Are you holding onto things God has told you to eliminate? In this thought-provoking episode, Purpose Williams and "The Elder" dive deep into the dangers of compromised obedience through the compelling biblical contrast between Kings Saul and David. What made David "a man after God's own heart" while Saul was rejected as king? Despite David's notorious failures, his heart remained centered on God, while Saul's heart was ultimately centered on himself. When confronted with their sins, David immediately turned to God in genuine repentance, while Saul offered excuses and prioritized saving face. The conversation introduces the "Six C's of Christian-ish" – Compromised Obedience, Copying Culture, Counterfeit Spirituality, Crafty Excuses, Condoning Sin, and Casual Repentance – warning signs that we're becoming selective about which parts of our faith we'll embrace. As Purpose notes, "Selective obedience is still disobedience," a reality that cost Saul everything. We explore how positions from God are given as gifts of grace rather than earned achievements. When we fail to steward these positions well, we essentially dethrone ourselves. The speakers share personal stories of learning to surrender harmful appetites – from coffee and soda to destructive relationships – illustrating how often what "tastes good" to us is actually causing damage. This episode offers a powerful challenge: stop keeping what you should be killing. Whether it's unhealthy attachments, sinful habits, or simply areas where God has called you to surrender, true discipleship requires complete obedience, not just the parts that feel comfortable.Take a moment today to ask yourself: What am I holding onto that God has asked me to release? Your throne may depend on your answer. Subscribe now and join us next week as we continue exploring what it truly means to follow Christ wholeheartedly.Support the showSunday Schoolers!! Join Maria and Michelle today as they share some effective tips for building an effective onboarding process. Now you may be wondering where to start and what is the first thing you should do. Always ask yourself: what am I trying to achieve in this process? Then, consider the six Cs of a successful onboarding process which Michelle addresses in this episode:  culture, connection, clarification, compliance, competence, and confidence. Next, they proceed to share the seven steps to building a better onboarding process. As Michelle nicely puts it, these steps are the building blocks of onboarding success. As you put your onboarding together, Michelle suggests you make sure you weave your culture into it instead of just stating your values in an opening document or statement. What's also vital to understand is that you should always be open to making necessary adjustments as you go because the world is changing at a rapid pace - as the world changes, it's inevitable that your employees will change with it. Michelle and Maria conclude the episode by encouraging you to reassess and revamp your onboarding process when needed. Establish your building blocks individually, and then weave them all together to set your new hires up for success.  The Finer Details of This Episode: The importance of setting a clear onboarding goal The six Cs of a successful onboarding process The seven building blocks of onboarding success Making the pre-boarding process more engaging Weaving your culture into the onboarding process Adjusting your company to a new environment Quotes: “There are always commonalities in the world… one of those being that onboarding is seen as a checklist of activities that you are required to do by some internal or external deciding party.” “Think about that as it relates to your compliance. Are you checking a box, or are you actually teaching your people to be better?” “Two podcasts ago, we gave you tips on how to do some research to assess whether or not your onboarding was effective. That particular podcast… will now help you to write your business case for why you need to address onboarding.” “You do need to shake things up just a little bit by including something that, instead of being a handbook with 20,000 words, is a really quick video with lots of employees, talking about how they see the organization.” “Orientation is about nothing other than who we are and how we behave. That means it's your purpose, it's your vision, it's your mission, it's your values, it's your organizational structure.” “I think of it more as a thread that ties all of this together versus being a call out.” “Onboarding is going to look different for every role.” “A vision is irrelevant if the people that work for you do not live that vision.” Show Links: REL Talent: HR Consulting Email REL Talent REL Talent on LinkedIn

With the average age of first-time home buyers rising in many countries, co-living has become increasingly popular. For most people it may sound like student digs, but communal living blocks are designed for millennials and young professionals. Occupants or ‘guests' have a micro flat or apartment and access to luxury communal spaces that could include swimming-pools, gardens and in some, even a chicken coop. The units are also built to be ‘green', for less of an impact on the environment. Global real estate investment platform, Wealth Migrate has teamed up with Australian co-living developer BNTO, formerly known as Six C, to offer co-living investments as a new asset class. Scott Picken from Wealth Migrate told BizNews that co-living has been one of the most resilient asset classes during the pandemic. Added to this, said Riaan van der Vyver, occupancy rates and yield per square metre is high for co-living investments. Jason Eggleton from BNTO told BizNews Australia is an ideal destination for co-living investments, as Brisbane and Sydney are experiencing a shortfall - and says it's going to take decades for this to change. – Linda van Tilburg Learn more about your ad choices. This series has highlighted 13 Keys to Effectiveness as a Missionary. Every one of them could also be applied to our local church and to ourselves in our spiritual life. This wrap-up episode gives two other simple concepts for evaluation of missionary candidates, in particular: a battery of straightforward questions, and what Propempo calls the "Six C-s". The over-arching concept of all of this is that the local church has a vital, biblical role in raising up, developing, evaluating, sending, and shepherding missionaries. Solid attention to these things in the early stages will reap huge rewards in effectiveness, faithfulness, longevity, and, we believe, fruitfulness on the field. May it be so, for God's glory!

One of the most important ethical obligations a lawyer has is knowing when to tell their client “no.” But how do you know when that moment has come, and how do you deal with it? For legal ethics experts Lawrence J. Fox and Susan R. Martyn, teaching their fellow attorneys how to cope with the dilemmas they may run into at their practices has been a passion for years. It’s also behind their seventh book together, the recently released Fair Fight: Legal Ethics for Litigators. Told in a storytelling format, the book strives to be a reference manual that is also a good read. Starting a business can be daunting, so it’s a good idea to go into the process with a plan of action. How can you, an entrepreneur, start your journey with greater peace of mind? Additionally, once you’ve achieved success in the industry, how can you scale your business without sacrificing their personal lives? On this episode, I answer these questions by applying what I call the Six C’s of True Business Freedom. If the amount of money you make is based on the hours you work, your business isn’t scalable.- Lars Hedenborg   3 Things We Learned From This Episode When starting your business, ensure you make proper commitments you have the courage to stick to. While doing this, you’ll be building your capabilities and, in turn, your confidence. As an entrepreneur, you have to be able to deal with uncertainty and be willing to give up some control. This is the only way to make your business scalable. Business success should not come at the expense of your family life or your health. You need to find ways to scale your business.   When starting your own business, it’s important to be prepared for the challenge ahead. You need to be dedicated, naturally. However, remember that in most cases when businesses don’t do well, it’s because the person at the helm has never relinquished any control, or desperately requires certainty. Go into entrepreneurship remembering why you chose the path in the first place! You want to be able to make more money without doing more work. By working with this in mind, you’re already a step closer to true business freedom.

Most Solopreneurs love the autonomy and freedom they get from owning their own business but also crave collaboration and don’t want to do it alone. But, how do you create successful strategic partnerships? Tara Butler Floch, "the coaches' coach" shares her wealth of experience and knowledge on the different types of strategic partnerships and what to look for in a desirable business partner. On this episode, she dives deep into how to overcome obstacles to creating lasting strategic alliances and reveals her six-step plan to attract the right partner. Tara Butler, CPCC, PCC of Broadview Coaching is known as “The coaches’ coach”.  She has been passionately committed to helping entrepreneurs launch and grow simple, joyous, and prosperous businesses since 2000 when she founded her own consulting and coaching practice.  She has helped hundreds of clients create meaningful, sustainable, thriving businesses. As a coach herself, she witnessed many passionate coaches quit their full time job to launch their practice, only to put their dream on the shelf because they didn’t know how to build a successful practice and couldn’t do it on their own.  Tara was first introduced to coaching in 1995 after hiring a coach in her first executive role at PhotoDisc where she ran their worldwide Sales & Service organization for 4 years.  She found that it significantly impacted her effectiveness and execution, her personal and professional relationships, and her work/life balance.  It planted a seed in her that sprouted into her own personal development journey. Sales at PhotoDisc grew to $150 million in her tenure before it merged with Getty Images, where Tara went on to have several Executive Roles (there and elsewhere) before realizing she wanted to merge her passion for business with her love of personal development and start her own consulting and coaching company. She thrives on helping others overcome obstacles and realize their highest potential.  It drew her to become a Board Member of The Excellence Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers personal development programs, and later became their Executive Director for over a year. Show Notes 05:25 – Why are strategic partnerships beneficial? 11:00  – What are some challenges with creating strategic partnerships? 13:50 –  What are the types of strategic partnerships? 28:45 – What are the desirable qualities of a partnership?
