Today's episode is a little different and is much more of a review and list of some great date day/night locations in and around Dayton, starting with the Teapot Cafe Lounge in Dayton, which just had its grand opening yesterday on Valentine's Day. The Teapot Cafe Lounge bills itself as Ohio's first infused coffee shop lounge, and you can get infused drinks, edibles, and smokeables there. All of them were really good and I definitely recommend checking the place out! Their website (www.teapotcafelounge.com) is still under construction, but you can find them on Facebook at https://teapotcafelounge.com/. After that we headed over to West Social Tap and Table and got some lumpia from Lumpia Queen. It's definitely one of our favorite spots to go to get something to eat, especially if we're both in the mood for different things. There's a great bar in the center of it as well and you can stop in the National Aviation Historic Park across the street if you're wanting to make it an educational date. Visit https://westsocialtapandtable.com/ to find hours and vendor information.  Next up was Nails on Brown for a pedicure, and it's just hands down one of our favorite places to go to get one. They do a great job and you don't feel rushed or nickel and dimed when you visit. 10/10 would recommend! Visit https://www.nailsonbrown.com/ and book your appointment ahead of time. After that we visited Tokyo Grill Sushi Bar and Hibachi Buffet, and it was all delicious. There are a couple of locations in the area, but I would venture to guess that all are really good.  Finally, we ended the night at the Monkey Bar and Grill, and the story behind the name alone is worth the visit. Definitely check it out sometime, and I would recommend doing it in the spring or summer when you can sit outside and admire the view of the river. In the US, 1 TRILLION dollars is lost every year because sales and marketing teams don't coordinate together. In today's episode of Aligned, our host Sean Doyle meets with Tim Parkin to talk about how to optimize your marketing and sales departments. The Unpopular Truth Although people don't enjoy hearing it, as a consultant, the NUMBER ONE thing Parkin tells clients is: Marketing is processing. Creativity and other factors come into play, but the key aspect of marketing is processing. Having reliable and proven processes to follow is CRITICAl for marketing teams. A Common Language Beyond processes, another thing that prevents proper coordination between sales and marketing teams is Communication. Sales teams and marketing teams speak two COMPLETELY different languages from each other. There are three different suggestions Parkin has for bridging the language barrier: Having table stakes meetings, hosting revenue operations, and again, having solid processes. Late Stage Marketing Another issue that prevents marketers from working effectively with sellers is how marketers often step OUT of the process after-sales take over when marketing teams should be involved throughout the ENTIRE sale cycle. In marketing, there's a concept called centricity. Centricity refers to the client being the CENTER of the sales process. Sellers and marketers have to focus on centricity. Marketers can contribute to the sales cycle by reminding buyers of their current issue and how whatever they're thinking of buying can solve their issue. When buyers prepare to buy, they'll often look back on their current situation and avoid making the purchase, because change requires effort. The Monkey Bar Method Parkin utilizes a technique called the Monkey Bar method whenever he's working with different clients. He's seen TREMENDOUS success from it. Essentially, the method focuses on providing buyers with ALL the information they need. Buyers come into sales with a lot of different questions. In one instance, Parkin worked with a trade school that taught students a few different skills. Whenever students would go onto the school's website, they would find different programs. In the pages for the programs, instead of keeping things short, Parkin gave students an extra page discussing career opportunities for different skills. By focusing on centricity, and offering extra information, Parkin saw a SURGE in lead transformation and success. Focus on centricity, and provide ALL the information leads need. 5 Key Attributes of Great Processes Parkin has identified 5 KEY attributes that all of the best marketing processes share. The first attribute is: Being written down. The second attribute is: Having some sort of visual. The third attribute is: Being shared and communicated. The fourth attribute is: Being measurable. The final attribute is: Being regularly evaluated and adjusted. If you want to get in contact with Parkin, you can go to his website or call him at 407-499-0303.

We're back for Season 2! And we are having lots of conversations with Christ Chapel women that you do not want to miss. This episode is no exception. Patty Cecil and Kate Tokar join Kathy Harrelson to discuss the heart of prayer – both talking and listening to God. They share about times when God has said yes and when God has said no to their requests. While they admit that they still have a lot to learn about prayer, they willingly invite us into both the intimate and practical parts of their prayer lives. To find out more about our community or how to get involved in the Fort Worth area (Tarrant, Parker, & Johnson County locations), visit us online at www.ccbcfamily.org/women or find us on Instagram @christchapelwomen.

Transcript: Hello, this is Pastor Don of Christ Redeemer Church. Welcome to The Kingdom Perspective. Fear is a monster that must be confronted. In the Psalms King David is constantly confronting his fear by bringing it into the presence of God. Listen to his prayer in Psalm 27: Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. I think it is safe to say that David is not suggesting that he never experienced fear. Rather, the context would seem to suggest that whenever he is afraid, he takes that fear to God. He confronts it head on. He walks into it and not away from it. Interestingly, studies suggest that children who learn to face their fear (even real danger) and walk through it, grow in their confidence to process future difficulties and dangers. For example, who is more controlled by fear? The child who broke his arm falling off the monkey bars or the one who one who's never taken the risk to climb the monkey bars for fear of getting hurt? One might assume that it is the one with the broken arm; after all he's experienced the pain. However, research shows the opposite. The one that was hurt on the monkey bars has worked through the fear. Indeed, he has emotionally processed it, and come out on the other side. Where the one that has never taken the risk becomes more locked down in fear. Fear only grows more ferocious when we do not face it. It controls us to the degree that we do not confront it. Remember, David developed the courage to face Goliath because, as a young shepherd, he had so often fended off lions and bears (1 Samuel 17). You see, there is a paradox with fear. It is one of the few things in life that actually grows smaller the closer we get to it. Something to think about from The Kingdom Perspective. When the words which David spoke were heard, they told them to Saul, and he sent for him. David said to Saul, “Let no man's heart fail on account of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” Then Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth while he has been a warrior from his youth.” But David said to Saul, “Your servant was tending his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a lamb from the flock, I went out after him and attacked him, and rescued it from his mouth; and when he rose up against me, I seized him by his beard and struck him and killed him. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has taunted the armies of the living God.” And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and may the Lord be with you.” ~ 1 Samuel 17:31-37 (NASB)
