In this episode, I speak with Chris Gerteisen, CEO of Nova Minerals (ASX:NVA - NASDAQ:NVA - FRA:QM3), for a deep dive into the company's Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project in Alaska's Tintina Gold Belt. Chris provides an overview of the project's 9.9-million-ounce JORC gold resource, detailing the Korbel and RPM deposits, their respective grades, and expansion plans. Beyond gold, we discuss the project's significant antimony opportunity, including the potential for government funding to support resource definition, production, and even a refinery build-out. I'll be the first to say it, this one might not be for everyone. Today we talk about the Brown Forman Cooperage closure and the links to the FDA ruling for new warning labels on whiskey. THIS IS MY OPINION AND ONLY THAT. Hope that it opens your eyes a bit. Because it did mine. No sponsors on this one. I don t want my opinions to any way affect them. But Check out https://youtube.com/@mywhiskeyden?si=DvGDaZ-57wj06x9p January 14, 2025 Brown‑Forman Announces Series of Strategic Initiatives for Growth Company To Restructure Globally, Louisville Cooperage To Close LOUISVILLE, KY – Brown‑Forman Corporation (NYSE:BFA,BFB) announced today a series of strategic initiatives to position the company for continued growth in the dynamic global spirits market. These initiatives include restructuring the executive leadership team, implementing a workforce reduction affecting approximately 12% of the company's global workforce, and closing the Louisville-based Brown‑Forman Cooperage. “In 2025, Brown‑Forman celebrates 155 years of delivering Nothing Better in the Market. We have achieved this impressive milestone in part because of our relentless focus on evolving our strategy, our portfolio, and our organization to grow and thrive,” said Lawson Whiting, President & Chief Executive Officer. “Today's announcement will ensure we have the structure and teams in place to continue on this path, while also making investments that we believe will facilitate growth for generations to come.” Workforce Reduction To enhance operational efficiency and agility, Brown‑Forman has made the difficult decision to reduce its global workforce by approximately 12% of its 5,400 employees worldwide. Brown‑Forman is deeply committed to supporting departing employees with comprehensive transition agreements that include severance, outplacement services, and other benefits to help them through this career change. This organizational evolution will simplify and streamline Brown‑Forman's structure, allowing it to become a more agile and efficient organization and reinvest in the capabilities, technologies, brands, and people that will drive future growth. Brown‑Forman Cooperage Closure Brown‑Forman will close its Louisville-based barrel-making operation, Brown‑Forman Cooperage, by April 25, 2025. This closure, which will impact approximately 210 hourly and salaried employees, is part of the overall 12% workforce reduction. Brown‑Forman will offer severance, outplacement services, and benefits consistent with their terms of employment. Moving forward, Brown‑Forman will source barrels from an external supplier to ensure a steady supply of the same high-quality barrels at a competitive price. Collectively, these actions are projected to deliver approximately $70 to $80 million in annualized cost savings, a portion of which is expected to be reinvested to accelerate growth. In addition, the company will receive more than $30 million in proceeds in connection with the sale of the cooperage assets. The company expects to incur approximately $60 to $70 million in aggregate charges for severance and related costs associated with the workforce reduction and cooperage closing. Brown‑Forman.com. Proactive's Tylah Tully breaks down ‘Just the Facts' of the latest news from Nova Minerals Ltd (ASX:NVA, NASDAQ:NVA). The company has identified a significant antimony-rich zone at the Stibium prospect within its Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project in Alaska. Reconnaissance rock chip samples recorded antimony grades as high as 56.7%, with 11 samples exceeding 30% antimony. The mineralised zone spans 800 by 400 metres and remains open for further exploration. Antimony is a critical mineral with applications in defence and advanced technologies, including night vision, explosives, and nuclear weapons. Due to China's export restrictions on antimony, Nova is engaging with the US Department of Defense and seeking grant funding to expedite project development. The company is also a member of the Defense Industrial Base Consortium to enhance government-industry collaboration. The Stibium prospect has been prioritised as a high-grade, drill-ready target. Nova anticipates results from 2024 gold exploration, with prior gold grades reaching up to 12.7 g/t. The Estelle Project also includes the RPM gold deposit and the Korbel bulk tonnage deposit. Key sampling highlights include 56.7%, 55.7%, and 54.8% antimony. The company has made significant progress in its grant funding applications to further its resource development efforts. #ProactiveInvestors #NovaMinerals, #ASX #NASDAQ #JusttheFacts #Antimony, #CriticalMinerals, #GoldExploration, #StibiumProspect, #EstelleProject, #MiningUpdates, #USDefense, #HighGradeDiscovery, #FutureTech, #ResourceDevelopment, #GeologicalSurvey, #GoldResults, #RPMDeposit, #KorbelDeposit, #MiningInnovation, #AlaskaMining, #MineralExploration, #SupplyChainSecurity, #GrantFunding

Natalie Cilurzo Natalie Cilurzo from Russian River Brewing Co. is on Brew Ha Ha with Steve Jaxon and Herlinda Heras to talk about Pliny for President 2024. Herlinda is traveling today. We begin with Natalie telling the story of how RRBC got started, from when Korbel started the brand and hired Vinny. Later when Korbel decided to leave the beer business, Vinny and Natalie got the brand and recipes, organized a business plan with investors, and opened their brew pub in 2004 in Santa Rosa. That means that 2024 is also the 20th release of Pliny the Younger. When they had to postpone their retail release during Covid, it meant separating the wholesale distribution of Pliny the Younger from the on-site consumer retail release. The brewery is a lot bigger than it used to be and this reorganization has made the process more manageable. Pliny the Younger 2024 The 2024 Pliny the Younger will be available at will begin to appear at many of their clients in the Bay Area on draft, at SF Beer Week Feb 9 – 18, and a few other events. The in-person release is March 22 to April 4, this year. The complete release plans are all listed at the Russian River Brewing Co. website and socials. See our sponsor Victory House at Poppy Bank Epicenter online, for their latest viewing and menu options. Check out the family-friendly New Year's Eve party! Russian River Brewing Co. has also released the 2024 Pliny for President. It used to be just for fun, pre-social media. But now, it's a lot more established, with branding, merchandise and a great slogan, “Hop Care for Everyone.” Blind Pig is Pliny's running mate, as always. The 2020 release was sold online in cans, and people who were cooped up during the pandemic really appreciated it. This 2024 Pliny for President has flavors of 4 different hops, Simcoe, Nectaron, Amarillo, Zumo, so the beer has citrus and stone fruit flavors from those hops, but a but lower alcohol than last time. It's at local retail stores and they will release it quarterly. Russian River Brewing Co. is open in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and in Windsor location. Visit their website for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more. The Windsor location was designed with Pliny the Younger in mind. It was important for there to be enough space for the crowds that come every year. Some travelers even park their RVs in the Windsor parking lot, with permission. SF Beer Week is back and the opening night Gala is back for the first time since the pandemic. Russian River Brewing Co. will be there. Tickets for different kinds of entry are available at the SF Beer Week website. In lingua Latina PS: some suggested Latin slogans for Pliny for President, suitable for carving into marble: Ex multis cerevisiis, unum = Out of many beers, one. Lupuli pro Omnibus = Hops for Everyone.

Maggie Holt had been to Bainberry Manor 25 years before, when she was only five years old. In fact she had lived there for 20 days before the ghosts, and tales of fathers killing daughters on the premises drove her family away and inspired her father to write a telling novel of their harrowing ordeal. Now, Maggie has inherited the old mansion and, against her mother's wishes, she's headed back to fix it up to sell. Some stories are best kept in the past, and when Maggie enters the house a former occupant, Martha, the housekeeper, Elsa and Walt, the caretaker all have their own version of events. Who can Maggie trust, and how much of her father's book was true? Listen and find out! What could we sip over ghost stories but wine from a haunted winery? In this episode of the Epigenetics Podcast, we caught up with Nada Jabado from McGill University to talk about her work on oncohistones as drivers of Pediatric Brain Tumors. Nada Jabado and her team were amongst the first to identify mutations in Histone 3.3 Tails which lead to differentially remodeled chromatin in pediatric glioblastoma. Mutations that occur include the Lysine at position 27 and the Glycine at position 34. If those residues are mutated it will influence the equilibrium of chromatin associated proteins like the Polycomb Repressive Complex (PRC) and hence domains of heterochromatin will be shifted. This, in turn, will lead to differential gene expression and development of developmental disorders or cancer. References Schwartzentruber, J., Korshunov, A., Liu, X. Y., Jones, D. “We can't be naive about the the cost of climate action, but the value of climate action is the key thing Carbon Literacy brings clarity to.” Before you dive in to take a listen to the podcast to learn more about The Carbon Literacy Project and why being carbon literate offers a much needed cultural shift - embedded into our everyday lives and thinking, giving all of us a meaningful carbon instinct and motivated to take action - first, we ask you to ponder the question; how carbon literate are you? According to recent research findings, sustainability is now the ‘fourth functional skill' - and a recent CIM study, showcased that 40% of marketers said they did not have relevant sustainability qualifications, but would want one, revealing a desire to skill up. Climate change impacts everyone and everyone has a role to play – and Carbon Literacy is the glue that helps bring that together. In this highly informative episode, we speak to Phil Korbel, Co-Founder of The Carbon Literacy Project and Director of Advocacy. Phil shares exactly what the Carbon Literacy Project and the Carbon Literacy Trust is, how they work with organisations, and why the impact they drive with those using their frameworks to educate and embed learning, is both urgent and important. We discuss real-world case studies where organisations, such as AutoTrader, have engaged with Carbon Literacy - and how it is now embedded strategically as part of workplace competence. Phil walks us through the process of Carbon Literacy training and, whether it's the C-suite or shop floor, the many personal light bulb moments gleaned that drive meaningful impact. Of course, it's not all smooth sailing, we discuss key challenges, and the many misconceptions around climate action. Phil tells us… Acting on climate is not about having less – it's about more… more connection, personal connection to the people, communities, and things around us that truly make us happy. As usual, we reflect on the role of marketing, and in Phil's view, marketing's role in communication around carbon literacy is nothing short of essential. Beside the enormous ethics around climate action – we talk about the role of business and leadership, and how leaders need to get on board with climate action to thrive and succeed in business, and do the right thing. At any level Carbon Literacy is going to change the way you work and live… Tune in… Carbon Literacy.com info@carbonliteracy.com For more information about Carbon Literacy - visit: www.carbonliteracy.com which provides loads of useful info. We've also designed a certified, Carbon Literacy Training for Marketers - which you can find more about here, and if you want to email the team at Carbon Literacy - their email is info@carbonliteracy. Phil references, the CIM Summit, the wonderful work our Sustainable Marketer Manifesto Partners, Purpose Disruptors are doing (their podcast is here too) - so we've made those links accessible here in the show notes. What is "disestablishmentarianism"? In this episode, Craig speaks with Michael Korbel about his article Against Those Who Are Against the State, where he defines this word(antidisestablishmentarianism) as a mindset of being against those who are against the establishment. Right now, those of us who are refusing to comply with current mandates are being not only ridiculed but actually kicked out of businesses and schools. Together, we explore how we got to this point, what we can do to thrive in this environment, and how understanding the word disestablishmentarianism can help us frame current events. Michael Korbel is the host of The Invictus Mind podcast where he interviews experts about political, financial, and spiritual freedom for the individual. Invictus is Greek for unconquerable. His main message is that individuals have the power to make changes for themselves in their lives. They just have to take that power from those in the systems who claim it over them.
