Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom welcomes political analyst Charlie Gerow back onto the Dom Giordano program, to discuss why he chose to resign as Vice President of CPAC amid turmoil. In a tell-all interview, Gerow lays forth everything that aligned that forced his resignation, explaining a letter he penned to the organization that calls for an investigation into CPAC's leader and their financial decisions. Then, Dom continues the Dom Giordano Program by offering an update on the continued effort to re-frame the economic peril we find ourselves as a net positive of the Biden administration. This leads Dom to play back some audio from those associated with the Left touting certain numbers that paint a bright picture, instead arguing the negative implications of policies set forth by the current administration. Then, Dom welcomes in Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss her new book How Sweet It Is: Defending the American Dream. First, Dom asks Winsome Sears to tell her story, with Sears explaining that her father moved her family only weeks prior to Martin Luther King Jr's ‘I Have a Dream' Speech with only $1.70 in his pocket. Sears tells that American patriotism runs deep, with her father knowing that even through the turmoil of the civil rights movement, America was the place for his family to thrive. Then, Sears tells of her time spent in the Marines where she learned the electrician trade, telling about her time spent as a small business owner and electrician prior to her life in public office. The Al Jama-ah party is calling on government to revert the Western Cape department of Transport and Community Safety back to national government over its failure to deal with the prolonged taxi strike. This, as commuters in the province, were once again left stranded as the strike by taxi operators affiliated to Santaco continues. The strike, which started last week, has so far left a trail of destruction - with one person killed and several busses torched. Al Jama-ah has also called for the City of Cape Town's Safety and Security department to be placed under administration. For more on this Elvis Presslin spoke to Al Jama-ah's Member of Provincial Legislature, Maulana Galil Brinkhuis

Dr. Joseph Williams III is a K12 leader, who currently works as a high school principal with Seattle Public Schools. He has 20+ years of PreK-12 experience, including 10 years as a special education teacher and 13+ years as an assistant principal and principal at the elementary and secondary level. He has earned multiple university degrees, including his doctorate degree in educational administration and MBA degree. He is certified as a teacher and administrator in the state of Washington, Missouri, and Georgia. As an African American school leader, Dr. Williams believes that all children should have an opportunity to get a quality education and have an amazing life! In this episode, I interview Dr. Joseph a K-12 educator since 1994. I started off as a teacher and a coach. He taught for 12 years before becoming an administrator, and for the last almost 17 years he's been a school administrator. He shares, “Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care about them.” One way to create that for administrators is to make sure that they're visible and vocal. Dr. Joseph gives an example of a student's voice by using a student advisory council, which is something that allows our students to have a voice to be able to come to him, he allows them to run that group and they're asking him questions, set the agenda, and bring up issues that concern them (what concerns us as adults might not necessarily concern students). He believes that it is very important to also make sure that everyone is represented in the group. One very important thing he state was that there are student leaders in the building without a title, and those are the kind of kids we want on the Student advisory council. Also, he knows there are students who are natural leaders who might not be good role models for their peers because leading is not leading in a good way. So he challenges them to be a part of a group like the advisory council. We talk about how pronouns were a challenge for him, but allowing students to engage with him and his staff brought about great learning and community. He is big on the approach of taking it from both the administrative point of view and the student point of view. Dr. Joseph is a big believer in being a facilitator of the learning environment. We challenge the issues teachers to have with cell phones - he states that teachers should incorporate the technologies so that the students stay engaged. He knows that it is important to embrace the technology that's out there. These kids are digital natives. We talk about how imperative it is to build relationships with his educators. If we're truly educators. We don't need to stop learning. We need to keep learning as well, just like we were teaching our students the same principles. It's very important for us to embrace we're still growing and we can't be stuck in 1995, Connect here with Dr. Joseph Linked In My K12 Career Show

In response to a information request from MacIver, Governor Evers' Adminstration revealed this week that 81% of the Wisconsinites who have passed away from COVID-19, died having another serious, underlying health condition or a what is known in medical circles as a comorbidity. 81%. According to DHS, only 1% of the deaths have been caused by COVID only, no other conditions, the rest are unknown because of questions about how the death information was recorded. While we believe that any loss of life is tragic, the fact that the vast majority of the deceased in Wisconsin had another comorbidity seems like a pretty important piece of information that the public has a right to know. Makes you wonder why the Evers administration didn't share this information with the public for over four months and then only did so because a media organization forced them to. If we are to get through this together, we all need access to all the COVID-19 information. For the MacIver News Minute, I'm Jen Healy

Last week, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on a recent phone call between Governor Tony Evers and Legislative leaders. Why is a phone call between politicians newsworthy, you might ask? Because an Evers staffer secretly recorded the phone call without notifying the leaders and then that staffer leaked the recording to the media. Governor Evers so far has refused to identify the staff person responsible for secretly recording his political rivals or say anything about how the recording found its way to the mainstream media. Until Evers reveals the name of the person responsible, the recording of the phone call may not only be a dirty trick but actually illegal here in Wisconsin. When the Governor's legal counsel was asked which member of the Adminstration recorded the call, the Governor's lawyer refused to answer the question directly and attempted to shift blame on the legislature. Just be honest and open with the people Governor. No games or non-answer answers Governor. Just be honest.

While expressions of faith remain common in political discourse today, the actual policy decisions of political leaders seem less connected to that faith. Today, too, our culture - while still seeming to expect a president to have a faith - rejects faith as an explanation for those decisions. Ronald Reagan's faith, however, was a driver of some of his most profound moments as President--including the breaking up of the Communist Bloc.Rev. John Boyles is a former pastor of National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC, the church of President Ronald Reagan during his Adminstration. Rev. Boyles served under President Reagan as Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Ethical Values. As the President's minister he made a pastoral visit to the persecuted Russian Pentacostals taking refuge in the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. During the Reagan Administration, Rev. Boyles set up the first VOA international broadcast of an English language Christmas Eve service in 1982 into the Soviet bloc, broadcast from President Reagan's church. A graduate of Yale Divinity School, Boyles became Presbyterian Chaplain at Yale and associate pastor of the Church of Christ in Yale and as Director of Dwight Hall, the university's community service and religious activities organization.Support the show (http://www.faithandlaw.org/donate)
