Welche Filme gehören in jede Mülltonne? Zum anderen wollen wir gemeinsam mit euch unsere Reihe über VHS-Kassetten und Klappentexte fortführen. Gesucht werden Filmfans, die entweder lustige oder exotische Filme in ihrer Sammlung haben. Dabei kann es sich ruhig auch um andere ältere oder ausgestorbene Medien handeln. We are doing a series called Ameri-CAN. Talking about the CAN-DO spirit that is part of our American DNA. So much about our lives has been turned upside down by this Corona Virus / Covid-19, and we have been hearing a lot about what we CAN’T do and where we CAN’T go, but our guests during this series are going to talk to us about their area of expertise and all of the ways we still CAN learn and grow, train, connect, and expand our freedoms in ways we maybe haven’t thought about before. Our guest today is Frank Miniter. Frank is an author and investigative journalist with a penchant for outdoor adventure. Frank is the Editor in Chief of NRA's America's 1st Freedom, a frequent guest on major news media outlets, a Field Editor for the NRA’s American Hunter, and the author of The New York Times’ Bestseller The Ultimate Man’s Survival Guide—Recovering the Lost Art of Manhood. Miniter’s other books include The Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting, Saving the Bill of Rights, and The Future of the Gun. 1) Learning more about taking control of our lives and our Rights is such a great way to empower people during this time when so much has been out of our control. One side says that freedom itself is under attack, the other side says we are just fear mongering to “sell more guns”. If we don’t even know what the Founding Principles of our nation are, how do people sort out the truth from the noise? 2) The Second Amendment is not a political issue, but the politicians have MADE it political. Especially in the upcoming 2020 election with every one of the Democratic Presidential hopefuls trying to out-anti-gun one another. And now, Joe Biden appears to be the best they have for the Democratic Presidential bid. For people who value their 2A Rights, is there any way they could vote for Biden and not lose their Constitutionally-protected rights to keep and bear arms? - Biden then says that he would repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), so that gun makers and dealers can again be sued because someone used a legally purchased firearm to commit a crime. This is like allowing people to sue GM if, say, someone used a Chevy to harm someone else. 3) It is confusing to people to understand how our Bill of Rights protects our 2A rights yet various states can trample those rights. You wrote an article a couple of months ago titled “Barriers to Freedom” where you talk about this tension between federal and states’ rights. Can you speak to the premise of your article and specifically the ideas behind federal reciprocity legislation? 4) More and more often it seems the American People are looking to the Supreme Court to weigh out the major issues that have become so polluted by politics. The 2A is among those issues. We recently heard that SCOTUS passed by an opportunity to hear a case out of NY. That has some of the anti-gun groups feeling confident that by default that means they are winning. But, you have written about the possibility of a few other cases making their way to be ruled on by SCOTUS. What can you tell us about those cases? - The cases currently being considered for possible hearing by the court, on the other hand, concern laws that more broadly affect the gun-owning population. Cases like Wilson v. Cook County, Illinois and Worman v. Healey directly challenge bans on popular and commonly owned semi-automatic rifles and magazines—Heller specifically protects “commonly owned” firearms. Another case, Rogers v. Grewal, challenges laws preventing law-abiding citizens from carrying a firearm outside their home for self-defense. This takes on the “special need” requirement that places like New Jersey and California use to deny citizens their basic Second Amendment rights. And then there’s Pena v. Horan, which challenges California’s “Unsafe Handgun Act,” a law that implicates the Second Amendment by effectively banning commonly owned handguns.

Patrick Durkin of Waupaca, Wisconsin, is an award-winning outdoor writer, newspaper columnist, and general outdoors reporter. He also provides editing services for books and magazines. He was a contributing editor of the Archery Trade Association and writes frequently for national archery and hunting magazines. In addition, he has been MeatEater's wildlife research contributor since June 2018, and an editor for Inside Archery magazine, an archery industry trade publication, since December 2014. Durkin has written a weekly outdoors newspaper column since 1984. His weekly column has appeared regularly in over 20 Wisconsin newspapers during his career. His magazine articles have appeared in several publications such as the American Hunter, Outdoor Life, Bugle (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation), Quality Whitetails, Whitetail Journal, etc. It's no secret there is a lack of participation in the hunting industry by people of color. The lack of representation of people of color in the hunting industry is what led Durkin to become curious about this issue. It led him to ask the question is hunting too White? As a result of this curiosity he wrote an article "Is Hunting Too White?". As a Black hunter I'm always asked if I'm fearful of hunting with White men with guns. Some hunting outfitters have their names with the word plantation on it without realizing how that impacts people. Frankly, hunting is a test on how well you get along with people, especially when you're sitting in a blind. We discussed some things that need to change so hunting can be more inclusive. Organizations are entering more cities to reach more Black and Latino children. Durkin recognizes there are lots of things he doesn't have to think about because of his position in the world. Not everyone has access to land, rivers and different places to hunt and fish. This is a thoughtful discussion about a touchy subject. Before you go… We enjoy sharing tips and resources with all of you so please keep them coming. As I stated before I want this to be place where you, my audience gets involved in the conversation. Robert Mitchum's kid freelances his way into a "get the ninja tape" situation and into Janet's heart all while being WAY above the law and murdering many innocent people. Expect some shenanigans in this super-budget movie out of Indonesia. One of a kind in it's repetition and recurring themes, American Hunter (Lethal Hunter in Europe) is a classic super-budget action film with very poorly thought-out plot elements. Behold the final list of incredibly weird repeating onscreen events: 4 - The number of bad dives 4 - The number of times Janet gets kidnapped 3 - The number of times Jake survives after something that would kill anyone else 4 - The number of times someone shouts "Asshole!" right before killing someone 4 - The number of times a stunt car drives up and ramp and jumps 2 - Houses owned by the villain that are exploded by the villain 3 - Random species of critters the villain owns Then there's sweet sweet Janet. Poor Janet has been put through unholy hell. She loses her job, gets someones brains all over her face, kidnapped four times, crashed into a gas truck, her car destroyed, dropped from a helicopter, shot in the shoulder, had her neck shaved (?), and then married to a man who clearly doesn't care about whether she lives or dies. In typical 80's Indonesia tradition, life takes a backseat and no unions were involved in this wonderful little treat of garbage. How many stuntmen lost limbs or even their lives during the making of this? If you love dangerous stunts - you'll have a great time here.
If the American Dream is to own your own house, then the American Hunter's dream is to own your own piece of hunting real estate. But to achieve that dream we are often faced with the burden of financing, credit, and income especially if we're working the 9 to 5 job and living paycheck to paycheck. According to Sean Asada, despite these perceived challenges, Sean says that you can do it, he did it, and he didn't have 2 nickles to rub together. He started with a 10 acre piece, then another 13 acres, sold those, then bought 80 acres, sold that land, then bought 280 acres all for himself to hunt. Sean explains how he devised his plan to own his own hunting land without breaking his blue collar shoestring budget. This week our favorite subs, Wes and Kelly return to the show and attempt to help CDR reassemble his shattered psyche after experiencing the horrors of war and cannibals in Cannibal Mercenary (1983). Luckily, there's a big ol' plate of comfort food awaiting them in Arizal's American Hunter (1988) and through the power of backflips, carsplosions, ass padding and forced ice cream shaves the boys are able to regain their dignity and come together as friends once again. The extra special news of the week is that once again The Gentleman's Guide to Midnight Cinema are teaming up with OMG Entertainment for a DVD release of American Hunter (aka Lethal Hunter)!! Hit up their Indiegogo campaign to help make that happen and get yourself a copy (Seriously, you're gonna wanna get in on this). Steven Rinella, author of "Meat Eater—Adventures from the Life of an American Hunter," says that hunting is intimately connected with our humanity and that assuming responsibility for the meat that we eat, rather than entrusting it to proxy executioners, processors, packagers, and distributors is one of the most respectful and exhilarating things a meat eater can do. In his book, Rinella examines such themes as the vanishing frontier, the ethics of killing, and the loss of Americans' connection with the way their food makes its way to their tables. We'll talk about these topics with Stephen Rinella and hear some of his hunting stories as well some of the history of hunting in America on Tuesday's AU.
