Continuing our series on the films of Sidney Lumet, we take a look at Deathtrap (1982). Based on Ira Levin's hit stage play, the film follows a struggling playwright who becomes obsessed with a script written by one of his students. What follows is a series of twists, double-crosses, and surprises that make Deathtrap feel remarkably modern for a thriller of its era. Anchored by strong performances from Michael Caine and Christopher Reeve, the film keeps finding new ways to pull the rug out from under its audience. Enjoy our discussion of one of Lumet's most unique and entertaining films. Cinema Spectator is a movie podcast hosted by Isaac Ransom, Juzo Greenwood, and Cameron Tuttle. On Episode 617 of The Baller Lifestyle Podcast, Brian and Ed return with a packed show covering everything from celebrity absurdity to sports drama and truly unhinged news stories. They kick things off with a takedown of the Met Gala, questioning why it seems to happen every few months and why it gathers the most insufferable people in one place. The conversation quickly pivots to a wild celebrity relationship breakdown involving Zoë Kravitz, Harry Styles, and Channing Tatum—including Instagram poetry, size comparisons, and some brutally honest relationship analysis. From there, the guys move into their signature “Who Died” segment, remembering notable figures like: Patrick Muldoon (Days of Our Lives, Melrose Place) Dave Mason (Traffic co-founder) Roger Sweet (creator of He-Man) David Allan Coe (outlaw country legend) They also spiral into a hilarious and slightly disturbing discussion about He-Man, masculinity, and why that cartoon might not have been what they thought it was as kids. Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I'm honored to have back on the show: Satanic ritual abuse, mind control, Stargate Project, Freemason, Jesuit, and organized abuse survivor, overcomer and whistleblower, loving mother, content creator, faithful servant to the most high, former school teacher, gardener, floral design extraordinaire, singer and songwriter, poet, poetry and creative writer, and someone I'm so grateful to call my friend: Kadaya From infancy, Kadaya was subjected to horrific familial trafficking, ritual abuse and mind control programming involving things electroshock, drowning, and soul-shattering rituals designed to fracture her into dissociative identities. Her extraordinary intelligence and spiritual gifts were weaponized by programmers tied to Freemasons, Jesuits, and elite bloodlines, forcing her hidden alters into trafficking operations hidden behind churches, lodges, and institutions. Yet even in the darkness, a “happy childhood” front persona shielded her core self - until divine intervention began to awaken her.Despite heartbreaking betrayal Kadaya stands unbowed. A fierce mama bear, she fights for her children's freedom while exposing systemic abuse. Her burden for the imprisoned reflects the heart of Christ. On today's episode, we are bringing you an emergency address, breaking news, a display of corruption that is rotten to it's core. Recently Kadaya and another survivor - who all of you listening here know as her ‘training partner' - faced a horrific sequence of events and targeting that led to a real life altercation with authorities - aka: the network. In today's episode, Kaday's training partner will be revealed, more intimate details about her life and the life of her ‘training partner' will be revealed, details surrounding this criminal altercation will be revealed. All will be revealed. What is dark will today be drowned out by the light and the truth - guided by the power and authority of the Holy Spirit. This will be one of the most damning and important episodes we've ever done on this podcast, and I ask you all to sit and witness from start to finish. There will be video and photo evidence shown as well - if you are listening and not watching, I highly suggest moving to a platform with video if at all possible.
Superman sets aside his cape to prove his acting powers for this adaptation of a play about plays and murder. With an early death, numerous reversals, and enough weapons to make Chekhov choke, Sidney Lumet played it out differently than playwright Levin. Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine play cat and mouse in Deathtrap, while the Brains bust out their best yet.

As CEO of Nir-Yu, Luis Derechin helps startups and mid-market companies build nearshore teams across 11 Latin American countries that succeed - using the R.E.M.O.T.E. Intelligence framework he discovered and detailed in his Amazon bestseller, The Offshore Team Deathtrap. Even the smartest startup founders and mid-market executives get trapped when building offshore or nearshore teams. Not because they're inexperienced. Not because they chose the wrong country. Not because they made witting mistakes. It's because they fall into what Luis calls the "Offshore Team Death Trap" - a systematic set of 7 failure points that catch intelligent executives precisely because they appear legitimate and logical. 73% of offshore and nearshore teams fail within 18 months. Imagine stepping into court expecting justice… and instead walking into a death sentence. On this day in Tudor history, 25th July 1577, Queen Elizabeth I's top lawyer, Nicholas Barham, died in Oxford—not by blade or betrayal, but from a silent, invisible killer: gaol fever. Within weeks, over 500 people were dead, including judges, jurors, sheriffs, and townspeople. In this podcast, I, Claire Ridgway, historian and author, uncover: - Who Nicholas Barham was and his rise to power - How gaol fever (epidemic typhus) spread and killed - What other "Black Assizes" followed - Why even the powerful weren't safe from Tudor disease This story isn't just about one man—it's about the dangers of Tudor life, the limits of medical knowledge, and the shocking realities of a justice system where one infected prisoner could doom a whole court. Had you ever heard of the Black Assizes or gaol fever? Let me know in the comments. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell for more chilling, fascinating Tudor history! #TudorHistory #BlackAssize #GaolFever #OnThisDay #ElizabethanEngland #HistoryTube #ClaireRidgway #PlagueHistory #TrueHistory

We tend to think of tragedies as a single terrible moment, rather than the result of multiple bad decisions. Can this pattern be reversed? We try — with stories about wildfires, school shootings, and love. Peaches is back behind the mic for the Ones Ready Daily Drop, breaking down your Air Force and Space Force headlines with the perfect mix of sarcasm, salt, and a little bit of “are we really doing this?”We've got the Space Force talking satellite refuels, the Pentagon trying (again) to make combat standards gender-neutral, and junior enlisted finally getting a raise worth talking about. Also: a new biblical Joint Chiefs nominee, the F-47 getting ghosted from the budget, and one more T-38 almost going full kamikaze over DC. Buckle up.

Kimberly and Katie have dug into the archives to revisit the classic-est of all the classic Dateline episodes we've ever covered. This episode truly has everything: Pizza bomb. Casual lollipoping. Escape room fail. JJ the Scapegoat. Terrified coroner. A documentarian's white whale. A pretentious man in bib overalls. 400 pounds of government cheese in an attic in July. The worst courtroom sketch ever that you will see in your nightmares. A crack dealer fishing buddy. A prison snitch with epic goldenrod hair. Also Dennis Murphy in a cherry red windbreaker. All this in an episode full of chaos, we're left with one burning question: If having a garage fridge filled with beverages means that you've made it in life, what does having a dead body in a garage freezer mean? Official Description from NBCU: A man dies after robbing a bank when a bomb that was placed around his neck detonates. Dennis Murphy reports.
