Today IS special because we're unlocking the vault to our deepest/darkest memories of 80's television programming for children. Remember the mass paranoia of getting trapped in a refrigerator? What about Harriet and her weird-ass hats? Thank goodness for the wholesomeness of playing in Mr. Dress Up's Tickle Trunk, right? Enjoy this fever dream of memories, although we suggest you not operate heavy machinery or drive while listening because there are twists and turns we truly couldn't predict.

The Buffet Menu on Today Is? How is Your Love Walk During The Pandemic?
Good Morning, Colorado, you’re listening to the Daily Sun-Up with the Colorado Sun. It’s Friday May 28th. Today - Is there a labor shortage in Colorado? Or are wages in some industries just too low? But before we begin, let’s go back in time with some Colorado history adapted from historian Derek R Everett’s book “Colorado Day by Day”: Today, we take you back to May 28th, 2008 when The University of Denver bestowed a new name on the college’s international relations program. It became the Josef Korbel School of I International Studies. Korbel was a Czechoslovakian diplomat who fled the country as it fell to Nazi Germany. He returned when the war ended, but three years later a Soviet backed government hijacked the country and the Korbels left once again - and came to Denver. He organized a graduate program at DU and served as its first dean. There, he trained students in the nuances of diplomacy until his death in 1977. Now, our feature story. Employers say they can’t find workers to fill positions. Job seekers say they can’t find positions that pay enough money. So, is Colorado experiencing a labor shortage or what? Reporter Tamara Chuang talks with Lucy Haggard about what’s going on with Colorado’s job market. To read more about Colorado’s job market, go to coloradosun.com. And Before we go, here are a few stories that you should know about today: The Denver Metro area will get a new area code starting next year: 983. The two area codes associated with north-central Colorado, numbers starting with 303 and 720, are expected to run out by the end of 2022. Existing phone customers will be able to keep their current numbers, as the 983 code will be used for people who request new phone service. This will be the first area code added to Colorado since 1998, when the 720 area code came on the scene. Colorado Democrats are getting creative in an attempt to reduce out-of-pocket prescription drug prices. One bill would create a prescription drug affordability board to review the prices of medications. Governor Jared Polis’ office is pursuing measures with drug companies and health care providers, as well as reviewing cheaper Canadian drugs for import. If all those efforts succeed, they could collectively reduce out-of-pocket costs by 20% to 40%. The Colorado Sun is offering a free virtual summer camp for middle school and high school students interested in journalism! Participants will match up with a professional journalist for a week to learn about what it’s like to work in the field. Students from underrepresented groups, including people of color, LGBTQ+, rural and first generation students are especially encouraged to apply. The Rise And Shine workshop will be held in the last week of July, with applications due June 18. Go to coloradosun.com for more information and to apply. For more information on all of these stories, visit our website, www.coloradosun.com. And don’t forget to tune in again tomorrow for a special holiday episode. Now, a quick message from our editor. Today IS a good day. Is it? What makes today a good day? When during the day do you decide today is good? Do irritations like spilled coffee or frustrations like losing your debit card cause your day to go from good to bad?Categorizing a day as good or okay or bad is something we all do. When someone tells you to "have a good day!" they are wishing you well. Do their well wishes perk you up? Or make you grumble "it couldn't get worse"?My guest, Dr. Michelle Bengtson, adopted a mindset years ago to start each day by declaring TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY. Did you catch that she started the day this way? You see, she was struggling greatly at that time in her life. Every reason for her perspective and mindset to be murky and grumbly and expecting more bad to happen. But she resolved to start each day basing her day on God's promises that are always good instead of whatever bad circumstances or irritations or frustrations sprouted up during the day.Our conversation is filled with her hard earned and rich wisdom about leaning hard on God's promises in His Word. She's faced MANY zigzags in her journey. In fact, she's in the middle of a big zigzag right now. Even though she's experienced many tough days lately, you won't hear her say any of them has been bad. Why? Because she doesn't base her day on the circumstances. Rather, she declares her days as good, because God is faithful, unchanging, forgiving, gives her strength, unfailing in His love, never leaves her alone, and working all things for her good. Her hope-filled perspective is what she's known for. Learn more about her at drmichelleb.com Her books, Hope Prevails, Hope Prevails Bible Study, and Breaking Anxiety's Grip, are available everywhere! Check out her podcast, Your Hope-Filled Perspective, on all podcast apps to hear Michelle discuss ways to find hope when life is going well AND when you're finding it tough to see the good in each day.

Social distancing can't stop us from doing what we do best! In our opinion we are essential, we hope you guys do too. This week the guys get together "telework style" to discuss the "Today Is," including an insane "#WTFrijoles." Tommy recommends for everyone to watch the rockumentary about ZZ Top. The guys wrap it all up with some rock news, including what some of their favorite rockers are doing during these crazy times. Tune in the next couple of weeks as we are going to do a special give away sponsored by a friend of the show. (Email us: tommynadampod@gmail.com)
This week the guys bring back the energy to provide you guys the distraction you need amid all this COVID-19 news. We first salute "Friend of the Show" Fernando Cuevas from the "A Duo Contigo Podcast" out of Puerto Rico. We wish Tommy a very happy and GRAN 55th birthday. Then, we get into the "Today Is." which includes some advice from Tommy, about why skincare is important. We get another neat co-sign from a famous figure. Jay offers up 2 hypotheticals for the guys. Adam gives us some knowledge with his "#WTFrijoles." Then the guys wrap this episode up by giving you some essential tracks to play while you are subjected to quarantine. .. Of course, Jay has got to throw his flavor in there. While we try to lighten the mood during these difficult times, we do want to remind everyone to be safe and be prepared as much as they feel like they need to be. But remember to do what is right and remain calm as best as you can. (Email us: tommynadampod@gmail.com)

And it's led to a lot of toilet paper "alternatives" being flushed. Now people are worried it could back up sewage systems. So let's take a second to review the top things you should NOT be flushing . . . Wet wipes. Even if they say "flushable," it's not true. They don't break down like toilet paper does. So they can clog your plumbing, or your local sewage system if enough people do it. The same applies for baby wipes and moist towelettes. Paper towels, and even tissues. They're not designed to break down in water like toilet paper is. Antibacterial wipes, like those Clorox wipes everyone stocked up on. Hopefully you haven't resorted to using THOSE in the bathroom. But in any case, don't flush them. Lady products, including tampons. If you normally flush them, now's the time to break that habit. The same applies for Q-tips and cotton pads. Condoms. Sewage treatment plants have to deal with them a lot. But it's even more important to stop flushing them right now. Dental floss. It can wrap around stuff and cause blockages. You also shouldn't flush HAIR for the same reason. (31:55) What Foods Were So Undesirable That They Found Themselves Alone on Empty Shelves? There have been rushes on grocery stores for the past week, with people clearing out the supply of everything from frozen pizzas to mac and cheese. But there are some things that are SO undesirable that they managed to stay on the shelves while people bought up everything around them. A website compiled a bunch of people's social media pictures to put together a list of the foods that no one wanted, even now. Those include . . . Frozen pizzas with pineapple . . . or with cauliflower and broccoli crusts. Cans of Manhattan Clam Chowder soup in a New England grocery store. Hot Tamales-flavored Peeps. Baby Shark cereal. Aquafina water. Gluten-free battered halibut. Unsalted potato chips. And, of course, Corona beer. It's the Earliest Spring in 124 Years Today is the vernal equinox, which marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of fall in the Southern Hemisphere. And this is actually the earliest spring in 124 years. NOT because of anything any groundhog predicted, though. It all has to do with Leap Days and Daylight Saving Time. In 2000, we had a Leap Day. In the first year of other centuries, like the year 1700, the year 1800, and the year 1900, there wasn't a Leap Day because years that are evenly divisible by 100 don't get one. But if a year is evenly divisible by 400, like the year 2000, then we DO have a Leap Day. Why? Because of some calculations made in the 1500s. Seriously. SO . . . because 2000 was a day longer, it started pushing the time of the vernal equinox slightly earlier every year. Plus, in recent years, Daylight Saving Time has started earlier in the year, before the equinox, instead of after. That brings us to now, and the equinox is today at 11:49 P.M. Eastern time. That's the earliest it's been since all these random factors collided back in 1896, when the vernal equinox was at 9:29 P.M. Eastern on March 19th. I hope that's all confused you enough to take your mind off what's happening in the world. The guys get into the "Today Is", with a special ad regarding child care we think you might enjoy. Adam gives us a very intriguing "#WTFrijoles." In the wake of the COVID-19, the Rock Gods drop in to give our Legion of Listeners a very important PSA. We get our very first celebrity endorsement. Because today is my 25th birthday and I wanted to celebrate it like this, there's also my new song called Dawn, while you listen to this mix I'll be celebrating it. Remember, if you go out for a drink today, have a drink on me. I love you all. By the way, I have a server at Discord. I am well aware of the constant struggle many face to maintain a healthy body image while also enjoying life. Losing weight is half mindset related and half practical. My goal is to both inspire and educate your clients on as they make progress to living a healthy life. You can find plenty of fitness gurus on instagram and facebook eager to tell you how to get skinny thighs or six-pack abs. However, their impressive photos and celebrity testimonials may be misleading. How can you distinguish between fitness myths and reliable facts... Today Is all about shedding light on the top 5 myths floating around social media and are consistent with time. As mentioned in the show, I created a survey so I could better serve everyone on this journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.. I figure rather than guessing what everyone needs and what struggles are out there, I would just ask! So I’m asking! If you fill this surgery out then I will send you a 180FIT t-shirt and a free month to my 180FIT app that will be launched in a couple weeks, my six week nutrition guide and program ( comes in vegan and non-vegan) and a few other cool resources:) please feel free to share this with anyone as I truly desire to get as much feedback as possible and offer you all posts, workshops and training that truly help you and are worthy of your time. Thank you so much for taking the time to fill out the survey:) here is the link! http://180fitbeachbody.com/febsurvey --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/180fit/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/180fit/support

HAVE IT ALL, LOSE IT ALL #162: Daily Mentoring with Trevor Crane on GreatnessQuest.com SUMMARY Today, I talk about patterns that can lead you to HAVE IT ALL, and LOSE IT ALL. (Of this, I speak from experience.) These are patterns that YOU might be running today. Maybe, one’s which you've run in the before. Possibly, if you’re at all like me, these patterns contributed to you BURNING everything you have to the ground. Sinking the ship. And sabotaging EVERYTHING you’d built up until that point. My REVELATION today, is that I have recognized these patterns AGAIN in myself TODAY. Son of a BITCH! To realize that I’m IN THE PROCESS of REPEATING those patterns TODAY… Is messing with my mind. But, and this is a big “BUT” people, this pattern-recognition is a GOOD THING. It means I DON’T have to REPEAT the past. So, today, I share this with you from an authentic place. A place that will hopefully help you reflect and recognize the patterns inside yourself or inside your life RIGHT NOW that that might not be serving you at the highest level. PLEASE… Recognize those patterns now. Before they sabotage everything you’ve worked for, and everything you love and everything you care about. Hosted by Dr. Richard Shurtz and Jim Russ. Sponsored by Stratford University. Today: Is distance education as effective as traditional classroom delivery? And next-generation Wi-Fi is finally coming.
It wasn't her birthday when we recorded this but TODAY IS! HBD LC!! We talk very little about the episode in this one and take a minute to discuss so very real and sad news in Hallie's life. But life is short so we have some fun and take a brownie break in there!
In this episode we read "Today Is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life" by Austrian cartoonist Ulli Lust. This comic follows the artist’s real life journey from Austria to Sicily with no money, no passport, and no friends. It’s a heavy book in terms of both physical weight and emotional content. Join us, we’ve got lots to talk about! Music by Sleuth. Our next episode will cover the first two volumes of "Paper Girls" by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang.
Today we read "Bone: Out from Boneville" and "Bone: The Great Cow Race," the first two volumes of the acclaimed series by Jeff Smith. Join us and find out what we thought about these books that revolutionized graphic novels as we know them. Find out where Jeff Smith’s inspiration came from, how "Bone" has affected the classroom, and how it’s influenced cartoonists who grew up reading them (hint: it’s kgros). And join us for our exciting new TradeWaiters segments, “Um Actually” and “Devil’s Advocate.” Music by Sleuth. Our next episode will cover "Today Is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life" by Ulli Lust.
Today Is one of those blingy randomness days! Im discussing the 2015 Grammys and playing my top 2 songs of the day!

So many questions were answered in these two stories but so many more doors were left open for the remaining three episodes, and further seasons down the line. … Continue reading SkyNext – TSCC – Chronicle 29 – ‘Today Is the Day’ Parts 1 and 2
Anthony Brown joins Kyle on the podcast this week. Anthony is a multitalented individual. A Stand up Comedian, A Co-Host of the Podcast The Front Desk, The lead guitarist/singer/songwriter of the band *Today Is…* which has a new album coming out November 4 th 2020 called “Ah The Joys of Mortgaging Your Future”. Kyle and Anthony talk about Anthony’s humbling beginning as a Model UN delegate, which spurred him into comedy. How a overhyped song from 2019 gave him the inspiration to write a new album. Breaking down comedy topics like which famous comedians we don’t like, cancel culture, attacking jokes from every angle, and the future of comedy. Writing this all out shows me how slightly antagonistic this episode is, which pairs well with Anthony’s comedy! Before that, Kyle continues to have difficulties with being and staying creative, while holding himself accountable to keep him from slacking. Creativity is hard, yo.
