Adam Hurrey is joined on the midweek Adjudication Panel by Charlie Eccleshare and David Walker. On the agenda: the nichest world record in football is shattered once again, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's ex-footballer/Strictly contestant spiel, the extinguishing of Celeste's five-year Sky Sports flame, why Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Leeds just feels so right, throwaway footballspeak in Homer's Iliad and the Robert Earnshaw of bedwetting. Meanwhile, the panel run through some niche Premier League predictions for 2025-26, including the first 10 guests on Monday Night Football. Matt Davies is joined by Seb Hutchinson as he prepares to commentate on Nottingham Forest's Premier League opener against Brentford on Sunday for Sky Sports. We'll preview that game and discuss the CAS verdict which saw Nottingham Forest play in the Europa League at the expense of Crystal Palace. We also talk transfers as Forest look set to sign James McAtee from Manchester City and assess the state of the squad as Dan Ndoye replaces Anthony Elanga while Morgan Gibbs-White is staying and not going on strike, unlike Alexander Isak, which we also mention. #NFFC #nottinghamforest
Owen, and latterly Graham in Bangkok, discuss Liverpool's porous 2-2 draw and subsequent loss to Crystal Palace on penalties in the Community Shield 2025. With the season nigh, Liverpool have some working out to do: what happens if Gravenberch gets injured or is absent? How do we stop looking so vulnerable? On the other hand, there were a few bright positives from today: most shiningly, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, who combined superbly while on the field together. It was another light weekend in big time boxing, but we do have a card to discuss. Plus, hear from a prominent boxing play by play broadcaster and the guys also go over the horrible news of not one, but two Japanese fighters off the same early August card dying after their fights. It's all on the "Fight Freaks Unite Recap Podcast."Host T.J. Rives is back with insider Dan Rafael of his Fight Freaks Unite Substack and newsletter to go over it all.Dan has the recap of the Friday card in Benghazi, LibyaFeatherweight Mirco Cuello big KO2 of Sergio Rios Jimenez and wins (don't laugh) the vacant WBA interim title. Also, light heavyweight Albert Ramirez scored an impressive TKO of Jerome Pampellone, and also wins a vacant WBA interim title. And, a large upset as lightweight Francisco Fonseca decisioned Sofiane Oumiha on this card.Next, hear a portion of our Youtube live show with DAZN's Todd Grisham. Grisham talks the recent Oscar Duarte and Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez wins in broadcasts he's done, as we play a portion of the show. Then, some NewsHoriibly, two Japanese fighters both suffered fatal brain injuries on the same August 2nd Teiken Promotions card in Tokyo – junior lightweight Shigetoshi Kotari died on Friday after fighting to a draw in the 12-round main event and lightweight Hiromasa Urakawa died on Saturday following an eighth-round KO loss in an eight-rounder. It's awful and Dan explains more about how neither fight seemed to be leading to such a tragic ending. Also, the Japanese Boxing Committee will now look to shorten some regional title fights out of safety concerns.Next, lineal/unified light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol will be sidelined for the rest of the year after undergoing back surgery in his hometown of Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Friday. We have more, including does this maybe mean that Artur Beterbiev and David Benavidez might fight each other, if they both win on the November Riyadh Season Card in Saudi Arabia? Not unexpectedly, WBC/IBF bantamweight champion Junto Nakatani announced he will vacate his titles and move up junior featherweight, putting him in Naoya Inoue's division for a possible all-Japan mega fight in the spring. And, after Sky Sports declined to renew its broadcast deal with Boxxer Promotions, one of the United Kingdom's leading promoters, it has struck a deal with the BBC, which has not shown boxing in 21 years. Dan goes over it all. It's all on the "Fight Freaks Unite Recap Podcast" and make sure to follow/subscribe on Apple/Spreaker/Spotify, etc.!

Sky News Sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao joins Georgie for a deeply personal conversation about resilience, identity, and what sport has taught her about life. From a humble upbringing to the Olympic stage, Jacquie shares how her dream of competing in rhythmic gymnastics at the 1984 Los Angeles Games became a reality — despite the heartbreak of losing her mum just weeks before. She reflects on the emotional chaos of that time, the support of her sisters and coach, and the determination that pushed her through. That same mindset would carry her into the male-dominated world of sports broadcasting, where she became one of the few women on screen at Sky Sports, juggling career, motherhood, and relentless early starts.Jacquie also opens up about her long battle with breast cancer, including a stage-four diagnosis during lockdown. Her approach to treatment — combining medical care with fierce positivity and mental visualisation — is both unique and inspiring. From emotional Olympic memories to crying in the press box at Wimbledon, Jacquie's story is one of grit, humour, and humanity. This is a deeply moving episode that explores what it really means to overcome — and how sport can shape the way we face life's toughest challenges. The ainslie + ainslie Performance People podcast talks to high-performers in the world of sport and beyond, to bring defining moments, hard-earned insights and expert advice to everyday performance. Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme recap an eventful Friday from Royal Portrush - a two-shot penalty for a moving ball, bats in the studio, and an untimely hot mic situation! The highlight of the day on the course was World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler posting 64 to head into the weekend with a one-shot lead. SK and CH also discuss the performances of Brian Harman, Tyrrell Hatton, and Harris English, and touch on a Sky Sports report that Keegan Bradley will be on the USA Ryder Cup team with Jim Furyk acting as a de facto captain while Keegan plays. Born in Ormskirk, England, 20 minutes north of Liverpool, it was always Stephen Warnock's dream to pull on the red shirt at Anfield. He joined the Liverpool Football Club academy and worked his way up the ranks until he broke into the first team. Having stood on the Kop singing, “You'll Never Walk Alone,” he walked out on the pitch singing it with a tear in his eye. He lived the dream of every football fan and made 40 appearances for his club, but he says now that he has regrets.Nowadays, Warnock is a co-commentator and pundit for NBC in the United States and Sky Sports (and more) in the U.K. He came by The Football Weekend ahead of last season's famous last derby at Goodison Park, the 2-2 draw with two red cards where James Tarkowski's wonderstrike in the 98th minute felt like it won the game for Everton by tying it. Warnock has his own Goodison story as a young Liverpool fan who got himself onto the pitch.MORE:Has Anfield lost its formidable atmosphere? What Everton will leave behind at Goodison Park Hosted on Acast.
