These days, yoga is a mainstream phenomenon practiced by many. But back in the 1970s, when actor and filmmaker Campbell Scott first discovered it, it was still a fringe practice associated with hippies and gurus. In this episode with guest host Larry Millburn, Campbell shares how a yoga book by Richard Hittleman nourished him physically, mentally, and spiritually. As a teenager struggling with anxiety and self-doubt, Campbell was drawn to yoga's promise of inner peace and resilience. Over the years, his practice became an anchor, and a way to stay grounded in the face of the challenges and uncertainties of life as a performing artist. Campbell also talks about: How yoga helped him quit smoking and manage the pressures of an acting career Getting over the discomfort of being a man in female-dominated yoga spaces How his practice has evolved over decades How yoga fosters a sense of presence and connection Why more men should give yoga a try Links: Campbell Scott's IMDb page https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001714/ Richard Hittleman's Yoga book https://www.amazon.com/Richard-Hittlemans-Yoga-Exercise-Plan/dp/0553277480 Larry's Yoga for Dudes website https://www.yogafordudes.com/ Way of the Empowered Man Retreat GTY Episode https://www.gtypodcast.com/podcast-episodes/52-johnny-gillespie

Bridget Fonda and Campbell Scott are gonna have a baby. She has some baggage because her dad abandoned her as a child. Unfortunately for her, in the weirdo, confusing world where souls wait to be born, her son is refusing to do it. Is "Delivering Milo" a Christian movie? It is pro-life in that if Anton Yelchin continues refusing to be born, the world ends. However, the hero of the movie is a real piece of garbage who abandoned his family (guess who?) before he died and now while he is supposed to be showing the value of life to Anton Yelchin on earth, he's actually trying to f*ck a bunch of ladies, getting drunk and generally being a piece of sh*t. Now I'm not gonna tell you if it's good. You have to listen to find out. But I will say that the doctor who is supposed to deliver the baby is Keith Gordon in his final film role and he is loose, charming and just great. The Movie Loft Podcast

Join us in the barn loft as we talk about Singles, a movie that may have been better served if it were split in two. In between the making and delayed release of this movie, the Seattle "grunge" explosion was spreading far and wide. Prompting Warner Brothers to release a movie that sat for 9 months because they weren't sure how to position/market it. That was until their Gen X kids (or employees) heard that they had a movie with Eddie Vedder in it that was languishing. Well, that and the obvious explosion on the music charts for Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Nirvana. Starring Matt Dillon, Bridget Fonda, Kyra Sedgwick and Campbell Scott. Along with a never-ending supply of cameos by the likes of Tim Burton, Eric Stoltz, Jeremy Piven, Paul Giamatti and Cameron Crowe himself.
