This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from my own journey - “Sometimes it's a whisper to change how you work or how you live. It's not like ambition or ego or what the world tells us we should want. The purpose impulse is something deeper. It's innate. It's the voice of your spirit calling you back into alignment with who you really are. And while it may be quiet at first, it's persistent. If you ignore it, it doesn't disappear. It waits. It returns. It taps you on your shoulder, so to speak, whispering, this isn't it. There's something more.” You know that moment when everything on paper looks great - your career, your accomplishments, your life - and yet something inside still feels off? In this solo episode, I'm naming that feeling. I call it the purpose impulse, and I share my own story of how it showed up for me years ago while working in child protective services. It was quiet at first, but eventually, it became impossible to ignore. I'll walk you through what it feels like, why it matters, and how it could be guiding you toward something deeply real and meaningful in your own life. I also share a powerful moment that changed everything for me - a moment that helped me recognize that the path I was on no longer fit, even though it looked right from the outside. If you've ever felt like you're going through the motions, even while succeeding, this conversation is for you. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll learn how to recognize the subtle signs that you're out of alignment, even when everything looks “fine.” You'll hear a deeply personal story that helps explain what the purpose impulse really feels like, and why it matters. You'll get a simple, reflective question to help you reconnect with what your inner voice has been trying to tell you. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Tara Landes. She says – “I think once you've reached that pinnacle or if you're feeling like it's, it's empty or it's not enough, or even if you haven't reached the pinnacle but you're feeling somewhat unfulfilled, I really think that we're social creatures, and we have to find others to share that journey and passion with. Whatever it is, I just I really think that that's what kinda gets missed. We get so caught up on measuring success in terms of money or promotions. And so, really, I think if you're feeling a lack of purpose and a lack of passion, it's time to reach out into the community and find a way to be of service. You'll get way more back than you ever put in.” Tara Landes is the founder of BellRock Benchmark Inc., a Canadian management consulting firm that helps business leaders solve their most challenging problems and implement lasting organizational change. After years of working with small businesses across North America, she returned to her hometown of Vancouver, only to realize that the job she wanted didn't exist - so she built it herself. Drawing from both psychology and business management, Tara has become a trusted advisor to over 300 small business leaders. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: You'll hear how one woman turned a career crossroads into a thriving consulting business, without having a “perfect plan” in place. If you've ever felt unfulfilled despite success, Tara shares how finding purpose can come from leaning into your natural strengths, and helping others. You'll get a smart, practical take on building community, navigating hard times, and how being curious about what feels fun can lead to your purpose. This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Laura Zavelson. She says – “My advice or my thought would be if you have any interest in entrepreneurship or any seed of an idea, honor that and explore it because there are a lot of different paths your life can take, and there are ways to derisk entrepreneurship and make it more of a calculated risk rather than something, you know, you're just jumping into the unknown. And especially if you have experience in networking and you're a natural leader like the women you described. But if there's a group of people you'd like to help and a problem that you can solve, there are ways to explore that that can help reduce the risk. And you might unlock some real freedom for yourself to do something that lights you up.” Laura Zavelson is an MBA, a self-described corporate finance escapee turned serial entrepreneur, former professor of entrepreneurship, and business strategist. She helps Gen Xers - especially women - who've been laid off, pushed out, or burned out, turn their hard-earned experience into thriving coaching, consulting, or expert-based businesses. With 25 years of entrepreneurial experience behind her, Laura is committed to helping women create financial stability, flexibility, and freedom in their next chapter. Here are 3 reasons why you should listen to this episode: If you're a high-achieving woman in transition, Laura shares practical and relatable advice for starting something new - even if it's been a while since you tried. You'll learn why your career experience is more valuable than you think, and how it can be the foundation for a business that supports your life and values. Laura offers thoughtful encouragement for anyone who's ever wondered, “Do I really have something to offer?” (Spoiler: Yes, you absolutely do.) Welcome to the first episode of our "Women in Architecture" series, where this year's theme is Collaboration. In this episode Katerina is joined by Janiece Williams, co-founder of Leader Flow, a nonprofit that empowers professionals through leadership programs. Janiece shares her journey into architecture, her experiences with imposter syndrome, feeling disconnected during school, and how her classmates helped her push through those tough years. Janiece also opens up about the moment she took a step back after school to rethink why she was pursuing architecture, focusing instead on the business side of the profession. She discusses how she found her strengths, the opportunities that unfolded, and how a leadership program allowed her to combine her personal and architectural background. Together, Katerina and Janiece dive into the importance of stepping back to focus on what you truly want, rather than what's expected of you. Finally, Janiece shares what it was like co-founding Leader Flow and the incredible work they do, from their leadership programs to empowering professionals to collaborate and lead in small, connected cohorts across different cities. By creating these cohorts, individuals are taught how to foster long-term collaboration in the architecture industry and beyond. Today, I interview Dana Weaver, whose story starts with a pivotal moment during her childhood when her great-grandmother, a woman she adored, moved into a nursing home. Seeing the poor conditions in the facility sparked a realization in Dana that things needed to change. This event, coupled with her father's encouraging words, planted a seed in her heart that would later grow into her passion for leadership and advocacy in the field of aging.Throughout her early life, Dana faced challenges as she pursued her career in senior leadership roles, particularly as a woman in male-dominated fields. She witnessed many women in the workforce struggle to have their voices heard and break through glass ceilings. These experiences fueled her desire to support other women in finding their voices. Over time, Dana recognized the importance of effective leadership and the need for strong, compassionate leaders, especially in industries where people are caring for people. One of Dana's breakthrough moments came early in her career, when she was thrust into an eight-hour training session as the sole speaker. Despite her fears and lack of experience in public speaking, she pushed through and realized the importance of mastering the art of communication and leadership. This experience ignited a passion for speaking and teaching that eventually led her to become a keynote speaker and leadership coach. Today, Dana uses her own story of overcoming fear and adversity to inspire and guide professional women to embrace their leadership potential and make a lasting impact. Dana's story is a testament to the power of perseverance, vision, and heart-centered leadership, and her mission is to inspire women to rise above challenges and boldly claim their space in the world.__________________Dana Weaver, your go-to leadership coach, partners with professional women to help them find their confidence and influence, enabling them to break through glass ceilings and make their unique mark in the world. With over 25 years in senior leadership, Dana has made a significant impact on the field of aging.
Is that really what makes you whole? "I think having the intention around, what is it that you want to do, and really being honest with yourself. Are you doing it for this reason, or are you doing it for that reason? And does that fulfill you? Is that really what makes you whole? And a lot of times, we compromise to have that image and vision of what we think success is, and that success might not be fulfilling to us." This week's “How She Finds Purpose” insight comes from Tenia Davis, M.B.A., Ph.D. Tenia Davis is the author of the book, "8 Essential Steps to Inspire Others & Build a Thriving Workforce."

How do you bring your most powerful self forward from conception into pregnancy? What ways can you allow your birth to restructure and change the world? How do you own your pregnancy into birth? Are you and your baby ready for it? Back in the days before too much technology the women of the community came to support birth and the natural ways. Special Guest Episode: Anasuya Yogini (Denise French) is a seasoned Doula, Birth Keeper, and Childbirth Mentor with over 30 years of experience, having attended more than 500 births. Based in South Florida, Anasuya operates Anasuya LLC, offering comprehensive services in Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Contact: @anasuyallc In 1989, as a 26-year-old lawyer in Campinas, Brazil, Anasuya faced a transformative birthing experience. Despite being part of a squatting position study group led by Dr. Hugo Sabatino, the hospital's interventions contradicted her natural birthing plans. This ordeal, lasting 26 hours, inspired her commitment to empowering women in childbirth. Anasuya's dedication extends beyond traditional doula services; she offers Birth Mentor Packages, preparing mothers and partners throughout prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. Recognizing the importance of birthing rights, she initially attended many births as a contracted lawyer, defending the right to birth in peace. This unique fusion of legal expertise and birthing advocacy defines Anasuya's holistic and empowering approach, ensuring every woman can navigate childbirth with knowledge and confidence.
