Cary Williams' journey is a true testament to resilience and the power of perseverance. She's not just an entrepreneur and the founder of Tussle Gear—she's someone who has weathered the highs and lows of life and learned the most valuable lessons during the most challenging times. For Cary, success isn't just about hitting milestones—it's about how you rise when things go wrong, how you keep moving forward no matter the hurdles in your path.A pivotal moment from Cary's childhood shaped who she is today. At just eight years old, she wanted to walk to the store alone but was terrified of a group of girls in her neighborhood who often picked on her. Instead of stepping in to protect her, her dad handed her a stick and told her, “You've got this. Take control.” Though it seemed simple at the time, this small but powerful gesture taught Cary that facing her fears was a decision she had to make herself. It was the beginning of her journey toward independence and strength, a foundation that would carry her through life's challenges.Quotes:● "The only way through fear is to face it head-on." – Cary Williams● "It's not about waiting for things to get easier, it's about deciding you're going to keep going, no matter what." – Cary Williams● "I've learned that failure isn't the end—it's just the beginning of something new." – Cary WilliamsTakeaways:● Fear doesn't go away on its own. The only way through it is to face it and keep moving forward.● Life's challenges don't define you. It's your response to them that shapes who you become.● There's power in failure—it's where you learn the most and find your true strength. Conclusion: Cary's story teaches us that success isn't about avoiding failure—it's about how we respond to it. By facing fears, overcoming setbacks, and continuing to push forward, we can take control of our lives and create something meaningful. Cary's journey shows that no matter what life throws at you, you have the strength to rise, rebuild, and make the life you want. With courage and determination, we can all rewrite our stories.

USA Boxing has changed its rules to allow men who identify as women to compete in the female category, a change that coach Cary Williams warns could be deadly. Even one man competing against women is “all it takes to do damage; that's all it takes to kill a woman,” says Williams, a USA Olympic-level female boxing coach. “I'm extremely scared for the safety of our girls and our women in boxing,” she told “The Daily Signal Podcast.” The new policy requires males to meet specific hormone levels and to have undergone surgery to “alter” their gender. But Williams says the new policy does not acknowledge that men have “larger hearts, larger lungs, bone density, strength.”“You're talking about muscle-fiber differences. Those are all something we're born with,” she says. Williams, the founder of women's fight-gear brand Tussle, joins the show to discuss USA Boxing's rule change and what she thinks female boxers should do to stand up against the dangerous policy. For some reason we started today's show by trying to figure out who likes us and who doesn't like us. There's some good stories in there about Dan Duquette, Steve Smith Sr., Matt Judon, Cary Williams and more. At the bottom of Hour 1, #5 Towson QB Tom Flacco joined us to discuss the team's hot 3-0 start and their big game with Villanova Saturday night. Late in Hour 1-#WouldYouRatherWednesday: would you rather spend three weekends cleaning up a "massive" bull semen explosion OR have to watch every single minute of every Miami Dolphins game this season? In Hour 2, PressBox chief grand poobah Stan "The Fan" Charles joined us in studio for a round of "Five Words Or Less," discussing relevant sports figures like Jalen Ramsey, Patrick Mahomes, Ben Roethlisberger and more. And we wrapped the show with a visit from the great Ian Eagle before he calls Ravens/Chiefs on Sunday-also, would he be willing to adopt Glenn?

When Too Pretty Brand founder Cary Williams opened up her very first gym, she had no idea the journey it would take her on. She discloses the challenges she faced, what inspired Too Pretty Brand and how you can be trained by the champ. She ends the program with the most profound message for anyone struggling to achieve overall health. Web: www.tooprettybrand.com Follow: @tooprettybrand Cary Williams is the founder of the Too Pretty brand. This unique brand was created for girls and women who are tough enough to “play hard” while still embracing their femininity! History of Too Pretty? Cary was told on numerous occasions that was “Too Pretty” to be a boxer. Really? Since when is it OK to base someone's abilities on their appearance? Cary has worked with hundreds of young girls teaching them boxing, but the biggest lessons they have learned from Cary is that they can be strong, smart and successful without sacrificing their femininity. Her work with young women got her recognized by The California Legislature along with Brandi Chastain and several other women in sports, for her contribution and impact on girls' sports. Now, the brand has caught the eyes of other young girls and women who are doing “non-traditional” activities. This goal is to empower young girls and women and to encourage them to believe that they can do anything they set their mind to; even stuff that boys do! Too Pretty's social media platforms have started to grow and the #nevertoopretty movement is a big part of the brand. The campaign started over a year ago on Instagram. Girls and women are posting a black and white photo of them holding a cardboard sign on which they have written what they are Never Too Pretty to do or be and explain what it means to them. Cary has even graced the cover of Muscle & Fitness HERS and appeared on the popular NBC show, Fear Factor as well as on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing and is currently shooting for a show called Fit 2 Fat 2 Fit on A&E network. In the boxing world, Cary boxed competitively in the amateurs and won the Pacific Northwest Women's Tournament before hanging up her gloves. She is now a Level IV Olympic Level Boxing Coach with USA Boxing. Cary has trained many boxers, some of which have made it to Olympic Trial Qualifying Tournaments. Cary caught the attention of many when she trained and cornered a female boxer for 3 Olympic Qualifying tournaments. All done without the help of an assistant coach in the corner for each fight. Cary co-created and co-hosted “Boxing 101” Boxing Camp Workout and “Additional Fundamentals”, unique boxing instructional and workout DVDs. As a spokesperson for Everlast, Cary created a boxing class format for 24 Hour group fitness called Everlast ShadowBox and was a part of several print ad campaigns for Everlast Cary founded the “Knocking Out Obesity” tour which stopped at 10 of the “fattest” cities in the nation (according to Men's Fitness). Cary conducted non-contact boxing workouts with students at 10 middle schools in the nation. In the beginning, she founded PRIME TIME BOXING, INC. in 1998 and also created Prime Time Boxing Club, a non-profit organization that offers scholarship programs to pay for the training, equipment and travel expense of disadvantaged children. She grew PRIME TIME BOXING, INC to a chain of boxing clubs and franchised the concept in 2007. When Dr. S. Allen Counter died in July, the world mourned a man whose celebrated career took him on an unlikely journey, from the small town of Americus, Ga., to the hallowed halls of Harvard University via a remote Greenland village and the upper echelon of influence in Sweden. Dr. Counter was a neurobiologist, an ethnographer and a mission-driven advocate who spent the last years of his life leading the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations. This week, we deliver a radio tribute to Dr. S. Allen Counter, a Renaissance man who guided generations of Harvard students and expanded the university's vision of community. Guests: David Evans, senior admissions officer at Harvard University and a member of the Harvard Foundation's Faculty Advisory Council; Dr. Bruce Price, associate professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School, chief of the department of neurology at McLean Hospital and also a member of the Harvard Foundation's Faculty Advisory Council; and Cary Williams, a 2016 Harvard graduate and a former intern for the Harvard Foundation.
Women Who SWAAY Podcast - Weekly Conversations With Women Challenging The Status Quo
Cary Williams is a Olympic boxer and coach, as well as an entrepreneur in a franchise of boxing clubs. Tired of people saying that she was “too pretty” to be a fighter, she started the Never Too Pretty brand aimed to empower women in all of their pursuits, whether writing or body-building. In this episode, she talks about the importance of staying present and never taking the path of least resistance. As she continuously challenges female stereotypes, Cary refuses to compromise on her passions and says that you shouldn't either.
Cary Williams is the founder of the Too Pretty brand. This unique brand was created for girls and women who are tough enough to “play hard” while still embracing their femininity! Cary was told on numerous occasions that she was too pretty to be a fighter. Which meant that they thought she was not capable. […]
In this week's podcast we dive into femininity, and what you can do to open yourself up to feeling more feminine in your life. And no, that doesn't mean wearing dresses or putting on makeup. We are joined this week with a phenomenal guest, Cary Williams, who shares her story as being a feminine role model in a masculine based sport. About The Guest Cary Williams is a boxer and the founder of a unique clothing brand called Too Pretty. The Too Pretty brand was created out of a Cary’s experience in a male dominated sport: Boxing. As a fighter, Cary was told often that she was Too Pretty to be a boxer. Which really meant in their mind, that she was not capable. Those same people who then saw her fight would say, “You fight like a boy!” And in the world of boxing or any sport where you get punched in the face; that is a compliment. Fast forward 5 years and it dawned on her that she was not the only girl or woman experiencing these comments. There were business owners, surfers, managers, race car drivers, writers, bodybuilders and the list goes on! She launched the Too Pretty brand in late 2015 with a few lines of T-shirts and halter tops. They were a hit (no pun intended)! The social media platforms started to grow and the #tooprettymovement began. Top Three Takeaways Femininity is not about wearing dresses, it's a way of being. It's not about 100% being feminine or masculine, it's about finding the balance between the two. Connecting with your inner child can be so helpful in finding who you are and what you're about in the world. Another game and another yard short as the Seahawks lose 34-31 to the Rams to start the 2015 season. Adam and Brandan touch on the positives and the negatives from the past game including a look at the offensive line, red zone performance and a more aggressive style in defense in some aspects. One thing that hasn't changed: Michaell Bennett still seems to think the neutral zone is an okay place to hang out prior to the snap. We have our first conspiracy theory of the season as Adam thinks Hauschka was executing exactly what he was told to do for the overtime kickoff. He doesn't buy the explanation coming from the players or coaches that the ball was supposed to be kicked farther down the field. Even with the loss, there were some big plays to be excited about--all from new members of the team. We talk about the sack, strip and score by Cary Williams, Jimmy Graham's touchdown catch and the first regular season punt return by a Seahawks player in a long time. We take a look at some of the email reactions from the game and give an update on Kam Chancellor from last week along with what seems to be the trending sentiment among Seahawks fans when it comes to Chancellor's holdout. Note: Look for a full show later in the week to preview the Packers game along with news from the week and the traditional second half segments. iTunes | Stitcher | TuneIn | Facebook | Twitter | RSS Call or text: 253-235-9041 Email: gohawks@seahawkerspodcast.com Download our free Amazon app, Android app, or iOS app Find Sea Hawkers clubs around the world at SeaHawkers.org Music from the show by The 12 Train, download each track at ReverbNation
This week's show kicks off with a bit of offseason news. Russell Wilson's agent forwarded a 16-page position paper to the Seahawks front office, Tarvaris Jackson re-signs with the Seahawks, contract talks with Bobby Wagner start and Cary Williams has some interesting things to say about his former team. The bulk of this show is dedicated to talking about the NFC West rival St. Louis Rams as we get you caught up to date with news from their offseason with Rams Addiction podcast co-host Michael Handshear. We ask about ways the team has improved, where do they need to continue to develop and if they're going to continue to be in St. Louis beyond the upcoming season. Do better nominees this week include scientists in the field of robotics and a Detroit fan that sought out an autograph on a strange item from a Hall of Fame running back. Brandan nominates the first animal that is better at life than Skip Bayless and Adam highlights Marshawn Lynch's new video game role.
