Today's Cooking With Chrissie recipe is so easy, so sweet and makes Browny say words like ‘tailpipe' and ‘colluding'. Here's what you need: Frozen Puff Pastry A block of chocolate Some squeezy caramel A banana An ice cube tray An egg (or melted butter) Spray the ice cube tray with cooking oil, push a sheet of just thawed pastry into the cavities. Squirt in some caramel, put a slice of banana in next, then one square of chocolate. Cover with another sheet of pastry. Put it in the freezer to firm up for a while, then turn out onto to a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cook in a preheated 220C fan oven, for 15-25 minutes, or when nice and golden. Serve! Martha Brown, Banoffee was living in LA, struggling to cover the rent with a broken down car and phoning mum for clarity on just whether it might be time to realise chasing this dream in music could be 'ridiculous'. But then Banoffee received a phone call that saw her playing for Charli XCX as support for Taylor Swift's last world tour. Epic much?!? Two years later, Banoffee is back in Melbourne promoting her debut album Look at Us Now Dad. Described as an oil slick of a pop record, with rainbow synths sliding over the viscous slurry of guilt and shame many survivors wade through before reclaiming their identities. The album embodies Brown's refusal to let her past dominate her future. Today we chat about riding the waves of performing. About the masks we might where when on stage, but also the mask that performing on that's same stage lets us remove. And about having self awareness to know either way. A new friend of boxing, this super star sure packs a punch. She talks about her memories of writing and singing with her sister Hazel and over the years progressing as a musician, songwriter and producer when she started her solo project Banoffee. Seja and Martha talk about their Steiner educations, late night snacks, going on a world tour with Taylor Swift and the theatre of turning knobs. There is lots of chat about Banoffee’s new album ‘Look At Us Now Dad’, relying on sadness for inspiration, looking after oneself on tour and karma. BANOFFEE; Born Martha Brown, the sister of popular Australian singer/songwriter Hazel Brown, she is very well-known for her role in Charli XCX's band in Taylor Swift's sold-out massive Reputation Stadium World Tour. But now she's gone solo and left the land down under to record her next project- a solo project. And the result of this brave solo project is BANOFFEE and in her debut album Look At Us Now Dad BANOFFEE is leaving nothing unsaid. The first half of the album took us on an emotional roller coaster. The album starts out with a very sassy and IDGAF kind of message, and then steadily brought us through catastrophe. Look At Us Now Dad is not as much an album, as it is a journey. A journey of life, survival, and optimism in a world that seems to be crashing down. While the lyrics may signify a sad and lonely, starving artist that is BANOFFEE herself; the synth-metal, club worthy beats make the album more of a celebration rather than a mourning of that journey. We are about to dissect the second half of her debut album. As you will quickly notice, the second half of the album is as sentimental and catty as the first half, if not more. The rest of the album takes us on an intense fervor that is quite impossible to describe or distinguish until you have listened to it. Join us in listening and breaking down the rest of the album, and as we ask the muse herself more questions about the birth and creation of this album. We are also excited to announce our next episode! Listen now to find out what album we will be sharing with you and breaking down in Episode 2 out June 24th. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/albumslive/support

Banoffee / Martha and I met a long time ago, like almost ten years ago I'd say, when I was cool. I was super cool for a minute, she acknowledges on the show. She's way cooler these days. I remember catching up with her in LA a few years ago and her sunbathing by my pool w her armpit hair and thinking oh she became really cool now. And so her debut album came out right before the rona on Cascine Records (featured on the previous Jeff Bratton episode). We talk about how it doesn't matter. Because something happened for Martha in the last few years, and she's in front now. Everyone she's friends with and working with are the most progressive creatives on earth. And her album is really really good pop music. So we're gonna look for music in the new world. And she's going to be making it. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/teawithsg/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/teawithsg/support

In this potentially final episode of 'The Ferg Neal Show' Banoffee and I discuss PTSD, addiction, and meditation. Hubert Stelfark: "Exactly Councillor Desmond, can Sergeant Cody not just shoot him? Even just by accident?" Turtle Desmond: "Condoms and torn underwear!" Egritte Manbender: "What do you think Ponkin?" Ponkin Bourke: (Munches biscuit) "Wha?" Richard Pheasant: "This town's gone to fuck so it has. Who'd want to live in Mount Eidel anymore? Bad enough your family gets my entire dole! That wife of yours put my rent up again... I won't pay Hannah, sure there's no money. No jobs! Nobody knows the real Dick Pheasant! (coughs)" Egritte Manbender: "Ponkin? Are you alright Ponkin? You're staring straight through me. We're, speaking about Richard?" Ponkin Bourke: "Sorry Egritte, I was caught, eh, Dick, yeah, Dick, well, he's his own man like," Hubert Stelfark: "We're about to hold the 'Community Games' for bloody's sake! What about the children!" Ponkin Bourke: "He hasn't got any, as far as I know. He sez Shlioler is barren. It's not his thing like." Hubert Stelfark: "No! His thing is fuckin' that feral female at the back of the storage cabins in our park!" Richard Pheasant: (Sneezes) "Jaysus! Look! Look?! You've given me a cold now! Kickin' me out! You're responsible!" Hubert Stelfark: "We've no money until this event generates some, and we can't hope for that if Richard Pheasant is lolling around with his tackle on show! Sorry Ponkin." Ponkin Bourke: "It's alright Hubert. Dick can be aggressive but he's not that bad once you get to know him." Richard Pheasant: (Sneezes). Hubert Stelfark: "Ok listen Ponkin, as well as the weekend spice burgers, what about: 24 cans of Tuborg, free, each week, wha? I can get them from Shamey Gansella down at the Offo in return for some sponsoring. Whaddaya think?" Ponkin Bourke: "These are lovely Egritte... Oh, eh, yeah, that might work Hubert." Hubert Stelfark: "Just have a word with him Ponkin. The MDA have too much on the agenda with sanitation expenditure than to waste our time on middle-aged miscreants." Egritte Manbender: "Public sex Ponkin." Ponkin: (Starts to choke). Egritte Manbender: "Chairman Hubert is right." Ponkin Bourke: "Sorry, okay Egritte. I’ll do that. I’m on for that. Yeah. I’ll speak to him. Low profile... Ok." Richard Pheasant: "So that was their plan. To bribe me with beer to stop having public sex with my girlfriend Shlioler. And why? Well in case you didn't hear; The Mount Eidel community games sports day was coming up and they were under stress to show off the town and didn't want my cock hanging out in the middle of it, so to speak. Would I take up the offer?? Listen and find out!" 'Mount Pheasant I' is an Amplevoicepod production. Richard Pheasant: "Well, what can I say? My name is Richard Pheasant. Most people who know me call me Dick". Egritte Manbender: "Calm down. Now look, you've planted your fist in my Banoffee pie!" Richard Pheasant: "This is Egrit Manbender. She's on the Mount Eidel Development Association. She's stuck up like the rest of them there; Hubert Stelfark and Turtle Desmond. They hate me!" Hubert Stelfark: "For God's sake!" Turtle Desmond: "He's killing the tourists of the town!" Hubert Stelfark: "Tourism, Turtle, he's killing tourism." Ponkin Bourke: "Nice pie, Egritte!" Richard Pheasant: "That's my mate Ponkin Bourke. He volunteers on the council, coz I think he fancies the posh Manbender one." Richard Pheasant: "Hello? Hello?" Richard Pheasant: "I was a proud man. I took no shit. This is me last week, getting kicked out of me local pub... (Which is pretty normal, like)." Richard Pheasant: "Barred now am I? Is that it? Barred?! You're throwing me out Patsy?! For what? It's only just gone 8am! That pint on the counter's mine! It's mine right!" Egritte Manbender: "We have to think about Richard...". Hubert Stelfark: "I don't want to think of him. Look Ponkin, a free spice-burger with chips every weekend, that'll do it, right?" Richard Pheasant: (Knocks on pub door) "Wha? Hah? No I haven't got my foot in the door, close it if you want! I don't fuckin' care. Ah you're just the same as you always were Patsy Goggleses." Egritte Manbender: "Something must be done about Mr. Pheasant. We are the Mount Eidel Development Association. It's our job to 'develop' an-and to 'solve'. Have some more pie, Ponkin?" Turtle Desmond: "He's bad for business! That's what I think, and no less. He has to be dealt with." Hubert Stelfark: "Exactly Councillor Desmond, can Sergeant Cody not just shoot him? Even just by accident?" Turtle Desmond: "Condoms and torn underwear!" Egritte Manbender: "What do you think Ponkin?" Ponkin Bourke: (Munches biscuit) "Wha?" Richard Pheasant: "This town's gone to fuck so it has. Who'd want to live in Mount Eidel anymore? Banoffee is regarded as one of the most forward-thinking and innovative pop/dance songwriters working today. With co-signs from the likes of SOPHIE and Charli XCX, not to mention a string of killer fashion collabs, she holds the captive attention of a global audience. Before all that though, Banoffee was Martha Brown - a part of Melbourne's Two Bright Lakes collective and one third of art-pop outsiders Otouto. It's a unique Venn diagram that few artists truly fit into, and before her headlining show at the Lansdowne Hotel this past March she explained just how she managed to transition between the two.
