Click here to see Alex's detailed spreadsheet outlining our contenders. The Rules: For each quad, pick the number of gymnasts based on the rules at that time (e.g. the Sydney format is 6-5-4, Athens is 6-3-3, London is 5-3-3, Tokyo is 4-3-3 + 2 individuals) If you are too heartbroken to leave an athlete at home, you can name 2 travelling alternates. You can even name two non-travelling alternates if you must  With all of the best gymnasts from the quad competing at their quad-level peak with no injuries, burnout, and retirements, who do you pick? Go through quad by quad and determine your Olympic team (plus alternates, if necessary) and select team final lineups. After Biles revealed her former teammate blocked her on X, formerly known as Twitter, for mocking her prior comments after celebrating her 2024 Paris Olympics win, she is calling a truce. "Watching people cheer on the bullying … is disgusting," she said, noting that she's received a lot of "death threats" toward herself and her husband and child. As OK previously reported, Biles, 27, made fun of Skinner's prior comments in which she said present day gymnasts "don't work as hard" as they used to, seemingly referring to Biles and her teammates Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee and Hazyl Rivera. "But not just heartbroken because it isn't what I feel or even how I previously said, but because Simone's latest post and others that followed it fueled another wave of hateful comments, DMs, articles and emails," she added.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Another Olympics, another set of stellar performances by the U.S. women's artistic gymnastics team. Thursday, the team won two medals in the women's all-around final: a gold for Simone Biles and a bronze for Sunisa Lee. The medals add to the team's overall count, which also includes a gold for the women's team final. Simone and Suni are expected to lead the team to more medals in the coming days. Each day the gymnasts compete, we are left to pick our jaws off the floor and wonder: How do they do that? So we called up one of our favorite science communicators, Frederic Bertley, to explain just that. He's the CEO of the Center of Science and Industry and our gymnastics physics guide for the day.Follow NPR's 2024 Paris Olympics coverage.Want us to cover the science powering other Olympians? Reigning Olympic champion Sunisa Lee overcomes health issue to compete at US Championships

Strictly going by standings, reigning Olympic all-around gold medalist Sunisa Lee finished last at the U.S. Championships — yet ask anybody who knows her and they will view those results in a completely different light. "It is exciting to see her overcome everything that she has and come back out here stronger, because I think it does send a good message to the younger ones," said Simone Biles, who won her eighth championship. The score sheet with Biles on top and Lee at the very bottom hardly told the story of Lee's tumultuous year dealing with a kidney-related health issue and just how much it took to even get to San Jose, California where the championships were held. In and out of the hospital because of the kidney issue, the 20-year-old Lee was forced to end her sophomore collegiate season early at Auburn. On April 3, she posted on social media: "My focus at this time is my health and recovery." So the fact she competed at U.S. Championships mattered so much more than the tie for 27th place. Oh, and Lee still got to stand on the podium with a bronze finish on the beam. She didn't compete at all on uneven bars — her signature event — or floor exercise, causing the lowest score. Lee's eyes are still clearly set on the Paris Olympics next summer, seemingly determined as ever to overcome the latest challenges in her young life. If anyone knows how to persevere, it's Lee. U.S. Olympic medalist Chellsie Memmel, the technical lead for USA Gymnastics, admires Lee's courage to keep fighting through each tough day. Nobody is counting her out to make the Americans' five-woman squad. "I'm proud of what she's able to do dealing with everything that she is going through," Memmel said. "So to be able to come out here each day and perform very nice on beam and vault, she's not just doing those events, we've gotten to see her train on bars. It's inspiring." Lee could be chosen to compete in just a couple of events for the Americans. Whatever happens, Lee has a huge cheering section as she goes forward. This article was provided by The Associated Press.

NCAAMBKB – Men’s College Basketball Last Night Michigan State 86, (4) Kentucky 77 – 2OT Bradley 89, Eastern Michigan 61 Michigan State 86, (4) Kentucky 77 – 2OT – Michigan State outlasts Tshiebwe, No. 4 Kentucky in 2OT Malik Hall forced two extra periods with dunks off inbounds plays, and Michigan State outlasted No. 4 Kentucky 86-77 in double overtime after Oscar Tshiebwe concluded his strong season debut by fouling out. Tshiebwe, last season’s consensus national player of the year, had 22 points and 18 rebounds for the Wildcats before picking up his fifth foul late in the first overtime. Michigan State, coming off a one-point loss to No. 2 Gonzaga on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln, appeared headed for another tough nonconference defeat. But the Spartans tied the game in the final seconds of regulation and overtime thanks to Hall, who finished with 20 points. Bradley 89, EMU 61 – Bradley wins 89-61 against Eastern Michigan Led by Malevy Leons’ 16 points, the Bradley Braves defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles 89-61 on Tuesday night. The Braves improved to 2-1 with the victory and the Eagles fell to 1-2. Emoni Bates had a game high 20 points to lead Eastern Michigan. The Bulldogs’ Southeastern Conference rivals Tennessee and LSU are at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. With three of the top six teams and only three weeks left until Selection Sunday, the SEC appears in position to put two teams in the CFP for the second straight season and third time overall. USC, the Pac-12′s best and probably last hope to make the final four, is seventh. NCAAFB – Charlotte hires Michigan’s Poggi as head football coach The Charlotte 49ers have named Michigan associate head coach Francis “Biff” Poggi as their head football coach. Poggi replaces Will Healy, who was fired earlier this season. Pete Rossomando has been serving as the interim coach and will finish out this season. Poggi inherits a team that has struggled in 2022. The 49ers are 2-9 entering the season finale Saturday against Louisiana Tech. Poggi’s introductory news conference is scheduled for next week. He is Charlotte’s third head football coach since the school’s FBS football program started in 2015. NCAAFB – USC, UCLA may cause Big Ten schools to expand recruiting map Southern California and UCLA’s pending arrivals to the Big Ten theoretically should give the league’s existing members the opportunity to expand their recruiting maps and pursue more West Coast prospects. But it apparently will take some time for these moves to have that kind of impact. Twelve high school juniors or seniors from states with Pac-12 programs have verbally committed to play football at one of the Big Ten’s 14 current member schools. Only four made their decisions after the Big Ten’s June 30 announcement that USC and UCLA would join the league in 2024. NCAAFB – University of Virginia mourns for campus shooting victims The University of Virginia community is mourning as new details emerge about both the three football players killed in a campus shooting this week and the criminal charges the suspect faces. Authorities have said university student Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. joined a group of about two dozen others who traveled by bus Sunday to Washington for a field trip. After the bus arrived back on campus, authorities say Jones opened fire, killing the three players and wounding two others. Jones was scheduled to make a first court appearance Wednesday. NHL – National Hockey League Last Night Anaheim Ducks 3, Detroit Red Wings 2 – OT Ducks 3, Red Wings 2 – OT – Ducks beat Wings, snap 3-game skid on Strome’s OT goal Ryan Strome scored on a pass from Trevor Zegras with 49 seconds left in overtime and the Anaheim Ducks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. After John Klingberg scored his first goal for his new team with 46 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, the Ducks earned only their fifth win of the season when a clearing attempt by Detroit’s Tyler Bertuzzi hit Strome in front of the net. Zegras and Strome executed a back-and-forth passing game that ended with Strome’s fifth goal of the season. Tonight St. Louis Blues at Chicago Blackhawks, 7:30 p.m. MLB – Veteran skippers Francona, Showalter voted Managers of Year Terry Francona of the Cleveland Guardians and Buck Showalter of the New York Mets have been voted Managers of the Year, improving the already sparkling resumes of both veteran baseball leaders. Showalter narrowly won the National League award in a wide-open race, becoming the third person to take the prize four times and the first to do it with four different franchises. He won in the American League with the New York Yankees in 1994, Texas Rangers in 2004 and Baltimore Orioles in 2014. The other four-time winners are Hall of Famers Bobby Cox and Tony La Russa. Baltimore’s Brandon Hyde finished second to Francona in the American League, while Dave Roberts of the Los Angeles Dodgers was runner-up in the NL. MLB – Rizzo, Yankees agree to $40M, 2-year contract First baseman Anthony Rizzo is staying with the New York Yankees, agreeing to a $40 million, two-year contract. Rizzo gets $17 million in each of the next two seasons, and the deal includes a $17 million team option for 2025 with a $6 million buyout. Rizzo had opted out of his previous contract with New York, giving up a $16 million salary for 2023. Since joining the Yankees at the 2021 trade deadline, Rizzo had provided needed left-handed power for New York. NFL – Bears place RB Herbert on IR because of hip injury The Chicago Bears have placed running back Khalil Herbert on injured reserve because of a hip injury, a big setback for a team leading the NFL in rushing yards. Herbert will miss at least four games. He was hurt returning a kickoff near the end of last week’s 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions. Herbert is the team’s second-leading rusher behind quarterback Justin Fields. He has 643 yards on 108 attempts while sharing duties with David Montgomery. Golf – LIV/PGA – McIlroy says Norman needs to ‘exit stage left’ from LIV Golf Rory McIlroy says golf cannot begin to come together as long as Greg Norman is running Saudi-funded LIV Golf. McIlroy says no one is going to talk unless there’s an adult in the room and that Norman needs to go. McIlroy is in Dubai for the DP World Tour Championship that ends the European tour season. McIlroy says it will be difficult to get anywhere until lawsuits in the U.S. and the U.K. are sorted out. He also takes issue with Norman saying Tiger Woods should be thankful for LIV forcing the tour to provide more money to plays. Olympics – Summer 2024 – 2020 Olympic champ Sunisa Lee to make a run at Paris 2024 Sunisa Lee is going to make another run at Olympic glory. The 2020 women’s all-around gymnastics champion has announced she will return to training at the elite level following the end of her sophomore season at Auburn. Lee became the fifth straight American to win Olympic gold when she edged Rebeca Andrade of Brazil in the finals at the 2020 games in Tokyo. Lee still fulfilled her commitment to compete at Auburn, helping the Tigers to the NCAA finals last spring. Lee says she doesn’t want her gold-medal moment in Japan to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Tennis – Unvaccinated Djokovic set for visa to play Australian Open Novak Djokovic is set to be granted a visa to play in the Australian Open in January despite his high-profile deportation from Australia this year because he isn’t vaccinated against COVID-19. The Australian Broadcasting Corp. says it has confirmed newspaper reports that the immigration minister is putting aside Djokovic’s potential three-year exclusion period from Australia. Djokovic is a 35-year-old from Serbia who had faced that lengthy ban because he is a foreign citizen whose visa was revoked. The Australian Border Force previously said an exclusion period could be waived under certain circumstances. Immigration Minister Andrew Giles has declined to comment on privacy. The Spaghetti Podcast is back! We will be recapping the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games! The Olympics never fail to leave me stunned. I revel at the fact that I can witness athletes move in extraordinary ways. But there is a lot that we don't see or hear about. Olympic athletes dedicate nearly their entire lives to the day they will perform at the Olympic Games. What is it about them that allows them to compete at the Olympic level - a level that no other human can compete at? In Episode 7, we will be taking a look at the U.S. National Gymnastics team, and explore the story of Sunisa Lee. We will also be observing the relationship Lee had with fellow teammate Simone Biles, and how they comforted each other prior to the 2020 Games held this past summer. Just like we can set standards with spaghetti, Olympic athletes set standards for themselves by competing in different environments and qualifiers ahead of the actual games. Episode #110 – On this Wonderful Women Wednesday, we celebrate Olympic Champion Sunisa Lee.  Known as Suni, she was born in St. Paul, MN.  She was a high school senior while participating in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. At one point while preparing for the Olympics she wanted to quit during quarantine – Team USA is glad she didn't.  She is proudly part of the Hmong American community, and they are very proud of her.  Now, she is taking on two more challenges and opportunities.  She' s a freshman at Auburn University and also will be on the 30th Season of Dancing with the Stars.  With all of her endeavors, she's quoted as saying “It's definitely going to be very different, but I know that it's not going to be as difficult as anything I did in the Olympics or leading up to the Olympics. So, I know that I'm good in that area, but I think it's more mental because I'm not a very good dancer. So, I'm excited to see how this plays out and I'm really excited to find out who my partner is and just how the whole thing will go. I think it'll be very fun.” WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY? In this installment, I discuss the value of initiative, the uncertainty of outcomes, and the importance of moving forward. We discuss one of the recent hot-button issues on social media, how people are divided on how to interpret and understand former gold medallist Simone Biles pulling out of the women's gymnastics, and how the media and influencer spin on the situation is fueling the division. Here's the link to a story with a little background on Sunisa Lee, this year's women's all-around gold medallist:

It's back to the future for news of workplace outbreaks of coronavirus infections. Much like we were talking about a year ago, COVID outbreaks are starting to pick up at offices and job sites across Southern California. At the same time, major corporations are starting to get tough with their COVID vaccine mandates--from Facebook to Netflix, they're ordering employees to get vaccinated or submit to regular testing-----and we'll go In Depth on all of it.Speaking of vaccinated employees, President Biden will make it official today that federal workers must be vaccinated or routinely tested.......and he's calling on some financial incentives to speed up the process. This isn't the type of lawsuit you see every day: superstar actor Scarlett Johansson is suing Disney over its release of her "Black Widow" Marvel movie over streaming; and it might just be the start of this legal fight.A potential Christmas buzzkill is in the works, with predictions for short supplies and high costs for the hot toys on your kids' wish lists. And with all of the attention on Simone Biles this week..........U.S. gymnast Sunisa Lee flew under the radar to take up the individual all-around gold medal. In this solocast, I provide the 10 (actually 11) things I'm going to be watching for at the US Classic this weekend. It's also the Hopes Championships. We are so excited to see all these amazing athletes get out there and compete. They've been working so hard and it is exciting to see it all coming together. Remember, the Juniors need to get a 51 to qualify to National Championships and Senior Elites need a 52. Some of the athletes have already qualified but most have not. Some of the gymnasts discussed in the episode include Konnor McClain, MG Elite (Zoe Gravier and Olivia Greaves), GAGE (Aleah Finnegan, Alexis Jeffrey, Leanne Wong and JaFree Scott), Sunisa Lee, Katelyn Rosen, Sophia Butler, Simone Biles, The Gymcastic Podcast, Olivia Dunne, Jordan Chiles, Ragan Smith, Morgan Hurd, Jade Carey, Ashton Locklear, Riley McCusker, Shilese Jones, Levi Jung-Ruivivar and Hezly Rivera (via a shout out from @gymnast_nateianna).
