Episode Summary: Six years on, Corlys Velaryon, Lord of the Driftmark, is severely wounded fighting in the Stepstones. His brother, Ser Vaemond, petitions King's Landing to name him as Corlys' heir, proclaiming Rhaenyra's son, Lucerys illegitimate. Rhaenyra and Daemon return to the capital to defend Lucerys' claim. They find King Viserys is bedridden, disfigured, and his mind muddled. Queen Alicent and Ser Otto Hightower now oversee all royal duties. When Prince Aegon rapes a handmaiden, Alicent covers it up. Upon Ser Vaemond's arrival at the Red Keep, Rhaenyra proposes an arrangement to gain Princess Rhaenys' support. During a feast, the family appears to mend their differences. After Viserys leaves, Aemond incites a fight with a veiled insult against Rhaenyra's three oldest sons. Later, Viserys, near death, mutters parts of Aegon the Conqueror's dream, mistaking Alicent for Rhaenyra; Alicent believes he means their son, Aegon.

Flambierte Krabben, Hirsch am Spieß und eine abgestochene Sau: es ist alles angerichtet für uns zweites Recap zur neuen HBO- oder eben GAME OF THRONES-Serie HOUSE OF THE DRAGON. Wie es sich für eine ordentliche Chronologie gehört, nehmen Eddy, Tim und Schröck nun die 3. Folge unter die Lupe und schwadronieren über die Low- und Highlights dieser Episode. So nimmt der Kampf von Corlys Velaryon, der zusammen mit Daemon Targaryen gegen den gefährlichen Krabbenspeiser und seine Piraten um die Inselgruppe der Trittsteine kämpft, einen Großteil der Besprechung ein. Immerhin gehts dabei ordentlich zur Sache, es kommen gleich zwei Drachen zum Einsatz und eine Menge menschliches Personal wird ebenfalls verheizt, aufgeschlitzt oder zermatscht. Darüber hinaus beschäftigen wir uns aber auch mit dem immer größer werdenden Dilemma um König Viserys, der körperlich immer mehr verfällt und auch geistig von sehr vielen Speichelleckern, Intriganten oder eben potentiellen Schwiegersöhnen mental immer mürber gemacht wird. Und dann soll er auch noch einen Hirsch erledigen, um den 2. Geburtstag seines neuen Sohnes zu feiern - das kann einen Mann auch schon mal überfordern. Doch damit gibt er uns dann auch wieder jede Menge Gesprächsstoff, der hoffentlich mit genügend Unterhaltungspotential in Eure Augen und Ohren dringt. Aber bitte verzeiht uns, falls wir jetzt nicht alle Aspekte ausführlich aufgegriffen haben, wir kommen bestimmt noch zu dem einen oder anderen Thema zurück. Nur war es für Eddy heute das 1. Mal seit langer Zeit, da mussten erst noch ein paar Sachen aufgeholt werden. This episode covered many important events and was filled with the scheming and backstabbing we have become used to on Game of Thrones. Beware spoilers beyond this point. In this review we discuss Daemon's petty attempt to get attention from King Viserys, the blatant attempts of Corlys Velaryon to marry his daughter, Laena, to Viserys, the more subtle, and successful, scheme of Otto Hightower having his daughter, Alicent, become queen, and Rhaenyra being repressed by her father and the lords despite being extremely skilled, as well as a little reckless.

This episode we are really seeing the game of thrones beginning. The lines are starting to be drawn and allegiances are starting to form. This was a good one.  With the King facing pressure to marry, he has different voices in his ear telling him who he should marry...and all of it is for their own personal gain. By the way, I can't stand Otto....We also got to witness Rhaenyra starting to show she got that dawg in her...unlike her daddy.  Daemon has the kingdom in an uproar and showing them he want the smoke. The episode ended with Viserys choosing (more like Otto playing him), Alicent Hightower as his bride setting of Corlys Velaryon and Princess Rhae Rhae.
