The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Full Reaction Watch Along: / thereelrejects Visit https://huel.com/rejects to get 15% off your order The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Reaction • THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) MOVIE R... With Monster: The Ed Gein Story releasing on Netflix, it's time for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) reaction, recap, commentary, analysis, & spoiler review! Directed by Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th remake, Pathfinder), this Michael Bay reboot of Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic reimagines Leatherface and the Sawyer family in a modern, terrifying way. Starring Jessica Biel (The Illusionist, Total Recall), Jonathan Tucker (The Ruins, Kingdom), Erica Leerhsen (Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, Wrong Turn 2), Mike Vogel (Cloverfield, The Help), and Eric Balfour (Skyline, Six Feet Under), with R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket, Se7en) as the menacing Sheriff Hoyt, the film became a cult horror phenomenon despite mixed reviews. Popular scenes include Jessica Biel running through the slaughterhouse, Leatherface's chase with the chainsaw, the infamous meat hook sequence, and the grim ending in the police car footage. Iconic quotes like “Welcome to Texas, motherf***er!” and “My family's always been in meat” cement this as one of the most infamous remakes in horror history. With Netflix spotlighting Ed Gein's real-life influence and Leatherface being one of horror's most enduring villains, it's the perfect time to revisit The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003). The combined forces of Michael Bay, Marky Mark, and The Rock team up for this juiced up, roided out crime comedy based on a true story that's stranger than fiction. What happens when a bunch of Miami bodybuilders decide they're too swole for the 9-to-5 grind? Apparently, they skip leg day and go straight to felony. In this episode, we dive into the protein-packed, crime-riddled chaos of the Sun Gym Gang—a crew of gym rats who thought kidnapping, extortion, and murder sounded like a solid business plan. Led by Daniel Lugo, a man with more ambition than brains, and Adrian Doorbal, who could bench press a Buick but couldn't spell “alibi,” this gang's criminal spree was so outrageous it eventually became a Hollywood movie: Pain & Gain. Spoiler alert—Michael Bay made it look like a comedy, but the real story is more “WTF” than “LOL.” We'll unpack the botched plans, the bizarre disguises, and the moments that make you wonder how these guys ever managed to tie their own shoelaces, let alone pull off a kidnapping. It's a tale of muscles, money, and monumental stupidity—and yes, it's all horrifyingly true. A true Hollywood legend — Butch Cassidy, The Sting, All the President's Men — Redford left us not just with an iconic filmography but also Sundance, a festival that gave countless indie movies a life. This week, we pay tribute by reviewing Indecent Proposal (1993).It's the one where a young, loved-up couple (Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore) are offered a cool million dollars by Redford's billionaire for one night with the wife. A sleazy premise? Absolutely. But it was a 90s cultural flashpoint that had everyone asking: what would you do?What we coverRedford as a twinkly-eyed predator — suave, charming, but pure sociopath energy.Woody Harrelson's “character growth” (spoiler: remembering to take his muddy shoes off the table).Demi Moore stuck as the literal bargaining chip between two men.Erotic sax solos, visible erections, and more money-on-the-bed shots than you can shake a hippo at.Why this could've been a sharp morality tale, but instead feels like a glossy objectification exercise. The cultural lens shift: what audiences excused in 1993 versus what plays as flat-out toxic today. As always, expect detours into visible erections, Michael Bay's slow-mo dice shots, hippos at auctions, Oliver Platt being a slimy lawyer, and whether we'd personally take the money (spoiler: the negotiations got weird).“Hard recommend? Hard pass? Or just Woody being… hard?”We love to hear from our listeners! By which I mean we tolerate it. Michael Bay's "Transformers" was back in theaters for a night last week, so I took some time to talk all about it. Do the visual effects still hold up? In this episode of the Web3 Marketing Association Podcast, hosts Dave Wallace and Suresh Balaji are joined by Hrish Lotlikar, co-founder and CEO of Superworld, to explore the bold vision of building a virtual layer over the entire planet.Hrish shares his extraordinary journey—from investment banking and venture capital in emerging markets to launching startups in AR, VR, gaming, and entertainment alongside Hollywood names like Michael Bay. These experiences inspired the creation of Superworld, a platform that allows users to own, create, and monetise virtual real estate mapped directly onto the physical world. The conversation explores how Superworld combines gaming mechanics with real-world relevance: users can “put down roots” in virtual plots of land linked to real geography, while brands can build immersive experiences, experiment with new products, or extend customer engagement into hybrid physical-digital spaces. Unlike purely virtual worlds, Superworld's foundation on Earth ensures durability and relevance—your virtual assets retain value because they're tied to real locations.Hrish also emphasises Superworld's mission to be a life-enhancing platform, not a life-escape platform. Inspired by the lessons of The Social Dilemma, the vision is to use AR, VR, and Web3 technologies to enrich people's real lives rather than distract from them—what Hrish calls “live to earn”. Accessibility is key: Superworld is designed to be hardware-agnostic and interoperable across web, mobile, wearables, and future devices. This inspiring discussion highlights how Web3 can reshape ownership, identity, and community—not by drawing people away from reality, but by enhancing how we live, connect, and create in the world around us.

Battle for the Conn: Tony Scott's Crimson Tide You can never get enough Denzel Washington. This week Mr. Chavez & I sit down to talk the first of five collaborations with director Tony Scott, 1995s Crimson Tide. This first collaboration of Washington and Scott would fall almost directly in the middle of Scott's career and would be the fourth collaboration between Scott and the Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer producing behemoth. This episode of WatchThis W/RickRamos takes a look at the relationship between Scott and his producing partners; the creation of the look and style that would come to define a great deal of 80s and 90s action films, as well as the relationship betwen Scott's style and what would later be adopted and expanded on by Michael Bay. We also take a look at the tremendous star power in pitting Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman against one another in a film that makes palpable argument for both of their characters. Two of the greatest actors of the last quarter of the 20th Century elevating everything about a film that Mr. Chavez & I are divided on. Take a listen and let us know what you think. We had an Awesom-O time reviewing this week's episode, which sees Cartman become Butters' new robot friend. Remarkably, this story is more relevant now than it was 20 years ago, as we see the entertainment industry rely more and more on the use of AI in the creative process. We also discuss Parker and Stone's love of Michael Bay cliches, Dando wetting the bed, the career of Adam Sandler and more.LISTEN on Spotify - spoti.fi/4fzFQbj LISTEN on Apple - apple.co/4fCJmBvWATCH on YouTube - bit.ly/southparkpodcastSupport the Four Finger Discount Network for EARLY & AD-FREE access to every show we produce, as well as 100 hours of exclusive content! Pain & Gain is Michael Bay's magnum opus, a razor-sharp dissection of the American id. This movie has it all: Con artistry, prosperity gospel, and drugs, drugs, drugs! It also features career-best performances of Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, and Anthony Mackie, and it's easily Bay's best movie. Indeed, it's a look at an alternate career for Johnson where he could play interesting, complicated, vulnerable characters like he does in this movie. Instead, he made a bunch of movies with big cars and/or gorillas. Still, Pain & Gain is an absolute blast and we had a great time breaking it down, marveling at how much fun it is and how well it predicted what America would feel like in 2025. Next week: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) The Summer of Rock is our summer 2025 miniseries covering the movie career of Dwayne Johnson through nine movies, presented in chronological order. Starting with his attempt at crossing over from the world of wrestling, The Rock's career got off to a bumpy start before finally taking off in the 2010s. But it wasn't long before the bumps returned, and we'll be telling the story for you all summer long! Much like The Bodyguard, ARMAGEDDON's primary legacy is its MTV-Movie-Award-Winning song, a little Aerosmith ditty called I Don't Want To Miss a Thing. What does that say about the movie, and would it be different if Bay's film didn't live under the shadow of Independence Day? Could the Criterion Collection be wrong, or are they ahead of the curve on this one? America to the rescue once again! Unfortunately, critics were a little harder to wow only two years after Independence Day had been the talk of the town and ARMAGEDDON got stamped with a 43% rotten Tomatometer score. Zo and the rest of the world are negotiating with catastrophe as everyone has to come to accept the unreal reality of the sky falling down. In this case the sky is falling down in the shape and form of a devastating meteor shower. These aren't the normal types of meteors that normally burn up in the Earth's atmosphere; these bad boys are gigantic - the size of Volkswagens and mailboxes. They come from outer space and punch through the globes protective layer like so much tin foil, burning on their way to untold destruction. On impact they punch holes in buildings and send tractor trailers hurling through the air, but this is just a harbinger. The real threat is Dottie, an asteroid of unspeakable size. It's an extinction level event just waiting to happen. The only thing that stands in it's way are a rowdy gang of professional oil drillers with a crazy plan to dig a hole in the ornery space rock and plant a nuclear bomb inside. It's a plan so crazy that it just might work and if it doesn't then it's the extinction of most of the life on the planet. It's means the event that's been foretold in the Bible had come to pass . . . Armageddon. Explosions, wisecracks, and that unforgettable slow-mo shirtless sprint—this week, the No More Late Fees crew is going full Michael Bay with Bad Boys! Jackie and Danielle are joined by Jamie from Millennial Misery to relive the buddy cop chaos that launched a franchise (and gave us sweaty Will Smith in an open silk shirt). From high-octane car chases to questionable wig choices, they unpack every explosive twist, behind-the-scenes feud, and fishy bathroom brawl—literally, there are fish flying during one of the fight scenes. It's Bayhem at its finest and most orange-tinted.Along the way, the trio dishes out fun facts, recasts that almost happened (Dana Carvey as Mike Lowry?!), and the messy origins of Bad Boys that somehow still gave us action movie gold. They even manage to connect it all to Dexter and Denny's. It's nostalgic chaos you don't want to miss. So grab a Coke and a smile and press play—because this episode is ride-or-die hilarious.·Season 5 Episode 13·—No More Late Fees https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com909-601-NMLF (6653)—Follow Us on Social:Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/nomorelatefees TikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@nomorelatefees Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/nomorelatefeesYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/@nomorelatefees Twitterhttps://x.com/NoMoreLateFees —CONQUERingmyconquering.com10% Off Code: JACKIE10—NostaBeautyhttps://nostabeauty.com 20% Off Code: NMLF—JamieInstagramhttps://www.instagram.com/millennial_miseryhttps://www.instagram.com/hrbestiespodhttps://www.instagram.com/humorous_resourceshttps://www.instagram.com/the_chiefmemeofficerPrevious EpisodesAnchormanhttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/anchormanStay Classy Millennials: Ranking the Y2K Will Ferrell-versehttps://nomorelatefeespodcast.com/episode/stay-classy-millennials-ranking-the-y2k-will-ferrell-verse
