You must always do right by the Bible, the source of ultimate truth. Followers of God must always strive to do what is right, regardless of circumstances or personal gain. In Micah 6:8, the prophet declares, "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." This verse encapsulates God's expectation for righteous living: justice, mercy, and humility. Jesus, in His earthly ministry, emphasized the importance to always do right, teaching that righteousness comes from the heart (Matthew 5:20). He instructed His followers to love their neighbors as themselves and to even love their enemies (Matthew 5:44), showing that doing right transcends social and personal boundaries. The Apostle Paul also urged believers to walk in the light of God's truth. In Romans 12:17, he writes, "Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone." Paul stresses that when you always do right you are a great witness to others and a reflection of Christ's love in the world. Ultimately, the charge to always do right is not merely about outward actions, but about honoring God in all things. As Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commands." Romans 1:16 says “I am not ashamed of the Gospel.” But what does that mean? Die for the Good News? Sure. But Paul also demonstrated in that passage how to stand for truth in a culture that denied Ultimate Truth. Welcome to Round 1 of the 2024 GNCC Season!

Humans have limited understanding of our world and the world beyond; not that we're unintelligent—far from it. The Bible makes it clear that God gave man a sound mind, and from the beginning, people were capable of accomplishing amazing things. The construction of the great pyramids, modern scientific advances, and our knowledge of the cosmos is a testament to how much humans can know and achieve. We're even capable of presenting truth in various ways through art, teaching, and moral agendas, but man's abilities are finite. There is One, though, that claims all truth: the person Jesus Christ.    John 1:17 says, “For the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”    In other words, man has been capable over time of building structure and order in society. Around the time of Moses and the 10 Commandments and the laws that govern the Israelites, other cultures were doing somewhat similar things. The Code of Hammurabi, a set of Babylonian laws, helped create a functioning society, and in 1254, the Magna Carta, a set of English laws that was the forerunner of the Declaration of Independence, brought England out of the Dark ages.    Yet the Bible is very clear that ultimate truth, the sum of all reality, is found only in Jesus Christ. It is in Him that we unlock the mystery of who we are as individuals. He knows each of us, and invites us into relationship with him.    People all over the world follow their own set of rules. It's often said that truth is true if it's true for you, meaning of course that each of us has the right to follow his or her own reasoning. For example, to a person who frees himself from moral constraints, love can mean many things.    In 2 John 1:6 we read, “And this is love, that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you've heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.”    Do you see the difference? We can tell ourselves anything; that love, for example, can have many definitions, but God tells us in His Word that true love is being obedient to our Creator.    In the end, the world is full of philosophies and opinions of men. Some see truth differently, but only in the Bible do we find true truth. For Jesus Christ is the ultimate truth.    Let's pray.    Father God, the world can be a dangerous place. Help us to continue relying on you and as our ultimate source of truth so that we can make the best for us and our families. Your Word is our guide, Jesus' name, amen.

Jose was an electrical engineer, a self-described atheist and closed minded skeptic when, at age 46, after a minor accident at work, he was administered medication in the ER that he was severely allergic to. That mundane mistake changed Jose's life completely as the damage to his lungs from the reaction to the medication became severe and he was brought back to the ER where he flat lined for a total of 5 minutes. There, he experienced a journey that shattered his materialist perspective and every belief in ‘science' he had held dear.Jose's life changed dramatically as a result of this near-death experience. Religious ultimate truth give us a concept of who and what God is, but is that image of God accurate? God is not an object that can be directly observed like the Las Vegas strip yet and still ultimate truths are formed about God. How does this construction of God, this creation of the Divine rob the individual of the opportunity to identify God on an empirical basis?

Ultimate Truth, according to religion gives us a very rigid and immutable set of guidelines in with to live our lives according to. This singular system wishes to inform, define, instruct, and assign direction, purpose, and identity to humanity as a whole not taking into account the value of individuality. This episode we discuss how Ultimate Truth is a life giving source for the individual self expression instead of an oppressive chock hold on uniqueness for the sake of conformity.
