It's rough.  Note: Liz says two completely inaccurate things with absolute confidence: first she claims that Wyatt is the only guest star with a costume change (false, that is Lwaxana) and then she claims that he's wearing grey in the holodeck scene (he is wearing burgundy). And unfortunately these were LOAD-BEARING INACCURACIES that couldn't easily be edited out. Never trust a podcaster.  "I don't know who wrote this, but I cannot support them."  We know early TNG loved a Special Boy, but why is Wyatt Miller the protagonist of this episode?  Is Lwaxana Troi a reliable source of information on Betazoid culture and custom?  "Genetic bonding" is a fancy word for "child betrothal" and also sounds kiiiiiiiinda sketchy? Were Ian Troi and the Millers attempting to pull some sort of eugenics shenanigans? (Streaming movie about Michelle Yeoh taking out Ian Troi, co-starring Jess Bush as young Lwaxana, when?) In our latest tribute, Janet, John, (and Pen) celebrate the life and career of the actor who played one of the most iconic villians in horror film history... Tony Todd! Desperately desiring to be an actor since he was a little boy, this New England native went from working at the Artisits Collective as a teen to joining the Eugene O'Neill Actors Institute to hone his acting skills. At 28, this brilliant character actor landed in New York City and in two weeks was working on stage in equity shows: playing in Shakespeare's greats or the latest new plays. He was later discovered by Oliver Stone and switched to a life of film, soon becoming a beloved member of Star-Trek and a big star from one of the scariest horror remakes ever. His amazing skills and complex character work in Candyman (1992) would take him on 30-year-old journey with 4 spectacular sequels. In the film, Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise-D joins forces with Captain James T. Kirk to stop the villain Tolian Soran from destroying a planetary system in his attempt to return to an extra-dimensional realm known as the Nexus. Generations was conceived as a transition from the original cast of the Star Trek films to the cast of The Next Generation. After developing several film ideas concurrently, the producers chose a script written by Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga. Production began while the final season of the television series was being made. The director was David Carson, who previously directed episodes of the television series; photography was by franchise newcomer John A. Alonzo. Filming took place on the Paramount Studios lots, and on location in Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada, and Lone Pine, California. The film's climax was revised and reshot following poor reception from test audiences. The film uses a mix of traditional optical effects alongside computer-generated imagery and was scored by regular Star Trek composer Dennis McCarthy. Star Trek Generations was released in the United States on November 18, 1994. Paramount promoted the film with merchandising tie-ins, including toys, books, games, and a website—a first for a major motion picture. The film opened at the top of the United States box office in its first week of release and grossed a total of $118 million worldwide. Critical reception was mixed, with critics divided on the film's characters and comprehensibility to a casual viewer.
