A few months ago I was dabbling with the idea of helping other entrepreneurs and freelancers start their own podcast production business using the processes and systems I created over the last year. I even created a free guide for anyone interested in doing this! But life got in the way, and the program I was thinking about launching in the new year took a back seat when I realized that I wanted a little bit of a break for my brain. So today I want to take you through the guide, step by step to show you how you can start a podcast production business as well! You can download the guide here and follow along with this episode, but even without the guide this episode will be helpful to you. In fact this episode will be helpful for anyone with a service business that needs some ideas to organize and manage their finances and time effectively. My business, The Ultimate Creative, is structured for my ADHD brain. It is very rigorous and process oriented and foolproof. At the same time, I need to throw in some wild cards for myself (maybe like this program I was planning?) to keep things interesting. Before I switched to a podcast-only service model, I was serving clients reactively instead of proactively. I had no idea how much money I'd be bringing in each month, and the rollercoaster (both financially and emotionally) brought me to burnout a few times more than I'd like to admit. Now, I have a reliable source of monthly income, more time freedom than I've ever had in my life, and clients that I absolutely love!Over the last year I developed this business model with a lot of trial and error, so I want to share the steps I took to fast-track your success with podcast services. Why?Because I know that when you take action on what I'm going to share with you in this framework, you will see the same results I did, and trust me when I say that I truly want you to WIN.I'm in your corner pal, let's get started!Download the guide here: https://theultimatecreative.com/how-to-become-a-podcast-editor/Here's what we cover in the 5 part framework:Part One: Reverse Engineer Your SuccessPart Two: Tech Stack & ProcessesPart Three: Package, Price and OutsourcePart Four: Training ClientsPart Five: Add-on ContentWhat's next? The process of making sake is really exciting! There are several sake brewing methods: three main ones, kimoto, yamahai and sokujo (or sokujo-moto) and another one, bodaimoto, which is even older but has been rediscovered only recently. Sake taste profile depends to a certain extent on the method used to make it. So if you know what each method means, you can make a better choice of sake. All the methods differ by the way, the starter is created. CONTENT What does trust mean to you? That’s the question I asked The Scary Guy. He responded by talking about trust in his relationships and how that trust had been broken. He felt that had trust was implicit in the promises he and his wife made to each other. We went on to discuss what happens when our trust has been broken in our early lives, and how that affects our adult behaviour. BIO He’s been called many names, by many people – although it will surely pique your curiosity as to why at the top of that list are names such as Agent For Change, Urban Dalai Lama, Warrior For Peace and Mind-Waker. The Scary Guy has worked with schools, police forces, military, and a host of communities and corporate organizations through his live training performances and across his active online networks – helping millions of people around the world to achieve personal peace and triumph in their lifetime. The Scary Guy – his legal name, changed 21 years ago – has dedicated his life to teaching others his powerful, solution-based theories and concepts on human behaviour and communication; a code that he has personally developed, in what he experienced as an absence of any clearly defined active solution from society.   CONTACT DETAILS / LINKS Website: https://www.thescaryguy.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thescaryguyofficial/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/scaryguy  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/scaryguy/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/realscaryguy/ Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/thescaryguy/ Wordpress: https://thescaryguy.club/ Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+TheScaryGuy YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/c/TheScaryGuy ABOUT WENDY CAPEWELL Wendy is a Psychotherapist, Coach, Public Speaker, and Author. They think that every job we’re posting, we’re getting paid for, which is definitely not the case. Especially at the moment, and when the bushfires were happening as well. That was a time where a lot of brands were like, we don’t want to do brand marketing. And currently a lot of brands don’t have the budget to do marketing [...], which is why I’m doing a couple more unpaid jobs than I was, just because I know they are small businesses and it’s nice to help them out.”Influencer marketing is a popular way for businesses to attract new customers. Seven Areas on How to Conduct a Half Yearly Blog Review Many bloggers do an end of year review. It’s a logical time to do an audit of your blog and set goals. I also think that periodically checking in on those goals and setting new ones is a good idea. This being halfway through the year it is a logical time to do just that. This is a good time to just stop blogging for a day or just spend a few hours and do some analysis of your blog. How have you been traveling as a blogger? I’m going to run through one method I use to do a blog review, but I also have a second suggestion that ProBlogger Editor Stacey Roberts wrote in 2015 that a lot of readers found helpful. I was also thinking about the best way to conduct a blog review and I came up with seven different areas to focus on. In each of these seven areas there are four questions you  need to ask. Questions to Ask in Each of the Seven Blogging Areas What were my successes? What are the opportunities that come from those successes? What were the failures? What is my plan? I’ve also developed a worksheet that is a bit of a matrix that you can use to find the seven areas and ask the four questions within each one. http://www.thesaleswhisperer.com/blog/topic/podcast http://MakeEverySale.com * Buffalo, NY * Keeps things simple * January 2017 at 12:30 AM he couldn't stop thinking about his business and he simplified everything * Archived his old website and kept his same offer * Reduced his lead cost by 10x * He's all in on Facebook now * Created 17 Twitter accounts...but doesn't use them * Recommendations * Great Leads: The Six Easiest Ways to Start Any Sales Message ( http://amzn.to/2tpDh4y ) by AWAI * Was building webinar funnels but they were expensive * Why not just make the offer right up front and let people decide? * Made a longform Facebook Newsfeed ad (few hundred words) * Builds a bond without a bunch of email follow-ups that aren't read * Tells his story * Provides social proof * Says he's looking for clients * Now the website doesn't matter * Had a phone sales team that was doing pre-qualification but since his funnel was so wide they got a lot of people who didn't qualify for his $25,000 minimum spend * Had to cut his ad spend because he had too many leads * Now he qualifies everyone via email and Pipedrive * Sends one personalized email with additional questions * Tells them up front what his prices start at along with the guarantee * Everyone who says "yes" ends up becoming a client * You need to make 5x on your ads for your service business or you're doing it wrong * Engineering background...because that's what his father did * About 8 years ago he had a design job after 8 months and was pulling his hair out doing CAD work * Sales reps would come in and discuss the work they needed and one of them was hiring and he was brought on to grow the Buffalo territory (with no sales experience) at 22 on 100% commission * Started out slow...making a lot of cold calls * After three years they just weren't progressing * Saw a huge opportunity in the sales presentations * Reps flew around the country to give a presentation and they weren't that effective * This limited their growth * He was reading as he was flying around the country and found some similarities in the books and the gaps in his own methods * He started delivering his own presentations * Went from $500k to $2 million in annual sales * Hired a coach (Russell Brunson) and went out on his own * Learned "The Perfect Webinar" * Had a few failures then found the opportunity when he was running out of cash and asked Russell if he could do phone sales for him...but he was turned down but he was referred to Jason who had stagnant sales from his webinar business * They were doing a live webinar once per week and spending $1,000 per week * Joel revised it and they went from $1,000 per week to $14,000 in sales * "The Hook" is the single most important thing * What not to do: Don't focus on the close so much * Sell them up front so they know what is about to happen and then give them the information * Introduction: Who am I? * Content: What will you teach me? * The Close: The offer * Your audience has to be sold on what you're selling them before you ever offer it to them * In the info-marketing world they present their offer up front then remove any objections they may have * This must follow the correct flow * Often we are too close to our business * When you're showing them intangible things it can be tougher * It may take 5-6 internal edits to perfect it * Cold traffic needs a longer close in your presentation but it's a delicate balance * "The textbook syndrome" is when you read the slides and give too much information * You'll confuse vs inspire your audience * You teach too much or too little * Use more slides * Use more analogies Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-sales-podcast/exclusive-content Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
