Justin's specialty is recruiting, so he led the discussion, and then talked about the visit with Phil Steele that the Voice of College Football recently hosted. After that, we spent over an hour reviewing some clips of video from B1G Media Days, where Isaac Gifford, Ty Robinson, Ben Scott and Head Coach Matt Rhule emphasized the concept of family at Nebraska. Finally, we reviewed a clip of video featuring the SEC's biggest hot-take apologist, Paul Finebaum, who took offense to Matt Rhule's comments about the B1G being the best conference in college football. The commentary was incendiary for sure, but the response was especially heated, including a tweet from friend of the show, Bryan, host of t he Husker Army Podcast. It was a fun, silly segment about a silly man with silly SEC homer-ism, who feels his job is to gatekeep college football and put everyone in their place who just don't auto-anoint the SEC as the greatest thing ever to happen in the world of sport. The Husker247 trio gathered two days after Christmas to discuss the gift the transfer portal gave the Huskers in center Ben Scott, discuss Matt Rhule's second major media appearance, Nebraska's 2023 current signing class and a little hoops talk with Iowa coming to town. How did the Huskers land Scott? More importantly the group discusses what it means and the value of locking down the center position potentially for each of the next two seasons.  Nebraska also landed a critical transfer portal addition in Jeff Sims, who could be the team's quarterbacks each of the next two seasons, but the Huskers also have about 183 other signal callers on the roster.
