meet the only monk seal in captivity at University of California Santa Cruz for his efforts in helping to protect them. Connor has volunteered at countless ocean, beach and outdoor clean ups, gaining him the nickname 'The MicroActivist'. His deep love of the underwater world grew and he earned his Jr. Open Water Scuba Certification exactly 2 days after he turned 10 (yes 10 was the minimum age requirement). With his new certification card he set out to dive as much as possible and has dove in Southern California, Catalina island, Monterey Bay, Hawaii, Curacao and Florida. He as dreams of being the youngest to dive all 7 continents. At age 10 Connor started volunteering in underwater ocean clean ups and has participated in underwater clean ups in Dana Point and Catalina. In 2017 Connor fulfilled his dream of visiting the depths in a submarine. He went to 1000 ft in a submarine off of Curacao (South America) and was able to participate in ongoing shark research. Connor is actively producing and directing his own series of educational films, coined "micro-movies", aimed at inspiring other kids to join the movement to protect our oceans most valuable critters. Aquarium of the Pacific has awarded Connor with the "Youth Hero of the Year Award' and will present it to him in April 2017 for his ongoing efforts at ocean conservation. In March 2017 Connor organized his first all kids 'MicroActivist Team' beach clean up and it was a huge success. The kids did a massive beach clean up and all left inspired to do more! Connor is actively working on setting up numerous kids beach clean ups this year! Connor http://www.microactivist.org/ https://youtu.be/atpLeIIwfhs

My name is Leroy Edwards III. I was born and raised in Vineland, NJ and still reside there. I came from a good family and I never lacked anything. I got plenty of Love, nice clothes, roof over my head, and plenty of toys and friends. My mother was the center of my world, but I can't say the same for my father who wasn't around that frequent. It never really bothered me that I didn't see him much, because I knew he had a decent heart. It wasnt until I was 21 and watched him die of an overdose that i discovered he had a great heart. Both him and my grandfather had issues with drugs that I had no knowledge of until they were both dead. It's funny how I can stop the lineage of one addiction, but start up a whole new one. Even though drug addiction is a big deal, pornography addiction can be just as destructive in other parts of your life. Even though porn couldn't physically kill, it could kill relationships, it could kill the proper way to perceive women, it could kill tons of precious time to spend on other things and people, and it could even kill what love making should really be about. It was always a hard battle for me, and it wasn't until I found God that I started fighting back. I became a new man, on a new mission and havent stopped chasing after God since then. Every year millions of animals are euthanized throughout the United States. Majority of them are euthanized because of lack of homes, having special needs or old age. It is especially difficult to find homes for unwanted farm animals. There are very few places in the country that are able to take in and take care for these animals.Funny Farm Rescue an Animal Sanctuary has created a home for unwanted farm animals, domesticated animals and animals with special needs to live out their natural lives. The Funny Farm Rescue is a nonprofit, 501(c)( 3) charity. We are personally and professionally committed to the well being of abused and abandoned animals. Dean Mitzel has been in the entrepreneurial game for 18 plus years. A former employee for the greater part of his early life he was introduced to “Network Marketing." He was intrigued at the aspect of working harder then he ever did for 5 years to achieve a six figure “Monthly” income. Through a number of company transitions and the eventual collaboration with a master sales and marketing trainer, he assisted with coordination and organization of training seminar events. Dean worked directly with thousands of Direct Sales and Network marketing professionals including some of the top marketers and speakers in the industry including Robert Butwin, Jim Rohn, Jerry Clark, Mark Victor Hansen, John Assaraf, and Dr. Joe Dispenza to name a few. By utilizing what he has gained from his 18 year career in the Direct sales and marketing industry, Dean has become a master at building rapport, creating quality connections, consistent action, the enrollment process, and most importantly, why people do what they do, why they don’t do what they want to be doing. His coaching in these areas as well as utilizing multiple technologies to enhance efficiency in business makes him an invaluable asset as a life and business coach.

In 2013, biologist Dr. Brian Hooker received a call from a Senior Scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who led the agency’s 2004 study on the Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccine and its link to autism. The scientist, Dr. William Thompson, confessed that the CDC had omitted crucial data in their final report that revealed a causal relationship between the MMR vaccine and autism. Over several months, Dr. Hooker records the phone calls made to him by Dr. Thompson who provides the confidential data destroyed by his colleagues at the CDC. Dr. Hooker enlists the help of Dr. Andrew Wakefield, the British gastroenterologist falsely accused of starting the anti-vax movement when he first reported in 1998 that the MMR vaccine may cause autism. In his ongoing effort to advocate for children’s health, Wakefield directs this documentary examining the evidence behind an appalling cover-up committed by the government agency charged with protecting the health of American citizens. Interviews with pharmaceutical insiders, doctors, politicians, and parents of vaccine-injured children reveal an alarming deception that has contributed to the skyrocketing increase of autism and potentially the most catastrophic epidemic of our lifetime. http://vaxxedthemovie.com
Every magician has a story about how they learned their first trick, well Chad's story is quite unique but in a very magical way... In 1991, at the age of three, Chad was diagnosed with leukemia. In 1995, at the age of seven, he relapsed. He needed a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of friends, family, and his medical team, no match was found. As a result, doctors decided to try an experimental protocol. For the next 17 months Chad lived as an inpatient in the cancer ward of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. There, he fought the good fight, which included having to learn how to walk and talk again because of the devastating side effects of the drugs that were intended to cure him. Tubes were attached to him so he could breathe and eat. Through the ordeal, he underwent numerous surgeries and multiple blood transfusions. He went from a 80% chance of survival to under 5%. While he was bravely fighting the battle, his father would use magic to distract Chad from the fear and pain he was enduring. While receiving his treatments, Chad would lie in his hospital bed and practice making magic for hours a day. Each week his dad would teach him new tricks to master. In 1998, at long last, Chad was released from the hospital. That same year, Chad's dad collapsed and was subsequently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. A respected dentist and local tennis champion, Chad's dad Don deteriorated quickly. In a matter of a few months, he became a three month old trapped in a 41-year-old body. Don died on January 17, 2000, leaving behind Penny, his wife, and his children, Faith and Chad. Chad is an international performer who lectures across the world. He spreads his magical message to children's hospitals, foundations, corporate events and more. Chad has dedicated himself to perfecting his act: the legacy his dad had left him. Chad has taken his act as far as Aruba, where he was invited numerous times by the Prime Minister to perform for under privileged families of his island. Chad is also the youngest magician ever to perform at The White House by special invitation of President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush. Chad has been featured on the hit TV Show Criss Angel "Mindfreak on the A&E network and appeared on the show Dinner Impossible on the Food Network. Chad has also performed at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. Chad is the founder of the Spread the Magic Foundation, a nonprofit corporation that performs magic to raise money for pediatric cancer patients. To this day Chad continues to add the abracadabra to all our lives, as his dad did for him, in the hopes that everyone can find the magic in their lives as he did. http://www.chadjuros.com

A graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Khoran Horn has always had a passion for the art of food. Being raised a pescetarian and wanting to show people a way to lengthen their life and enjoy themselves while doing it. On a trip the Santa Monica, California, Khoran was introduced to cold-pressed juice and felt his home city of Philadelphia deserved to reap the benefits. Since that trip, Khoran has worked tirelessly on developing a company that can be recognized by its care of ingredients, branding, and most importantly the product. I was separated from my parents at the tender age of four years old as we ran for safety during the civil war that took place in 1989 in my home country, Liberia, Africa. I found myself at a refugee camp; hungry, lost and scared with no idea if my parents survived or not. I was on my own and had to take my survival into my own hands – and, of course, God’s hands. I was often starving and not knowing from where my next meal would come. I remember when I had to walk from my country, Liberia, to Sierra Leone Freetown Board Waterside and didn’t eat for weeks during that time. This nightmare of being “orphaned” lasted for about ten years before I was reunited with my mother. I am the only one in my family to graduate from high school (Absegami High School) and go on to graduate from college (The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey). Most recently, I was selected among hundreds of applicants to participate in the LEADACT (Lead Atlantic City Tomorrow) Program offered through a partnership between the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) and the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. After completing the strenuous, one-year curriculum, I proudly graduated this past July (2013). Since I’ve been in the States I’ve continued to serve others. While a student at Stockton College, I served as the Recruitment Chairman of the Men Achieving Leadership Excellence and Success (M.A.L.E.S) Program and as Secretary of Marketing for the Hospitality Management Society which raised money for orphans and widowed families. Because of continued service to others, my family looks up to me and expects me to do well to support our family and other families. It was a blessing that I had the opportunity to come to America to have a better life. As a foreigner who became an American citizen, my life experiences have helped me personally and professionally. Against all odds, I’ve overcome many obstacles and I believe with all my heart that there is a reason I’ve done so. Even though I now have a better life, I just can’t forget the circumstances from which I’ve come. The country endured two terrible civil wars since 1989 to 2003, with approximately 250,000 people killed. There is definitely a reason that I survived… I survived so that hope could be given to others in similar situations. I got hope from having faith, praying and hearing motivational songs. I simply have to give back and give Hope for Liberia. Please help me to give them hope… Please make all checks payable to Hope for Liberia, Hope-for-Liberia P.O. MATT STOKES - Lead Pastor THE FACTS: In 2003, Matt Stokes and his wife Laura left Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia to teach a Bible study in a small sandwich shop in downtown Ocean City. Today, that ministry is called Coastal Christian Ocean City. A graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University (Cairn University), Matt’s vision is to educate, equip and empower believers to reach the lost and make disciples, and connect our communities to Christ. Pastor Matt places a strong emphasis on applying the Scriptures to everyday life. THE HARD QUESTIONS: 1. My favorite bible character is: Samuel. He has no history of miracles or profound pontifications. It was his relationship with God and his integrity that changed the nation! Trademark saying: "…and as we begin to close… and as we close… and I’ll close with this… and with that, I’m in.” 2. No one knows I still: No one knows I still… am quite introverted. Best advice I could give a young person: One of the most precious gifts you could give to God… is your youth. 3. My childhood ambition was: to break all of the athletic records in my elementary gym classes. 4. My favorite food is: filet mignon topped with fresh lump crabmeat and a crumbled blue cheese drizzle. 5. My life verse is: Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." 6. My favorite hobby is: playing guitar/piano. 7. My favorite verse: Revelations 5:13 "And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: "Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever." 8. My biggest challenge is: being still. 9. A transforming experience was: the birth of COASTAL. https://www.facebook.com/ccoceancity/ http://www.coastalchristianoc.com https://twitter.com/ccoceancity
Synopsis Jesse Dean is a recently discharged soldier who had a rough upbringing, but because of his wife, found God and now is totally devoted to his faith. He and wife move to Philadelphia so he can take a new job as an outreach leader at an old church whose membership has been declining. As everything is going well and as he starts connecting to the community, he discovers there's an abortion clinic directly across the street from the church. He goes to the pastor and to several others in the church and tries to get their help to no avail. One day something tragic and personal happens to him while he's going about his everyday routine. He comes to the point that he begins to take action himself. He gets involved but the more involved he gets, the more resistance he gets from those in church and community. His wife, who thinks his actions will get him fired or land him in jail, also comes against him. Finally, it comes down to him having to make a choice: is he going to take the easy way out and back off, which is what everyone wants him to do, or will he face a major confrontation which will require him to put everything on the line…not just his job, but his freedom and marriage as well. This film encourages people to stand up for what they know is right, particularly as it pertains to taking God's truths into society to address social issues. It addresses the spirit of retreat as it pertains to engaging the culture that has developed within the Church. http://voicelessthemovie.com

Dr. Neubrander received his Doctorate of Medicine from Loma Linda University in 1975 and is Board Certified in Environmental Medicine. He is the medical director to both the Road to Recovery Clinic and the Hyperbaric Treatment Center of Iselin, NJ. He is a scientific advisor to several organizations and is a well-known speaker nationally and internationally. Since the mid 90s he has treated thousands of children on the autism spectrum and is known as the Father of Methyl-B12 due to his discovery in 2002 that the methyl form of the cobalamin molecule is a critical component found to be less than adequate in the brain of children with autism. Since 2002, Dr. Neubrander has personally been responsible for prescribing and monitoring well over one million methyl-B12 injections. Today the use of methylcobalamin for children with autism has spanned the globe and tens of thousands of children have been helped by its use. Many of these children have reached full recovery or near full recovery when using methyl-B12 long-term in combination with other biomedical treatments like diet, supplements, healing the gastrointestinal tract, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, mitochondrial support, treating the immune and autoimmune systems including allergies, and following the principles necessary for the children to live in a cleaner, nontoxic environment which may include detoxification therapies if indicated by laboratory testing. In addition to his discovery of methylcobalamin's powerful role for children with autism, Dr. Neubrander has also treated over 700 autistic children with hyperbaric oxygen using both low pressure, low oxygen concentrations from portable hyperbaric units as well as high pressure, 100% oxygen concentrations from standard units similar to the units found in hospitals and clinics around the world. http://drneubrander.com
Hearts of Surfing is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides free surfing, skateboarding, yoga and more for families with autism and other special needs. We began in June of 2014 with a small group and have grown exponentially! Heart of Surfing runs on love and connects to the heart of the community. Volunteers are the heartbeat of the organization and make it all possible. The only paid employees of the organization are individuals with disabilities themselves. We developed a leadership program in which teens and adults with autism can work for Heart of Surfing, capitalizing on their skills and passions. For example, we employ a 22 y.o. young man with autism that loves videography. He films our events, edits and uploads videos on YouTube. Another young man with autism runs a snack stand business at our events. Heart of Surfing focuses on participants' capabilities and possibilities. We empower, encourage and assist participants to do things many thought were impossible.❤ https://www.facebook.com/heartofsurfing/
The youngest of three children, I was a little bit of a rebel; but, LOVED my family. My family is my world; for every step I took, they ALL, took a step with me. Growing up in a big Italian family our life was surrounded with food, family and friends and so much love. Wanting to do things on my term, I traveled a lot, went to my own beat and didn't marry until I was 27....back in the day that was considered very old! The person I married was someone I knew since middle school. I got pregnant right away and from the onset of my pregnancy, there were many complications. Through all of this, my husband blamed me, he literally said, "What did you do? You are the reason for this." From that point forward, I knew I no longer had a marriage and my only focus was on my baby. Ultra sound after weekly ultra sound, the doctors concern grew more desperate. My baby's head was growing for my gestation and they could not tell me why. No one had an answer for me. My baby, Tina, was born C-section four-weeks early on August 9, 1991 she was 4lbs and 1ounce and 15" long, olive skin and a head full of thick black hair....she was absolutely beautiful. Immediately Tina was taken to NCIU....around 10pm, the Neurologist came in and told me that Tina's head circumference was only 28" which was not good. They would begin testing, head scans tomorrow and then he said to me, "Ann Marie, love her for as long as you have her." Alone, scared, I just laid there and cried and cried. The next morning I was brought upstairs to be with Tina, the doctors (all of them) Neurologist, Cardiologist, Endocrinologist and every other "gist" came to talk with me, telling me that their concerns were, failure to thrive, her soft spot was the size of pin head and her skull had fused. Dazed, I knew my fight for Tina began that moment. After all the doctor appointments, tests, scans, xrays her prognosis was Microcephaly with Global Developmental Delays. No cures, no fixes just adjustments. My adjustments included removing the word "can't" when it came to Tina. She struggled with everything, school, social queues and life; however, she is the most beautiful young girl who lives life on her terms. She holds a part-time job and she is doing great! As for me, I divorced my husband, went back to school to complete my Master's and my life's work is about empowering all people who need to be heard. I love me, my children and my life. I couldn't be in a happier place.
Tom and Polly Ellison were born and raised in South Jersey. They have been married fourteen years. Tom and Polly have a handsome eleven year old son named Tommy, and Polly has a beautiful daughter named Amanda. Tom and Polly met training in martial arts where Tom was an instructor. They currently reside in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Tom is a retired police officer and now works as a union carpenter. Polly is a homemaker, where she volunteers much of her time serving various benevolent organizations. Tom and Polly are also co-founders and managing partners of an international supplement company. They are strong Christians, who are very passionate about their faith in God. They truly believe their son Tommy is a miracle, and living proof of what the devil intended for harm, God is using for His good by helping the countless number of parents who are searching for answers and struggling to find hope for the many of children diagnosed on the autism spectrum. The Ellisons journey into autism started in 2006, when their son, Tommy, was diagnosed when he was two years of age. “Tommy became fixated on the wheels of toy cars, and would scoot around the perimeter of a room for hours on end. Shortly thereafter, he began losing words he had acquired, stopped making eye contact, and became unresponsive to his name. Tommy also showed no interest in socializing with other children. He regressed before our eyes. His pediatric neurologist bluntly informed us that there was no cure. We were told that Tommy might not speak, would have to be in a special education system, and might even need to be institutionalized.”, says the Ellisons. Believing that there was more to Tommy’s diagnosis, the Ellisons sought answers of their own: “We thought diet and nutrition might help improve Tommy’s symptoms, but we understood that we needed more help, so we began researching physicians who were treating autism with biomedical alternatives.” Their search led them to contact Dr. James Neubrander, who holds the position of medical director or scientific advisor with at least a half-dozen national and international centers and organizations dedicated to research and treatment of autism spectrum and related disorders. “Dr. Neubrander helped fully recover Tommy through safe and effective protocols. Within six weeks, we saw life start to come back into our son’s eyes, right in front of us. It sounds like something you’d only see in a movie, but our miracle is reality. Tommy is living testimony!”, stated the Ellisons. Today, Tommy is mainstreamed in a private Christian fifth grade classroom, and has maintained honor roll status since kindergarten. He plays the baritone for his school’s music program and was recently selected to the junior honor band. Tommy is a blue belt in karate and loves to compete in, wrestling, basketball, and soccer. He has been featured on CBS News and in a nationally syndicated documentary entitled Decoding Autism. The Ellisons stated, “Tommy is completely indistinguishable from his peers, thanks to Dr. Neubrander and his alternative mindset.” To that end, the Ellisons have become involved with Generation Rescue, a non-profit movement of scientists, parents and physicians dedicated to researching causes and treatments for autism. As “Rescue Angels” for Generation Rescue, the Ellisons have become one of a group of parents who have recovered their own children or are currently treating them biomedically. To date, the Ellisons have mentored some forty plus families going through the autism recovery process. http://www.drneubrander.com Dr. Neubrander 732-726-1222
Shari was brought into this world by an Episcopalian mother and a father of Hindu lineage. Shari could not only walk at 6 months, but was also in her parents native country, Guyana, South America to visit. Fortunately and unfortunately (to say the least), Shari was forced into the role of an adult from a young age. To give an example of this: At the age of 7, she asked her father if he would stop drinking on Easter. Little did she know, this was not the only battle she would have to conquer. Her father’s addiction lasted through out his life time. Even though Shari herself did not suffer from addiction, she understands the pain brought on by witnessing her father’s ups and downs on the emotional merry go round. There is a pain like no other when you witness your loved ones struggle with their own pain. It’s also frustrating when your means to help cannot be heard or received, but at the end of the day, you are the one having anxiety ridden dreams of when your loved one will be found deceased. She understands what it feels like to worry if her father would be found deceased on the kitchen floor. She remembers the cops becoming regulars. She remembers what it was like to be bullied during some of her most tumultuous times growing up. She understands what it’s like to be awake all night because her father was going through a schizophrenic episode. She remembers what it was like searching for him on the street. She remembers what it was like spending her Valentine’s day in the psychiatric part of the hospital to visit him. Much of what Shari has experienced growing up is what brings her to the understanding and compassion she has. Her compassion comes from knowing great pain. This story is about a human seeing destruction and chaos all of her life, and truly understanding where it comes from. This would help her conquer a never ending cycle. For a long time, she could smile because she was 6 feet above ground, and didn’t trust a soul to open up to. She understands not everyone has the credentials, compassion or even the awareness. There was a time when even her closest of friends didn’t know her ins and outs. By sharing her story, it’s a way of saying she owns her world. She expresses the internal to have control on the external. She has gotten to a point where meditation has helped her understand, “You let the outside control the inside.” (This is a line found in one of her poems “The Voice That Picked Up My Ears” published by Phantom Bill Stickers in New Zealand.) www.sharispeaks.com https://www.facebook.com/shari.sanahi?fref=ts

I am one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan," a name given to over 20,000 boys of the Nuer and Dinka ethnic groups who were displaced and/or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War (1983–2005), a war in which 2.5 million people were killed or displaced. I am originally from Bor, in a small village in South Sudan. In 1987 when I was six years old, my village was attacked by an insurgent group from North Sudan, led by Omar al-Bashir. The attack left the majority of people dead and many were dispersed. Huts and livestock were burned. I still recall the sound of the gunshots and the screams of the people begging for help. This was the first time in my life that I experienced and understood the meaning of fear. I was young, confused and scared. This was also the moment that separated me from my family for a few hours, which has turned into two decades. I remember thinking that I would return home once the attackers left. Unfortunately home is still a far off place. I fled my village and thus began my journey as a refugee. Through all these painful moments in life, I knew that someday I would find happiness. Indeed, my past is what has kept me going in life. It is when I look at what I have overcome to get here that I most clearly see my future. I have been fortunate to realize some of my dreams. When I came to the United States in 2000, I attended North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA, where I graduated. I then got accepted to Temple University and graduated in 2008. In May 2011, I graduated with my master's in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from Arcadia University. Currently, I recently graduated with my second master degree at Cornell University in MPA in Economics and Financial policy. I have truly been motivated by the challenges and hardships I endured when I fled Sudan because of civil war. https://www.facebook.com/aajok?pnref=story

Barbara Rando Marsini is an active South Jersey mother of five. She runs a thriving professional cleaning business servicing multi-million dollar beachfront homes at the shore. She enjoys exercising daily, dancing, walking the beach and shell collecting. Diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse during her second pregnancy in 1982, Marsini began experiencing fatigue and shortness of breath that, by 1996, had convinced her doctors that she needed heart valve surgery. After further consultation and research, Marsini learned about the minimally invasive valve procedures being performed by Dr. Delos Cosgrove at the Cleveland Clinic. In February 1997, Dr. Cosgrove performed a minimally invasive annuloplasty, or surgical repair of Marsini's mitral valve, using a Cosgrove-Edwards annuloplasty ring. The events that transpired during her visit were both magical and spiritual in nature. Learn about her near death experience and spiritual encounters during her visit. Three days after her surgery, Marsini returned home and resumed her active life. In October of 1999, Barbara visited Edwards in Irvine, California where she met the woman who had sewn her ring along with the entire ring lab team. She was the first ring recipient to tour Edwards' lab. "I needed to say thank you to the person who made the ring that saved my life. It was part of my healing. Visiting the lab and watching everyone work on new life-saving rings was a one of the most spiritual and rewarding times of my life."
