In the series conclusion, John, Blaine, and Allen offer stories and insights on how God strengthens his people in times of crisis. One key trend is the growth in deep discipleship. Rather than try to fit a little bit of God into our busy schedules, we must take our life with Jesus seriously by seeking his Kingdom first—and then seeing what else there is room for. That's the only way to remain strong, love well, and stay in union with God as this world grows more chaotic.Show Notes:1) Follow Blaine's Substack writings at https://blaineeldredge.substack.com/2) Find more about the Rule of Life Workbook here.3) The Prayer of Descent document is available here._______________________________________________There is more.Got a question you want answered on the podcast? Everyone talks about goal setting. But what about goal achieving? Setting goals is the easy part. It is fun to daydream about what you want in life. And in the beginning, the pursuit of our goals is exciting … until it's not! Sometimes, the path to our goal(s) can become difficult, challenging, even boring! Limited beliefs and negative talk can get in our way too. And let's not forget that getting consistent results requires focus, discipline and a plan. Research shows that people who write down their goals are 80% more likely to achieve them. Simply because written goals become external and are protected from the emotions that cause us to second guess ourselves. Of course, no one can achieve your goals except for YOU but knowing what you want to achieve and breaking those goals into smaller, manageable pieces gives you something to work toward each day. Listen in as Anna shares: How goal ACHIEVERS live a bigger life than goal SETTERS. How to use the Wheel of Life exercise to determine which areas of your life you feel fulfilled and which ones you want to improve. The definition of SMART goals. 4 questions a good accountability partner will ask you. Resources Mentioned in the Show: Download the Wheel of Life Workbook: https://www.myfcoaching.com/wheeloflife Journal Prompts: Explore your feelings about goal setting. How do you feel when you accomplish a goal? If you don't set goals, why not? Think about at least one goal you want to accomplish. Do you have a strategic plan? If not, why not? As an homage to author and speaker Bob Proctor, Anna dives into his teachings about the power of our minds. Bob was living proof that changing your behavior can change your life because he grew up poor and dropped out of school yet he became one of the premier teachers of the Law of Attraction and the power of thoughts. No matter what your life circumstances right now, YOU have the power to change them. It's not easy and it will be a test of your patience but there is always some action that you can take that will start to change the course of your life's path. One of the most powerful things you can start implementing is choosing your words wisely because we are always listening to what those voices are telling us. As you change your words, naturally your thoughts will begin to change. As your thoughts change, so will your feelings and behavior. Listen in as Anna explains: The difference between the unconscious and conscious minds How our inner minds control our behaviors Why wishing for change won't work Why having a vision for your life is so important The steps necessary to reprogram your thoughts What it means to “attract what you think” Resources Mentioned in this Episode: You Were Born Rich by Bob Proctor The Secret (book and movie) Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill Download the Wheel of Life Workbook: https://www.myfcoaching.com/wheeloflife How to Fill Out the Wheel of Life (video): https://youtu.be/Cv-Fw5dgSiE Journal Prompts: What do you want in life? What are your thoughts saying about your ability? How can you shift your thinking to see more possibilities around you? What does “Push your own potential” mean to you? Have you ever been so moved by a book that you want to tell everyone you know to read it? That's how I feel about The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Manuel Ruiz. This book definitely falls under the Personal Development genre but it's a short, easy read and focuses on achievement in all areas of your life. Absolutely everyone can make these agreements with themselves – there are no prerequisites needed – and you'll be on the path to living a high-level, fulfilling, spiritual life. While these agreements might seem simplistic, making them a part of your everyday life can be a challenge, especially nowadays when we're all so busy with balancing careers with our personal lives. But this book is not meant to change your life overnight. Quite the contrary; you might need to take a few baby steps to get started and that's OK. Awareness is a recurring theme in this book, so that might be your first step: being aware that you're capable of making changes and living your best life. Forgiveness and action are other themes that bear mentioning. So often we are our hardest critics but learning how to forgive ourselves for past mistakes is paramount to learning the lessons from those mistakes. And action is vitally important to achieving your goals. It's not enough to think and dream of what you want. Without action, we can't get results. I dive a lot deeper into each of the four agreements in this episode and I'd love to hear your thoughts. Share your insights in our Monday Morning Mojo Facebook group. How do you know when you're in your comfort zone? Do you ever pay attention or think about if you're working and living to your full potential? Or are you just coasting along, following the status quo and enjoying life? Every human alive has a comfort zone. It's that space where things come easily, life is predictable, and the idea of making changes makes your palms sweat. Surprisingly, many people move through life just accepting every day as it comes, without the desire to grow or explore how they can learn and achieve more. Some older parents or grandparents actually get insulted at the idea of self-improvement, as if you're not grateful for the life you've been given. Quite the opposite is true. Self-improvement is a natural part of human evolution and we actually have the power to create changes in any area of our life where we're not satisfied. Many people go through their whole lives not understanding that power. This might sound like a heavy topic but it's an important one, especially if you feel you're not reaching the goals you've set for yourself. Keep in mind that comfort zones appear in every aspect of our lives. Career is the obvious one but it also shows up in our finances and relationships, too. In this episode, we're talking about the 4 stages of moving through your comfort zone into a new way of being. Be sure to take notes and be honest with yourself as you answer the questions. There's no shame, blame, or guilt. We all have different journeys, we'll face different hurdles, and we'll have a different timeframe for breaking free of our comfort zones. The most important thing is to be consistent with your actions and be willing to learn throughout the process. Remember, we don't develop our confidence and skillset when things are easy. Journal prompts: What holds me back from consistency? Am I ready and willing to see new opportunities for amazing things to happen? What can I do that's new this week? What can I learn? In which area of my life do I feel most stuck? Which of my current habits are not serving me right now? Quotes to remember: "What you don't acknowledge, you can't fix. Your awareness is your power." “Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.” “This process is about progress, not perfection.” "It's not about someone's approval; it's about OUR achievement." “Your brain learns through the struggle. It wants to be challenged.” “Stop focusing on 'having' ... focus on the 'being' and 'doing'.” Resources mentioned in the show: FB Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mondaymorningmojo Download the Wheel of Life Workbook: https://www.myfcoaching.com/wheeloflife How to Fill Out the Wheel of Life (video): https://youtu.be/Cv-Fw5dgSiE Connect with Anna: Email: agibbs2@kw.com Facebook: @CoachAnnaGibbs Instagram: @CoachAnnaGibbs YouTube: @Annagibbsatkw Coaching: coachannagibbs.com To learn more about the supplements and products Anna uses to improve her overall health and well-being visit: https://plexusworldwide.com/annagibbs

Taking risks is terrifying. Most of us actively avoid taking risks believing that doing nothing is a safer course of action. Well, it turns out that taking risks is the least risky thing you can do to live a fulfilling life. Things might not always turn out the way you hoped, but if you live aligned with your “why,” research suggest that you will benefit emotionally. Live your life to the fullest, follow your heart and always ask yourself “what would I regret the most?” Alan Ying dropped out of the cardiothoracic surgery residency program at Duke University to start a software company when he was twenty-eight years old. Since selling that business, he's enjoyed leading, investing in, and serving on the boards of start-ups to public companies. Alan grew up in Ohio and now lives in Texas. Welcome back to The AUSA Podcast for our final episode this season! For our last week, Brenna is joined by Luke, Parker, and Isabella for a conversation about rhythms. Everyone has rhythms, and whether you make it a point to practice them or not, they affect how you interact with God, yourself, and the world. What we do forms us into who we are, so it's important to be mindful about those practices (again, intentional or not) that are shaping us. We talk about what rhythms we have in place, how we prioritize practicing rhythms, how we feel when those rhythms change, and how we combat the shift that comes with break. From all of us non the Student Activities team, have such a restful break! We are grateful for all of you, and if break is particularly hard for you, know you're not alone. The holidays can be tricky and messy for a lot of people—some of your Student Activities friends included—so we get it. You've got this! Finish strong on your finals and rest it up over winter break. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for listening in to a great season, and for being patient as we get this thing started. We'll see you next semester with more episodes and more events! What We Discuss in this Episode: Achieving is an elusive goal. Overachievers thrive on lists, and getting things done. The problem is, we are achieving for an external outcome to validate ourselves, not to fulfill ourselves internally. How much we love ourselves, how secure we are, and how much self-esteem we have is directly correlated to how much we have to augment externally. Most high achievers choose to pursue for one of three reasons: power/authority, desire to win, and drive to be known. The goal is not to stop making the world a better place. The goal is to subtly shift your perspective to change how you fulfill your inner desire and drive. Many of our goals come from what society says we should have or should do. Initiate an internal check, “what is this for?” “What am I trying to create for myself/my business/my family?” “Complacency is the proverbial kryptonite to high achievers.” In other words, ‘satisfaction’ means that I have nothing to do, or accomplish. If I don’t have anything to accomplish, I don’t have a purpose. We create stories of why we behave the way we do. Ask yourself the following questions: “How do I know I am happy? What do I have to observe in my reality?” “How do you want your life to look like going forward personally, with my family?” then, figure out how the business drives that. We spend so much time in our lives that we don’t work on our lives. In our first episode back for season two, we are exposing the unrealistic expectations that are New Year's resolutions. New Year's resolutions come down to one common theme: “there's a lot of talk but NO plan.” Because of our distaste of these resolutions, we had to go out searching for something that would ignite our fire for 2020 but also keep us accountable. Thus, the Lavendaire “Artist of Life” Workbook. Each of us discuss our mindset of what we plan to do if some of our goals fall through the cracks whether that's knowing that every day is a new start or learning from the mistakes we have made. Either way, we're ready to bounce back and make it a year neither of us could forget! 2020 we're ready for you!
