With shortlists for most of the IIMs or Indian Institutes of Management out and the deadline for applications at management schools across the country approaching, students are in a fix over which b-school to choose. To simplify this process for prospective MBA students, Business Standard has come up with its annual B-School Survey. The survey ranks b-schools across different categories. The final ranking of the institutes that have participated this year has been obtained by arriving at a weighted composite score comprising the audit index and the perception index. The audit index is calculated on the basis of a self-audit, with suitable back-checks, by the B-schools on different parameters. The perception index is a weighted score arrived at by merging ratings obtained from the industry, such as those from alumni and HR professionals. Each parameter has been assigned a different weight based on the directions of an expert committee. Business schools in each category have been placed in an alphabetical order and don't follow their percentile scores. The top nine B-schools make up the Super League 1. The list includes The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) under the University of Delhi, IIMs in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode and Lucknow, Management Development Institute Gurgaon, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research Mumbai and XLRI Xavier School of Management Jamshedpur. The next is Super League 2. It has the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi at the top. Followed by Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. IMT Ghaziabad is ranked third in the category. Then comes the A1, A2, A3 and A4 Categories. Students who could make it to the top colleges can choose any of them. All of them have good placement records. To see the full list of rankings, visit business-standard.com. Based on three parameters (read them out), the survey has compiled the list of top colleges by return on investment. This include Department of Management Studies IIT Delhi, Faculty of Management Studies Delhi and Indian Instuitite of Management Bangalore among others. Business Standard also compiled a list of top 10 government and private colleges. While the top government colleges include the usual suspects, top private colleges are Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, Institute of Rural Management Anand and K J Somaiya Institute of Management Mumbai among others. Indian companies, mostly the IT firms which are facing huge attrition, are hiring like never before. And it may go on for the next few years. For example, at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, final placement ended within three days. . Of the 112 firms that registered, 57 had to be sent apology letters. Watch video

They can lead to high unit costs, which may mean higher selling prices and, therefore, reduced sales. These are the challenges most US-based e-commerce sellers have been facing since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. For over a year, there have been shortages and delays in getting containers — and even when available, the shipping charges have more than tripled. In this episode of the Buy Box Experts podcast, James Thomson is joined by e-commerce sellers Sanjay Chandiram, Chuck Gregorich, and Rick Fung to discuss how shipping delays and increased shipping costs have impacted Amazon brands. The sellers talk about the changes they've made to reduce overall business costs, the lessons they've learned over the last year, and their thoughts on the future of the e-commerce market.

In this episode… Over the last year, many e-commerce businesses in the US have experienced delays in products being shipped from Asia. This, in addition to an exponential increase in importation costs, has had a negative impact on their businesses, revenue, and brand reputation. So, what is causing these delays and high costs, and what can you do about it? According to Amazon experts Sanjay Chandiram, Chuck Gregorich, and Jerry Kavesh, the delays at the ports can be traced back to an increase in demand for products, a shortage of containers, and delayed customs clearance. As they say, the effects of these shipping issues have been felt not just by sellers but also by retail stores, buyers, and customers. Luckily, they have some tried-and-true strategies for working around these disruptions and making the most out of the current shipping situation. In this week's episode of the Buy Box Experts podcast, James Thomson is joined by Amazon experts Sanjay Chandiram, Chuck Gregorich, and Jerry Kavesh to talk about the shipping delays and high importation costs of products coming out of Asia. They discuss what has caused these disruptions, how they have affected business operations on Amazon, and the strategies sellers can take to ensure that their products get shipped on time. Stay tuned.

It's also wonderful for you as a parent! In this episode, we dive into: “University Life & Sleep” Professor Krishnan's origin story and how did he reach this space of being Director at IIMB? Upto 60% of college students suffer from poor sleep quality. As someone who is an integral part of so many people's formative years in college, what does he see are sleep challenges among them? Does it need to be that way? From 2010-2018, sleep disturbances significantly increased in college students with 25% of them having difficulties. This can have short term and long term cognitive and behavioural repercussions. Research has found 60% of them having insomnia. This can impact academic performance. Do universities need to bring in sleep quality and mental health screening programs? Is counselling a part of IIMB? By supporting students in improving sleep, it can contribute to helping them with better memory, improved grades, less health challenges, decreased risk of falling sick, improved mood, better performance and less mental health challenges. Do universities in India have support in place for helping their students to sleep better? How would he advice students that supporting themselves with better sleep and improved health is actually beneficial to them? Social psychology is the scientific study of individuals in society. An immense body of work has demonstrated that social cues, such as the facial expressions and body language of others, affect our motivation. One line of research suggests that autonomy-supportive instructions enhance motivation. However, this work has primarily been conducted in Western contexts and relatively little has been established about the universality of such effects across different cultures. Dr Ritu Tripathi at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and her colleagues are working to overcome this knowledge gap, with important theoretical and methodological implications for the business world and beyond.

This episode is the 100th Episode of Audiogyan and I am super honoured to have none other than Prof. Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi (Born in 1927). I decided to mark this 100th episode with living legend of design and architecture. Doshi sir is considered to be an important figure of South Asian architecture and noted for his contributions to the evolution of architectural discourse in India. His more noteworthy designs include the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and the Aranya Low Cost Housing development in Indore which was awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. In 2018, he became the first Indian architect to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize. I am completely aware of my limitations while taking interview of a person of this stature but a humble and genuine effort to document Prof Doshi’s thoughts on design. 1. What is your philosophy / ideology while designing? For eg. Laurie Baker worked on more cost effective, energy efficient architecture, Or Charles Correa is celebrated for his sensitivity to the needs of the urban poor. In short, what does the word “Design" Mean to you? The Pritzker jury announced that you have "always created an architecture that is serious, never flashy or a follower of trends”. What is the secret behind it? 2. What according to you is the reason that cities have started looking similar. Same flyovers, same glass and steel buildings? Have spaces become more inclusive as we are evolving? What is the role of architects in giving character to these structures? And has there been any innovation to improve the working style of the people lower in the pyramid? Do you think architects should address these concerns? 3. How has RCC changed lives of architects and designers? Has it become more challenging or less? How has the landscape changed because of RCC 4. What are your thoughts on Vastu Shashtra when it comes to architecture? 5. What according to you is the difference between good and great? To further ask this question, as per my knowledge, an artist or a designers should ensure that he or she is consuming the right content, be in an appropriate environment to nurture and grow artistic sensitivities. What is your take on it? How can one go about building their own styles?
